I went with a friend to lunch at Paesanos because neither of us had been there. We arrived on a Monday a little before noon. There were only a couple of other patrons dining. There are inside and outside dining areas. We decided to eat inside. A few more patrons arrived during our visit but it never got crowded. They have a small Lunch menu of six items, all just $14, saving money for those with lighter appetites. We both ordered the Pesto Raviolis with the tomato basil soup as our side. The soup seemed a bit salty to me. The pasta in the ravioli dish was too tough and the dish was swimming in oil. It did have fresh cherry tomatoes in it. They never bothered us as we were chatting, in fact we had to call someone over to get the check. Perhaps their pizzas are better but we weren't impressed with our pastas. One and done for me. .
The food here is soooo good. I especially love the Carbonara Pasta, it is so rich but so delicious. They have great customer service and the restaurant is a nice place to go for a special night out.
didn't realize it's a chain restaurant. very mid food unfortunately. my sicilian pizza was extremely salty and it's honestly just so so. my colleague liked her apple and gorgonzola pizza tho so maybe that one is better and pasta seemed to be a little better as well. not much to say and not impressed :/
We were in Davis and decided to give Paesanos a try. We asked to be seated outside and started with a non-alcoholic beer, a glass of Chardonnay, and an order of calamari to enjoy with our drinks. We also requested two glasses of water. Our first server took our drink and appetizer order, but shortly afterward another server introduced herself and let us know she would be taking care of us. We reminded her about the calamari order previoulsy placed and were told it should be coming out soon. Then we ordered our main entree, the combination pizza and the Farmers Market Salad as our main courses. After waiting more than 40 minutes, our entrees finally arrived, but the calamari never did. We asked our server to cancel the appetizer since it was clear the original order had either been forgotten or never placed. The pizza was decent but nothing memorable compared to other places we've tried. The Farmers Market Salad, however, was outstanding. The fresh ingredients were perfectly balanced, and it ended up being the highlight of the meal. I would absolutely order that salad again. Overall, I would rate the service 2/5. It was disappointing, especially because we watched other customers who arrived after us receive water immediately and have their meals served in less than 20 minutes, which made our experience feel inconsistent. The pizza was a 3/5, while the salad easily earned a 5/5. There is plenty of outdoor parking, and the prices are reasonable--not overly expensive. With better service and more consistency, this restaurant could provide a much better dining experience.
Paesanos is a great restaurant in Davis with delicious food and excellent service. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the spaghetti carbonara was especially good--rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend Paesanos to anyone looking for a good Italian meal in Davis.
Food is good, same dude ruins the service. I been here 50 times and its either 5 stars or 1 star depending on the waiter. My order with this guy is wrong everytime, orders take 2-3x as long with him, crazy random surpluses. I actually dread this guy to the point I stopped coming for months hoping he would no longer work here. Came back today, had my order wrong again with a 40 minutes wait. Probably gonna take a break again. Ever since he started working here early this year, my experience has plumetted
Had a fantastic Lunch here. The food was amazing! I love the fried Ravioli and Spaghetti and meatballs. Still drooling. Our server was very nice and the service was excellent. Nice family friendly ambiance, with seating inside and outside for pet owners too. Parking can be tricky but if you park a little further away you'll be okay. I like that they have two women's individual bathroom spaces. A separate bar area with tv if you'd like to just pop in and watch a game or just have a meal and drink. Our food came out quick and was very nice because we were starving. Garlic bread is great but I must tell you that the Homemade Cornbread Croutons !!!! Are everything!!!
Stopped for a short break in Davis and went for a bite at Paesano very near the UC Davis campus. The ambiance was great and felt super casual but elegant enough for a special occasion. For dinner, we had the bruschetta which was beautifully toasted with fresh tomatoes and perfectly seasoned. Also ordered the capellini pomodoro with fried chicken on top, while the pasta was dressed up nicely and light, the chicken was a tad bit dry. Overall, it was a good meal and would definitely return for some other dishes. 4 stars for me.
Checked this place out with my friend on a Saturday afternoon, got seated immediately, and the place was pretty empty. What we got: Caesar salad (3/5) -- overall too salty from the cheese, croutons were flavorless Meatball calzone (3/5) -- They put only 2 meatballs in this thing...and the inside dough was quite mushy, making it hard to eat since the meatballs kept slipping out. They should chop up the meatballs to make it easier to cut, handle, and share. Marinara that comes with was average Hot honey soppressata pizza (4/5) -- mostly sweet and spicy, I was looking for more savory notes. Good balance of textures, dough had good chew Not sure if I would return although nice to try
Wonderful experience! Everything is good, not a single drawback. love the dark interior, waiter was SO nice and funny, and of course the food was great. I loved my bacon carbonara - barely finished it all! I will always get the polenta fries too (way better than the fried ravioli) Sangria pitcher tasted watered down but was a lot for two people lol

By the time we finished dinner, there was more than an hour wait for seating. Service was on the slower side due to the rush, but we still received our food in a timely manner. Combination Pizza: I loved the combo of toppings including their pepperoni and mushroom, and the slices were thin and had a cris and chewy crust. The pizza was flavorful without being too heavy. Calamari Fritti: This appetizer was golden and crispy, and the portion size was decent for the price. I enjoyed the copious amounts of tender squid. Fettuccine Arrostiti: This was my peronal favorite, as it was perfectly cooked pasta coated in a savory and well-seasoned sauce.
So to start off this is a place where you should do reservation in advance. If no reservation, you're looking at a 30 minute wait at least. Service here for us was pretty good. ( I will add we were a large party of 6.) The waiter apologized for the wait and the waitress made a few good recommendations on food. We tried their meatball for appetizers as well as their fried ravioli and Boca balls. (Not pictured because we devoured them.) The Bocca balls were tasty and the ravioli was super good! But the meatballs were delish!!! I ordered their baked pasta without the bolognese and the pasta was okay I felt it needed meat which was recommended by the waitress but I decided to get it without it. (My fault.) However the other pastas everyone else got were really good! I would probably order a different one next time around. There were 6 of us so we had a pretty big order. However the shocker for all of us was the tab was reasonable, we paid around $130 for all the plates and drinks! We even had to do a double take! But no everything is that reasonably priced here. Of course decor is your typical Italian restaurant. But the service for us was excellent. They also have outdoor seating if you have a pup to come out with you. I would definitely come to this spot again!
Great Italian restaurant with pasta & pizza options. Not too big of a menu where it's overwhelming. I ordered the mushroom pasta special they had; it was a little too salty for my liking, but was still tasty. Great service. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Casual... or low key date night, your call. We were seated quick, no fuss. Food was yummy and I was happy to see vegan options--my pizza was great with that super thin crust so you don't leave in a full food coma. We asked about a birthday dessert and they delivered--such a sweet touch. Mocktails were cute too. Indoor and outdoor seating makes it easy to pick your vibe. read more
Came here with some great folks to celebrate some hard work during lunch. We got there around 11:50 so we were seated quickly. However the server was not as tentative we had to ask for them to take our order, refill on drinks and for to-go boxes and the check. The food was okay. I heard a lot of good things about this place but it didn't live up to the hype (at least for me and the food that I had) I may come here again. The people in my group liked their meals so perhaps the dish that I got wasn't the favs. read more

I used to enjoy Paesanos, but my latest order was a huge disappointment. I ordered a cheese pizza with mushrooms, and they charge $1.25 for a single topping, yet the quality was nowhere near worth the price. I've ordered from Paesanos before, so I know what they're capable of. Unfortunately, today's pizza wasn't even close and the biggest issue was that the pizza was undercooked. The cheese barely had any color, the center wasn't baked, and the whole pizza looked rushed. Comparing it to my June 14 order, the difference is obvious. The difference in quality speaks for itself. It's disappointing to spend good money on a pizza that doesn't meet the standard they've set in the past. I hope they can be more consistent going forward. read more
Came back and had the rigatoni this time... sooo good. Perfect amount of spice and packed with flavor. Definitely one of those dishes you keep thinking about after. Can't wait to come back again. Still great service and calm ambiance! read more

My daughter brought me here for my birthday, and it was my first time visiting. I can honestly say this was one of the best dining experience I've ever had. I travel quite a bit for food and family, including trips to Las Vegas, colorado, and Southern California and the service here truly stood out. Danielle R. provided phenomenal service and everyone working on the floor was welcoming, attentive, and professional. Look for the Morgan Wallen look-a-like (missing a lol) The hospitality made my birthday feel extra special. For my entree I ordered the carbonara along with a glass of sangria. My daughter ordered several appetizers including the calamari, fried ravioli, and a mixed green salad with candied walnuts and cranberries. Everything was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be back & I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience. read more
Would definitely recommend! My sister went to UC Davis, and this was a staple whenever we came to visit. I went to a Kings game last week and decided to stop by again. We started with the polenta sticks, which were very yummy and unique. They were super crispy. We also ordered a salad that was fresh and delicious, and the balsamic dressing was especially tasty. I got the vodka pasta and finished the entire thing. It was a little sweet, but super cheesy and yummy. The garlic bread that came with it was crispy and delicious. My mom and sister both got the shrimp scampi, since this is the restaurant that originally made them fall in love with the dish. The vibe of the restaurant is just alright, and the service could be a little nicer, but that does not take away from the great food and great prices. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Davis! read more

Favorite pasta spot in the Northern California area. This location is fun. Patio seating made for a great date night with my fiancé (even tho she forgot her ring at home). Love the garlic bread that comes with every pasta dish. It's so damn good. Tried bruschetta and fell in love. Cheesy, oily with carmelized grape tomatoes made for a delicious appetizer. The basil just added to the depth of flavors. My Rigatoni alla Vodka was a dish I would order again and again. Added grilled chicken and it was perfect. I loved my pasta dish and even dug into my ladies baked pasta too. Service here was great even tho it was so close to closing time. Thanks to the staff as a whole for making date night such a success in Davis. read more
Revisited this spot just for the vegan pizza they made last time and they brought out a a pizza that was completely different. According to the manager, they don't make it like that anymore. So I cannot recommend this place. If you really want a good vegan pizza unfortunately. I ended up having a $22 spaghetti which I could've made at home. The whole point was to go to that spot to eat the pizza. I was very disappointed. still gave it three stars because the staff is really friendly. Have only been to this location once for a celebration dinner with a larger group of people. The restaurant was able to get us all seated and our server was very attentive! The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated, and there is seating inside and outsides. The only issue with this location is the parking which the restaurant has no control over. If you plan to come during a busier time you may have to walk a bit but that's the nature of a downtown area. I knew what to expect food wise since I've been to the location in Sacramento. The food was good and filling. I had gotten the spaghetti carbonara and the sauce was delicious, the pasta had a firmness to it more than other restaurants, and the bread was garlicky and crispy. They had a pasta special that had lemons and capers that was also delicious. I would come back if in the area. read more
This used to be the old Fuzios back in my day. Now an Italian restaurant that can be busy on a Friday night with larger parties. Both indoor and outdoor seating, full bar and lively! The perfect Italian spot, me and my college BFF met up for dinner and we sat outside so we didn't have to wait an hour, it was a little cold and no heaters. We started with a large Caesar salad and added chicken (so good!), bocce balls (nice and doughy and chewy with cheese and oil), we probably could have shared one pasta together but I was carb loading for a half marathon. We got the Spaghetti Carbonara and Fettucini Arrostiti (already comes with chicken) which our server recommended as a popular one. We were stuffed after our meal with pasta leftovers that are still good the next day! There's street parking surrounding but it gets busy in Davis. We were also able to split our check. read more
Paesanos has always been our go to Italian spot. The service is always great, food always delicious, and has a very intimate setting for a date! Each time we go I try a new dish, this time I decided on the Rigatoni and I was not disappointed. Highly recommend for those in search of some good Italian. read more
Came in on Saturday around 2pm. Place wasn't busy with only a few tables occupied.... around 10-12 people. There were around five people working not including kitchen team. We were greeted and seated pretty quick. It didn't take much for us to figure out what we wanted. We were pretty hungry. We got our appetizer but no forks or napkins. We could use hands so no biggie. Food came hot and steaming. Had to ask for forks and napkins since we ordered pasta. Food was good but expected much more. Took a little to get the bill and a to go box. Overall, food is good but I think we'll try some other spots next time we're in the area. read more
We were a group of nine who came for lunch during the weekday. The service was wonderful, the food delicious, and the atmosphere really great. Our server even humored us by being our photographer multiple times throughout the meal. Our table shared a serving of the calamari. It was perfectly done with a nice dry crisp on the exterior, and perfectly al dente in the middle. I ordered the lunch Sicilian pizza. My tablemates ordered the meatballs, I saw some sandwiches, and some salads. Everyone said the food was absolutely delicious. My pizza was perfectly done. The crust was thin and crunchy, just like I like it. Peach Moscow mules were the perfect accompaniment to our celebratory lunch. Can't wait to come back! read more

I hadn't been to Paesanos since 2012, and decided on a whim to come back for dinner with some friends. We got there on a summer Friday at 6 PM and waited 25 minutes before being seated outside. We ordered the calamari, fettuccine arrostiti, vodka penne, and a pizza with sopresatta (?) and honey. We also got 2 mocktails. I will say, there's a lot of cream on the menu. I was surprised to see that' there was cream in the carbonara (a carbonara is traditionally egg, cheese, no cream). The calamari was alright, nothing to really rave about. It wasn't oily and appreciated the pieces of fried lemon. The fettuccine was just okay, it reminded me a Cajun pasta. I personally found the pasta a little too hard (I prefer soft, but I found it harder than al dente should be) and salty. The vodka penne was great, tastes just as I had expected it. I was surprised by the pizza, I found it to be really tasty. A little soggy in the middle and could maybe use a slightly longer bake? Or it sat too long, but the rest of the crust was nice a chewy. The mocktails were not very good. They were way too sweet and concentrated, which sounds like a weird thing to complain about, but we had to add water to it to make it feel less syrupy in our mouths. The service was fine, the servers were nice and attentive. The patio was very nice with the string lights and beautiful weather. I'd like to return and eat inside to get a better look at the interior and decoration. I also want to try the fried polenta and other signature items to get a better feel. read more

I had a much better experience dining in than taking out. The waitress was great and recommended the lemon pistachio linguine. I was able to substitute the prawns for chicken, and it was really good! Not as lemony as I expected, but the sauce and noodles were still delicious. read more

Always a good experience here, friendly staff and great food definitely worth a try if you haven't already. Spaghetti parmaseano was very good along with the lavender lemon drop. read more

We were in town for an event in Sacramento and decided to stop in Davis, where we found this establishment. The food was amazing, and our waiter provided friendly and excellent customer service. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere, which felt welcoming even while busy. read more
