So, the wife and I stopped here after visiting the Davis Co-op for lunch and we were very impressed. Parking was little hard to find at first but eventually we found a spot right out front. The staff was very friendly the establishment was clean and the outdoor seating was limited but the indoor seating was good. The summer promo they had for the half pizza and drink was a must do for us. The food was delicious and we topped it off by taking a nice stroll through downtown Davis. Ordered the online deal 3 build your own pizzas with 2 sides for $45. For the two sides, I ordered the Caprese and Caesar salad. The price has gone up since I last came in about a year ago but so has everything else right? I love their caprese salad. I think they have the best balsamic vinegar dressing. Staff were ok. This Blaze pizza location is perfect for lunch or dinner. The staff were helpful and gracious. There was outdoor and indoor seating and the restaurant overall was clean and inviting. All of the toppings were bountiful and fresh and the summer promo for the half pizza and drink was just what we needed for our impromptu lunch break. Perfect for online order but not worth dining at location. My friend and I went to Blaze for dinner last night. We were only persons in line. For several minutes the preparers ignored us as they started endless online orders. I finally asked if I should place my order online to get their attention. I was told they would help us shorty. Even after they completed a few more pizzas, they split our pizzas in the line with online orders. We were shocked to then get to the end of the preparation line to order Fri is to find that they had no beer. They no longer offer period, no an inventory issue. This is like going to the beach without surf. You can enjoy the sun and sand but no water? The final zinger was sitting at a table that clearly had not been cleaned in hours. You could tell the type of pizza the prior occupants had eaten by the sticky residual and loose toppings. Why go here to dine-in with no attention, no beer and no cleaning of tables? read more

I'm usually a big fan of Blaze, but recently I've noticed a few QC issues. I ordered their Caesar salad and a lot of the lettuce was already bad. The edges had turned black and wilted. They also put part of the stem in the salad, which you're supposed to throw out. I normally love their caesar because it comes with fresh parmesean, but in addition to the wilted lettuce, they didn't provide a side of salad dressing like they normally do. It was sprinkled on by the cook. Also, the last few times I ordered delivery I'll get two pizzas, salads, etc. and it never comes in a bag. All my items are just there and I have a hard time bringing it in my house. I also never get the napkins, parm packets, or red pepper packets I request. Couple that with the fact they skimped on the toppings for our pizzas, it just wasn't the quality I'm used to from Blaze. Came into store, not greeted once while all the workers were laughing and talking loudly. I was the only person in line, there were a few online orders and I still had to wait 20 minutes before they even acknowledged that I was there. Once they finally asked what I was having they put my order to the side and continued to ignore me. Another 10 minutes passed without them saying anything to me at all so I just left. If you're gonna hire people at least train them to greet customers and communicate that it might be a while before they get to your order. I was waiting for half an hour without knowing when they were gonna get to me. Don't forget that I was the ONLY person in life. No one in front of me or behind me in line. First let me say, my friend and I came here to eat on 2/13/25 The male employees were SO outrageously rude with a bad attitude, there was a horrible homeless smell in the back seating area, they then handed my pizza to the wrong people, mind you the pizza was on an open tray not in a box, and when they gave it back a few mins later saying it was the wrong one, the guy just re gave it to me, after someone else had literally had it for a handful of minutes. Individual made-to-order pizzas at Blaze have been a go-to for my husband and I. Sometimes he wants an all-meat pizza and I'm in the mood for all veggies, going to Blaze means we can both get exactly what we want! We can also always trust that they have a variety of high-quality ingredients, from a selection of meats, vegetables, and other toppings. I personally love coming here during the winter months because of their open-flame oven and purposely choose seats closer to the oven so I can stay warm and cozy. In addition to their pizzas, I absolutely love their blood orange lemonade which is a good mix of sweet and tart. I indulge my sweet tooth further by always ordering a s'more, even if I'm too full to eat it at Blaze, I'll take it to go. We walked into Woodrow's Pizza and saw that they their pizza looked rather bland and basic, so we walked a block to Blaze. Great price for a customizable pizza. Enough for two people. We added a spicy red sauce and upgraded to a high rise dough. Flavor was phenomenal in everything except the chicken chunks. They were a little rubbery, would trade out for another meat. I liked the tables inside but you would expect there to be pepper and cheese on each. Not a big deal, just had to grab the packets from the drink fountain counter in the back. A little dusty back there. Other than that, the girl who was helping us choose our toppings was extremely helpful and kind. I've been coming to this location for a really long time and noticed that over the last year it's declined completely in customer service. I literally never complain about things like this and give praise whenever I can but this made me take out my phone at the end of ordering my pizza to leave this review. The person who took my order moved at a snail's pace to fill the order. He skimped out a lot on ingredients too. I counted 5 pepperoni slices for the whole pie. I asked for more and he gave me a few more. The person who was working at the register was VERY kind and I really appreciated her but the other staff don't leave the area clean or organized. Blaze Pizza has been a staple of family gatherings of mine since I moved to Davis. Their 'build your own' mentality lends itself to a very accommodating menu - whether it be eating gluten free or vegan or otherwise Blaze will most likely have your back. As for the quality of pizza, I am hardly ever disappointed! By far the strongest thing they have going for them in my opinion is their thin crust that is oh so tasty. Without it I'm not sure I'd be as big of a fan given the other elements of the pizza are generally just pretty alright - but with that thin crust I can't help but love it. As for this location the service has always been great and the atmosphere in the restaurant is very cool and fresh. I was able to eat out on their patio the last time I visited and it was very nice! They are also now open once again to indoor seating which is nice to see. Overall I am very thankful to have a Blaze Pizza in Davis - not something I'll seek out on a regular basis, but between the flexible menu and the great atmosphere I will definitely keep it in my pizza-rotation. read more

Me & my girlfriend went the other day and the food was fine but service was bad. The whole crew were prioritizing their conversation bashing their manager, using embarrassing language. I get it, we're adults but if you're working in customer service and talking however you feel like, it's gonna make anyone uncomfortable. The employees here are probably students at UC Davis as they are all fairly young. We dropped by on a not-so-busy Tuesday evening and claimed a reward deal. One 11" pizza is perfect shareable size for me and the hubby so we went with their customizable build-your-own and chose our favorite toppings. We are meat lovers and watched as our pizza was handcrafted through each stage of preparation in the "assembly line" then after our order was "fast fire'd" for 180 seconds in their intensely hot oven we enjoyed a piping hot, perfect artisanal pizza. We're not huge pizza eaters but we love Blaze pizzas. Yum! Delicious crust, that's thin, crispy and yet still soft with fresh toppings. Also, I love their blood orange lemonade! So refreshing! Where else can you get a pizza with unlimited toppings? (Okay, there are other places, but where else in Davis??) Super yummy, fast service. I just order online and pick up from the shelf at the back of the restaurant. It's alphabetized by your first name so makes for easy pick up. I've never tried the agua frescas, so can't comment on those. They do look pretty yummy though. I usually start digging in before I can take a photo, but was able to get one this time. These guys survived the pandemic, and I'm really glad! There's nothing better than getting a quick pizza these days. (Woodstock took 90 minutes a few weeks ago.) That said, you have to take the good with the bad. The good is that there are several different crust to choose from and fresh toppings of all types! Once you get through the line, which is generally not terribly long, your pizza is ready very quickly. I love a super thin crust cooked in a very hot oven. Slightly crispy, a little black around the edges, perfection! If that's your preference, be aware that you will not be able to load your pizza up with 3 pounds of toppings and get that result. That's on you. Also, if you order it through DoorDash, you have a fairly high likelihood of getting a soggy pizza If you add a lot of toppings, and they make a stop before they come to your house. That's happened too many times. But again, if I want it, fresh and crispy, I should probably just go there and get it myself. I am still not digging the atmosphere that much. Given that it doesn't travel that well, it would be better to have a more comfortable place to sit down and enjoy. Also, a few new offerings might be fun. All said, I definitely recommend Blaze. So extremely rude and inconsiderate when it comes to dietary restrictions :( I was unaware that I had to request a glove change since the person originally helping me automatically did it (they were very kind) but then the person with glasses that took over used their contaminated gloves when making my pizza. I asked if they changed their gloves because I wasn't looking and they got extremely defensive and were essentially scolding me because I didn't request a glove change. Visited blaze recently to take advantage of their Pi-day promotion where I was able to get a pizza for only $3.14! I loaded up on a bunch of my favorite toppings to create an insanely stacked pizza. Even though I had so many flavors in one pizza, it tasted very good. However, my one complaint is that the bell peppers were not very tasty. As you can see from the picture, I received some unfavorable parts of the green pepper which was strangely sliced. I have always liked the pizza here! The quality is always fresh and you can get unlimited toppings for no extra cost when you get the "build your own." However, the wait for the pizza almost doesn't make it worth going. When I lived in Davis and came here more often, we knew we couldn't be in a rush because it could take a long time. My last visit, the wait was so long, to the point, I probably would never come here again. They were super understaffed. There was basically only 1 person putting toppings on pizzas. A couple of us were in line, and didn't get attended to until about 10-12 minutes of waiting. The reason was tags kept coming out of the machine for online orders. And then the person would attend to one person and then it would be another 5-10ish minutes for the next person to be attended to. The people working there did an amazing job, as they had so many orders to attend to. Understandable that businesses need to cut back on costs. Typical blaze- got the crust, toppings oven buffet style. Menu now includes pricing options for different number of toppings on build your own pizza. We went at around 8pm , with not that much people but it took almost an hour. Some of it is agreed that it is a little overstuffed and the people ahead of us took advantage of the take two deal with pesto on the crust and salad that was running out , but overall was still a long wait. They went light on the pizza which was good for crispness but lacked for meat and made it a bit dry. Either way, blaze is pretty consistent overall so theres not much to say. It's a build your own pizza place where they have signature options and options to customize everything- sauce, toppings and drizzles. The place has adequate seating and pretty nice lighting, it's a bit partnered with ikes sandwiches in location. There must be shortage of cheese because when we asked for extra, it was not given. The meat was subpar on the meat lovers and chicken was off.
