This place is horrible. We made an appointment online for the notary. We arrived 15 min early. The notary wasn't there yet. We went next door for a minute. Came back 5 min before our appointment to have someone skip ahead of us. We clearly had an appointment for 12:00pm. They made us wait in their hot business for a half an hour before seen. Geeez! This place is the WORST! Just set up a virtual mailbox about a month ago and every time I go in there, they cannot find my packages or mail (even though I got a delivery notification from UPS, no less). You tell them your box number, and they ask if it is mail or a package. What difference does it make?!?! I am there to pick up ANYTHING that has been delivered for me. Nice having this location so close to home as we live off Avocado. Their hours are my biggest complaint. Early hours on weekends and I don't make it home from work during the week in time to visit. I do all my Amazon returns here. Very easy, and usually really fast. Once every few visits there is a line and one e or twice it's taken more than 15-20 minutes. I have never been more happy to see a change in ownership than now! Ever since this new team came along 2 years ago, gone are the days of being ridiculed for mailing back Amazon or similar returns because I online shop a lot. This UPS location actually cares about your packages and informs you of all the options in sending them. They never make you feel less than for not knowing, and happily explain the process to you without making you feel rushed. This place is a dream in terms of efficiency, kindness, and overall expertise. I love coming in to this location specifically because of how friendly they are. I have been served by different employees and every single time it has been top-notch service! I am your typical Amazon prime shopper which means I do a TON of returns! I always feel embarrassed when I come in with heaps of returns, but everyone at my local UPS store has always been friendly, never making me feel like a nuisance. I've never left a review about them before, yet few days ago I was assisted by an associate who went so far above and beyond that I felt compelled to do something to let his bosses know about him...OMAR!!!! Not only does Omar do his job efficiently and well, but he is patient, kind, and goes out of his way for customers. When I accidentally made mistakes with my Amazon returns, he took the time to guide me through Amazon on my iPhone so I was able to resolve it. He easily could've told me to step aside or come back once I had straightened out the situation, but he took the time to personally help me. Not only that, but this happened when I popped in just 10 minutes before the store was closing! Not even once did he make me feel rushed or act like he was in a hurry - it was the complete opposite!! The UPS store should feel VERY grateful to have such an outstanding employee - I certainly do!!!!! Typically, this is my go-to place to send Amazon and Shein returns. I know in the past 6 months to a year, there's been some new hires of college age looking kids. Today, I went to use the kiosk but the store door was locked closed before 5:00! I'm typically a wheelchair user and am disabled, but I was able to get a spot directly in front of their shop door so made my way up to the door on foot (my handicap placard was up too, clearly visible from the store) and the young man working in there gestured the slicing in front of his throat gesture that he would not open the door. It was about 4:57 or 4:58 but posted hours are 5:00 and I even gestured I just needed to use the kiosk quickly. He would not open the door. Mind you, he was with 2 other customers still in the store requiring assistance at the desk but I did make it, fully prepared to use the kiosk with my returns fully ready to go and would've been done in under a minute. It is just ridiculously disappointing especially as someone with an invisible disability, that it took over an hour for me to prepare getting my returns ready to go and be efficient and to get to my car to drive there, making it before the store closed and still not being let in by the young man with light skin and shoulder length curly brown hair. I understand turning away the others who attempted after 5:00 as I sat in my car and watched. But I was there before that. The shop owner here is so kind and personable and goes above and beyond with kindness whenever he's been there so I think it's important he knows how his employees are handling his business when he isn't around. read more

Ive gone in there a handful of times, each time just for Amazon returns and each time the customer rep was obviously less than thrilled. The last time I went (and will go) the employee helping me asked... "If we charged $5 for Amazon returns, would you still come here?". I recently had to have an antique dining room table shipped in three boxes from my home town in El Cajon to my present home in ID. Omar, the store manager was a TREMENDOUS help in getting the table and leaves packaged and ready for shipping in a very timely manner. I shipped a package to Canada from here and they put in the value and some other things wrong. So when it arrived they wanted to charge my wife 10 times the value of the package as a COD fee. I have never had a problem with the UPS store where I live so I assumed that any store should know how to properly send a package to Canada so the person getting doesnt pay at all. Tried to call during business hours to ask them for a refund but nobody picks up and the voicemail hangs up on you pretty quick. I would never recommend this location. read more

This UPS store isn't closest to my home in El Cajon - but I come here for one BIG reason. The people here at the Avocado Blvd. store don't groan or complain when I drop packages off that I've packed myself. The guy who runs the UPS store in Jamacha Road / 2nd Street in El Cajon actually confronted me and said he makes no money when I drop packages off, saying he preferred if I would bring my stuff so they could package it for me and thus charge me for it. What nerve! UPS designates stores which are "drop off" points and this guy is whining about taking my packages. Conversely, the people here at the La Mesa / Rancho San Diego store on Avocado Blvd. are friendly and helpful and always greet customers withe a cheerful attitude. I even told the people there about what happened to me at the El Cajon UPS Store and they were a little surprised. Finally, when it DID come time to get something packed that I could not do myself - I went ahead and CHOSE this store to do it for me. In otherwords, because they've always treated me nicely when I dropped my pre-packed items for pickup, I brought my packing chores to them. (I had them pack a 22-inch flat panel TV into a humongous box with lots of cushioning!). Great people at this store, A+! read more

I sell lots through EBAY and know the protocol pretty well. Recently, I sold a juice machine and took it right to these guys to get sent. The clerk was annoyed that I interrupted his discussion with his buddy and kind of a smart ass but promised to "take care of it " for me so I left it. a week later, I get an email and pictures of a well demolished juice machine and a call from UPS La Mesa that they weren't covering it , because the machine was "Improperly packaged" WTF? YOUR store did the packaging! I now have to pay for a full refund because of their incompetence.
