I stopped into this shop to buy 12 postage stamps to mail my Christmas cards. I came with cash since I didn't want this little place to be charged a CC fee for such a small transaction. She gave me a total of $10.80 not thinking anything of it, I gave her the cash, she gave me my change and she counted out the stamps and I went on my way. Once I got home I realized I was overcharged for the 12 stamps that she literally counted out. Stamps are .73 and are not subject to tax. Next time I will use the post office. It's only a couple dollars I was overcharged but it's the fact that it's just not right. read more

I opened a virtual mailbox here for my business. It went well for a while but about a year ago they stated losing my mail. Whenever I called in, the lady would tell me that I needed to speak with someone else and said she would leave a message with the owner, Maria and ask her to call me back. Maria never called and they wound up losing several pieces of mail, like IMPORTANT documents from the State. Today I received notification that the mail was scanned as requested. It turns out that she had to get the mail out of her system and marked them as scanned, even though they weren't. This obviously begs the question: how can you scan the image but lose the mail? No answer - no specific reason - they're only reply is "sorry, you're the only one this happened to. It probably got put in the wrong box and shredded" - THANKS This has taken OVER A YEAR and I've been charged daily storage fees the entire time - I assumed Maria would provide a refund since that's the right thing to do after all. NOPE - Maria is refusing to refund storage fees for mail that she lost. All I can hear is Turko saying "IT AIN'T RIGHT!" read more

Let's start by saying terrible customer service. I needed to have some legal documents notarized and thought the Box Shop would be a nice convenient place to do so. On the website it is stated: "We have a Notary Public on staff at all times during our store hours - 8:30AM to 6:00PM Monday thru Friday and 9:00AM to 4:00PM Saturdays." This however is not the case. The first time I visited in they asked me to come later because the notary was not there. My second try, there was one other customer in the shop. I waited my turn patiently at which point I was the only customer there. The lady asked me, "what do you need." I told her I had documents I needed notarized. She saw my envelope and asked to see what I had. Under her breathe, but loud enough for me to hear said, "I hate these long ones." I asked if they don't offer service for multiple notarizations. She replied, "we do but if any other customers come, I have to stop what we are doing and help them." I told her that I understood and it wasn't a problem. She reiterated, "I WILL have to stop for each customer that comes in, it WILL take a long time." At that point, I conceded and told her I would go else where. Long story short. Save yourself multiple trips and frustration, if you need something notarized go anywhere else. Thanks for wasting my time. read more

I was flying up to spend Christmas in Seattle and used the Box Shop to ship most of the prezzies via UPS to my sister's joint. The weather was the roughest in the last 20 years and a lot of stuff didn't get there by XMAS. I also didn't bring my paperwork - like the tracking number. I called them today (12/26) to get the tracking number so I could follow up. Jack took my call and said he'd call back in a few minutes. So.....I read all the great reviews and have been looking for an alternative to do my mailing so I went to The box shop in hopes to find friendly, helpful people. First of all, I had my 4 children in the car whom I needed to bring in along with 2 fairly large packages to ship off. I opened the door dropped the first box of and went back to the car to get baby and the other box. My other 3 kids formed a line and went in quietly with my direction. The older lady behind the counter didn't offer to help me lower my box to the floor while I was carring baby. She was rude and very pushy the whole time. Huffing and puffing at my children and me. She was rude to the UPS/fedex guy that came into the store and very unorganized. I couldn't believe the lack of professionism I was seeing. You will not find nicer more helpful people than the family that runs the Box Shop! Every time I have been in here, which has been numerous, they are cheerful and helpful and either get my items mailed or let me know if there is a problem. They sell various sizes of boxes and bubble wrap, plus other shipping supplies and, I think, gift cards and greeting cards, too. Even if I just need to weigh something heavy I am going to mail myself they will do it. Great little shop I have been going to for years. I do not sell online any longer so my visits are far less frequent sad to say.
