Great staff, wonderful service, held on to my credit card when I forgot it at the store! These guys are great, I needed a notary and the UPS Store down the street, after I called confirming that they had a notary available, had no notary on-site at the time. So I ran over to College Postal Plus who were affordable. I had great service, and later that day when I realized that I left my credit card at the store, they had it in their bin. The bonus, is that after two months since my card was forgotten, I haven't had any unknown charges on it, so I'd also say that their staff are honest. read more

The person working was friendly; however, I was mailing a US postal service flat rate box while dropping off some prepaid fedex boxes, as I have babies and it's hard to go to multiple shipping outlets and carry boxes and the kids. To mail a flat rate box at the post office costs $14.75, but here I was charged $26 something to mail it. And was only told the price after he printed the label. If I had known it was twice as much to mail, I would never have agreed to mail it from here. They should have a price list or inform you ahead of time if they don't charge the same as the post office. It's called a "flat rate" for a reason. I get that it's hard times and they have to make a living, but to charge SO much more for something that is always supposed to be one price without telling people until it's too late is just not awesome. read more

Came here to ship fedex package. A week later when my customer said they never got the package I checked the tracking number and it said package never got picked up by fedex only shipping label was created. So when I called for resolution they said since I didn't pay for insurance there's nothing they can do and I will have to wait for update that could take op to 14 days. Very bad service pay for shipping insurance if you need to ship from this store. read more

My experience at College Postal Plus has been fantastic. I've been a regular customer of Mir's at his other store in Point Loma and I'm pleased that he has brought the same level of professionalism and commitment to excellence to this store as well. An example of his commitment to excellence is that his and his staff will go above and beyond to figure out why packages haven't arrived at their scheduled destination even if it means dialing up corporate customer service at FedEx or UPS and giving providing customers with an update. Another example is that if a customer walks in right at closing, they'll make sure to help out the customer even if it means closing the store later than usual. Additionally, during the Covid pandemic, the folks at College Postal Plus have done everything possible to keep customers comfortable. Things like airing out the store, wearing masks, having limited number of people in the store at any time, readily available hand sanitizer etc are staples of their care and sensitivity during his trying times. Definitely my go-to choice for any shipping or making copies of documents. I really don't do very much shipping of packages, but I love the fact that when you bring something here they always tell you what shipping options are available. Basically you will find the best one that suits your needs based on price, how quick you want it to arrive, etc. Even though I hardly do this kind of stuff, I don't think many places would take the time to try to save you money. Awesome I say! Employees are always friendly and help you make the best choice. Once in a while, when my home computer is too slow, I come here and do my stuff and download/print out copies. I am in and out in less than 10 minutes, and normally cost me less than $3-4. They also offer PO boxes as well, which I believe have 24/7 access. A great place for all your postal needs for sure! read more

Very poor Customer service. I went in to get a photocopy of a tracking receipt they printed a copy that I emailed them and he tells me $2.32. I said why so much? he said because you emailed it, I said I've never paid that much before he said well you should've used the copy machine over there, I said I didn't know it was that expensive. I said wow this is how you treat your customers very rude. The normal thing to say to your customer when they want a copy is to inform them of the cost if they printed verses printing it yourself. Let the customer know they can print themselves for .10 cents a copy. I said I didn't know and he says you didn't ask. DO NOT SOLICIT THIS BUSINESS THEY'RE FOREIGNERS AND RACIST. VERY RUDE INCONSIDERATE. I use to use them a lot not anymore poor service. read more

I was out in the San Diego county for work, needed to get a document overnighted. I stopped by two weeks prior to Christmas so you can imagine that the shop was busy. I managed to get my copies and documents mailed out to my destination. Although the delivery did not arrive at the time that was discussed, I am content that the document made it there on the date it was scheduled to arrive. I understand holidays can cause delivery delays and this was definitely an unplanned mailing. The staff was patient with everyone and were seen wearing face mask. Social distancing enforced but the shop is a little small so it could get crowded. Overall, 5 starts because I am content with the service provided overall. Plenty of parking and I don't think it is difficult to find, located in plaza. read more

My package was lost by one of collage postal plus employee and when I asked for my package the owner Mir Ali gave me the run around of the location of my package after a few days he he told me that they can't find it and if I wanted to close my box because I was waiting his time. I used to frequent this place consistently for the past five years until last year when I was in line and witnessed the owner and a customer belittling, making fun of, mimicking and criticizing the Chinese language that was on a package the customer had received. The owner laughed at the customer's comments, which made him complicit in my eyes. The customer complained about why the mailing label would be written in Chinese instead of English since this is America. Really? You need to ask? I called them out when the customer mimicked how he thought Chinese language sounds, and they just looked at me and said immediately explained how they weren't being racist. Okay. I told them that they should look up the term melting pot. It was just so annoying to hear. When I shared this incident with my students, I asked them who they pictured in their minds as I retold the story--they all thought the owner and customer were white. I had to tell them that these were two people of color (not Chinese) making these comments. They were taken aback. read more

Went in hoping I could get a prepaid label and a box to ship something under five pounds. The lady who eventually called me over after I'd been standing around waiting for 10-15 minutes with a box was unnecessarily harsh about it and I felt it was extremely rude how dismissive she was. She basically wanted to get rid of me then and there. She was even looking at her coworker like she needed bailing out just because I asked if there was no way to buy something and just be sure it wasn't over. Most places, if somebody wants to pay you more than they have to won't care if a package is lighter. Only if it's heavier. But why the hell are you being mean? I came on yelp and see at least one other person complaining about the customer service mentioning a woman so maybe it was the same person. I won't be back. I wanted to buy a box, pack my stuff myself, and be able to just drop it off so I wouldn't have to wait again. If you can't do that at least spare me the vitriol when I'm not trying to be rude or try to be a little understanding. Maybe then I'd come back and pay you to ship my stuff. But I'm not going to pay a dime to a place that makes me feel unwelcome, you're not the only place in town I can ship my packages from. Merry Christmas. read more

But you can drop off prepaid USPS, FEDEX and UPS packages here, which is somewhat convenient. Wouldn't give me any sort of receipt when dropping the package off, which would have been nice honestly. read more

By far the worst absolute customer service I have ever got from anywhere, the manager is a complete joke. She is very rude and aggresive. She is there to provide a service from postal stamps to info on how to send things out even to rubber bands... what I'm sure her job doesn't entitle is a rude attitude and snarky comments. So my wife and I came in today to return some packages. (Unaware of how to properly send them mind you) so we ask the manager she ignored us the first couple times asked, then when we had her attention she says What! What do you want? I brushed it off just assuming she was having a bad day. So we ask her about the return sending on the packages, at first she said we just needed labels then half way through she says we need a bigger box to send them. I said okay I'll go get one so I left while my wife stayed. Within 5 mins I came back my wife was standing outside and said we aren't allowed to come back or is thier services. She said the owner told her this. I do not understand why in the least bit that we are banned ? So in all I wouldn't use this place you might just get banned for returning some packages read more

Went in there the other day to have something mailed. The thin guy with the short dreadlocks is incredibly rude and unprofessional. The guy screwed up repeatedly and then copped an attitude about it. I chose to travel further away and pay more money just so I never have to interact with that guy again. The owner should know he lost a customer because of that employee. read more

I have been ripped off here multiple times here asking to ship the cheapest method but then they charged me for first class. I also had mail go missing after sending it through here last summer so if you don't want to lose cherished art and thank you cards or other goods, just go to the post office up the street instead. College Postal Plus is my go-to for all my official document/ business-ey things. They're a one-stop shop for shipping things via USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL; notary services, and LiveScan services. They charge a bit more than the Post Office to mail things--essentially, you're paying for the convenience of not having to go to the Post Office. (Like if you just bought a bunch of chocolate at Vons next door and wanted to mail it to your sister but were too lazy to travel two blocks to the Post Office-- Bam! College Postal Plus is right there!) I often bring them weird and complicated documents to notarize and they're always able to help. They charge $13 for each signature required on a document. It's so convenient that they do LiveScan fingerprinting! I did a FBI/DOJ LiveScan and it was $69 (yikes!), but I know that they are charged by the FBI/DOJ to perform these services, so the price is understandable. The staff there are always friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend. read more

I've lived near College Postal for multiple years, and I truly think it's an absolutely terrific mail shop. The owner Michael is friendly and always treats the customers with full information and has never pulled anything shady with me or other friends. The prices are usually about 25 cents higher than the regular post office, which is no big deal seeing as there are no long lines here, as there are in the nearby post office! Old man who "runs" the shop said it was going to cost $300 shipped. Decided not shop because that's expensive for a tv. He thanked me so much for not having him package it because it was going to be a lot of work. Didn't have room in our car moving across country so we decided to go back and pay the $300. A different girl helped and ended up telling us it was only $138 to ship! We were satisfied with that answer and she said her coworker was going to help her package and ship it off. We get out tv in the mail with no fragile sign on the box.... once we unboxed it this is what we see. We file a claim through UPS but was told the postal office is going to be the ones to give us our refund. So we call and he had the nerve to say he can only refund $100. Then continued to argue with me & say he told us he did allow us to ship it. WHICH HE NEVER DID. Even if he did, why wouldn't you call us?? Why would you still ship a package you denied? Basically DONT trust this place to ship important things!!!!!! Terrible service. I mean $100 for a 55' smart TV? Disgusting. read more

I won't be back as I brought 4 large boxes in for UPS. Prepaid and labeled. Was told to set the boxes on the floor but I asked to have them scanned in first in case anything goes missing, they're covered. As things have gone missing that I've dropped off before and had to be replaced. I was then told I should just go to the UPS store or the Hub. I asked "are you serious"? Anything that you bring into this place will cost you ** DOUBLE ** what the Post Office a few blocks away will charge. My wife and I were in there the other day to ship five packages back east. The average price for the least expensive service possible was $26 for each package. The same packages that would have cost $26 were shipped for $13 (and change). This business should be treated as a "last resort parasite." I would never use them for shipping. read more
