Instead I got a you would have to get it from the racks and there's no sign for that in the store also the cashier needs to be able to say something nice instead of " I don't own the store ... I had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life at Staples, 2879 Jamacha Road, El Cajon, CA 92019. The so-called supervisor Lara Burbrus was shockingly rude, unprofessional, and flat-out disrespectful. After making me wait far too long, I politely mentioned that I had a meeting and asked if she was going to help me. Her response? In front of her employees, she snapped in a nasty, condescending tone: "If you don't like it, go to another Staples." I live in Los Angeles and have never in my life experienced customer service this disgraceful. And to make matters worse, when I later spoke with the general manager, Sharon Churchill, instead of apologizing or even listening, she hung up the phone on me. Absolutely unbelievable. This is completely unacceptable behavior from anyone in customer service, but especially from management. Lara Burbrus and Sharon Churchill are a terrible reflection of Staples as a company. If this is the standard of leadership here, then Staples has a serious problem. Both of these people should be held accountable -- because customers do not deserve to be treated this way. Karen needed a new office chair, so I went with her as I could fit one in the back of my jeep if she decided she liked one of them. There weren't very many people on the floor. In fact, I think there was only one maybe two it's kinda hard to tell. It's a big space, but they had lots of choices and chairs a lot more than I expected. They had one on sale that she liked, a tall back manager's chair, and it looked like it was a good quality and sturdy, and definitely a good value, it didn't take very long for me to put it together after we got back to the house, and she does like the chair. read more

I wouldn't recommend coming here for Amazon returns. When I came, there was one person working the counter and a line out the door. I waited in line for about 35 mins. I wasn't in a hurry, so it wasn't a big deal. However, some people were losing their patience, so the vibe was a little intense. I was thrilled to not only find this location to have my business cards printed but to also have Armain help me make sure my cards were printed perfectly. He was able to fit me into his print schedule knowing I was flying out first thing the next morning. We got the color correct (my screen and their printer are slightly off). I can highly recommend this Staples print shop department. They helped me print a Christmas card I was making and went above and beyond their pay grade, I believe. Avery was so kind as she put the image in the machine. She did such a good job and was so polite, cheery and helpful. She juggled numerous other customers during the time I waited and a few of them were downright disrespectful! C'mon people! What's wrong with you? Did your mama not raise you right? Let's bring back curtesy to others! All the while Avery kept her cool and politeness handling the rude customers. If you give business to the printing department at Staples in Rancho San Diego., be prepared to possibly be given a hard time and not helped. It's mind boggling to me that one of the Printing Associates likes to argue about the fact she chose not to proof a printing job with a glaring error on the final project. expecting me to purchase a poor-printing job. I don't care how long you have been at a job or how new, as I was told she was new, you don't argue with the customers. She also was speaking poorly about the other Printing Associate who was not even on the premises to defend herself saying she didn't know what she was doing. Who speaks poorly about their worker counterpart? Really? Speaking poorly about their worker counterpart to a customer myself? No way! I said please don't speak poorly about your worker counterpart as it's unprofessional, inappropriate, and mean spirited. She then got mad at me for telling her this and hung the phone up on me causing me to drive down to the store and tell the Manager about my nightmare experience. I do hope the District Manager can help assist me now. At this point, I need to find another Stapes who hires employees who like to treat their customers with kindness and professionalism. What is the world coming to? These companies are hiring these employees to represent their company in the highest regard and this unfortunately didn't happen. The motto is Ask me what's possible. Really? My daughter told me also that she had a similar unpleasant experience with the same associate. Not surprised! This Staples is completely unreliable. Do not depend on them for your business for print services. They will fail to notify you of critical changes for business print products. Staples cost me income and wasted my time because they couldn't bother to call me to notify me that changes needed to be made to my print job because "it didn't fit", despite me using their online tools to set the parameters. My print job was supposed to be done Thursday so I could have my business cards this weekend for an event and they failed to deliver and failed to notify me. If your income relies on the print job you need, do not trust this store to get the job done. Now because of their ineptitude, I have to scramble to get this taken care of or else I lose out on my earnings. I'm honestly livid. Omg! Staples print center is the absolute worst! I should have read these reviews before going in. I got an image printed on special matte paper in an 8 x 10 and was told it's not a problem, and that they'll have it done the next day. I picked it up the next day and the print came out fine but didn't notice the print was not an 8 x 10. I assumed something as basics as size that they would get it right. Boy was I wrong! I obviously don't carry a ruler with me around and didn't notice until I got home. I called them the next morning and this other girl tries to tell me they don't do the 8 x 10 size lol. I needed to get some posters printed and went in for service one day. That day, Kirsten was working and she was wonderful! She helped me design and made suggestions. She even helped look up solutions online for me and printed a sample so I could see what it would look like. She took her time and helped me even though the store was about to close. I found that I needed a clearer picture, so I told her I would go back the next day to print what I needed. The next day JESSICA was working on the counter and she was the rudest, most unhelpful employee I could have encountered. She's probably the one everyone on these reviews is complaining about. She refused to help and said she was going to close the desk at 9pm and it was 8:45pm but she still refused to help. I told her I just needed a quick print and she wouldn't budge. So I had to leave and I was so disappointed because I needed my printing job the next day. Luckily, I went to WALMART the next day and they were so friendly and helpful. Both women at the desk were so sweet and printed my stuff immediately because they knew it was urgent. It was also cheaper!! The one employee who went above and beyond in assisting me was Jessica at the printing service area. This is my neighborhood Staples located right down the street from me. I came by today to check out two things: a tax program to do my taxes, and a new office chair because my old one has not been to friendly on my back. When I walked in, they had all the tax programs right in front. I normally used Tax Cut but it is now H&R Block, I saw Turbo Tax, and a new one that, I am not familiar with, "Tax Act." Turbo Tax was the most expensive of the three and Tax Act was the cheapest at $29.99 which included Federal and State with free electronic files for both. The H&R Block was $44.99. Not wanting to leap into a new product, I decided to wait and do a little research and a comparison between the programs. Next, I went to check out the office furniture. As I walked over there, and employee asked if I needed and help, and I politely said no thanks. They had a good selection of office chairs. I decided on the chair that had good lumbar support and higher back support, so I can lean back on it comfortably. The chair, leather executive high-back chair was on sale for $199 from $299. The chair is very comfortable and I will probably fall asleep on it from time to time. My shopping experience was great and so was the service. Eric went above and beyond to help me print a few articles I needed for a very important college paper due in the morning. I am not tech savvy nor did I have a PDF for them and he found a way to make it work. He spent about 15 minutes helping me. I cannot express how truly grateful I am for this associate. Worst customer service. Went in to drop off four large heavy boxes for shredding, ship a package, discard a nicad battery, and look for a pen refill. Couldn't take shredding cuz some system was down, couldn't ship cuz that system is also down, not taking batteries cuz they need more training to know which batteries they can and can't take. They only took the shredding cuz I made a huge stink about not wanting to load them back in my car and go elsewhere. But then they expected me to shove the papers into a little slot in a locked bin which I've never had to do before. Again made a stink and they said they'd do it for me this time only. I don't blame them for computer systems being down; that happens. The problem is no one cared and did not want to help find a workaround or help me at all until I got testy. No concern at all for how much a disaster this visit was and how it was inconveniencing me. I didn't bother looking for the pen refill cuz I didn't want to know what snafu that would reveal, Addendum - service here used to be fantastic. Don't know what changed. I went in last week after a long day. I needed something printed for work. Now when I say I'm not computer savvy, I really mean it. The girl at the printer center wasn't the most helpful. I was getting frustrated because I felt like she didn't want to really help me. She said my file was too big and I needed to buy a USB. I asked if there was someone that could come and help me cause I had no idea what I was doing or how to transfer the file. She radioed someone and along came Leo. He was so helpful and patient with me. He helped me picking out a USB and he helped me print out the manuals that I needed. He stayed with me and made sure I was taken care of.
