I needed a same day engraving on a red-line pendant for my firefighter son, who just received a special promotion. I wanted to give it to him at the ceremony the next day. I had been to 3 other businesses nearby and they all said no way could they do it that quickly. Plus they wanted to charge a lot for a rush order. Brennton, from El Cajon Print, was willing to do the job overnight for me. While checking on the font and engraved message, he went to the back of the store and came back with the job already done!! It took all of 20 minutes and he did not rip me off for doing this on the spot! He exceeded my expectations and saved me valuable time in not coming back for it the next day. I am struggling to find anything positive about El Cajon Print. My husband started a suspended ceiling business in 1991. I wanted to have our annual company Christmas card reflect his accomplishment. JASMINE was in charge of the design. The 1st proof she sent was in a font I can only describe as old western. Our logo is very modern. She layed it out in a ridiculous design with typos and no spacing in one spot. I then emailed her and suggested a better layout, adding the font was old fashioned. I suggested "something like Cambria" She then sends me another proof where she changed the layout, using Cambria, (didn't even try on her own!) corrected everything I had to point to her, but leaving the years in the old west font! I had to email her again to get that straightened out. So, she finally sends us the final product. I wasn't really thrilled with the outcome, but we had a time crunch to get them in the mail in time for Christmas. My husband picked up the cards. SO, the sentiment is at the top 1/3 of the card. Our Logo and the wording I requested with it takes up so much of the rest of the card there was literally nowhere for us to sign them! I called the same day my hubby picked them up and s/w the owner, LEO. He said he would talk to Jasmine the next day and get back to me. He implied that it was MY fault that the logo and wording were too big, that I should have noticed the size of it. I told him that if I viewed it on my phone, tablet or PC, they would all look different sized. Well, here we are 3 weeks later and no word from either of them. The only way for me to put this situation into perspective is this: if LEO at El Cajon Print hired my husband to replace his ceiling, it would be as if Leo/Jasmine picked out the tile, then my husband left it there for them to design the layout and install it themselves! read more

I have done a great deal of business with El Cajon Printing. My experiences with this business has had both a positive and negative aspect. Both have revolved around communications and access. When going in to get a project done, it revolves around whether the owner, Leo, is in the store. If not, you rarely get an answer to your project and will have to return at a later date/time when Leo is available. It appears he is the only one who can price out a project. When Leo is available, good things can happen. He has a number of ideas, and can help make a good idea - great. It's just unfortunate that you end up going to the store at least 2-3 times just to get a project done. Cost wise I have found them to be about 15-20% cheaper on most projects, but if you add in the time & bother in having to return numerous times, El Cajon Print may not be worth it to you. Lastly is their hours. While it may be a family business, being only open Monday through Friday severely limits access to their business. I work M-F and being able to come in on a Saturday would really help me out. I have had to take business elsewhere just because they aren't open on Saturdays. I like doing business with El Cajon Printing due to the personal service and being a local business. When I do have a project now, I have to think whether or not making the multiple stops will be worth the projects success and cost. read more

This family owned buisness is truly amazing. They are friendly and just awesome not only in their business dealings but as individuals as well. I have a Mailbox #347 with them for almost a year, I had a few deaths in the family and on Feb. 2, 2019 I was Diagnosed with something at the moment has no cure. I can not explain how comforting it was to have my mail and what not taken care of among all these difficult times and the actual care they have for their customers. I went in to El Cajon Print to get some backstage passes made for a charity event featuring my band, and Jasmine was awesome! She took the time to explain all the options they had as far as paper types and thickness, etc., what would work best for what I needed, and even showed me examples of how the passes would turn out. I didn't want the flimsy stock that some other places offer. In no time, she came back with the finished product and they were perfect! I really believe that the few bad reviews here are from competing print shops because this place could not be better. It is a family operation and feels that way. They messed up on my flyers and printed them out and when i called them to tell them they said it was my fault for not checking there work?? really?! so then i said fine print me out half of my order correct like i had instructed them TO IN THE FIRST PLACE and they said NO!!!
