I like that they have 2 self checkouts for Amazon. I also like that they don't mind helping you if the self help is full. They get busy but are efficient. Joyce is very helpful and knowledgeable. This is probably the most cramped UPS Store location I've been to. The parking in front is not generally a good idea because it's located next to the entrance/exit of the busy shopping center. I park farther away to avoid the Tesla bros and oversized trucks zooming in and out without a care.. They do notary services here, and I've been stuck waiting behind that a couple times. I'm guessing because there's not a lot of space for extra stuff or something. The service is friendly enough, but I only come in when I have to go to Santee anyway. I mainly just come by after I go to Costco because it's the same road you use to get out or into Costco from Mission Gorge, just the opposite side of Mission Gorge on Olive. read more

15 days for ground shipping of a watch. 8 days past the expected date from California to Michigan. Item showed it was in Chicago 4 days into shipping then back in California a few days later. No refund on shipping and was told this isn't abnormal after being given an expected day of 5-6 days. Go with FedEx next time. read more

What an absolute money grab. I needed some school pictures cut and I asked for scissors, apparently for the safety of all those in the store customers are not allowed to handle scissors. It was $15 to cut four pictures. The sales associate was professional, if not curt. I gave him a look because it seemed ridiculous and he said " you can give me that look all you want,but, I'm still not handing you scissors" if you're looking for a great place to ship items, check out the Postal Annex on University and La Mesa Blvd. I was also never told when my items would arrive- if you're charging $19 to ship, you should let the customer know when the recipient should be expecting the package. read more

From my husband; My AT&T internet router had to be replaced today, which required me to drop off the defunct unit at my nearest UPS location. I arrived at the 9625 Mission Gorge Road UPS store, and found 4 other customers ahead of me in line. Luckily, I waited less than 2 minutes due to the efficiency of Randy and his coworkers: Billy, Nahi, Nathan, and Yahdy. Randy helped me finalize the entire transaction, printed the receipt, and shelved the router in less than 3 minutes, while providing outstanding customer service with a sterling personality to match. I wish more of my retail environment experiences were as expedient and friendly as this one was. read more

Giving 3 stars because I WISH UPS would all get on the same page when it comes to Amazon returns. Some franchises accept whatever you bring them and all you have to do is show the person behind the counter your QR code. The lady behind the counter at the Santee (Mission Gorge Rd) location wouldn't take my return as presented saying that they are not allowed to take Amazon packaging and proceeded to take the skirt i was returning out of mailer I received it in. I asked her to just throw the mailer away and she said they couldn't do that either. Then she forced me to take a receipt which I didn't want. She also made me brighten my screen as she couldn't scan the QR code and that didn't work either.... The location in Lakeside I normally take my stuff to takes the packaging as is. Never force me to take a receipt. I will probably avoid this location in the future which is unfortunate because I've never had any problems with the Mission Gorge UPS in the past. read more

I've been using this store for all my package returns. Anytime I've come in I'm greeted with friendly service, everyone seems pretty happy when I come in. For the past several months I've returned my Temu items here, as well as Amazon, and they've always scanned my QR code and packaged my stuff up, put the label on and wished me a good day. Despite living down the street, I come here specifically because of how I'm treated. Today I came in with two returns, and was greeted by a young kid, surprisingly with attitude. I felt a different vibe approaching the table. He scanned my code and immediately told me they wouldn't be giving me any packaging for the items I brought in. Confused I asked what had changed since I've come here for months for returns and never had issues. The kid was short, and dismissive and told me it wasn't the stores problem, and specifically returns from Temu ESPECIALLY were not packaged by them and it wasn't their responsibility. I was kind of blown away by how he spoke to me. I questioned what he said and with attitude, turned the screen towards me showing me the code I provided was for a shipping label and that again, they didn't provide packaging and he didn't know what to tell me. At this point I'm over arguing over a shirt. I repeated no one has told me this before or given me any issues and asked for a way to contact the manager. He then told me he doesn't give out the managers personal information or number and I could call the store next week. I asked for his name and with more attitude the kid tells me "Braxton" and moves on to packing other things before he's done finishing talking to me. I left feeling some kind of way. I know stores hire kids for cheaper wages, but sometimes it leaves issues as far as customer service. I'm not sure if Braxton was having a bad day, but I'm not sure I'll be coming back to this location. I'll be contacting UPS customer service about this experience too. I came to the store to drop some packages. The employee who took my packages was very rude with me when I told him I had another package in the car. I mentioned that such behavior is not how he should talk to customers. The other employee started attacking me and said, "Get the shit out of here, and he was yelling at me, and the first one replied back, Just ignore him." And when I said, Why are you yelling?" he replied back, "Leave and never come back. You are not welcome here, you piece of shit." This is absolutely not acceptable service. Today I was at our USPS trying to get my taxes sent. I needed a pen with blue ink but couldn't find one. I took a chance and drove over to The UPS store here next to Vons in Santee. I explained to the clerk, Nathan G., that I wanted to purchase a pen with blue ink. Nathan handed me a pen and said, "Here, take it." I signed the papers and returned back to the line. I called for help with a package that had several failed deliveries (during normal work hours) that required a signature. I was hoping to pick up the package instead at the santee UPS location. The person that answered the phone said "I can't help you at all. It's a totally different company that's deals with that" and basically hung up. It was very poor customer service. UPS should reconsider its workflow to accommodate its customers needs or at the very least have employees help customers navigate how to get in contact with someone that can help them. read more

I had high hopes for this store since it has been remodeled but when I went in today to have a document notarized, the gal behind the counter, giggled and laughed with the other young man then walked a way and spoke to someone in the back. The gal came out and said, "he (the notary) said he is off now, he was off at 2:00pm." This is all find and good, but it would have been nice to have said, "I am so sorry, the notary just got off, have you tried, (another notary nearby)." Because I did not use any services at this UPS Store #4287, maybe this review is really aimed at UPS Corporate Offices. However, when the UPS Store website offers online appointments for notary services, one would think that the actual store is notified. I even received a reminder email for my appointment. Unfortunately when I arrived at UPS Store #4287 on Saturday and stated that I was there for my 2:30 PM notary appointment, the representative hastily and unapologetically informed me that the website is in no way connected to this store and that they do not honor any online appointments. Worse I was told, the notary that does work at that store might be in on Monday and that I needed to come in at 9:00 AM because they did not make appointments--everything was first come, first served. Pro Tip: If you EVER want a customer to return to your store instead of writing a bad review of your store on Yelp!, then figure out how to connect the corporate website to the individual stores AND at least apologize for the grave mistake. So yesterday I had to return an Amazon purchase. They said to take it to a UPS store in and usually I pull up the QR code before I leave my house. (Oops, I forgot.) so while I was waiting in line, I was trying to pull up my QR code on my Amazon app and even though the app had a my name and my husbands name, but none of our history of what we bought. So I start panicking while I was in line let four or five people in front of me because I could not get my app to cooperate and in a last ditch effort, I went up to the clerk and explain to her that I couldn't get my phone to cooperate. In about 3-7 seconds she figured out that my apps thought I was in Australia. The persons name was Randy and honestly she deserves a raise. I couldn't figure out why my Amazon account kept telling me that they couldn't deliver to the address. Apparently it was confused on my American address in Australia. The only thing I could figure is my butt was very busy. Apparently it had fantasies of living in Australia probably because of Trump but... My day was totally rescued by Randy the UPS clerk. I would say she goes above and beyond her official job, description, friendly, and a lifesaver. I just want to say because we use Amazon at our house all the time. I totally recommend this UPS store in the Vons shopping center on Mission Gorge Road in Santee. And I begged the owners to please give their most valuable employee Randy a raise. Thank you. I spend a lot of money at UPS for my company ($15000+ a month) and I give this store a lot of my business but that won't be the case anymore. Sam, Megan and the "manager" Brandy are all terrible at customer service and they're all too irresponsible for their jobs. Last year had an entire case of wine disappear and neither this store or corporate was interested in helping me figure out what happened...even though I had proof it was delivered to this location. So stopped having any deliveries sent here. Then today went there for passport photos since it says on their website and signs inside the location that say they provide that service, waited in line to be told they don't do that here...I suggested they take down the signage and listing of the service on Yelp and was told it was corporate's problem not the franchises problem. I came into this UPS store for an Amazon return only because my normal UPS store was closed. I went up to the counter with my QR code ready to go as I always do, and the employee at the counter very rudely just said that wouldn't work and to tap on return instructions. He then informed me that the return was supposed to be boxed up and that I would be liable for damages if it was damaged in shipping, despite Amazon telling me the exact opposite. Amazon instructs you to bring it in unboxed and just show the return code. I've done these returns a few dozen times and i love my normal UPS store, but this employee was really rude and could have easily explained things in a kind way. Apparently the second employee working can't process shipments and the other employee is doing a long line of notary services. So there is an idle employee doing busy work while there is a line of 10 people waiting for the notary to finish with multiple people looking for notary work.
