Since the local Post Office is closed on Saturdays, I was so happy to see that Postal Annex was there and open. The staff was super friendly. I'd never asked for printing the mailing label, but it was handled super quickly. They offer all the regular mailing supplies and some greeting cards, but there are also small decor and other miscellaneous items. Maybe next time I'll look around! read more

Usually this place is great, however last week, their employee Erin was so unprofessional and rude and disrespectful. I understand they have to ask certain questions about content of packages, this time it was liquor, however after that, Erin asked only myself and my husband (the only non-white customer in the store) if we were shipping drugs. We called a few minutes after we left and made sure our packages went out and complained. The owner said she was only Joking and after speaking with Erin, she was completely dismissive and said we were the suspicious ones because we asked them to print out a label. Just how stupid can you be? She then called us back about 30 min later and gave a completely hollow and sociopathic apology and defended her question. I get it, maybe its a joke to them, but its not funny. Its rude and unprofessional and quite frankly very stupid to do. Erin was very clearly either drunk or high on prescription pills as she kept rocking back and forth, stumbling and completely had no common sense when asked to do a basic task like printing labels. I understand the workforce is not the greatest, but shame on Postal Annex for having someone like this working while clearly inebriated on something they should not be on while working. I would rather drive further into El Cajon than ever utilize this store ever again. read more

I needed to get some Notary signatures. I called this place, First, I got a friendly voice over the phone.... awesome, always a selling point for me... Then.... "You do not have to make an appointment for Notary, just come on in"... They have a Notary on staff at all times... spectacular... We went in, got the Notary, the lady, I think her name was Rose, noticed we had some errors on the paperwork... we corrected, so we thought...... reasonable prices.... Fast forward about three days...... we had to come back in because our paperwork was turned back to us due to "errors" ... The lady remembered us, adjusted the paperwork, with a SMILE... and authorized another Notary (at no charge) ... We were so thankful... how nice of her... read more

i had two large packages full of Christmas presents to mail. I will take the blame for waiting until the 17th to ship these from Alpine to Hawaii. so i didn't expect a miracle. we live right by a post office, but chose Postal Annex to see what the different rates would be (UPS vs USPS or FedEx). for both boxes i paid 131 dollars (they weighed 12 lbs each). i expected to pay a lot and that's not even why i'm upset. I was given a tracking number and was told i could get UP TO DATE info on my packages. i checked online, the USPS had info saying they had been picked up and were enroute to the destination. One was from Richmond, CA and the other from Bell Gardens, CA. when i called USPS i was told that i purchased the bare minimum shipping and that did not come with the updated tracking info. Just pick up and delivery info. so basically, i paid 131 dollars to get NO info? never again, i'll just stick with my local post office. Maybe someone should tell the people at that store to explain a bit more when processing a customer. I was VERY clear i didn't know what i wanted. ...he also told me that if i chose UPS it would be 250 dollars per package. 1st update: i spoke to the 'corporate' offices for Postal Annex. They are based out of San Diego. The man i spoke with said that apparently i was given the equivalent of 4th class mail. Basically, if it'll fit on the truck (or however they are mailing them) then it goes. so, since my packages were BIG, they are the last to go out. (it would have been awesome if the clerk had INFORMED me that i had other options! He told me that he'd talk to 'Rose' (the owner?) of the Postal Annex in Alpine and that she'd call me back if they wanted to do something more for me. I'll be sure not to hold my breath. Today is December 29th, and the packages have yet to show up in Hawaii. 9:30 pm Dec 29th. Got a text from USPS that one of the packages arrived at the post office in Hawaii. the other shows it's still in Bell Gardens CA. 1pm (Hawaii time)Dec 30th. Daughter got one package. no sign (or notification) of the other package. and NO contact from the owner of Postal Annex in Alpine Dec 31st, and NO package. still. i received a msg from Rose the owner. She said that this is the first she's heard of my complaint. I called the corporate office 2 or 3 days ago and informed them. they said they'd call Rose. I emailed The VP of the company and then i got an message from the owner. While i agree that this is USPS's problem in the long run, ALL of the could have been avoided if Postal Annex in Alpine had been on the ball and offered me better than something akin to 4th class shipping. FINALLY received the 2nd package January 7th. This all could have been avoided if the employee had given me ALL the shipping options. Won't be using them again ps. I have used this postal annex several times for a variety of issues and they gave ALWAYS come through!!! When I rate companies, I normally don't give anyone 5 stars, but I make an exception here. As I wrote, I have used this place several times and they have come through EVERYTIME!!! ie; banners and a couple of diagrams to be enlarged. The quality was excellent! There are many, many negative reviews (my previous review included) which are trapped inside the filter thing. Check the filtered reviews. The level of customer support in this place is the worst I have ever encountered. I thought I was bringing business to their store. I had money in my pocket, wanted to ship some things, and thought we could establish a mutually beneficial business arrangement (you know, based on the nature of their business). They (the people working inside this business) seemed extremely pissed-off and bothered that I had the nerve to walk through their door, and then tried to discuss mailing a box. In addition to being visibly angered, they resorted to insults and name calling. Really. You had to be there to believe the absolutely incredibly hateful treatment I received here. Be forewarned! And if you absolutely MUST enter this establishment, I suggest you request a peace officer escort. read more

I mailed a box of important books form this Postal Annex to Michigan and the unfortunately, the box was returned to my home Postal Annex in San Diego. I called Postal Annex Alpine and the owner went out of his way to figure out what went wrong. He drove over 60 miles to look at the box and even took it to the post office to try to figure out what happened. Turned out the post office made the error and Postal Annex did not do anything wrong. I was really impressed with the level of service and would recommend this postal annex to anyone. read more

I came in with two small packages to mail, i asked for the cheapest way possible. What was it? $15.00 to send a box not even a pound... But get this... I've been using this Postal Annex exclusively for over 13 years. I have bought personal items, had banners for sports teams, copied documents, the list goes on and on. I also drop off packages and I almost always have to pay $1 just to drop them off. So today when I went to drop off 2 more packages I didn't have any cash so while I was fumbling around my purse to find loose change I realized it was not going to amount to $2. I pulled out my debit card and was told it is a $5 minimum. Really why do you have to make it so difficult. How about just telling me no problem this time. read more
