If I could, I would DEDUCT stars from this "establishment"...HUGE DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES ALERT...!!! This Postal Annex was under the same ownership for years, and was only recently sold to new owners...Apparently they think that everyone who ever did business there has completely forgotten how well it was operated previous to this disaster taking over...She has very large visions of grandeur as to the level of power she possesses by way of owning a stamp store, but I guess you take what you can get...I was told I had to fill out a FORM to mail a box; REALLY...? Ok, I'll back the line out the door to fill out your form; whatever, just mail the package already, right...? But no, I fill out the form COMPLETELY as I am told HAS TO BE DONE or they cannot accept the package, including a box asking for the value of the contents...NOWHERE does it say you are authorizing INSURANCE by way of this value; and when asking the owner DIRECTLY for the amounts I had to choose from, she did everything she could do to get around telling me HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST to mail...Never have I seen such a tap dance, and an avoidance of eye contact with me; all she wanted to do was focus on whining about how tough her job is...Finally, I got an amount out of her; which was ridiculous, in excess of $15.00 for a package weighing less than two pounds with regular shipping and what I thought was nothing else...It took some prodding to finally get out of her that over FIVE DOLLARS of that charge was for Insurance I never asked for, never authorized, never wanted, and only "declared" a value on their form because I was told it was the law...Talk about feeling ripped off; save for the fact she didn't get away with it, but I won't ever set foot in this establishment again...Walking in the door feels as if you're being interrogated; I no sooner stepped in, and I was being questioned by some kid who again, has visions of grandeur...Could be the worst "Customer Service" ever in Alpine; a town where even GOOD businesses sometimes don't last, this is definitely the epitome of a last resort... read more

I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS: Alpine Postal Annex boxed and shipped my package via UPS. The box failed in transit and UPS lost half of my package contents. I filed a claim with UPS. UPS only refunded the shipping and not the fair market value of the lost item. I filed an appeal. UPS denied my appeal and sent me back to, "their authorized shipping agent Alpine Postal Annex" to remedy my loss. Alpine Postal Annex owner Gregg Richards requested UPS search again for my item after I submitted photos, receipts, serial numbers, and a statement of facts. A week later it was still missing. Mr. Richards believed the loss was not his problem and pointed me back to UPS. I told him UPS pointed me to him as their authorized agent. He agreed that was the "process" but since we did not declare value at the time of shipment, we were out of luck. I stated someone was negligent and needed to take responsibility to either find my item or pay me fair market value. Mr. Richards said that someone was not him. I then said I would seek media assistance because this "process" was simply wrong and mistreated customers. Mr. Richards then said that if I sued him I would get nothing and he would see to it that I got nothing from UPS too if I went to the media or named him in any action. I contacted Annex Brands, (619-563-4800) corporate office for all Postal Annex's. President and CFO Patrick Edd took my call. The following day, VP of Marketing Steve Goble contacted me. He listened to my story, reviewed my initial claim, and refunded me for my loss and shipping as a gesture of goodwill. During our discussion he apologized for the handling of this situation by Alpine Postal Annex. Based on other negative reviews of this business, I strongly suggest that if you have an unresolved problem with this business you contact Annex Brands and complain. Perhaps enough complaints will modify business practices for this store. However, I commend Annex Brands for superior customer service and response. read more

We have been using this Postal Annex location for our business mail address for a few years now and are quite pleased with the service. The staff has been very helpful and every package I have mailed using their Fed Ex or UPS services has always arrived on time and in good condition. They are a one-stop shop with their mailing, fax, copying and notary services. I have also seen them making banners on site for customers and I have been able to purchase some nice cards and small gifts during visits to their store. Once again, great service at this locally run business. Rose was a delight! I was shipping to the Czech Republic, and she was very helpful in helping me pack and ship my package at a very reasonable rate. Nice that they offer multiple options. Love the friendly service in this store, and appreciate the extended hours during the holidays. Plus, they always seem to have a fresh stock of adorable gift items and cards for all ages. I so appreciate this store being in alpine. They have helped me pack up impossible packages( post office does not do this). I can send things UPS. And get high numbers of flyers printed there. I wasn't aware of the hours this store was open and wasn't aware that I had come in just before closing time. I didn't get their names but the gentleman and lady treated my last minute project with as much care and interest as if it were their own never rushed me and put my project together to perfection. The Calendar came out beautifully done and their warm, welcoming cheerful and professional manner was delightful! Second trip in was to see if they could do the one rate box like the post office - again the best service around - she saved me half on my shipping by suggesting a different shipping method. In and out in less than 5 minutes and left with a smile on my face. I will always use this Postal Annex for any future needs! read more

I love the convenience of having a Postal Annex in Alpine for all my shipping, printing and graphic art's needs, banners, keys and the list goes on. I was in a bind last year when I created a banner from an online source and we had a lot of changes on the team with names, the Postal Annex helped me add new names to the banner with a minimal charge. Long story short I will never go anywhere else for creating a banner. This year the banner was created from one on their graphic arts personnel and I received so many compliments (also you can not beat their price). I always support my community stores but the Alpine Postal Annex also supports me with my needs. read more

I hate to do this, but its been years in the making. I just kept hoping it would get better!! Customers beware! This place is awful it's not that the store is awful but the customer service (Greg) is horrendous!!! Greg the owner, he's terrible, weird, inconsiderate,nosy and prying. When they first bought the business he (Greg) was somewhat tolerable but now I can't stand to go in there!! I have had everything from copies, to faxed items, to signs made and everything in between and every time their price INCREASES and customer service DECREASES!!! BTW Their cost of notary service is astronomical!! Greg has been so rude on so many occasions, and when anyone does try to actually be helpful, Greg steps in and says " no we don't do that or that's not the right price or its going to take longer then that. But still after everything during five or six years of being treated awful. I was willing to overlook all these things (and many many others) and I continued to go to the Postal Annex here in Alpine because it is convenient (and they know it's convenient I think that's why they treat people like this and feel like they can get away with it) however today was the last straw! Their customer service is atrocious and Greg is so nasty, intrusive and rude!!! Common human decency is not even in this guys vocabulary and he should not be running a business where you interact with customers on a daily basis read more

The store is filled with costume jewelry and cat magnets making it difficult to get in and out with packages. The staff is difficult to deal with and there are often waiting lines for service for no apparent reason. The operating hours are short and they often open late or close early. read more
