Sadly I wish I could give a zero. The owner of this business is beyond rude and disrespectful. I went in to return my Amazon order. I watched the owner push an Amazon delivery man. This turned into an argument to which the owner made rude comments about the delivery man to another customer. When it was my turn, I placed my Amazon return on the scale. He asked where my box was. I said I no longer had it. He asked why I would throw it away. I explained that this particular item was in a large box with several other items. To which he said, "then where is that very large box?" Again, explained I did not have the box and according to the directions from Amazon, I was to just return the item to UPS WITHOUT a box. He said I was lucky he found a box or he would charge me. Then he proceeded to belittle me and tell me that I should always keep the very large boxes. As I waited for my return receipt, he kicked several packages on the floor and told his employee to pick them up as they were in his way. I've never experienced a more rude and disrespectful person. He not only made the customers feel bad but he was terrible to his employees. I'm not sure how UPS is ok having this type of owner represent their company. read more

All the negative reviews about the rude unprofessional staff are 100% correct. I went into this place 2 times and will never go again. Heads up to the staff, if you're that miserable in your line of work, change it. That goes especially for you dave, you should probably sell the store and retire. read more

RUDE RUDE RUDE! The old man, never got his name unfortunately, was so rude I was speechless. I walked in to send a Verizon prepaid return and stood behind a gentleman being helped by a young lady. The old man was at the other computer whistling and humming and said "hey how's it going". I took this as in he was going to help me so I walked up said "good how are you? I have these two boxes from Verizon but"... he cuts me off and went "whoa whoa whoa I was just asking how it's going I didn't mean you could come up here and attack me, I'm busy checking in boxes." So I said sorry I can wait. He proceeded to finish up and then says ok. I try to ask him about the 2 packages as they had the same tracking number (Verizon had issues with printing labels). I had just gone into Verizon and they told me to check with ups and if it was a problem then both phones could just go into 1 box. As I'm trying to explain this to him he grabs the boxes, scans the first then THROWS it to a pile of boxes. He goes to scan the second and it doesn't work. Finally he hears me say they have the same tracking number and says "that's a problem." He grabs both boxes and put them on the counter directly behind me. So I went and put both phone into one box. I turn around and he's helping someone else but the young lady was available. I give her the box, she scans it and hands me the label and he comes over freaking out that he already checked it in and gave me a label. I said no you didn't. To which he says "I gave you a label and you threw it away". So I repeated "no you did NOT give me anything..." He cut me off before I could say anything else (there was a whole lot more I wanted to say to him), says "well you have one now" and winks and walks away. Just a complete ass. Old guy that works in the store was very disrespectful towards me and my property/ packages I was sending with no respect I asked if he can keep the packages right side up and there are many indicators arrow wise and that it is perishable. He said "are you living in a dream?" "If you think the UPS drivers are gonna care about your package then you're living in a dream" extremely unprofessional and beyond rude and disrespectful I won't be coming here again and I ship out 15-20 packages a week for my business. I was so shocked by his downright rude comments and lack of care this guy needs to get fired but he is so old something tells me he's been there for a while and will end up being the manager reading this. If you are reading this review sir maybe take your job just a little more seriously and respect peoples packages more just because you aren't gonna respect people packages doesn't mean the drivers won't. Terrible customer service! I had to wait fifteen minutes while the manager was conversing with family members over the phone. Everyone could hear the conversation, there were two other people waiting, all of us being ignored. When somebody finally acknowledged me, my package was was open. I can't say with certainty it was their doing, but it was an overnight of medical supplies, and never once the packages had been opened at other ups locations. To top it off they charged me to pick it up in spite of the fact that I showed them I was a UPS choice member, claiming they were a franchise, and it was their store policy. Such wonderful customer service. I went in at 8:00am today and was greeted by John, I believe, although I didn't catch his name. I needed to print an eBay shopping label, and although I couldn't access it through the store's WiFi due to the sensitive shipping info on their network, he gave me an email address to the store and I went to the Starbucks next door and promptly sent it to him. He printed it for me, wrapped my package up both in an envelope (with cardboard on either side to prevent it from breaking) AND the medium flat rate box I'd paid for. He was super kind and nice, and I will continue to go back to this UPS store!! read more

Although I have come into this location many times without issue, since moving up to Encinitas back in October, it was my horrible experience this past Saturday that is causing me to leave a one star review. I was basically bullied by the older white man with grey hair, that opened the store on Saturday morning. After waiting for the doors to open at 9AM, I went in to simply send a couple return packages to Amazon. I was one of two customers and saw two workers at two different registers. After beginning to walk to the second register, after being kindly greeted by the woman, I was quickly told by the older man at the other register that "she was not going to help me and that I needed to get in line behind the man he was already helping." I was fairly caught off guard by the sharp tone, but brushed it off and got in line behind the other guy. Once I got up to the register, I told the man that I had 3 packages to return to Amazon and that I had the return labels printed out and ready to go. He all but cut me off by saying "then you need to go over to that table and get them on your packages." Putting the labels on was obviously not at all a big deal, but it was once again, the man's demeaning tone that was completely inappropriate. I told him that I was sorry and that this was typically how I brought my return packages in, to which he quickly replied "fine, I will do YOUR work for you!" I was legitimately shocked. I even looked over at the other employee (a blonde woman) to see if she was listening to him speak to customers this way. I asked him if I had offended him in some way to make him act so rudely to me, and he said no, that he just expected me to "bring my packages in ready to actually be shipped." At this point, I just stopped talking, rather than getting myself into hot water. After getting my receipt, I left the store feeling like I had been harassed for no reason. I'm not sure what this man's problem was, but in an attempt to never cross paths with him again, I will never be coming back to this location. read more

At 11:00 this morning, not only was I greeted by John at this store with a smiling face and cheerful attitude, but he was certain to help me in any way possible. Not only did he take care of an urgent 20 page fax I required, offering a discount I could not refuse, he also made sure to box up a care package (for my daughter to be sent to Davis, CA) packing with bubble wrap where absolutely NOTHING would move in the box! Do not attempt to utilize the services of this store in the late afternoon. The owner, Dave, is rude, an autocrat, and unhelpful. The desk area where the cash registers are located was recently made into a Notary Desk--the first time I realized this was when I brought in several boxes for shipping return and he made me move them to another location in the store so that the Notary Desk would be "open" even though there were no Notary customers in sight. Subsequently, I have been in the store several times when his very helpful daughters and other staff members didn't give a mention to move to the "Notary Desk." He was not present on any of those subsequent occasions.T Today I went into the store and placed three packages on the countertop and he made me move them to what he now refers to as the "Prep Table!" Again, no other customer was there--he had tape and plastic pouches laid out on the table and indicated they were "free" and so was the "help." Unfortunately, when I moved my packages, I mixed up my shipping return labels. He refused to offer assistance indicating that if he had been packing the boxes the mix-up would not have occurred. (If I hadn't had to move the boxes the mix-up would not have occurred!) His autocratic nature, combined with OCD, is a terrible mixture for running a small business operation. His two daughters work there in the mornings and into the early afternoons. My suggestion if you want to use this UPS location, only visit the store when the daughters are present. They are wonderful and very customer service oriented. Dave--not at all!!! I will never use this UPS store again even though it is the most conveniently locate to me. read more

I walked, the guy (Dave) knew exactly what I needed. Told me he had cheaper boxes in back and within a minute I was all boxed up and shipped. And he was so nice and efficient I felt compelled to write this review. My wife has had similar experiences where she kept telling about how nice the guy was at the UPS store. She told me that she had her favorite ups store to which I replied, "that's kind of odd to have a favorite ups store when you only ship things, say twice a year." But now I know why she felt so compelled to tell me about this guy. Such a nice dude. I don't normally write yelp reviews but felt compelled with how awesome this guy is at his job. read more

I was in this location last week, just 2 people where working the front desk. While waiting in line, this young woman is helping 3 customers at the same time! And she says hello to everyone, wrapping up boxes, and telling each and everyone. Thank You for being patience welcome to UPS! Wanted to get an important paper notarized and my driver license is expired because of surgery so I showed the guy my passport. He said he could not do it because it is expired. Since my bank and the DMV accepted my expired passport I checked the "National Notary Information Service" of California and it says that as a notary you may accept a driver license not over five years old or a passport expired or not expired. Not only was he wrong about his own business he blew his breath in my face while telling me he could not do it. He wasted my time and he does not have the knowledge it takes to be a notary. I had them pack and ship a desktop computer to NYC. I paid almost $200. Instead, the recipient received a piece of original art! They must have swapped the labels. So now, my daughter is without her computer and someone is missing their original art! Jordan, the owner/manager was extremely rude, made no apologies, and even said, "well, why don't you open up your own UPS store, since you seem to know everything." Do not deal with these people. Of course the computer is insured, but if we have to buy another one, it takes weeks to reinstall everything. And, someone else has my D's computer with tons of personal info on it!
