Her system charged me for a background check and my bank showed the transaction. She said that it did not work. But it was showing pending on my end. She was extremely rude as well as every employee there. They were all yelling at me that I didn't pay. I called my bank and he witnessed how unprofessional the store was and was stunned to hear how they treating me. He offered to be a witness and told me to call police. That's how rude they were. Her system was the problem but she kept yelling that it was my bank who was the problem. No it was her register that was faulting out. I didn't want to pay twice, that is why i called my bank in the fist place, to cancel the transaction because she could not provide a receipt. I eventually cancelled transaction and payed again, but they way I was treated for their service was unacceptable. Everyone working at this UPS store is rude and incompetent. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! Unprofessional and extremely rude! The owner/manager and one of her employees were having a full blown argument in front of the customers. That woman is just nasty the way she speaks down to her employees. Not to mention the way she treated a customer that asked her a simple question. I've been coming to this UPS Store for quite a while, and the only reason I continue to choose this location is because of the employees. They are incredibly hardworking, kind, patient, and always willing to help. They consistently provide excellent customer service, and I truly appreciate them. Unfortunately, my experience with the owner has been the complete opposite. Every interaction I've had with her has been unpleasant. She comes across as entitled, dismissive, and unnecessarily confrontational. Instead of trying to help customers, she often speaks in a belittling and disrespectful manner, making it seem like helping customers is an inconvenience. Today was the worst experience yet. I came in to drop off several Amazon returns, as I regularly do. One of the return labels had a small tear along the edge, but all of the important information was still visible. Instead of calmly explaining any issue, she immediately raised her voice, pointed her finger in my face, and scolded me for bringing in a package with a torn label. The level of aggression was completely unnecessary. I told her that the reason I continue coming to this location is because her employees are always so kind and helpful, while every time I deal with her, she refuses to process at least one of my returns or creates an issue where there doesn't need to be one. Rather than addressing my concerns professionally, she became even more defensive, repeatedly stating that she owns the business, that she does a great job, and asking who I was to criticize her. She ultimately yelled at me and told me not to come back. Everyone in the store appeared shocked by how aggressively she handled the situation. It was uncomfortable and completely unprofessional. No customer should be spoken to or treated that way. I sincerely hope the hardworking employees are recognized because they are the reason this location continues to earn my business. I have recently returned several items that do not get returned to Amazon - the employees steal the items from the returns and I am then charged for the 'non-returns.' Will be sending to BBB as well. Came here to this morning to ship a package the service person behind the counter wearing a baseball cap was vacuuming. Even after noticing me, he continued to vacuum probably hoping that I would leave as a customer, so he doesn't have to actually do any work. After a few minutes he stops and provides unfriendly and rude customer service like I was bothering him. Amazing how the owner of such a store does not care about how their employees treat customers. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED WITH REPSECT!!! If being treated poorly is something you are looking for then this the place to take your business. I am writing this review, after lodging a formal complaint with UPS Corporate. Ref: #0259480323. I arrived yesterday, Sun Aug 11, @ 4:45pm to this UPS location. Their published hours of operation for Sundays is 12p - 5p. When I walked up to the door, it was locked. I knocked on the door and the employee opened the door and told me that they were instructed by the owner to close early because they were slow. At 4:45p when I walked up there were 2 additional people needing service and they were very disappointed that the store was closing early. Consequently, I drove 20 minutes out of my way to submit my package today to the Encinitas location since I will never go to the Carlsbad location again. I asked the owner of the Encinitas location if closing early prior to published closing times, is a norm and acceptable by UPS corporate. The answer was absolutely not acceptable. I am assuming that the owner of this particular UPS Carlsbad location is not interested in making money nor paying his employees the additional wage earned for staying open until the published closing time. I am also sharing screenshot of their star ratings with UPS - they should be aware of just how bad the service is there. Not a good look for this particular UPS store. ARE YOU DISABLED OR TERMINALLY ILL, PLEASE BEWARE! WOW! The manager that is on duty this morning has zero issue gaslighting, and provoking someone who has a terminal health condition and has disabilities. SPECTRUM CUSTOMERS BEWARE!! Do not return your equipment to this location. They will return your equipment to AT&T and then argue with you about it and tell you, that you're wrong and that they are right. Obviously there's something wrong with the system that needs to be fixed, because this is a serious problem. The system is freaking wrong, bottom line! Obviously since this has happened to me twice now. I discovered that the last set of equipment that I turned in almost a year ago was also returned to AT&T instead of Spectrum. Now I have a huge mess I need to fix with Spectrum, and the manager thinks he has a right to argue, talk down to me, talk over me, provoke, and antagonize me?! He knows my health condition, because I told him about it so that he could calm down and stop talking over me like he was doing. This interaction has pushed me into further illness. Then he accused me of yelling, when I raised my voice to try and get him to hear me over his nonstop, not listening to me, and trying to talk over me. Someone with proper Customer Service skills would have said, let me look into it, or would have said, maybe there is a problem with the system let me find out. What this guy did was the complete opposite of proper Customer Service skills needed to be a manager. SHAME ON YOU! Get a new job if you can't handle the one you got. I'm dying and I could do 1000 times better at your job. Just because your system isn't working properly doesn't make your customers liars! Grow up, learn proper Customer Service skills, and fix the problem! Your customers should not feel forced into telling you their health conditions and what's going on with their lives just to receive your respect. Spent 30 minutes trying to send a package to my daughter over seas. I knew then I shouldn't have stayed but decided to be patient with the incompetent employee thinking my package is never going to get there. Lo and behold I get the package returned 2 weeks later. Although I love this place and I love people who work here, I ran into the situation with the people that actually walk in there. There was a long line to talk to the people that work there and I just wanted to scan so I went to the left. And there was a lady at the scanner, not paying attention to anybody that was behind her because she was facing the other direction. Facing the wall.and we all thought that she was working with the scanner to scan some things next to her. After a few minutes, the rugs that were going to be deposited and returned for Amazon started to fall towards her, and I told her to LOOK OUT. And then she saw there were people behind her. Were all polite enough to keep our mouth shut while she didn't pay any attention and stood in front of the scanner while looking for something on her phone. So that was bad. Pay attention! Don't block the scanner! So the lady in front of me walked up with the two packages and set them down and then she started the rummage through her phone. SHE WALKED UP With two packages and set them down and then she started rummage through her phone. So I must tell you, I got two packages. I need to scan, that's all I have to do scan them and set them down. It would take about 30 seconds. So after waiting for her to scroll through her phone For several minutes, I said, do you mind if I just scanmy two things? And she said I'm looking for something, with a privileged tone... what a B! And so I wait, and I wait. after all that time, She's scanning, but she can't figure it out. And it's not working and so she's looking towards the three people that are behind the counter, but they are extraordinarily busy because of the very long line. But she doesn't think to say I'm having a problem. Why don't you just go ahead. No that would be too polite. I guess. So when she leans away because she's waiting to talk to somebody, I lean in with my package package. I get one done in 10 seconds and then some lady comes over to help her and she turns and notices me scanning my things andsays, I was using that scanner. I said I'll be done in 30 seconds. And lady seeing drama I am causing, I admit it, grab the lady away and took her to the Cash register. so the lady Managed to cut in front of everybody because she's an idiot. And she's an idiot, not just because she was impolite, but because she waited until she was at the scanner to start to look for things that she order to scan. I have returned many things to Kohls and I always make sure by the time I hit that counter. I am ready to go. There is nothing worse, OK I take it back, cancer, cancer is worse, but aside from cancer. There is nothing worse than someone who doesn't prepare ahead of time while they are standing in line and people waiting. Just the stupidest thing ever. So I leave when I get to the car and I start to bitch to my wife about all of this when I get to the car and she's already coming out because it's so fast to have the people behind the counter do it but I was out before her Because all I had to do was scan two tiny things I was finished in 45 seconds And I was complaining to my wife and once I saw her coming out, I very loudly, so she could definitely hear it, how rude people are that are in the world. That all they had to do was step aside for 30 seconds while they figured things out, because they no idea what they were doing nor are they prepared. I used this store for about a year without any problems. Then this past holiday season, the worst problem ever. UPS lost my package--a package with a value of several thousand dollars. That the package was lost is ultimately a corporate level mistake. However, a new employee at this store had a major role in causing this fiasco. The worst part of it was how I was treated by the manager in response to this fiasco. The manager was astonishingly rude and indifferent to the thoughtless error by her new employee. The manager yelled at me in the store in front of everyone and would not let me express myself or discuss what happened. She refused to take any responsibility for her new employee's mistake. Came here for the witness/notary service. The owner looking woman with a nose stud is the absolute worst. I think her name is Kiron or Kiran or something (pretty sure she wrote a fake 5 star review for her shady business here on yelp.) She was rude to both her staff and me as a customer. Her staff sighed audibly whenever she requested anything btw which was kinda funny to observe. When I showed her the page for her to sign, she started to flip through my trust documents without my consent. And when I told her no, she became angry. The audacity there! Then, while signing, she used her pen to cross out words without asking for permission! I told her no and she became angry again. Seriously what is your issue! I took a picture and showed my attorney and of course now the file is not useable! I have to do it again. I will never come to this location ever again. I hope everyone else stops as well! Helpful and friendly staff, know what they are doing so things move quickly even when a line develops. Have used their notary service a few times and haven't had to make an appointment so having that person as regular staff and usually available makes it really convenient. I dropped off an Amazon return package here at 10:15 am, Thursday 6/23/22. The gentleman who helped me was unable to scan the bar code on my package in order to give me a receipt. I told him that I also had the bar code on my phone. He said that I needed to email it to the store and pay a few dollars for the printing cost. Say what?!?!?!?!?! The super nice lady who was also working there told her coworker that all he had to do was imput the numbers on the bar code of my package into their terminal manually. He refused. I then asked him why couldn't just scan the bar code on my phone? He replied "No, you need to email it to the store." And walked off into their backroom, never to return. I thought, "Whatever" and obliged, It seriously only took me 20 seconds to email the code to the store. I then stood there waiting for another 3-5 minutes, waiting for the guy who was helping me to return. He never did. Finally the super nice and efficient lady finished helping another customer, came over, manually imputted the bar code numbers into their terminal apologized, and gave me a receipt. I seriously don't understand why the guy who was helping me couldn't have just done this himself??? I mean, this is an awesome store, in an awesome location, with, up until this point, great employees. I've always been super nice to everyone here and will continue to patronize this franchise however incidents like this simply do not foster good customer relations. The customer service at this location is very good. Yet I am unfortunately very dissatisfied with the general UPS process and results. First of all, $27.00 to ship a very small square box? Ridiculous. Next time I'm going to the Post Office. Good grief, that's a lot of money for something they do every day for next to nothing for Amazon. And the package still hasn't arrived! I was told the package would be delivered on Thursday, but as of 9:30pm it has not arrived. So the experience was great to start, then the pricing was obnoxious, and the cherry on the cake is they didn't even care to deliver it on schedule they provided to me. Not going to use these folks again, except for Amazon returns. Update Nov.8, 2024 The package arrived, finally. And I forgot to mention that the price quoted for 2nd day delivery was in the range of $75! For a 6" x 6"x 4" box weighing less that a pound. So they lower their prices for Amazon, because they have their own delivery service, but when it is just you and UPS, prepare to get taken to the cleaners. read more

I've had a P.O. box here for close to five years. Aside from offering great service the staff is always friendly and very helpful. Carlsbad UPS Store 0001 must hold the Yelp record for the most negative reviewer ratings. 108 one star (many reviewers stating they would have given zero stars if they could) and 7 two stars. It is baffling why UPS Corporate has not yet yanked Kiran Misra's franchise, as she is an absolute embarrassment to the franchise and in violation of its Brand Standard of providing good customer service. I will file formal complaints with the UPS Corporate Office, the Postal Service, and the Better Business Bureau. The many negative reviews about her contempt for her customers, angry outbursts, rudeness and unprofessional behavior indicate a person who is mentally unstable in addition to simply being incapable of managing a store franchise that is by definition a Customer Service business. As a box holder, my husband and I have witnessed many years of Misra's extreme rudeness to customers, the store's high employee turnover, and ample evidence of substandard employee training. This most recent incident caused us to rent a box at another local UPS Store. In September a winery sent to me an order by mistake. Having shipped thousands of orders and being familiar with the rules, the winery instructed me to tell this UPS store that the customer rejected the order, as this would return the shipment to sender. A week later my correct order was delivered to my box by a different carrier and a different tracking number. Misra without my knowledge or consent, rejected this expensive wine order that came shipped on ice, and had the delivery service return it to sender. She had no authority to do this. My call to the store to ask what had happened was met with much screaming, an incomprehensible tirade from Misra instead of any apology for her intentional misconduct. The US Postal Code Chpt 83 Section 1701 states that a person who knowingly and willfully obstructs any carrier of mail is subject to fine or imprisonment. In obstructing delivery of my purchase, it appears she has broken this law. Most franchise contracts contain a provision that this is grounds for termination of the franchise agreement. While waiting at another UPS store to register for our new mailbox the two people waiting in line with me said that they were quite familiar with Misra's despicable rudeness, which also prompted them to change stores. This store's owner was quite aware of Misra's behavior, having sold many boxes to former Store 0001 customers. read more

Needed Canadian Passport Photos. Called ahead. They offered the service. Turned out to be a complete waste of time and money. New employee, had never even taken a photograph before, poor setup, bad lighting. No knowledge of the standards needed. No address stamp. Wrote address in felt pen on back of photo. Incorrect placement of face, photo washed out. $100 for photo and shipping. Application rejected. Had to start over at a real photographer. Luckily found Total Photo in Solana Beach. They were knowledgeable , fast, photos were night and day better, properly stamped with name, address and date. read more

Attempted to return an amazon item. I was shipped two of the same item in identical boxes. I had return invoices for both. One was accepted. The other was not. They stated that it needed to be in the box it was shipped in and can not be in the actual product box. Again. Both of these boxes were identical product boxes and handed in at the same time. The manager came over and said I wasn't willing to listen to reason after about 2 seconds of speaking to me. I didn't even have a full explanation of why they would not take my return. That came later after they told me to buy a box from them. I contacted amazon as soon as I got home. I was told by amazon to tell this store to take the box and that the store was wrong. Obviously this isn't a review about amazon, but that doesn't make sense..... Bottom line is these two companies do not play well together. Employee was nice, but obviously unable to solve problem. According to Amazon there was no problem. The manager jumped on blaming me immediately without even explaining what the problem was. That is also not how you problem solve. I have used this store routinely for shipping, Amazon returns, shredding, passport photos and Notary Services for many years and it has always been great - easy and friendly, even when it is busy the line moves fast, etc. I am prompted to write a review after a recent interaction regarding a UPS package that I needed to track (I failed to keep the receipt so I could track it myself) . Kiran Misra, the owner, looked up the tracking information and it indicated it had been delivered, however the receiver said they didn't get it. Then Kiran looked up the photo, and although the deliveryman had taken a terrible photo of his feet and the driveway, she suggested that my niece (the receiver) take look and see if she recognized the driveway. While I was doing that she went into their system and started a preliminary tracking request - throughout all of this she was helpful and friendly. Eventually, my niece figured out that her husband had put the package in the garage! I have come to expect friendly, reliable service at this UPS Store, but was truly impressed and greatly appreciate the way I was treated when a problem arose. The package contained a one-of-a-kind gift for my niece's new baby, it wasn't expensive, but I was tense and worried. Kiran's friendly, knowledgable and patient made me feel like I had an advocate in solving the problem - even though in the end, the problem wasn't UPS, but us!
