I kept waiting to do a review as I wanted to give them every opportunity to provide at least a basic level of customer service. Nope. Never happened. Over many visits, I have felt like I am bugging them just to be standing there as a customer trying to ship things. If I ask questions about a cheaper way, or a faster way, or anything, I'm met with short answers and a general lack of helpfulness. The young people that work there seem terrified of getting in trouble. I once asked for tape to secure the edge of my package that had come undone and was told "we're not allowed to". I've asked about a AAA discount - the one the other stores always give - and been told "we can't do that". On my last visit, I purchased a mailing envelope that was marked $4, and was charged $5.50. The young woman said "well it says 5.50 in the register." I was telling her, yes, but look at the wall there. It is clearly marked $4 for that envelope. She agreed, but says she wasn't allowed to make any changes or discounts in the register. She kept looking back to see if the owner was watching her, and as I had already used the envelope, I begrudgingly paid the $5.50 and vowed "NEVER AGAIN"!! So, I won't be back. I know UPS are locally owned small businesses, but you have to do better than this to survive. Step up your service, please! But in the meantime, I'll frequent the UPS store on El Camino, as they are always kind, welcoming and helpful! read more

The UPS store closer to me is my go to for quick copies. I can usually send in my print order online and it's ready in an hour even though the estimate always says much later that day or the next day. This UPS store however completely missed the mark. Thinking I was doing myself a favor I ordered them over a day in advance. Pick up estimate was later that day so when I arrived the following day and they weren't ready I was surprised. (Print order of about 20 sheets of paper) She told me to come back that afternoon, because they weren't ready. I asked how long it would take and exactly when I could come back. She then said I could email them to her and she would do them for me right then. Thankfully I had my laptop in the car with the files. However there isn't any Wifi and I had the most difficult time using my phone as a hotspot in the building. I asked if there was and easier way to do this after struggling and she said "try going outside". Finally I got the prints over to the store email and she printed them. She didn't ask how many of each design I ordered - I had to speak up when she was just printing one by default. She also didn't provide an envelope or anything to carry/protect them them. Four days later I got a notification that my order had been completed. I won't be back to this location for printing needs. read more

This is by far the worst and least helpful UPS I've ever been in. So much so that I never thought I would leave a review for a UPS store but I guess I'm just use to every other store I've ever used being helpful and polite and then after going to this one it was a shock at how petty and rude they were. I've returned many Amazon packages at other ups stores and if something wasn't taped correctly or needed something they every single time would help out no questions asked. This store in Encinitas will try and nickel and dime you for every little thing they can. I had a package recently that needed a strip of tape and they tried charging me for that here. It's just hilarious compared to all the other stores how poor the customer service is here. Will avoid this store any chance I can. Edit: reply to owner: Honestly the fees are the least of the worries, it was just odd being charged for minor things I've never experienced any other ups store do. But the worst problem here is by far the rudeness of the staff. I've dealt with two separate employees who were both short, seemingly annoyed, and offered little to no help with what I needed done. I had a significantly large package to take out of my car and asked if the person working the desk or someone else in the store could help me (the Avenida Encinas location has been incredibly helpful w/ items like this). The gentleman working the front told me to use a dolly. That doesn't help me get the package out of the car! I ended up trying to carry it myself until a kind stranger offered to help me. Their scan prices are exorbitant! The lady who helped me was so unfriendly, and grabs my paperwork, does the scanning and then rings me up for $18!!!! Whatttt? That's insane. For like 18 black and white pages. A little warning would have been great since this pricing is completely bullshit. I went to this store today for ink fingerprints as promoted on their website. I waited in line for ~10 minutes and requested INK FINGERPRINTS from one staff member. She saw the form I brought with me and advised me I would need to wait for the other staff member. After another ~5 minutes he was ready and I requested INK FINGERPRINTS from him. He looked at the form for a few minutes, reading all the fine print. Then he looked at my photo ID and made sure all the details matched those on the form. Then he had me sign & date the form while he witnessed. Then he happily informed me the store does not do ink fingerprints. I advised him the website clearly states they do, and he made me wait while he confirmed the website does clearly state they do. And then he refused again with a smile. They wasted enough time to prevent competent adults at some other business from getting the job done today, and I have to produce a new unsigned & undated copy of the form to sign & date in the presence of said competent adults elsewhere on some other day. BRAIN DEAD, FULL-BLOWN ILLITERATES WITH ZERO COMPREHENSION OF THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES. read more

Small UPS store is conveniently located on the corner of Coast Hwy and Encinitas Blvd. Plenty of parking. One sales clerk there today with four ppl in line and there were issue with the credit card processing machine with the customer before me. Overall, very pleased with service and zipped out quickly with a prepaid label package! Thank you! read more
