Fried Pork Chop
JiMmy P.

We've passed by several times and finally decided to stop in for a visit. When you arrive, you can seat yourself which was convenient. I ordered the pork chop and eggs special, but was disappointed when the food arrived. The pork chop was surprisingly small, more like a kid's portion. Honestly, I was surprised they served it that way. Also, with the constant in-and-out traffic, a few flies made their way inside and unfortunately, a couple tried to join us at our table.

Very good food at a small diner atmosphere. Kind staff was very attentive and friendly with all the guests.

Ybor Salad and Cuban: pick 2

Ordered lunch to go. Decided on the pick 2, Ybor salad and Cuban sandwich for $13.59. I get that its a half salad and half sandwich but for the price, i expected a little bit more. Taste/Flavor was just OK. Person at the counter was extremely friendly and polite. Area was quiet...diner style maybe 15 tables and a bar area. Only 2 other customers in the restaurant at the time. Probably would not go back for lunch because of the portions vs cost but may try once more for Breakfast.

Great food at a very reasonable price. Service is always friendly and prompt. The specials that are offered add a nice variety to their menu. It's a bit small for dining and keep in mind they are very popular so there sometimes is a short wait for a table. They serve Screaming Peacock coffee which is fantastic.

We were in town and I found The Spot on Yelp so we decided to check it out. It's a cute little mom and pop place with small town vibes that I loved. When we arrived there was a short wait and we opted for first available. We waited about ten minutes and were seated outside. The outdoor seating is right next to the highway so it was a little loud at times but overall totally fine. Our server seemed a little bit weeded, we had to ask for things more than once and I eventually stole what I needed from another table that left bc she forgot to bring it. Don't get me wrong, she was still good, she just seemed a little stressed or distracted. I got the coconut french toast which was INCREDIBLE! I didn't need syrup, I just ate it how it came. There was a slight savory aspect that paired so well with the sweetness of the coconut. It was SO good! My fiance got the BYO Omelette and I think he had a little bit of food envy, he said he thought about getting the french toast. Of course I gave him some. Overall the food was great and the service was decent but could have been a little better. Not bad enough to keep us from returning next time we're in town. I want more french toast!

1/2 chicken panini with Ybor City salad 1/2 Cuban sandwich with soup

First time at The Spot. Service was exactly as you would like it to being in this diner type restaurant. It is not fancy but the food is really good. I thought the chicken panini was really flavorful and my salad was excellent. I didn't care for the big blobs of ham and cheese and ended up chopping them up. My husband thought his Cuban sandwich was good. We want to go back to try some other items but it was a good solid 4 meal.

Everything was delicious, the service was quick and attentive, and we'd absolutely come back again. The French toast was my favorite. It was simultaneously fluffy, buttery, and crispy on the edges.

Always great food and service, had the Gouda and bacon omelet. It was fluffy like and on melt should be.

I'll start by saying this is probably the best breakfast burrito I've ever had…read more The parking lot is tinyyyy. The restaurant is tinyyyyy. St. Augustine is a busy place. Therefore, this gets a long wait for breakfast/brunch. It's hard to get a parking spot but there's free parking across the street. They have a big waiting area next to the restaurant which is definitely needed as we ended up waiting like 45 minutes around 9:30 am on a Saturday. The food was definitely worth the wait though. I got the burrito smothered with sauce and cheese and the flavor was fantastic. Flavorful but not super spicy or anything. It's also HUGE. Highly recommend. Service is a little questionable, if it was quicker they could probably help with their long wait. It was hard to flag down our girl when we needed something & it took ages to get to check.

Hard to recommend this one. The food is basic breakfast at above-average prices, and nothing on the…read moreplate justifies the markup -- the biscuits were dry enough that we needed to ask for gravy mid-meal, and even that simple request got deprioritized while our server chatted with other customers. The service showed a real lack of knowledge and attentiveness. When I ordered whole milk for my coffee, the response was essentially "is half and half okay?" -- no, it is absolutely not okay. These are completely different in taste and calories, and it's not a reasonable substitute to casually suggest. What made it worse: oat milk, almond milk, and whole milk were all visibly sitting in the fridge right there from where I was seated at the bar. Zero effort to offer what was clearly available. The atmosphere didn't help either. The space feels like someone started building a café concept and never finished thinking it through. It's uninviting, disorganized, and oddly off -- not warm, not designed with the customer in mind. Nothing about the food, the presentation, or the space gives you a reason to choose this place over anywhere else. Not particularly tasty, not nicely decorated, not a vibe. Not sure what keeps people coming back, honestly.

I ADORE Sunday. I've…read moreonly been a couple of times, but it's always on my list for recommendations when I have friends going to STA. It's a pretty spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. I love sitting by the window so you can watch outside and enjoy the lovely views. The food is just simple and fantastic -- everything is fresh, there's some fun and unique twists, and it's just so dang good. Everything I've ordered (and all of friends' dishes that I've tried) is great. Service is on point and everyone is super friendly and kind. They have coffee and alcoholic treats depending on what you're looking for. The hibiscus mimosa was a cool surprise and I really enjoyed the flavor - not sweet, but floral.

The parking nearby is 2 hour on side streets, but if you need a parking garage there's one not too far. I highly recommend ordering a French press of coffee! It's very delicious! You will get 3 cups of high quality coffee to share at the table or have all to yourself. As far as dining al fresco, the front courtyard is beautiful! However, on our trip it was too cold to dine outside. We were seated at a large table inside that accommodated our large group. They had several tables inside, but I could see on a busy Sunday or Saturday morning this place would get waitlisted quickly. Everyone loved their meals. No complaints. I ordered the lobster roll. It was very good, but I would try something different on a return visit. The salads coming out looked amazing! Everyone at my table raved about their meals: Shukshuka, BALT, Benedicts, cinnamon rolls. Every single thing was enjoyed!
