Fried Pork Chop
JiMmy P.

We've passed by several times and finally decided to stop in for a visit. When you arrive, you can seat yourself which was convenient. I ordered the pork chop and eggs special, but was disappointed when the food arrived. The pork chop was surprisingly small, more like a kid's portion. Honestly, I was surprised they served it that way. Also, with the constant in-and-out traffic, a few flies made their way inside and unfortunately, a couple tried to join us at our table.

Very good food at a small diner atmosphere. Kind staff was very attentive and friendly with all the guests.

Ybor Salad and Cuban: pick 2

Ordered lunch to go. Decided on the pick 2, Ybor salad and Cuban sandwich for $13.59. I get that its a half salad and half sandwich but for the price, i expected a little bit more. Taste/Flavor was just OK. Person at the counter was extremely friendly and polite. Area was quiet...diner style maybe 15 tables and a bar area. Only 2 other customers in the restaurant at the time. Probably would not go back for lunch because of the portions vs cost but may try once more for Breakfast.

Great food at a very reasonable price. Service is always friendly and prompt. The specials that are offered add a nice variety to their menu. It's a bit small for dining and keep in mind they are very popular so there sometimes is a short wait for a table. They serve Screaming Peacock coffee which is fantastic.

We were in town and I found The Spot on Yelp so we decided to check it out. It's a cute little mom and pop place with small town vibes that I loved. When we arrived there was a short wait and we opted for first available. We waited about ten minutes and were seated outside. The outdoor seating is right next to the highway so it was a little loud at times but overall totally fine. Our server seemed a little bit weeded, we had to ask for things more than once and I eventually stole what I needed from another table that left bc she forgot to bring it. Don't get me wrong, she was still good, she just seemed a little stressed or distracted. I got the coconut french toast which was INCREDIBLE! I didn't need syrup, I just ate it how it came. There was a slight savory aspect that paired so well with the sweetness of the coconut. It was SO good! My fiance got the BYO Omelette and I think he had a little bit of food envy, he said he thought about getting the french toast. Of course I gave him some. Overall the food was great and the service was decent but could have been a little better. Not bad enough to keep us from returning next time we're in town. I want more french toast!

1/2 chicken panini with Ybor City salad 1/2 Cuban sandwich with soup

First time at The Spot. Service was exactly as you would like it to being in this diner type restaurant. It is not fancy but the food is really good. I thought the chicken panini was really flavorful and my salad was excellent. I didn't care for the big blobs of ham and cheese and ended up chopping them up. My husband thought his Cuban sandwich was good. We want to go back to try some other items but it was a good solid 4 meal.

Everything was delicious, the service was quick and attentive, and we'd absolutely come back again. The French toast was my favorite. It was simultaneously fluffy, buttery, and crispy on the edges.

The beard dragons, python (banana, or not), lizzards, rabbits and even the tiny goats up front all looked so well taken care of and comfortable around people. Seeing a 4.9 rating honestly made me pretty skeptical becuase usually places that hyped never live up to it. But wow... this one actually did. I'm pretty sure my 5 stars are gonna help push this place to a full 5.0 The design itself is cute but not exactly perfection, and the checkout line process could definetly be smoother during busy times. BUT the food... thats where this place absolutley shines. The Arepas Special with the corn pancakes filled with eggs, avocado and tomatoes was an absolute BEAST. Fresh, flavorful and super satisfying. Then the Avocado Toast with the sweet pumkin pieces just blew the rest of our taste buds out the window. Such a weird combo on paper but somehow worked sooo good. And finishing it all with a Cafe con Leche and a blueberry scone just put the final dot on this breakfast experiance. It honestly didnt feel like "just breakfast" it felt like an experiance you remember later. Big shoutout to Huhny for a human she is! She absolutley knocked it outta the ballpark with recommendations, brought everything fast to the table, and you could really feel the passion and positive energy she delivered Thank you team, we'll 100% be back next time we visit your cool town St. Augustine.

My veggie omelet was decent, but I wouldn't say it was a generous portion like some reviews say. It was just right, not huge, and fairly priced. Coffee is average diner-style stuff however. FWIW the view of the harbor ain't all that great, but you are in a good location, right down the road from the Fort. Mine had plenty of chicken, an adequate portion of jarred salsa, and plenty of peppers and onions. I'd have liked to have seen tomatoes included. I'm sure I could get that on request. Mel's omelette was loaded with mushrooms, and while I didn't try it, she reported that it was quite good. The grits and home fries were good. Overall, the food was a solid 3, the service tacked on the other star. Gail was great. She was very attentive and offered all the right things at the right times. The 20oz juice portion is a welcome option in a world of small juice pours, but it clocks in at $6. Total ticket, including a 16oz OJ and a coffee, was $49. Maybe I'm just giving boomer vibes, but that's steep for breakfast. The portion sizes were sufficient for both of us to have another small meal off each order. In summary, I recommend this place for a breakfast/brunch (they had a small menu of alcoholic drinks for the brunchers), in spite of the sticker price. I'll be back.

Therefore, this gets a long wait for breakfast/brunch. It's hard to get a parking spot but there's free parking across the street. I got the burrito smothered with sauce and cheese and the flavor was fantastic. Flavorful but not super spicy or anything. It's also HUGE. Highly recommend. The service showed a real lack of knowledge and attentiveness. When I ordered whole milk for my coffee, the response was essentially "is half and half okay?" -- no, it is absolutely not okay. These are completely different in taste and calories, and it's not a reasonable substitute to casually suggest. What made it worse: oat milk, almond milk, and whole milk were all visibly sitting in the fridge right there from where I was seated at the bar. Zero effort to offer what was clearly available. The atmosphere didn't help either. The space feels like someone started building a café concept and never finished thinking it through. It's uninviting, disorganized, and oddly off -- not warm, not designed with the customer in mind. Nothing about the food, the presentation, or the space gives you a reason to choose this place over anywhere else. Not particularly tasty, not nicely decorated, not a vibe. Not sure what keeps people coming back, honestly.
