Service was great on a crowded Thursday evening before a show. I do notrecommend the chicken. It was rubbery and just not fresh. You can tell from the photo that it just was not that great. The mashed potatoes and vegetables were all that I ate that night.

The Raintree Restaurant is a family owned restaurant for many decades. We went here for Sunday brunch. The service was top-notch. The old historic home has a nice charm to it. My avocado toast was a bit on the bland side. It came with one small egg on top. There should have definitely been two. My husband had the Eggs Arnold. He absolutely loved it and commented that it was one of the best breakfast combos he had. I made my reservation through Open Table. The restaurant noticed that it was my birthday and gave me a card. That was a nice touch, since I did not indicate that it was my birthday on the reservation.

Love the bar area -- cozy and great bartenders!

I come here annually to watch the Kentucky Derby in the bar area, dine, & enjoy great mint juleps. This year there were four of us and the service was a bit disjointed as they were quite busy. The mint juleps and our dishes (lobster bisque, seafood au gratin, another fish dish & the ahi tuna were excellent. They delivered the ahi after everyone else had eaten. All in all, we love the Raintree & return every year in our hats for Derby.

A beautiful restaurant. I sat on the mostly vacant patio and enjoyed sausage and bean soup, rain-tree starter salad and Capellini Pomodoro. The waitress was attentive and happy to do her job. A great visit.

If you are looking for above superb food and service in a casual yet homey atmosphere then this is your place!! The restaurant has the feel of a home yet gives you a sophisticated dining experience. The location will set you back a few notes but the food and presentation are well worth the visit. There are various dining areas within the restaurant plus a bar area as well. This is fine dining but in a relaxed environment. Excellent place for a special occasion or to impress a special someone. Reservations are highly encouraged. They have an extensive wine list and a full bar. If you visit St Augustine, FL then make it a point to come here for a memorable dining experience!!

Excellent choice for New Year's Eve 2026! Fixed menu with three components all were outstanding. At least 6 entree options, something for everyone. Several dessert options too. Portions were perfect and the service was experienced and friendly professional. Truly an amazing experience. Loving restaurant with an intimate dining spots with a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend for an elevated dining experience.

Christmas time in St Augustine and oh what a crowd! That is why we chose Raintree. It was very easy to make reservations. The ability to park on-site with my family was huge. A party of eight and three with disabilities, this restaurant was perfect. The beautiful gazebo and holiday decorations put us in the holiday mood. Now let's talk food! Amazing!! Each of our dishes were crafted with care. It's been years since we had been there. I'm so glad we came back. P.S. leave room for dessert.

We stopped my last Sunday for Father's Day brunch. We took the drive down to St.Augustine and I was pleased they have their own parking lot. We were promptly seated and our waitress was prompt, attentive and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the brunch offerings which were pretty hearty and tasty. We liked the variety of offerings from the escargot to duck and waffles to the lobster baked salmon and grits. One person in the party ordered the beef Wellington and told me it was properly done.

What a terrible place. Came here for brunch, didn't make a reservation. This place is proud to be serving people for 40 years but it looks like no updates were made for the last 40 years. Most people dining were extremely old as well, definitely not a place for a young crowd. Service was terrible, very rude and condescending. There were people dining next to us who asked about the menu, and our server told them "the menu is self explanatory" . I ordered hot tea and server brought me black tea. He never asked me which type I wanted. When I said "I don't drink black tea" he said they also have green. Would be nice to ask which tea person wants. Food was pretty bad. Waffles were probably the worst we ever tried. Not sure how can you ruin waffles. Avocado toast was super simple, definitely overpriced. Turkey sausages were super average, kind of like a diner sausage. Definitely not for the price they charge. Overall pretty bad experience. Go somewhere else.

Food was phenomenal! My husband had a pasta with lobster and shrimp along with a ceasar salad. Don't recall what it was called. I had a brandy butter pepper steak. Oh my!!!So delicious. Coated in pepper and the sauce was amazing. Salads were excellent. Mine had a house made ranch that was no ordinary ranch. For dessert my husband had a chocolate mousse and I an excellent Crème Broulle (?) while our waiter sang us a beautiful song very softly for our anniversary.... Great experience.

What a great restaurant! We came for an anniversary dinner and had a handwritten note waiting for us. There were several other celebrations happening around us. The food was delicious and the service perfect.

My family had a wonderful time tonight at The Raintree celebrating my mom's birthday. Our waiter, Kit, was probably the best server we have ever had at a restaurant. My whole family was cracking up and we'd go to the restaurant even if the food was bad just for him. On top of that, everyone at the table raved about their soup, salad, and entrees. If we didn't have ice cream and cake waiting at home we would have definitely ordered the bread pudding. We will be back again very soon.

Wonderful food and service. This was a great vacation meal as our "treat yourself" dinner! Cocktail and beverage menu were wonderful too

One of the best meals I've had in a long time. The Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever had.

Ask the Community - The Raintree Restaurant

In the Chianti room or lounge is it quiet enough to have toasts or speeches for a special occasion?

I would say you'd want to sit outside on the patio for a toast. It can get loud inside. They do have a smaller seating area inside that might be quiet enough to have toasts/speeches however.

Is the patio dog friendly?

yes, the patio is pet friendly

Any gluten free bread options?

No, we do not have any gluten free bread options

Are reservations required?

We were able to secure a table for 2 in the beginning of June with out a reservation but I'm going to assume it really depends on the time of year and how many tourists are in the area.

Is there parking?

No you have to helicopter in and rappel down a rope like "Blackhawk down" Yes some spots on the main road and a dozen or so behind the establishment.

Walking in, I loved the vibes! It gave modern tiki bar feeling, it was clean and felt very warm and inviting. We sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender and a very extensive and beautiful leather bound menu! I loved that haha! They had everything from classic tiki drinks, to modern, to drinks by liquor type, etc. It had the food menu, some information about the bar and how it came about. We ordered a few drinks: Bushido Rhapsody (DELICIOUS), Stars & Sarsaparilla (husband liked it) and their currently rotating tiki drink - Escape from Black Mountain, which serves 2 and is served in a cool mug of the bust of Pedro Menendez. You can purchase it as well! It was so good and felt never ending between the 2 of us drinking it. For food we ordered a couple of apps - Cajun Chicken Eggrolls and the Montenegro Meatballs. Both were fantastic!! If we didn't already have dinner plans, we would have stayed here for dinner! Definitely will be coming back here next time we are in town and every time after that!

Seriously, I wanted to hug whoever cooked it. It is so worth it. Everyone else at my table was thrilled with what they got - burrata sandwiches and a fish sandwich. Not a good beer selection, it's very cocktail focused. Not my thing but yeah I will absolutely be back anytime I am in this wonderful city. This is not one to skip

What a great chillin' spot!…read more Whether you want to take a load off to relax with a drink or two...have a meal or grab a light bite, this place ticks all the boxes! The service is always great, prices are fair and the food is always good. The atmosphere is pretty chill and the views of St. Augustine are cool from this side and different. Sunsets are pretty spectacular from here as well. Most of the time you will find they have entertainment too. It's the perfect place to wind down after a long day or just chill out in the middle of the day. There is plenty of parking, and the trolleys stop here! They have indoor and outdoor seating. I am happy to say they offer a uniformed and/or military discount (with proof of ID)---thank you for this! Of course, The Cellar Upstairs is located upstairs of the San Sebastian Winery. All you have to do is enter the Winery, then make an immediate right to go upstairs via the elevator. Note: The only downside is the hours. The hours have changed quite a bit these past few years. Every business needs to do what is best for them I suppose...I get it. But there are two sides to The Cellar Upstairs and the opposite side (you'll know what I mean when you visit) is now only open on the weekends...bummer...it's such a lovely space. You can still go out there to check it out though. Plus, the days they are open are limited as well. Make sure to check the hours before you go on their website.

This French restaurant is located in a charming 3-story historic Jefferson house, once owned by Thomas Jefferson's great-granddaughter, Maria Jefferson Eppes Shine. The restaurant is on the first floor, with the entrance tucked away in the back. They have parking in the back. The second and third floors are home to a cozy Bed and Breakfast. We arrived right at 6 p.m. and were seated at a special table by the window. The restaurant isn't huge, but it has a lovely atmosphere. Renee was our server and treated us to a complimentary champagne for the occasion. She explained the menu and the specials. The Chefs Dinner Menu was fascinating, but unfortunately, I don't eat lamb. The menu changes frequently, so I'll definitely check it out again in the future and pair it with the optional Sommelier's wine pairing. There are so many wonderful choices, but I finally decided on the Bouillabaisse, remembering all the positive comments on Yelp. When my order arrived, it was presented on a large platter with a gorgeous display. It tasted as good as it looked, with the lobster eyes staring at me. It was a whole lobster, conveniently cut, which made it easier to eat. The combination of lobster, shrimp, mussels, and clams in a saffron-flavored broth was amazing. I'm so glad I chose it. My husband opted for the Steak au Poivre with Pomme Aligot. It's mashed potatoes with melted cheese, butter, and cream. The texture was a bit tougher than regular mashed potatoes, but still delicious. I tasted his filet, and it was so tender. He loves the poivre sauce on his steak. Renee recommended all the wines we picked. We started with the complimentary Frederic Chopin Brut Blanc de Blanc, and we really liked it, so we ordered more. For my meal, I had the Barbebelle Rosé, and my husband had the Peyrassol Merlot Syrah blend. Both wines complemented our meal perfectly. We did run into an issue with my Bouillabaisse, as it was a bit too salty. The manager, Parnos, came and apologized and had the chef prepare a new batch for me. They fixed the problem right away. I'm really impressed with the service, the amazing food, and the beautiful restaurant that's now La Nouvelle. They even gave me an amazing dessert with a birthday candle for free! It had a chocolate center, a crispy crust, whipped cream topping with chocolate morsels. La Nouvelle was outstanding in so many ways, making my birthday super special.
