While we were exploring downtown Boulder, we were hungry for a snack and some local brews but didn't want to get too toasty or full. The Post Bar has plenty of room and a welcoming atmosphere that was just what we were looking for. Have a seat at the bar or find a seat at one of their many tables. Our server was kind and sweet, giving us suggestions on food since we saw several options we liked. We decided on a flight of three and the chicken and waffles. Our flight consisted of the Big Rosie Porter, the Sunrise to Sunset, and the 1771 IPA. All three were very nice beers- complex flavors and richness all around. The chicken and waffles was amazing. It's the ultimate sweet and savory combination and both pieces were hot, fresh, crispy and delicious. There was chorizo country gravy that was awesome right along with the maple syrup. We were able to relax and enjoy our food and flight without feeling rushed although they were busy. I would love to come here again if we were in town! read more

Stopped in for a lunch meal during the whole covid-19 era. The employees made me feel really comfortable. Service was top-notch, the chicken BLT sandwich was absolutely delicious. My partner loves wings and specially if they are spicy, unfortunately this place missed the mark for us. The sauce on the wings had a weird after taste that not even their beer could wash away. We ordered 12 wings thinking we were going to enjoy them but we nearly ate 5. Their Brussel Sprouts on the other hand were amazing! Crispy, tangy and just full of flavor! We wanted to keep eating that all night. We also had their Belgian waffle with their special butter, no, that's not a code word for weed lol Aside from the Brussel sprouts nothing else was mind blowing. Just average. The place is cute. Delicious southern style fried chicken, down home style dishes and sides with tasty beers to wash it down. I'm so glad The Post came to Boulder! I've been a huge fan of them since visiting their Lafayette location, and now we can have amazing comfort food and (Gluten Free!!) fried chicken anytime! Their Fried Chicken is some of the best I've had (gf or not!). They have regular and hot (very hot, and delicious) and it always comes out super juicy and crispy. I've been in several times and it's consistently good. I also love- The Salad -romaine, arugula, boiled egg, apple, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, blue cheese, pumpkin seeds, bacon, big ol' croutons, house vinaigrette...sounds simple, but it's soooo good! My favorite side is their Beets and Sweets- Roasted sweet potatoes and beets with herbed goat cheese on top. It's just insanely delicious. Their Brunch is also tasty, and they have bottomless mimosas! This place was perfect for our large family. The meal deal for the family was reasonable and fed our whole group of 10. All of the food was tasty and cooked to perfection. The biscuits were amazing, soft and cheesy and not too dry like some biscuits. I loved the kale and quinoa, more kale than quinoa but good healthy option with all of the heavier fried dishes. The Post is a cool place in downtown Boulder that has a lot going for it. The decor is classic Colorado, with neat things like chairlifts and rustic fixtures. It checks a lot of boxes - ideally located, you can make reservations, they make their own beer on site. It's a nice place to visit whether you are a local or someone visiting Boulder. The drink menu is expansive - good beers to choose from (I had the IPA, which was awesome), and a full menu with lots of options. Our table shared the Warm Pimento Cheese Dip, which is accompanied by toasted bread, chips, and some pickled veggies. It is a great dish to share, and it is something unique. Our table ordered the Fried Chicken Chopped Salad, the Post Original Cheeseburger, and the Chicken & Waffles. They have chicken mastered - perfectly prepared as far as fried chicken is concerned. The dinner salad was not that large, so I'd probably order a side (there are some good ones, like grits, green chili Mac & cheese, etc). The Post is a fun atmosphere and worth a try. We were somewhat surprised that they charge $2 for ice (yes, I said ICE!) when you put it in a cocktail. $2 won't break most people, but to see that ice is itemized on the ticket as a charge was something I've not seen before. Awesome place for an afternoon beer in the warm weather! They open up their front glass doors so the restaurant extends out onto the sidewalk and you get all the fresh air inside. Makes it feel like you aren't in downtown boulder but perhaps closer to the beach. Great selection of beers from ales to wheats to IPAs. There are enough TVs at the bar so you can watch multiple games but it's not overwhelming or dominates the scene. Didn't venture to any food while stopping in for a beer but they also served a delicious Bloody Mary. Right after hiking around Indian Peak Wilderness area I wanted a healthy and satisfying meal. Stopped by this local place and was able to find a table right away. All staff and patrons were taking proper precautions with PPE. This place specializes in fried chicken and comfort food plus beer and mixed drinks. I wanted something lighter so I ordered the Greek salad with falafel and some extra protein with chicken. The salad was full of flavor and the falafel were some of the best I have had (including being in Greece). My friend also had the beet and goat cheese salad with grilled chicken. Great flavor! Never a disappointment. Today, friends and I went in to warm up with coffee and tea and share a waffle ice cream desert. Definitely good for 3 people to share but 4 works great too. Mature, down to earth local vibe with a twist when the sunsets. Not much different but different from the day time vibe. Of course the fried chicken is delicious and moist as well as their sides. The food: honestly nothing super special about this place, I got a "Nashville Hot" half bird and my lady got a Nashville hot sandwich. We both thought that the Nashville hot seasoning wasn't really like any other Nashville hot seasons we've had, it didn't really have good flavor, just lots of different spices that didn't mix well. However the chicken did have some fantastic crunch to it! Overall the food was a 5/10 which brought us to our 3 star review, there are a lot of other places that I can go spend $65 dollars at for a meal in Boulder and be much happier! read more

If I go to a restaurant with "Brewing" in the name, I expect to drink a beer with my meal. My server was an admitted ski bum who lives for winter and clearly waits tables in the summer to pay for his poor winters. That's cool, I don't expect you to be a career professional, but I do be able to expect you to be able to do your job with an even minimal level of confidence. I ordered two tasters as soon as we sat down. They didn't arrive until after my kids' meals had been brought out. The restaurant was practically empty. It was 5:15 pm on a Tuesday night. I had to ask another server to check on my beers because ski bum was MIA. Finally they showed up, I tried them, picked one, then put in my order for the pint right away. That pint didn't show up until well after our other meals, including mine, showed up. I got the supposedly amazing fried chicken. I wasn't impressed, but maybe it would've tasted better if I had A BEER TO WASH IT DOWN. We had been seated at 5:15. My beer arrived at 5:45. The only other tables in the place has families, so the bar couldn't have been that busy. And then ski bum didn't even offer to comp the beer. Come on, bro. I can't say too much about this place just because my husband and I only stopped in to have a beer. Lucky for us we were able to sit right next to their fireplace, as it was 30 degrees outside so it felt so good!! I had their backyard saison - which in my own opinion wasn't that great but was okay. My husband had their 1771 IPA, he said it was good but it was very stiff. The atmosphere was super nice, it's very big inside, and the decor is very cool to look at. Clean, warm, inviting atmosphere for each. Our most recent trip was to the one in Boulder. The staff were really helpful, very positive, and super friendly. The food was excellent. Deviled eggs are tasty and done so well. The fried chicken rocks, both original and Nashville hot. Biscuits are soft and tasty. The cheese curds... Dude, the cheese curds. Reminded me of Sconny curds, but with some awesome fried peppers mixed in for a pleasant, unexpected variety. Fresh, pastries for dessert, yep. Oh and I can't forget about the beer. I'm an IPA guy, but the dark mild ale and the porter are both super smooth and delicious. I'm totally onboard with the Post and have no hesitation with five stars. I typically like to offer an area of improvement in my reviews. The only thing that comes to mind is the slaw which was sort of bland. I've got nothing else. Seriously. No ridiculous double barrel aged triple sours with custom engineered belgian yeast and hops imported directly from a private 2 acre farm in zanzibar . Just really well done, delicious classic beers with depth and character. The kind of place to reset your palette and appreciate the fundamentals.
