Spanakopita.

Excellent. This is a small and unassuming space, but the quality of the food continues to be exceptional. The people working behind the counter are pleasant and seem to be very much interested in creating the best food and best experience possible. We ordered takeout, but there are a few tables inside and there were a handful of people dining in when I picked up our order. In terms of the food, everything was nicely crafted. The spanakopita was deliciously crisp and flaky with plenty of flavor. The lentil soup was deeply flavorful. The greek salad was good, and filled with crisp vegetables. The falafel wrap was a bit more like a falafel burrito, wrapped in a tortilla. That actually worked well: it was a little more manageable than something wrapped in a pita. The cold appetizers were good as well, with nice flavors and textures. All told, this continues to be an excellent destination for Mediterranean cuisine.

Still amazing good and service. We've only been about 3-4 times and they always remember us and welcome us back and notice when someone in the group is new. So kind, so fast and always incredible.

Truly felt like I walked into a family's home and they were serving me the best Mediterranean dinner. Before we even ordered the staff was extremely kind and wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. And for this being my first Mediterranean experience, this place has me wanting to try even more! Got the lamb gyro, seemed like the obvious choice, which had extremely tender meat, a garlic sauce with deep flavor and fresh veggies. Not pictured was the fresh hummus and pita that was cooked as we ordered it. Could have had three tubs of that by itself. Came in on a week night so we were able to get a table. Small spot! Not sure how busy it gets on a weekend but it's 100% worth a stop in.

I've ordered takeout from the Mediterranean Table twice and both times, I've been impressed. First off, I think they have the best pita bread I've had in a while. It's warm, soft, and fluffy and it's the perfect vessel for the dips and spreads that they offer. Most recently, I ordered cacik (thick cucumber yogurt) for a starter and the mixed kebab plate, which has lamb and chicken shish kebabs. It comes with rice and a side of pita and cabbage/peppers. Everything was super flavorful and delicious. The staff are always so kind when I stop in as well. I want to dine in next time, so I will make a point to do that.

This was my birthday dinner. The staff were so friendly. I was greeted immediately at the door and checked in by multiple staff through the meal. They were lovely I'd go back just for the customer service. It's a small hole in the wall kind of place, the food was all excellent and I have no notes for improvement. An easy 5/5 stars.

Fantastic experience! Staff were so friendly and the food was delicious. The space is small and intimate, unassuming at first if you aren't keeping an eye out. Everything was fresh and seasoned perfectly. The chicken and lamb were incredible, the falafel was crispy, and all of the dips that we got were exceptional. Cannot wait to come back here to try more!

First time in and it was fantastic. Food was fresh and delicious and service and staff, super friendly. We loved everything and the place was buzzing for in house eating and to go's, so that's a good thing! We will absolutely return. Although I was put off by the use of everything being served on paper products as being wasteful, I decided it's better than using horrific styrofoam. I would like to see a better option than the plastic silverware set given. Maybe a plant based set or compostable options?

Very good! Came here with a friend while visiting Pittsburgh and had a great lunch. Owner was very attentive, made sure we had plenty of drinks and sauces, and portions were generous. Appreciated the veggie options. Hot tea came with the meal which was great for a cold day. Felt happy and refreshed after the meal, which was a nice change from a usual fried food meals out. Nice, casual ambience, I would definitely recommend it.

Go for the food, stay for the service! The staff are just incredible and so welcoming! Some great vegan options with their fire falafel plate! Great portions and worth the price!

I have walked by this new restaurant/take-out many times because it is located in a block of Murray Ave with some of my favorite eateries. I even talked to the owners who while sitting in front invited me to try their new restaurant. Tonight because Mediterranean Grill a regular spot I like was closed we decided to order from Mediterranean Table- the restaurant is small with a grill in front of the street window. I phoned in the order- and tried many dishes I was excited about finding another good spot -I asked if they wanted my name and they said no- They also said the order would take 15 to 20 minutes. I commented "are you sure?" and they said "yes." 45 minutes and several walk-ins by me later we got our food- the staff was busy and they apologized for the wait- I took the food home and while unpacking I noticed that all the paper bags were covered wet with grease. When I unwrapped the lamb gyro the foil was dripping with grease and it was pooling. I took a bite- the pita was soggy so I deconstructed- the lamb was dry the salad was greasy and it was inedible- I then tried the Greek Lemon soup- They must have served me different soup because it was not chicken lemon soup. The veggie kabob was edible and tasty but it also was slick with oil- The lamb kabob was very tough- The grilled chicken kabob was good and was the highlight of a disaster meal that was fit from the trash can. The baba ganosh was bad, The dolma was editable but like the veggies tasted oily. The fatoosh was bad- oily and low quality lettuce tomato and onion that was wilted. 80% of the meal was not consumed because it was so greasy, wilted and tasted fried. Even the pita was cut into very small pieces. I think the atmosphere was chaotic and not relaxing. I had to squeeze my self to the counter- the food was just pain bad and it was 40 minutes late. After only a few bites all four of us felt sick. I am Shocked that so many good reviews are posted because this place is not worth trying, not good quality or properly prepared and above all not healthy. This is a hard pass- it was $90 down the drain and into the trash. Never again.

I eat at Mediterranean restaurants quite often in various cities. These prices are a bit extreme.

It didn't surprise me when I entered the premises because it had an old school ambiance with chandeliers, white tablecloths, and personalized plates. Given how chilly it was outside, I didn't have any trouble getting a table without a reservation. It was a matter of moments after I ordered when a basket of presumably Turkish bread arrived with a house tapenade made with olives, walnuts, and olive oil (Photo 8). That was delicious and the bread provided a soft, absorbent vessel. For an appetizer, I went with the $11 Grilled Veggies which was a generous plate of zucchini, eggplant, onions, leeks, green & red peppers, carrots, and tomatoes. The flavors were enhanced by a marinade of herbs and balsamic glaze (Photo 9). It stretched into a side dish for my entree, the $35 Grilled Lamb Chops Kebab. Four plump, tender ones came with an order along with a side salad and a scoop of rice (Photo 7). I thought all the food was pretty good with the tapenade and lamb chops the standouts. I'd come back should Pittsburgh call my name again. I had Turkish tea and Chef Borek, a cheesy pastry that was savory, but served with a thin honey, flavored sauce, and sweet, cheery tomatoes. Additionally, based on the waitresses recommendation, I tried the beef shish kebabs. Although I requested them medium, they were definitely well done, however, the flavor was very good even though the texture was a little tougher. I do think it's hard to cook a kebab less than well done most of the time. I also purchased some Turkish taffy as a treat for later and haven't tried them yet. If you're in the North Shore area of Pittsburgh, attending a baseball or football game, this is a nice walk across the bridge for something exotic and tasty. I would return for some more good food

The space is tiny and unassuming, and the restaurant seems to be a family run operation. The interior is much more nicely kept than you might guess based on the outside of the building. The staff were very friendly, and all of our food was well packaged. I strongly suggest taking a look at the "Persian Cuisine" section of the menu; in many cases, that section is more interesting than the Turkish grill. In terms of food, things ranged from excellent to pretty good. The hummus was good and nicely textured, but not exceptional. The kashke ve bademjan was excellent, particularly when paired with the nicely toasted flatbread it arrived with. The Mediterranean salad and Tabouli salad were both nicely done, with a nice level of lemon acidity and some shredded cheese on the side. The veggie kebap was fine, but generally flat in flavor: it really needed some of the sides and some hot sauce to fill things out. The red lentil soup was simple with a subtle spicing but ultimately deeply flavorful. The ash reshteh (noodle soup with beans and spinach) was generally good but would have benefited from toppings that would have probably been provided in a dine-in environment. All told, this was a nice little establishment with some excellent Mediterranean and Persian style cuisine. They seem to churn out some high quality food from what seems like a very small kitchen. I could imagine eating in or ordering takeout, but note that the interior space is fairly small with a limited capacity.

Our fave foodie neighbor recommended this over highly-rated Med Table (still haven't tried that place yet, so our verdict is out!). Overall, our meal was really good (not great). Appetizers: hummus & baba gannouj were tasty. We opted for their "regular" size which has given us plenty of leftovers! (Other options: small & large). Hummus was the fave; I've definitely had more flavorful baba. We opted to toast all the mounds of huge pita that came with the meal, though. We're not fans of cold, "raw" pita with dips. Entrees: I got the Genie's combo plate - a couple of interestingly spiced , though somewhat dry chicken thighs (spice called "mishwi" - seemed almost like a Berbere-type seasoning w/ cinnamon in the profile) on a bed of basmati & a helping of tasty, crunchy pickled turnips & Lebanese salata (like Mediterranean pico de gallo). The standout item on this place - far and away - was the roasted, spiced cauliflower. I would have that ALONE - no chicken. I liked the dish, overall, but it didn't knock my socks off. I would look for solo-cauliflower next time. Hubs got the Shish Tawook rolled pita - he really enjoyed the grilled chicken with pickled turnip and excellent homemade garlic sauce. He said he'd def reorder. Top tip - get that garlic sauce (if u like garlic). It's AMAZING. No dessert for us, though what an impressive list they have! We'll definitely return to try some other options.

It's got a nice location on the central road in Squirrel Hill, but it's a bit hard to find parking. When I got there, I got to try their shish tawouk (chicken kabob), mujadara, salad with feta, and iced mint tea. The tea was pretty alright. Refreshing and a nice mint flavor; I think they might make the blend in house. They also brought out some nice pita before we started the meal. For my main course, I ordered the shish tawouk. You usually get this meal with the rice pilaf, but they were out, so I got to try the mujadara. I'm actually quite glad! The chicken was tender, and the portion was very fair. They served it with a nice tomato sauce, but I also asked for some garlic sauce on the side. The sauces both seem to be homemade, and definitely go well with the chicken. The mujadara was surprisingly delicious. They top the dish with crispy sweet onions. It's a mix of lentils and some other grain. Very good! One thing to mention generally is this place closes quite early, usually around 8 or 8:30 PM, so do keep it in mind. It is also very clearly a family endeavor, with the mom managing most of the tables and the kids always helping out. Very nice place!
