    Spicy Chicken Doner Kabab
    Jason F.

I stopped by here a couple of Fridays ago with my family for dinner. We had noticed My Kebab while driving down Perry Highway and decided that it would be a good place some time. So when a Friday came around and we were looking for takeout, this is what we choose. We ended up ordering our food online and chose a future time to pick it up. Whenever we arrived to the restaurant about 15 minutes later than we expected, our food was ready and I was quickly on my way. The inside of my Kebab is fun with teal blue walls, gray floors and paintings of famous places in Europe on the walls. On the day that I was there no one else happened to be in the restaurant which I thought was odd. For dinner on this evening I decided to go with the Spicy Chicken Doner Kabab while my wife went with the falafel platter. My entree was described as Marinated chicken, mixed lettuce, tomatoes, pickled cucumber, garlic sauce, lavash bread while my wife's was described as Chickpeas, mixed greens, garlic, tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, humus, tahini sauce, pita bread. My dinner here actually ended up being quite good as I thought the chicken was moist and flavorful and I loved the spiciness of the sauce. My wife ended up thinking that her dinner was ok but nothing special. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I really liked my spicy chicken doner and would like to try some of their menu items as well.

My Kabab is a Mediterranean restaurant that opened in 2023. Its menu lists appetizers such as babaganush, haydari, stuffed grape leaves, and falafel and appetizers such as chicken kabab, kofta, lamb chops, beef doner, and Greek salad. This restaurant even has a small menu for children. The restaurant offers dining in (many tables are available), pickup/takeout, and delivery. So far, I have ordered food from this restaurant three times--once for pickup in December 2023, once for takeout in February 2024, and once for delivery in February 2024. For the in-person visits, an employee spoke kindly to my husband and me. For our second visit, my husband ordered a second entree by saying its name aloud and pointing to it on the menu, but for some reason (language barrier or entree not in stock?), the employee did not enter this entree into the computer or cook it. For the delivery, the kitchen took about 1 hour 15 minutes to prepare the food. My husband and I ate the foods at home. Here are our reviews for the foods: Hummus with pita - 4 stars - This hummus contained the usual ingredients of chickpeas, tahini, garlic, cumin, black pepper, salt, lemon juice, and olive oil, and I thought that it tasted good. The pita bread was fresh and chewy. Falafel - 4 stars - The falafel contained chickpeas, chopped vegetables, and flour, and I liked its flavors. It was served with hummus and lettuce. Chicken shish - 4 stars - Large chunks of chicken breast were marinated in spices and cooked on a skewer. The meat was juicy and tasted mildly spicy. On the side were rice, pita, salad, and onions, all of which were very fresh and tasted very good. Lamb shish - 4 stars - My husband ate a similar entree of chunks of lamb. He seemed to like his lamb and sides. He did say that some of the lamb had tough gristle. We do greatly appreciate that this restaurant offers kababs that have whole chunks of meats rather than just ground meats. Haydari - 4 stars - This haydari contained yogurt, feta, chopped walnuts, garlic, olive oil, dill, and mint. It was very fresh and tasted good with its accompanying pita bread. Kavurma - 5 stars - This entree consisted of sautéed beef, tomatoes, and peppers on top of rice. On the side were onions and a small salad. The ingredients were very flavorful. Midye baklava - 4 stars - I was not previously aware of this particular type of baklava. This dessert was three pieces of pastry shell that were filled with mixed nuts and syrup. Beef and lamb doner kabab/shawarma - 5 stars - My husband ate this entree, and I tried one bite. We thought that this wrap tasted very good. My husband did comment that he did not expect it to contain pickles, but he did enjoy the beef, lamb, lettuce, cucumber, etcetera. Babaganush - 3.5 stars - This eggplant dip had a smoky flavor and paired nicely with one pice of pita bread. Pineapple Chicken Doner Kabab - 5 stars - This entree was what my husband had previously unsuccessfully ordered in person, so I ordered it on GrubHub for delivery. This doner kabab was a large size, was fresh, and tasted very good. Raw Veggie Kofte - 3.5 stars - I received several pieces of ground vegetables (e.g., lentils, bulgur, onions, tomatoes, and parsley) that tasted spicy. I had not previously eaten this type of food, so my tastebuds felt surprised. Shepherd salad - 4.5 stars - This salad contained tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, lemon juice, parsley, vinegar, and oil. This salad was simple but tasted very good. Pomegranate Salad - 5 stars - This menu item was like a potato salad with pomegranates, onions, and some other ingredients. This salad is definitely one of my favorites at this restaurant. Baklava - 4.5 stars - The baker did a good job with layering the phyllo dough, crushed pistachios, and syrup. This baklava did not taste as sweet as some Greek baklava that I have previously made. Shakar Pare - ? - I ordered this dessert, but I did not receive it. Instead, the restaurant gave me a second baklava.

Words cannot describe how good my meal was from this place. Never in my life have I tried a shawarma, but I promise you, I will be back after tasting a bite of this. I got the spicy beef and lamb shawarma with a side of fries. Fries were decent. Shawarma was a 10/10. Basically a burrito filled with gyro-like meat, veggies, and a creamy garlic white sauce. It was so good that I wish I had ordered two of them. Not going to lie, I'll probably be back tomorrow just to get it again. Give this place a try. A+..... glad to have this little kebab joint in the neighborhood.

Delicious takeout! We just moved to the area and were looking for a quick dinner. Ordering online was super easy. Inside the restaurant, there were photos of Greece and the Middle East, which was very fun. The food was SO GOOD! We really enjoyed the lamb shish, as well as kofta (ground beef and lamb patties) with the red sauce they came with. Very happy to add this to our takeout rotation! I just need to try those desserts next time. Highly recommend!

We had been wanting to try this place and are so happy that it finally opened. All the people are so friendly, warm and welcoming. Even though there were so many good choices on the menu, I came for one thing and one thing only. After watching this place on Instagram, I had to have the beef and lamb doner kebab with pomegranate. It was so unique - sweet and savory in one bite. Absolutely delicious! My husband enjoyed the chicken shish kabab and salad. He also really enjoyed the hot tea. We spoke to another patron who had been there literally 8x in two weeks. He loved the braised beef and rice and shepherd's salad. If you love Mediterranean Food, you must check them out. It's so cute in there. They decorated it with pictures of Greece and Turkey. Nice to have another good local restaurant over all the chains in the North Hills.

    Mixed Grill platter
    Kari S.

We got this Mixed Grill platter along with side of grilled vegetables and Greek salad. The mixed grill platter had a mix of Lamb kabab, chicken kabab, chicken shish, kofte, lamb shish, lamb chops, wings with 2 naans and rice soaked in the meat juices and a small salad. We will come back for this platter every time. All the meats were perfectly seasoned and well cooked. The rice was so delicious with a hint of lemon. There was also an order of naan that came with it. The grilled vegetables were a pretty small size but it was also cooked really well. It had red peppers, zucchini and eggplant. The Greek salad was also very good! I love supporting this local establishment. It would be good if they update the prices on their flyers to that of online prices which is higher but correct.

    Elise N.

Lentil soup is very good. It's almost like a bisque. The falafel is very light, a nice difference to falafel I've had before that can be dry and dark. The kebob platter is huge. The wings are really juicy. Definitely worth another visit. Great service.

Wow! Well, in town, visiting family, we stumbled upon this establishment based on its Google maps, restaurants reviews. Nothing short of phenomenal and every way. The food, the service, the patron were exceptional. Highly recommend! (Yelp- profile updated.)

    Mixed Appetizer

A wow meal experience. I've been to Turkey and Greece and dined in many states. By far, the most authentic, best Mediterranean meal I've had to date! We had the traditional Turkish tea, the mixed appetizers, and kebabs. The team brought me back to Turkey- perfectly brewed, served small and authentic in every way. The appetizers made me feel like I was in Greece again- rich in freshness and flavor, presentation. Fresh, moist, masterfully full flavor kabobs. Service was impeccable- friendly and knowledgeable. We even made friends with patrons who were also here for the first time, and had the same experience. New fav!! We'll be back!

It didn't surprise me when I entered the premises because it had an old school ambiance with chandeliers, white tablecloths, and personalized plates. Given how chilly it was outside, I didn't have any trouble getting a table without a reservation. It was a matter of moments after I ordered when a basket of presumably Turkish bread arrived with a house tapenade made with olives, walnuts, and olive oil (Photo 8). That was delicious and the bread provided a soft, absorbent vessel. For an appetizer, I went with the $11 Grilled Veggies which was a generous plate of zucchini, eggplant, onions, leeks, green & red peppers, carrots, and tomatoes. The flavors were enhanced by a marinade of herbs and balsamic glaze (Photo 9). It stretched into a side dish for my entree, the $35 Grilled Lamb Chops Kebab. Four plump, tender ones came with an order along with a side salad and a scoop of rice (Photo 7). I thought all the food was pretty good with the tapenade and lamb chops the standouts. The space is tiny and unassuming, and the restaurant seems to be a family run operation. The interior is much more nicely kept than you might guess based on the outside of the building. The staff were very friendly, and all of our food was well packaged. I strongly suggest taking a look at the "Persian Cuisine" section of the menu; in many cases, that section is more interesting than the Turkish grill. In terms of food, things ranged from excellent to pretty good. The hummus was good and nicely textured, but not exceptional. The kashke ve bademjan was excellent, particularly when paired with the nicely toasted flatbread it arrived with. The Mediterranean salad and Tabouli salad were both nicely done, with a nice level of lemon acidity and some shredded cheese on the side. The veggie kebap was fine, but generally flat in flavor: it really needed some of the sides and some hot sauce to fill things out. The red lentil soup was simple with a subtle spicing but ultimately deeply flavorful. The ash reshteh (noodle soup with beans and spinach) was generally good but would have benefited from toppings that would have probably been provided in a dine-in environment. All told, this was a nice little establishment with some excellent Mediterranean and Persian style cuisine. They seem to churn out some high quality food from what seems like a very small kitchen. I could imagine eating in or ordering takeout, but note that the interior space is fairly small with a limited capacity.

Our fave foodie neighbor recommended this over highly-rated Med Table (still haven't tried that place yet, so our verdict is out!). Overall, our meal was really good (not great). Appetizers: hummus & baba gannouj were tasty. We opted for their "regular" size which has given us plenty of leftovers! (Other options: small & large). Hummus was the fave; I've definitely had more flavorful baba. We opted to toast all the mounds of huge pita that came with the meal, though. We're not fans of cold, "raw" pita with dips. Entrees: I got the Genie's combo plate - a couple of interestingly spiced , though somewhat dry chicken thighs (spice called "mishwi" - seemed almost like a Berbere-type seasoning w/ cinnamon in the profile) on a bed of basmati & a helping of tasty, crunchy pickled turnips & Lebanese salata (like Mediterranean pico de gallo). The standout item on this place - far and away - was the roasted, spiced cauliflower. I would have that ALONE - no chicken. I liked the dish, overall, but it didn't knock my socks off. I would look for solo-cauliflower next time. Hubs got the Shish Tawook rolled pita - he really enjoyed the grilled chicken with pickled turnip and excellent homemade garlic sauce. He said he'd def reorder. Top tip - get that garlic sauce (if u like garlic). It's AMAZING. No dessert for us, though what an impressive list they have! We'll definitely return to try some other options.

It's got a nice location on the central road in Squirrel Hill, but it's a bit hard to find parking. When I got there, I got to try their shish tawouk (chicken kabob), mujadara, salad with feta, and iced mint tea. The tea was pretty alright. Refreshing and a nice mint flavor; I think they might make the blend in house. They also brought out some nice pita before we started the meal. For my main course, I ordered the shish tawouk. You usually get this meal with the rice pilaf, but they were out, so I got to try the mujadara. I'm actually quite glad! The chicken was tender, and the portion was very fair. They served it with a nice tomato sauce, but I also asked for some garlic sauce on the side. The sauces both seem to be homemade, and definitely go well with the chicken. The mujadara was surprisingly delicious. They top the dish with crispy sweet onions. It's a mix of lentils and some other grain. Very good! One thing to mention generally is this place closes quite early, usually around 8 or 8:30 PM, so do keep it in mind. It is also very clearly a family endeavor, with the mom managing most of the tables and the kids always helping out. Very nice place!
