It's been a really long time since I had food this good eating out to be honest. The food was good, it didn't upset my stomach after, and it was reasonably priced. All these things seem like the bare minimum, but it truly isn't in this day and age. I feel like getting anything with steak when you're eating out is risky, but I got the steak wrap and it was cooked to perfection. The staff was so nice. Place was very clean. Stopped here for lunch didn't expect too much since it was more of a bar than a restaurant, but the menu seemed very appetizing. I didn't know whether to go for a burger, turkey BLT with a fried fish sandwich, but I looked at the reviews and pictures and thought the fried fish was huge so I would give it a shot. Unfortunately it came out pretty well done I'm not saying it's burnt, but it definitely wasn't perfect. I ended up taking one piece off eating it out of the sandwich and with the smaller piece eating it as a sandwich but with only 1/2 of the bun. The bun was pretty overwhelming. Not bad for a local lunch spot or maybe after our drinks the looks don't do it justice as it impressed me more than I expected. read more

This is a Pittsburgh staple in my opinion. I have never been disappointed by a meal here. The sandwiches are my go-to - I mean the salmon blt and the steak wrap are just 10/10. And the sweet potato fries - oh I could write a love song about them. The salads are huge portions and the beer is always crisp and cold. Definitely a fun bar food casual bite. read more

Good food, great service, and a casual space for friends, Lot 17 was a winner. I came here to meet with four friends who I hadn't seen in quite some time. We were seated in the far back against the wall, a baseball game playing at the very end, and conveniently located near the restrooms. I say convenient because lines quickly formed so our proximity let us know when the coast was clear so we didn't have to stand and wait. The atmosphere was very relaxed. Our waitress never rushed us and periodically checked in without intrusion. The menu consists of typical bar bites - burgers, wings, tacos - plus some salads. Everyone had something to eat from the menu with no complaint. The drinks were very good. Solid easy sippers. All in all a great experience! read more

My mom, brother, and I had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy up front by the bar, but we were able to be seated at a table in the back. Our waitress was friendly and prompt, despite the crowd. We ordered the brussel sprouts as an app and they came out within 10 mins. The plate was a good sharing size and the brussel sprouts were fried and topped perfectly. The balsamic glaze and bleu cheese worked well together. Definitely worth the $10. For entrees, I ordered the jalapeño steak wrap and the others ordered the black bean burger but got a regular beef patty and the jerk chicken bowl. I loved my wrap. It packed some heat and I thought the cajun shoestring fries on the side were delicious. My mom was disappointed in the lack of flavor in the jerk chicken bowl. She had high hopes with all of the toppings, but it missed the mark for her. My brother asked for his burger medium rare and it was certainly leaning very rare. He still ate it (he was starving) and said it was good otherwise. The bathrooms are located up a somewhat steep staircase, but were clean. Parking is on the street out front. read more

Found Lot 17 on the Yelp while picking up some pictures at the Bodega in Bloomfield ( a separate review) A pleasant and casual vibe with exposed brick and a vintage pub feel. We sat at the bar and were noticed immediately, despite the busyness. The menu included the typical, but elevated, bar choices. I ordered the turkey club and Todd had the patty melt. Both were solid choices and quite good. The sandwiches were substantial and we ended up taking home leftovers, which we enjoyed later in the day. They also have a cute and cozy outdoor space on the sidewalk out front. (but it was 1000 degrees, as has been the norm this summer.) I would like to revisit when the weather is more agreeable. This place is one of my favorites in Pittsburgh! The steak melt is my go too, it's great sliced steak, cheesy and with pepper and onions on a great toasted bread. Excellent neighborhood bar/grill in Pittsburgh's Bloomfield Compendium of countless visits over eight or nine years. We often come here for lunch. Keyword is consistency: front of house team is consistently gracious and highly engaged. Kitchen renders menu consistently. This is a solid neighborhood bar/restaurant. Fun menu items below, with our commentary: - Roasted brussels with bleu: large plate, delicious. - Cheesburger: big juicy burger on soft bun: nicely rendered. This is a great burger. - Chopped cheese is excellent. Much like a cheesesteak only with crumbled ground beef instead of shaved ribeye. - Fries: chanelling a large chain with arches? Consistently excellent. Ask for them a bit well-done. - The fried cod sandwich is (unsurprisingly) gigantic piece of fish served on a piece of Bread Works hoagie roll. It is an excellent sandwich. I've grown to love this neighborhood establishment in ways I never thought I would. So very fortunate to live less than a five minute walk away. The food is so freaking good like all the time. Don't come often but when we do it's always for dinner. Primarily a sports bar with games on all the time. Absolutely a locals spot. Service is impeccable even when they're insanely busy. It gets so crazy busy there you're sometimes packed in. But folks are great all around from staff to neighborhood patrons. Definite sporty vibe. read more

Was here last night for the first time. It was busy on a Friday night right around dinner but we got the last table. The food was solid! I had French onion soup, a cheeseburger and fries. I'd recommend both! Definitely want to try the ribs. With how busy it was service was a little slow but overall good enough as long as you aren't in a rush! Food came out quickly. The place itself is beautiful and I would say pretty loud with music and just people talking. They have a very cool old school fan that runs son a belt system. We went to this place for lunch. They didn't have many customers at that time. We were greeted and seated immediately. The ambiance was nice with some emphasis on the history of the neighborhood. The service was nice and timely. We ordered burgers. My wife asked for a medium well one. However it came medium rare! It was a little bit too salty too. We ordered lunch for six people, and let me just say... never again. The wings showed up pink inside, and the fish sandwiches looked and tasted like they were fried in grease that's been there since the grand opening. The fish was dark, tough, and honestly disrespectful. We reached out to let them know, thinking they'd at least try to make it right. Instead, the owner called back with an attitude like we were trying to finesse him. Sir, nobody is trying to profit off undercooked chicken. Be for real. We even sent pictures, and he still said everything was "cooked perfectly." If that's their version of perfect, I'm scared for anyone eating there on purpose. read more

I may actually be addicted to the buffalo chicken wrap at Lot 17. This wrap is exactly what I want when I think Buffalo chicken wrap. It also comes with a side of fries that add to the deliciousness. This spot is super affordable & truly a great neighborhood eatery. They also have a kids menu which you don't come by all too often in the city! Quick service for a lunchtime stop. read more

Came here twice in a week because we had a family member at Shadyside & it was a happy find. We were nervous about getting a table on a friday at 6:45 but we did for 2, and im happy we did. The food was great, we got French onion (soooo good!) & potato petals. Was gteat. Then had the Pittsburgh salad and wings as entrees. Delicious and so affordable. The prices are so reasonable. We had 6 drinks, each had an app & meal. $72! We are from closer to Philly so we were expecting $150 bill. What a great place. I will 100% come back whenever im in town read more

Great time attending an event in the upstairs room at Lot 17! This was my first time visiting and I was there for a private event hosted upstairs. Upstairs we had our own bar area and bartender that took great care of us throughout the night! The ambience was nice, it was a classy bar. I ordered some provolone wedges to try and we also had the Cajun fries which were both great! My original provolone wedges only had 4 since one of the wedges fell so they gave me an entire new order which was greatly appreciated! The dinner menu also seemed delicious and I look forward to trying it sometime! The upstairs area was a great space for our party and we all had a wonderful time. They also had a good selection of beers and liquor for drinks. Overall a great night out at a private event at Lot 17! read more

Food is decent. I had the Pittsburgh salad. The fries on the salad were shoestring-cut and quite yummy. My companions had Lot 17 burgers. They enjoyed theirs. We leisurely sat on the high chairs at a table right across the bar, watching the Olympics on TV. Service was a bit slow, but hey, we were not in a hurry and we enjoyed watching the Olympics. read more

I work at the neighborhood hospital and we always have reps bringing us food......this week it was Lot 17 food was excellent to the point where me and my husband order take out the next day once again food was excellent, so me and my coworkers decided to order food for lunch I walked down and picked it up food was ready and waiting, when I got back to the hospital I opened up my food which was overcooked,I checked with my coworkers who also ordered and there food was also over cooked and one co worker order wings which where under cooked.I called the restaurant was told the manager would call me back he did and he said he didn't know what I wanted him to do and there was nothing wrong with the food, I sent him pictures and he told me he didn't see the issue he offered me a 20 gift card to his restaurant which I declined because it was over 70 worth of food and 20 was not going to help us.Im just really disappointed and this was not good customer service. We will not be purchasing food from there anymore and will make sure no reps bring us anything from there every again read more

I can't believe the service here it was so awful worse I ever had in my life the old lady who was serving us didn't want to even greet us we sat there for 15 minutes with no hello no water or anything then we got a "I'll be over in a minute" followed bye a " yall ready to order everything" we wanted apps she made us rush then we order and split everything and asking for plates she threw the plates down then after that there was no sauce on the salad we asked for extra dressing and she sat it on the flat while my friend was eating we asked to speak to a manager and they said she was! We can not let places like this last DO T HO THERE! read more

I had a nice first lunch experience at Lot 17. I sat at the bar & the windows were open to the street (they have tables out front). I sat at the bar & had a Victory hazy IPA. I ordered the mahi tacos which were good & each had a fairly large rectangular piece of mahi fish in it. It came with tortilla chips, a whole huge basket & salsa. The chips were surprisingly good, Mex restaurant style. Their salsa was also quite tasty, better than some Mexican places I had been recently which surprised me... Although the bartender wasn't sure if they made their own salsa or not? I did ask for another little cup of salsa so that I could finish the rest of my tortilla chips. Their menu is fairly large and varied and they also have a kids menu. Definitely worth a stop at least at lunchtime! read more

Stopped in for lunch with a buddy that works near there...wow! This is a great spot to eat! A pleasant young lady brought drinks quickly and took our orders...the fish tacos sounded good and she recommended them with enthusiasm. That was for me, and my pal got their Caesar salad. In short order the food came out. The Mahi Mahi fish tacos - OMG delicious! Served with delicious chips and salsa, this lunch was a delight! My buddy reported that his salad was great as well! From service, to presentation, the scrumptious food, to a bill that was far less than the quality delivered, I heartily recommend you try this spot out for lunch or dinner. I'll definately return! My first time at Lot 17 was for a friend's bridal shower in the upstairs private room. It is really cute up there and is a great spot for a small party. I liked that we could order off of their regular menu and each pay separately. I expected it to be all greasy bar food, but they have much more than that! I think I was intimidated to go here before because it seems like everyone there knows each other. I am so glad I went for the private party, because the food was awesome! We shared pretzel bites for an appetizer and they were soft and warm. Other girls at the party raved about the mediterranean salad. I didn't expect to get a salad at a bar, but after reading the ingredients I ordered one too. It is SO GOOD! The salad is mixed greens, tomatoes, Kalamata olives, scallions, roasted red peppers, Feta cheese topped with fried calamari and lump crabmeat. Their homemade thick balsamic dressing is delicious with it. We mostly all drank wine since it was a bridal shower in the day time, and they had a good selection. I went to Lot 17 again the other night with my boyfriend and sat outside. It was a beautiful night! Our waitress was very friendly and the service was fast. I got a Fatheads Bumbleberry beer and that Mediterranean salad again. My boyfriend got to sunrise burger which had bacon, a fried egg, and choice of cheese on top. The burger itself was huge and he took half to go. I also told him how everyone loved the fries and to get them. Once his food came I realized it was actually the sweet potatoes that everyone loved. We will get them next time. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. We will definitely be back! read more

Where they fell down IMO was their pizza. It just wasn't very good. We had several versions of their Sicilian to choose from. The cheese was generous, but the crust was doughy and heavy, the sauce was flavorless, and the toppings were very stingy. A big piece of Sicilian pizza with 3 slices of pepperoni is not good. I checked out their menu and was stunned at the prices they are getting for those pizzas. WAY overpriced. Of course i didn't have to pay for them since it was a party, but knowing what their pizza is like i would never go back there and pay those prices. The wings were just OK, pretty mediocre. Parking is a joke. No where near enough spots for the size of the place. Overall it was just OK, i would not return. There are better places for the same or less money.

It's fresh looking and inviting. Because it was one of the warm days recently they had the whole front opened up and that was nice. It seems to have a hometown client base, I say that because everyone seemed to know each other or at least someone else there. They had a food truck setting up when I was there but I don't try it. The selection, while not huge was solid. I decided to try a DIPA and a TIPA and both were decent. The folks working were accommodating. If I get back over that way I'll be sure to stop by and try another drink or two.
