Ordered the Reuben egg rolls. They came out cold, hard and dry, like they were sitting in the back for an hour. Told the waitress and she ordered us a fresh batch. The second batch was much better, hot, juicy and delicious. Why would they serve us the cold, hard and dry ones in the first place? Next was the burger. Ordered The Works Burger. Their online menu lists this burger for $17. Must have raised their prices because now this burger is $20. Burger was smothered in an odd tasting mayo, making it a mushy mess. I was expecting a burger like the one pictured on their menu, but got one that was light on the "works" (little lettuce, no tomato) and heavy on the mayo which made everything mush. Solid average beer bar. The tots were delicious. The veggie burger was fine. My friends were fulfilled by the Rachel. There's not much to offer in that area, but this place was decent when we were in a pinch. I would go there again after a movie or show. read more

Stopped in on a Friday evening while in town for the weekend. Sat at the bar right away and the bartender was very friendly. She recommended some local brews based on what I've enjoyed in the past. I created my own burger, which was perfectly cooked and came out delicious! It did fall apart easily because the bun was pretty flimsy. I love dukes and it's great for game day! It's family owned and everybody knows everybody when you walk in which is always a great experience to have. The food had a home-cooked family recipe feel, which is delicious and there's 48 beer selections available for everyone's taste. The bartender that day was on! Good times and great people. You must visit this bar if you are into sports. Great place to go following a round of golf or if you want to relax with an icy cold one. Beautiful day to sit outside for lunch with the girls. The open space is secluded from the road but allows the breeze to come through. The waitress was very nice and quick to seat and check on us. Always consistent here, and sometimes that's all you need. I've watched games here or stopped by before a comedy show and always enjoy it. Can get a little loud but it's a good atmosphere. Very tasty and cozy spot in Homestead! Visited after a show nearby and had a very yummy dinner. The bar is cute and feels very home-y, and the food was great. Service was swift and friendly, too! I really loved the French onion soup - so much cheese! I enjoyed the grilled steak salad as well for my entree (I added tater tots instead of fries - delicious!) I so badly wish the weather had been nice enough to take advantage of the patio/upper deck, but we still loved Duke's regardless. It's laid back, service is great, and the food was incredible! We split the pierogi appetizer and the Pinkerton sandwich, which is a staple there for good reason. The sandwich comes absolutely loaded with sliced sirloin and the bread managed to be perfectly crusty and fluffy at the same time. Full disclosure, it's my first experience with pierogis, but I was impressed with how smooth the filling was and how flavorful they were. Had an awesome lunch at Duke's today! Wonderful quick service. We sat in the bar that was nice and had a difficult time deciding what to eat since everything looked good! We started with the zucchini as an appetizer and would definitely get it again. I had the Pinkerton-the sandwich and the roll it was on was amazing! They gave me so much steak and it was cooked to perfection, the fries were crispy and they must have homemade ranch because it was bomb! Dukes always hits! I'm not sure what they do to make their burgers so good but they are the best in the area hands down.

This is a great waterfront alternative if you want something more local. They have a parking lot and is right off the homestead bridge. We came for lunch on the weekend, and there were plenty of seating. I tried their Pitts Burger with a side of sweet potato fries. It was really good with the extra crunch from the onion rings. We also ordered an onion rings appetizer. It was really yummy. Their menu is pretty extensive for bar food. You can tell people who come here are regulars, enjoying their weekend lunch. Overall the food was above average, and the staff was friendly. I liked the chill vibe when we were there. We'll definitely be back for more! read more

First time visiting and I was quite impressed. My wife and I got an order of onion rings to split and they were fresh and delicious, not the premade junk you get at most places. I had the meatball calzone for my entree and only ate about 1/4 of it. It was perfectly cooked on the outside and steaming hot on the inside. Had enough leftovers for 2-3 more meals. Just reprimanded by our server because I questioned the bill on a $1 side I selected with my Build Your Own Burger. I ordered the baked potato, one of a long list of $3 sides, the fully loaded potato $5 listed, a clear upcharge. The server's response instead of adjusting the bill, was that the menu was printed wrong and confusing, but a baked potato didn't quality as a $1 side implying I should pay. I responded that I didn't know and as my server, she should have pointed out the upcharge when I ordered so I'd know beforehand rather than after I ate. She said she'd take it up with her manager, then came back and lectured me that they'd do it this once time but BETTER NOT ORDER AGAIN AND BETTER REMEMBER THIS. Turned a relaxing dinner into an annoying one. She could have been more gracious as it's their mistake. Tip adjusted. Will rethink how soon we return there. read more

We were just looking for a good old fashioned hamburger joint while visiting Pittsburgh and Duke's looked promising. Walking in, it doesn't look like much. It's a very small place with the bar taking up most of the space. They hung large mirrors up that helps it feel less enclosed. They have a decent sized menu and the build your own burger option, which is what we chose to do. We also ordered jalapeno poppers for an appetizer. The service was quick, our waitress was very nice and kept our glasses full, and the food was SO delicious! The burgers were fresh and hand pressed, the buns were toasted, which we love. When we're back in Pittsburgh again we'll definitely be stopping by Duke's!! read more

I was happy to find somewhere so close to home with such a big menu for days when I need a restaurant that my whole family can enjoy; Duke's had chicken entrees, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and lots of snack options that satisfied everyone in my party. I ordered the chicken salad and loved how crisp and delicious the fries were, and the seasoning on the chicken was delicious. On an earlier visit, I ordered wings, which were also good. We dined in around 9pm on a Friday and were able to snag a table in the quieter back room without any wait. Our waitress was friendly and personable, and made our table feel well cared-for. The menu was big and everyone's food that we saw looked great. I had a chef salad which was really fresh. The meat was delicious and the dressing tasted homemade. My husband had a hot roast beef sandwich and loved that as well. We went in at an odd time and it was still relatively busy so I'm sure this place fills up on weekends. Like it or not the bar is practicing social distancing and other requirements set for by the department of health. All employees were wearing masks. We were quickly seated and our waitress was very attentive. We had onion rings as an appetizer which were the second best onion rings I've ever had. There is also a QR code on the table for a current list of drafts. I ordered the French Dip, my wife had the Pinkerton, and my boys split a pizza. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The buns for the sandwiches were really good and high quality. As I said our waitress was very attentive and the draft beer was very cold. The environment itself has a lot of character you aren't going to get at a chain restaurant. My only ding is I think things are 1-2 dollars over priced. Despite the prices, I would definitely return based on the timeliness of service, quality of food, and attentiveness. Instead of eating prepackaged garbage at the Waterfront drive another two minutes here. You will be happy. read more

Opened at 12, we were the first ones in there, had a larger party, but all separate checks. But what I did not expect, was they didn't put ANY of our orders in before people who walked in after us. So after sitting there for 1/2hr after ordering, not a lot of the food was started... It was not a planned event we were going too. So we could not call ahead.
