Hal's has some truly great bar food, and I hesitate to just call it bar food because their menu has SO many interesting options. My husband and I stopped in for a late-ish dinner a few weekends ago for the first time. We were pleased to see how busy it was, and we were seated very quickly. The space is somewhat bifurcated into a dining area and a bar area, but it's still one cohesive room, so it does get a bit loud (we did not mind!) during your meal. I tried the smoked turkey burnt ends panini, which was exceptionally tasty. The smoked feta and the smokey turkey pieces were so delicious, and the pickles were a great compliment. I also enjoyed the sweet potato fries quite a lot! My husband said the wings were great, and I would consider him to be a wing expert. All of our food came out very quickly, despite it being so busy! It was a really fun ambiance and had great energy, and our server was so friendly throughout our meal. We were too full to try dessert, but I want to return to try other menu items and a sweet treat. What a gem of a local spot!

Stopped into Hal's with family and had a nice experience overall! It was pretty busy when we arrived, and they had the Pirates game on TV, which added to the lively atmosphere. We were seated fairly quickly despite the crowd. Our waitress was friendly, maybe a little rushed, but nothing too bad. I went with the Italian sub and tater tots. Nothing fancy, just your classic sub, but it definitely hit the spot. My husband tried the wings and was a big fan. Solid place for a casual bite and catching a game. Would come back!

I went here fully expecting slightly above average wings and that's exactly what I got. It's exactly what you would expect from a local sports bar. If I drank and ate like a dickhead everyday, I would totally come here at least once a week We sat outside since it was nice. Seating was good, inside was packed but tons of seating The French onion soup was actually pretty fucking awesome. Packed full of onions, bread and loaded with cheese. PLUS it was cooked in a ramekin which all French onion should be. Tater tots ass, just a frozen bag from the store. The wings, two positives about these. One, the chicken itself was meaty. Two, fried SUPER well. A bonus, they were $1 a wing for wing night. Negative here is that the sauces were pretty subpar. The spicy park tasted like a bottle of Frank's and the Fiery Raspberry gave me spicy BBQ. Not a BBQ guy with wings either. I am told their black and gold is solid though. Bad sauce on a good wing is like having sex with a condom. That layer is covering the full potential of something great. Either way you're still gonna eat because you're horny I would actually come back in the future IF I want wings on a Wednesday and didn't want to drive more than 10min. I would also only get dry rub wings and apps.

Sat at the bar and had lunch here on a Saturday. Food was really good & the nachos grande came out so fast! Great service, great vibes. Would definitely come back again!

I went here for my sons birthday. my son choose the location for the meal. We got there and where seated immediately. The person who sat us was very nice and friendly. I ordered a hamburger with fries and a french onion soup. The food was good not the best but very good What set this place apart from other places at least for me was the service. The gal who served us was amazing. She was super helpful super friendly and very attentive. She came back at least 5-6 times maybe more checking to see if we needed anything and that everything was ok. I have to say this was among the best service I have ever received at any restaurant anywhere. I would definitely go back again and I would highly recommend this Hal's Bar and Grill. I give the food a solid 3 stars but the service was actually 5 stars for sure overall I give them 4 stars.

Why start taking photos when the food arrives? Mushroom brie bisque and Caesar salad were a hit! Staff was great! Very attentive and food arrived quickly and it was very good. The restaurant is a little loud but lots of fun!

Second time here. One of the few places open after 10 pm. on a Friday night in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Large menu with decent bar food, rotating beers on tap. The place was packed & very loud. Servers were hopping & very attentive to all their customers. Even though the bar & restaurant area was crowded, it was very clean & they turned over their tables quickly, without rushing any of their customers out the door. Plan to go back in warmer weather for their patio seating.

The short rib grilled cheese was absolutely amazing. It was packed with tender meat.

Hadn't been back in a few years. Went last night for a friend's birthday dinner. We had a great time. My birthday friend started out with the pierogis. I don't eat them but my friends loved them and they looked good. I had the short rib grilled cheese, which was scrumptious. It was so meaty and tender. Loved it and will be dreaming about it. The French fries were very good. My birthday friend had the cod sandwich and fries which she really enjoyed. It looked really crispy and was quite large. My other friend really enjoyed her chicken salad. It came in a big bowl. They seemed to be a bit short staffed. Took a while to get drinks and food.

Great atmosphere. Fast & kind service. Food came out quick & hot, very tasty. Would recommend!

Service was amazing considering how busy it was. Harley, our server, had to make my martinis.. and she nailed it. Wings were crispy, burger very well seasoned (which I find is rare when ordering a burger), chilled water in a large glass bottle were "up" without needing to specifically ask. It was packed, but the service felt like we were the only patrons here. I had a bad experience 10 years ago, and just came back recently. Very glad I did!

The interior is painted black and has many sports stations and Keno games tuned in on the multitude of tv's. There are high top tables, a huge bar and a section of low top tables. A lot of families were gathered to eat and drink which was nice to see. Our waiter was really terrific! He was very patient, attentive and answered our questions about the large menu. We tried some wings (lemon pepper that were ridiculously coated with salt and nearly inedible and the Carolina Gold that were good) and the onion rings that were really good with big slices of onion in crispy batter. The California wrap was tasty but didn't really match what was described on the menu. It was filled with a 1/2 pound of turkey and bacon (who doesn't like bacon, right?) and a disappointing teeny tiny bit of lettuce tomato and avacado. The balance of meat to veggies was a little off. They have a great selection of beer and liquors but no wines listed that we could see. Overall, Shenanigans is a fun place for bar food and sports viewing.

Well, today was the day, and we had high expectations based on the photos and other Yelp reviews that we saw before dinner. It, unfortunately, did not live up to our expectations. The outdoor seating area is nice, and the entire restaurant gives off an upscale Primanti's vibe. We ordered the Pabst burger, Fried chicken sandwich, buffalo wings, and kids' chicken tenders. The French fries ended up being the favorite part of our meals. Everything else was so-so. Warning on the wings... They came out incredibly hot. I ate everything else in my meal and came back to them, but they were still almost too hot to eat. The service was solid, and the food came to our table quickly. I understand that "Tap House" is directly in the restaurant's name, but the patrons at the table next to us were enjoying Happy Hour heavily, and their conversation, during our time there, eroded into a significant amount of loud cussing. It definitely made me second-guess whether I would go here with my kids again. I think we'll give it another try, and I hope that today was just an off day.

Walking into BJ's is like opening a phone book from 1997. The menu is absolutely limitless. Page after page after page of "Sure, we can make that too." If you've ever thought, "I wish one restaurant served pizza, pasta, burgers, tacos, steaks, salads, and probably auto parts," BJ's has you covered. The restaurant is huge and has a long bar. World Cup Soccer was playing...seemed like it could be a fun place to watch sports. We started with beers, a glass of wine, and the spinach artichoke dip. The dip arrived quickly, which was impressive. The dip itself? Perfectly adequate. Not bad. Not good. Just existing. It was the Switzerland of appetizers. Next up, a salad and the burrata pizza. Fair warning: the pizza that arrived appeared to have only a passing acquaintance with the glamorous model featured in the menu photo. Apparently, the menu photographer deserves a raise. The salad and pizza hit the table, but our drinks were still on a spiritual journey somewhere between the bar and our booth. Thankfully, we had water, because dehydration was beginning to feel like a real possibility. Eventually the drinks arrived and we dug in. The pizza was... mediocre. Not offensively bad. Not memorable. Just aggressively average. Somehow it also managed to be dry, which is an impressive achievement for pizza. We asked for extra sauce, and our server happily brought out a cup. Unfortunately, the sauce appeared to have come directly from a refrigerator..... Nothing says "fresh pizza enhancement" quite like cold, cold marinara. To be fair, our server was pleasant, friendly, and genuinely trying his best. He was easily the highlight of the meal. Will we be back? Probably not. With a menu that large, you'd think they'd eventually stumble into greatness. On this visit, they mostly stumbled into mediocrity.
