My partner and I used to love going here or getting takeout when we were nearby. The food was always amazing, we usually got burgers or wraps, and the fresh cut fries were excellent. They were probably my favorite restaurant fries around. We came in to eat on our way back from Hartwood Acres, and wow, the fall from grace was pretty obvious from the start. It's been about a year since we last dined in here, and slightly more recently for takeout. The server, when she did finally come over to greet us, was very pushy about upsells and visibly disappointed when we weren't going for drinks or appetizers. She only stopped at the table twice before delivering our check; a runner dropped off our food and the server didn't check on us until we were basically done eating and I needed a box. I felt like she was one step away from rolling our eyes at us for getting water and (gasp) no dessert. As a former server myself I usually tip pretty generously, between 20% and 25% for average to good service, but this was an exception. She was borderline rude. But the service wasn't even the most disappointing part. They did away with the fresh cut fries and gave us some sad generic frozen ones. They were fine but they were nothing to write home about. Those fresh cut fries would be in my dreams once in awhile they were so good. To replace them with some Ore Ida crap I could get from the grocery store was beyond disappointing. My husband's burger was visibly lower quality. It had more lettuce on it than meat. Those burgers used to be thick and fresh, and this just wasn't it. My go to at Dive, the salmon BLT wrap, was OK, but the sauce was distributed unevenly in it. One bite would be completely dry and the next was drowning. I'm just overall disappointed that the food isn't as good anymore. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I would happily pay 20% more to maintain the quality we had in past experiences than pay the same for what we got on our most recent visit. Nothing better than a perfect Bloody Mary during brunch! Dive Bar is a personal favorite spot of mine and my bf's fam here in Pittsburgh. I was invited back for a photo shoot this weekend over great food and drinks. Dive Bar has a bunch of new menu items out now too. I always get the turkey gouda wrap and also tried a new app, the crab dip. The flavor was really crabby- in a good way! Prices are very reasonable and staff is always so nice. To say a one star is being kind....this place is quite sad to say the least. I would say a dive dump bar with over fried food and OUTRAGEOUS prices!!!! The turkey wrap was disappointing, the pretzel sticks had no salt and were over cooked, the beer prices were ridiculous!!! Even if you would go for happy hour you would still pay outrageous for a draft beer, unless you want a Miller Lite! We were the only people in there too and that should have been a clue!!! I'd give no stars if possible. Upset as others are about the fresh cut fries being gone, literally just crossed off the menu instead of redoing the menus. Gives a vibe of management not caring that you know they have lowered their standards. Our waitress never refilled our drinks. Only checked on my Mom and I once. Cold limp chips. Bland tasteless over cooked fried chicken sandwich, breading wouldn't stay on the chicken. I'm a fantastic tipper and only gave $1. Stay away from here, they are more than willing to showcase their lack of customer care. And we sat at a high top table right next to the register so saw our waitress pass by us multiple times. So in other words one of THE most visible tables in the restaurant. Put my cup on the edge of the table so I could be easily seen and she could care less. It's quite clear that you don't matter to them unless you are ordering alcohol, appetizers and dessert. read more

I have been to their outdoor bar and concert area twice to see bands play. It's such a fun and cool area to be! You can order food and drink at the outdoor bar, and the food will be delivered to you from the indoor restaurant. SO easy. I recently ordered the short rib tacos and they were AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. The short rib was tender and flavorful, and it was an easy outdoor bite to have. Also, the price for their food is a bang for your buck. I plan to go back for another band in July, and I can't wait. read more

This is a great spot to grab dinner with friends or to grab a quick bite at the bar. We have also gotten takeout from here multiple times and it's always great. The menu has so many options! I have only gotten delivery from here but always has very fast delivery and fresh delicious food. My favorite that I have gotten is the short rib melt that my dog stole after I took a couple bites and made the mistake of turning my back for a moment. I felt so betrayed. The salad with salmon I got another time was great too. Nothing too unique but good Cesar dressing and the salmon was cooked well. Kids liked the kids sliders. read more

We've become regulars. Menu has sufficient variety that we can both be happy. Fish and chips, burgers, are all done properly and the servers are always happy and pleasant to be around. Fried pickle appetizer good and the fried crimini mushrooms are really good if you like shrooms. Lightly breaded and so fresh. Horseradish sauce on the side and a very generous portion. On our last visit everything arrived at the table remarkably hot. Nice performance by the kitchen and wait staff and much appreciated on a cold day. They're using disposable cups (but not for wine) during the pandemic, which is a bit of a drag, but there's plenty of seating even with the current, pandemic-related capacity restrictions. read more

Excellent food!! Service is pretty good too. My waitress Sammy was very nice, working hard, and staying on top of refills. Nice atmosphere with a few televisions. Bar area with a dining room as well. Very family friendly for kids of all ages. I've been here twice and got a blue cheese burger the first time and most recently the pulled pork breakfast bowl. Both were amazing. They serve fresh cut French fries and the pretzel sticks as an appetizer are awesome. If I had a complaint it would be the parking lot is in very poor shape. A group of 14 of us went to The Dive Bar for lunch today. I'm impressed! The menu had so many fantastic selections! I have a lot of food allergies but there were so many options for me. I ended up getting the Cobb salad with balsamic vinegar dressing. The dressing was the best I ever tasted! The chicken was so fresh and wasn't polluted with garlic like a lot of restaurants. One of many Dive Bar & Grille locations around Pittsburgh. This one is located in Glenshaw near Hartwood Acres. First, it is extremely loud inside, especially when busy. Therefore I prefer takeout from here unless you can get an outside table in the summer. I have tried their food a couple times and it has been good. Some items on the menu we like are the turkey cobb wrap, their Cuban sandwich and the one armed fisherman fish sandwich. The sweet potato tots are also good. Service has been good. read more

A great spot in Glenshaw. Plenty of parking. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Staff friendly and service was great despite how busy it was. They have a pretty big cocktail list. I had the "Black and Blue" burger which was excellent. Prices are reasonable. Above the main restaurant is a beach/cabana type area which was really cool as well, great for the summer. Went at 6:00 on a Friday and the place was packed. Got our table for 2 in probably 15 minutes so not too bad overall. They have tables spaced and all typical pandemic guidelines being followed. They serve alcohol but you have to order food which is the current situation with all restaurants. My friend and I shared the artichoke dip and each had one alcoholic beverage which was within happy hour special time (5-7:00). They also have some Lenten specials so I tried the General tso's cauliflower which was so good! Crispy and a little spice. Also got the thai chicken wrap with a side of slaw. We've been here a handful of times - mostly due to the location being convenient for us. Overall, their food is fairly average, but the menu does feature a few standouts - for me, the burgers are a highlight. The servers have always been very friendly and attentive during our visits. Other than the overall experience being pretty middle of the road, I have to subtract a few stars from Dive Bar & Grille for not seeming to care too much about patron safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Maybe shame on me for going out to eat at all, but it was very alarming to see both servers and kitchen staff with masks below their nose or even further south. During our visit, a cook was seen with his mask below his chin basically around his neck while in the kitchen. Moments later, the same cook was drinking something (???) behind the bar; it wasn't horribly busy, but still... seemed pretty unprofessional. Oh well - I hope we don't get sick from their negligence. Again, maybe shame on us for dining out, I guess? I want to support eateries during this current crisis, but I'm not sure I'll be back again until after things have cooled down given the behavior we saw. Sorry guys. read more

We have been here several times over the past year and the food and service has always been the same-- great! We have never had a bad experience or meal. We have also had take out and love the special holders for tacos that keep them upright. All of employees have been polite and friendly. We have not experienced any of them acting stressed or in a rush. Mercedes is such a great bartender. She helps to select the best drafts with her knowledge of each one. I love it when someone knows their IPA's! She is also a delight to talk to and makes us feel so welcome. The happy hour lasts until 7pm! We ordered an app and a meal for our son to come out first, waited 45 min more then asked where our food was, server was dumbfounded. 5 min later all our food came out at once with an apology. The food was ok, I had the pulled pork croquets and thought it was delicious. My bf had a cheeseburger and said it was mediocre. Service was very slow. Took 30 minutes to get a drink and our order taken. The server didn't ask us about refills or if everything was ok. There were about 50 cars on the parking and while the dining room wasn't full, I assumed everyone was at the pavilion and left the dining room short staffed. Might go back once things are back to normal to see if it's any better. read more

They get one star only because I cannot give them zero stars, or negative stars. I made a reservation for a club 2 weeks ago. I told them that we usually have 15 folks attend, but that I would call the day before our reservation with a headcount of those who RSVP'd so that the restaurant would know how many tables to set up for us. I have done this for dozens of restaurants over the last 6 or 7 years for this club. Just called a few minutes ago, the day before our reservation, and the manager just informed me that they will not be open tomorrow because they are having their company picnic!!! I'm hearing this the DAY BEFORE MY RESERVATION!!! The manager claims he texted me to inform me of this. Really? I said that his reservation taker did not take down my phone number, so how was I texted? Also asked if he got a reply from the number he texted? Of course, I did NOT receive a text or call from them. Seriously, this is someone in charge of a restaurant? Dozens of ways they could have reached us, with minimal effort. But, I guess common courtesy and common sense are not qualities of this establishment. Hope you have a better experience. read more

The hostess sat us down at the table. As usual, they never clean the seats at restaurants so I brushed all the crumbs from the last customer to the floor. Our server was a very nice yong man (first day on the job), was very polite, he took our order. We ordered Chicken Wings, which were kind of dry but ok, and the blue cheese must have been some off brand or tasted like Ranch mixed in with a lump of blue cheese (it was not good). The Hometown salad was offered in beef or chicken (fries included on the salad), I requested chicken with balsamic dressing and it was very good. The description said it included fries, when we asked our server if it included fries he said no, there were only 2 buttons on the computer and the salad with chicken did not include fries. I thought, humm, that sounds odd. Hometown salad with no fries? I asked another waitress and she said there should be fries on the salad and offered to get fries for us, but I already ate almost my entire salad before I realized the fries were missing.
