Don't let the name of this place fool you. The Dive Bar & Grill is anything but a typical dive bar. There's no smoking because they're a full-service restaurant, and I appreciate that. They have food on the main floor and you can take the elevator to the second floor (yes, I said elevator!) where they have live music in Saturdays. They also have a pool table and dart boards up there. The food is pure preppy cuisine with items like sweet potato and cauliflower tacos, smoked Gouda risotto, and a salmon BLT that's sure to tickle your tastebuds.

Don't let the name fool you! The menu is big and the items are varied and delish. Grilled pickles, ahi tuna, quesadillas, general Tso's cauliflower was delightful, burgers and refreshing beverages too many to name but excellent selection. The band was awesome - Second Breakfast! Open air seating at pub table upstairs! Huge bar too. Definitely will go back soon, even with the distance. Price was very reasonable and atmosphere was a friendly busy trendy vibe. Free parking in big lot.

This is such a great local spot! The food is always good and reasonably priced. The menu is so big and there's something for everyone always. The staff is always nice. This location is super big so it's great for groups too and there's a parking lot. I really liked my chicken blt sandwich. It was huge and I liked how the bread was toasted with butter. The fries were really good too. Everyone was happy with their food. Love coming here for a quick bite.

I appreciate a competitive happy hour and appreciate the 5-7 time slot. In an area with a bit of competition these days in a 2 mile radius, I always enjoy the apps at $6 and decent beer selection much of which is $2 off at happy hour. There are slightly better beer deals around but the food specials are solid!

Came here for Happy Hour and dinner because I heard they have pretty good deals. The appetizer items on Happy Hour are limited but drink offers cover a lot more. I got a draft Volcano Sauce sour beer from Aslin Beer Company and it was good and fresh. For my meal I ordered the Alabama Slammer Burger. I was unfortunately underwhelmed by it. The beef is supposed to have brown sugar glaze on it, but I could barely taste it. The burger was a bit dry, overcooked, and lacking in flavor. The bacon on top was chewy vs. crispy but still had good flavor. The smoked cheddar and provolone was very nicely melted and a good amount of it though. The most disappointing part were the onion straws. They tasted stale, were not warm, and mainly excessive flaky fried batter instead of having onion inside. Also the Bama sauce was pretty non-existent and I definitely could have used much more to add flavor and moisture to the burger. It was an okay meal, I would recommend ordering something else on the menu other than a burger if you come here.

Dive bar use to be one of go to places if we couldn't figure out what we wanted. Food & beer selection was always good. We enoy the sauces you could choose for wings or calamari. We went a few weeks ago to the new location on Babcock in Ross twp. - not wowed. I will say that our server was good , food was tasty & beers were ok (not a big selection on tap that weren't IPA's). I'm not sure we will be making this a regular stop anymore. I wish them lots of luck.

The prices and portions were great. The food was bar food. The mixed drink was yummy. There are plenty of tvs to watch the game on. The service was fast. Our server made a couple mistakes but was really helpful with fixing them. I enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. The main floor was well kept and clean.

Happy hour? Yes, please. 6pm on a Wednesday evening, we arrive at Dive. The parking lot looks full but don't let that fool you. We were seated immediately at a comfortable table in the dining room. We were greeted promptly by a friendly server who quickly brought us our first round of Happy Hour priced drinks, and the $6 app came to us soon after. We got the cauliflower. It's lighter than fried and very tasty - not boring at all - large portion even for happy hour special. The sauce is not overpowering. It's great. Buffalo chicken sandwich was my choice - so good! Great balance of Buffalo flavor and blue cheese. It was especially good fried: the crunch added to the flavor, but you can also order grilled. I'll keep this in mind for a lower calorie choice but this time I went for the fried and I'm glad I did. It comes with one side, and I ordered regular fries. I could've skipped those since the appetizr was so plentiful (cauliflower). My husband chose the pulled pork melt. This was also a great choice. If you like tots, go for the sweat potato tots. They are served with a special cinnamon dip that compliments them nicely. Oh, about the happy hour, our server came back to us swiftly so that we had an opportunity to order a second drink at the happy hour price. Friendly service, comfortable atmosphere and great location. This is a must-go if you haven't been yet!

Happy hour time is crazy here! So busy which is a good sign. They've got great deals! You can tell the space is new and the staff is still training. Service was a bit slow and confusing but we got everything straightened out. The brussel sprouts app was my favorite and they've got great fries. I love that you can turn sandwiches into a wrap and vise versa. Going to try and come again sometime when it's not so busy.

    Loaded Croquettes
    Marysa M.

Dive bar is consistently wonderful. We always get the loaded croquettes and they're amazing. They're crunchy on the outside but full of soft mashed potatoes. They're an appetizer but filling enough for a meal. The side salad is a great size for the price too.

So if they can't spare more than a few tastes, I guess I can't decide on making a purchase. I tried the Steel City Bourbon which was hot AF, another bourbon the dude poured for me that I didn't ask for, then the Negroni cocktail. I had 3 samples that I just tasted and did not finish so I couldn't grasp why someone interested in purchasing something couldn't try a few more things. If I was there to get "free shots", I would have crushed each of the three 0.125 Oz pours he gave me. When you have like 100 varieties of stuff you're trying to sell, maybe more than 2-3 samples would be nice. Maybe pour less for a taste or something, but it was disappointing. I would have loved to try their Gin, Cinnamon Whiskey, Limoncello, and some others as well. Bummer!

Trivia and live music are sometimes available for entertainment. In the past few years, my husband and I have eaten at Wheelfish a few times. For our meals, the hostess and waitress promptly and politely served us. Here are my reviews for the foods: Pretzel bites - 4.5 stars - This appetizer was a large size. We really liked the flavor of the pretzels and the honey-mustard dip. We thought that the cheese dip was OK. Pulled-pork nachos - 5 stars - This appetizer of nachos was huge! Many tortilla chips were topped with gooey cheese, pulled pork, jalapeños, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Fried deviled eggs - 4 stars - The egg white was breaded and fried. It contained a yolk filling and was topped with a spicy jalapeño. We prefer traditional deviled eggs, but these ones tasted good. Mix-and-match soft tacos - 4.5 stars - The pulled-pork taco contained pulled pork and vegetable toppings that were very flavorful. For the brisket taco, I enjoyed the flavor of the brisket and toppings, but the juices made the tortilla soggy and caused it to fall apart. Shrimp tacos - 4.5 stars - These were on sale on a Thursday. The shrimp were breaded, and the toppings of napa slaw, mango salsa, and chipotle aioli tasted very good. Meat entrees - 4.5 stars - My husband liked the smoked chicken the most (5 stars), and he described it as being "delicious." We also ate ribs (4.5 stars), kielbasa (4 stars), brisket (5 stars), salmon (4 stars, needs more seasoning), and pulled pork (4.5 stars). Macaroni and cheese - 5 stars - My husband said that this macaroni was the cheesiest thing that he has ever eaten. He described it as "delicious." I ate some of the macaroni, and I agree that it was extremely cheesy. French fries - 5 stars - These fries were perfectly crispy and salty. Grilled vegetables - 4.5 stars - I wanted to make my meals more nutritious, so I chose a side of grilled vegetables, which are seasonal and included peppers, corn, squash, and zucchini. This mix of veggies had a very good flavor. Side salad - 4 stars - This salad contained a lettuce mix, some tomatoes, some pickled onions, and my choice of dressing. It was fresh but was slightly plain. Pork 'n beans - 3 stars - My husband ordered this side. He ate only a small amount of the beans and sauce, and he thought that they tasted just OK. For drinks, we had iced tea, diet Pepsi, and water. The waitresses brought refills.

Most often we have gone for live music. This time we were in the area and just wanted to grab a drink. They did have a DJ though which was fun. It was also a great choice because they stay open late when so many local places close early. They do have a limited food menu but I have never eaten there. They have a variety of drinks ranging from non alcoholic to beer or wine, even cider. The cocktail menu is where it's at though. There are so many choices and some unique combinations. It's been fun trying so many. I think my favorite drink on the menu is Galeophobia which comes in a fun shark glass. It's fruity without being too sweet and the macadamia liquor adds just the right amount of nuttiness in the background. I seriously could drink several of them. The Spork House Punch is another favorite. Immediately *pinkies up* with the fancy little crystal mug. The pear and lemon gives such great flavor and it's well balanced and an easy drinker. It also feels like a good value with the amount you get. This time my fiancé tried Elvis' death and loved the toilet mug. He said it was tasty but a bit expensive for what it was so he probably wouldn't order it again. Fun bartenders, great drinks, good atmosphere, enjoyable entertainment.. what's not to love?
