Old fashion and some reading material (aka, the menu)

Bitter End just started a new food and drink pairing concept. Two options on the menu that changes each week. This week was a delicious caprese salad with a unique twist on a dirty martini and a mushroom/shallot crostini with a fig infused bee's knees. Can't wait to see what's in store for next week!

This is probably my new favorite bar in town! It is very cute and the aesthetic is classic American cocktail bar. I love the art noveaux art they have around the bar. Love that the bartender/owner is in an apron with a paperboy hat. He was so nice and I'd genuinely be his friend. He had great recs! We loved all the drinks we tried. We had the Emperors new groove (our favorite!!!) with empress gin, clover club, brambleberry, and the corpse reviver with absinthe. They do absinthe here and have the traditional broilleur service. I'd love to try that sometime. The drinks are honestly amazing here and their menu is diverse! There's something for everyone. The space is big too and on a Friday night, it was very chill and we could talk and hear each other which was great. They also have snacks and dessert which is 100. Would definitely try that next time but we were full from dinner.

Slow service and rude. Probably the worst bar experience in over 20 years. It's really too bad, great location and cool bar.

A gem of a place. I have no idea what Britney is talking about above. Fabulous drinks, staff and atmosphere. A jewel near the city.

First of all you just feel welcome when you walk in the door. There is lots of bar sitting, along with some booths and even a couch. We usually grab some seats at the bar. There are frequently events going on and a wide range as well. Some events are ticketed, sometimes there is a cover and sometimes no charge. The artwork is great and all the fun photographs and sayings. Every time I'm there I spot something new. There is even a gumball machine with poetry in it. How cool. Most often we have gone for live music. This time we were in the area and just wanted to grab a drink. They did have a DJ though which was fun. It was also a great choice because they stay open late when so many local places close early. They do have a limited food menu but I have never eaten there. They have a variety of drinks ranging from non alcoholic to beer or wine, even cider. The cocktail menu is where it's at though. There are so many choices and some unique combinations. It's been fun trying so many. I think my favorite drink on the menu is Galeophobia which comes in a fun shark glass. It's fruity without being too sweet and the macadamia liquor adds just the right amount of nuttiness in the background. I seriously could drink several of them. The Spork House Punch is another favorite. Immediately *pinkies up* with the fancy little crystal mug. The pear and lemon gives such great flavor and it's well balanced and an easy drinker. It also feels like a good value with the amount you get. This time my fiancé tried Elvis' death and loved the toilet mug. He said it was tasty but a bit expensive for what it was so he probably wouldn't order it again. Fun bartenders, great drinks, good atmosphere, enjoyable entertainment.. what's not to love?

We stopped in on a Tuesday night and opted to sit at the bar since it wasn't busy. Something important to note is that when we arrived, the music was playing softly in the background. While the prices were decent, the service was not. Our waitress came over to us after our appetizers arrived, I asked for a refill, we made eye contact, she ignored me, and turned around. It took another ten minutes before I was able to get a refill, and she never asked again for the rest of the time we were there. The people sitting beside us arrived later and ordered similar food to us, and they somehow received their food quite some time before ours came out. I am almost certain the bartender forgot to put in our order. Halfway through our meal (which was okay at best), someone turned the music up so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak. I'm pretty sure "Brandy, You're A Fine Girl" played three times in a 30-minute window. It felt like we were intruding on a private party despite there being maybe seven other people at the bar. Despite clearly being done with our food, it took us another 30 minutes to get our checks. If you're looking for cheap bar food and don't mind repetitive music at varying levels of volume and being ignored by your bartender, give Sidelines a try.

Yay!!) the back patio was super cute, and large sized with string lights overhanging and multiple different sections for a cozy intimate vibe. We elected to sit at the bar, after we were able to grab two stools, (was pretty packed when we came in). The menu specials are adorable with different options, to include non-alcoholic drinks and snacks, let's not forget the candy bar! We had a few different drinks, I chose all of mine from the specialty menu, he chose some on tap draft and specialties. All super excellent. I had the lavender menace and the mermaid magic, along with a lavender lemonade. He had the pretty pretty princess and the archibald on tap. There's a store upstairs by the owner who was kind enough to let me shop during off shop hours. The shop is a combination of spiritual/witchy items and pride items. I purchased several items and the shop has a website storefront that offers shipping and e-gift cards. I got to meet Fred! The sweetest pupper ever, just absolute love. I left my boyfriend at the bar for shopping and petting a dog for a good 45 minutes. Oops.

They should be welcoming to everyone, of course, but as a queer witch myself, I was right in their demographic. I had been so excited to finally go and then it was just sad and odd. I tried to initiate conversation with sincere compliments at Maude's but there was weird tension. At the bar I felt invisible for quite some time and had to request service. It was so frustrating I didn't get a second round. I suspect others have had similar experiences there. For a bar that strives to be inclusive and welcoming , I felt I'd worn out my welcome as soon as i arrived.
