Favorite speakeasy bar in the city. Drinks are amazing, ambiance and vibe is wonderful. It is so beautiful inside
The selling point of this bar is that it is a hidden speakeasy & absolutely gorgeous. I've definitely had a better cocktail elsewhere but the service and vibes here were great and I would return !
Speakeasy in East Liberty. Great cocktails and friendly staff. I absolutely loved the vibe inside. I had the petal to the metal and it was balanced perfectly and super refreshing for a hot day. Can't wait for my next visit!

Very cool speakeasy tucked away in a back alley. It has a cool vibe and creative cocktails. The bartenders are great and will make you a cocktail based on your preferences. I've done this and the cocktail was perfect - highly recommend doing this if you're adventurous or just can't decide. The do have a short bar food menu, which is great to go with the cocktails. I had both the spinach dip and cheddar dip and both were excellent. This is a very small space so there is sometimes a wait to get in, especially on weekends.

I wanted to tap the knocker and be let in all sleuth-like. Really amazing service with incredibly talented mixologists. That PBJ cocktail is literally everything.

This spot is very cute! It is a lot smaller than I thought it would be based on pictures online and is pretty hidden in an alley behind Lorelai. I like the vibes inside a lot and they have a lot of cool drinks. I really liked my mezcal drink, it was delicious. My friend didn't like her drink as much since she thought it smelled like ham. Most of my party really liked our drinks though. Staff was pretty chill and nice too. It wasn't crowded on a Wednesday night which was nice and low key. Definitely recommend this spot for a nice nightcap with a small crew.

Anytime I am grabbing dinner around East Liberty I have to stop in at Commerce Bar after for a quick bev :) They only allow you to sit, which I like. It helps keep it feeling less crowded and spread out. The servers come to your table and grab your drink orders. They are also so kind and eager to help you decide on a drink! I usually don't get food here, but they do have a small food menu! I have tried the charcuterie board before and it was great. If you have never been to Commerce Bar, I cannot recommend them enough.
First time speakeasy trip or seasoned speakeasy enthusiast? Well look no further than Commerce since it is perfect for your first or regular visit to a speakeasy! After visiting some of nyc's best, I have been meaning to check out commerce for a while and I'm so glad I did. After arriving on a Friday night with no reservations, the hostess was able to squeeze my party of 3 at the bar and, in my opinion, it's always the best seat in the house. The bartenders are so kind, patient, and friendly... could not have asked for better service! I loved the interior and the amount of greenery insider considering it is a pretty dark place. Very intimate seating and there is a beautiful chandelier above the bar. My party and I decided to go with the "tempting fate" cocktails for all of our drinks and we cannot recommend it more. Simply tell the bartender your likes and dislikes in a cocktail and be amazed by what they come up with! We all loved our drinks were surprised with all the drinks we got when we asked them to make "whatever you want". My favorite cocktail of the night was when I asked for a cocktail with floral or Asian inspired flavor accents, I got a hendrick's gin based drink that was delicious. To add to the great experience, I noticed they had menstrual products stocked in the bathroom which is something I wish more places supplied. It's incredibly thoughtful and I wish it was a standard today! Can't wait to return.

So kind and attentive and has a lot of care for his job it seemed. I didn't catch his name but will definitely be back to see him hopefully! I had the fade into me cocktail and the espresso martini flight. The bartender said most of the glassware here is thrifted so it's all different! Just another fun thing about this place.

We were seated fairly quickly because of the online waitlist. We didn't get any food, but I got an old fashioned and it was so good. Came out promptly and service was good. Chill and nice vibes. Would recommend and definitely will come back!
Three of us stopped by on a Thursday night around 8:30pm and were able to get a table right away. It was pretty chill with only a few other parties there. The inside is dimly lit and has that gorgeous chandelier. There's bar seating, a few tables on the ground floor, and a few tables on a higher level. They have some snacks but we skipped those and went straight for the cocktails. The cocktails overall are excellent and I'll definitely be back! read more
I rly like the vibe, gets busy at night so should reserve ahead of time. Cool drink combos, nice staff, ambient date place : ). I love going to little speakeasies like this with my wife, glad there is one here in pittsburgh. read more

A review had said "look for the light" and that was very helpful otherwise we would've been wondering around an alley way. As a non drinker, I really appreciated that they had NA beverages besides soda, including an apple cider type drink. A cozy, cute, and intimate bar. read more

What a special intimate speakeasy! The vibe was perfect, dim lights, creative drinks, amazing service - I live fairly close and have been wanting to visit and finally chose to celebrate our anniversary toast here. We couldn't have chosen a more perfect location. We actually arrived pretty early, around 7:30 pm. We walked right in, were sat immediately, and felt relaxed because there wasn't a rush- we could just "be." Cheers to the Commerce Bar for making our anniversary night special read more

Commerce is such a fun experience. A perfect spot for snacks and drinks with casual yet upscale vibes. Take the adventure and explore the alley in pursuit of the black door with the light on top. You will be greeted by staff to seat you. The space is cozy but dramatic. Drinks are inventive and well executed. Prices are reasonable. read more
Recently had friends visiting Pittsburgh and knew that I had to bring them to Commerce for an after-dinner drink! The speakeasy vibes are so cool, and the drinks are always interesting & delicious. I had the bellhop (which was citrusy & refreshing) and also a glass of the rosé cava. Everyone I was with enjoyed their cocktails, and the service was attentive & helpful with any questions we had. They also serve bar snacks - we got some chips & dip that were both good! The only downside to Commerce is that it's not very big & you can't make reservations, so we had to wait an hour for our table. On the nice side, though, we were able to go somewhere else while we waited & they sent us a text when the table was ready. Just be prepared that if you go with a group you will likely have a wait (as most of the tables are better sized for 2-3 people). I will definitely be back! Great speakeasy bar with some of the best cocktails in Pittsburgh in a lovely setting (surprising skylight and a gorgeous chandelier!). Had a really nice Manhattan variation with their house made orgeat (walnut or almond flavor). They also have genever, so I ordered a genever Martinez which was perfectly executed. They have a limited food menu, and the oysters were really good and fairly priced. And the staff here are both chill and knowledgeable at the same time, and I really enjoyed the hospitality here. The place can get packed on weekends, but going at opening hour mid-week was nice. Definitely a must go destination for any cocktail lover! read more

Spectacular little spot! Hidden in a back alley but as soon as you walk in your are transported. It's super small inside (maybe 6 tables and a small bar) but it's worth the wait. Our drinks were fantastic. I couldn't decide on my second drink so I told the bartender what I like and don't, and he made one to surprise me. We didn't eat any food but they are connected with muddy waters oyster bar, so I'm sure the food was good. Come here with friends, come here on a date, it doesn't matter, just get there. The decor, drinks and vibe are not to miss. read more

Commerce Bar is by far has one of the nicest ambiances in the area. Drinks are nice too. However, I think their dishwasher is broke. I was there the other night and I got a glass of wine. The glass was foggy and sticky. I told the server and she brought me a new glass that was just as bad (see picture). Not sure what's going on and I didn't want to make a fuss, but not what you'd expect for a $14 glass of wine... read more
If you're looking for the perfect date night or intimate girls night spot in Pittsburgh, check out Commerce Bar speakeasy in East Liberty. -The cocktails are unique & delicious served in pretty glassware. Don't know what you want? Try "tempting fate" & let the bartenders decide. -I also had the "Magical Mystery Rye", which was a bit less strong & more sweet than I was expecting but was good. -The "Cranberry Bogs Forever" that was super unique with cognac, Cointreau, & pickled cranberry brine - served up in a coupe almost reminiscent of a cranberry margarita with the saltiness. -They offer bar bites (incl oysters) & desserts. Clearly...the cozy glam vibes are hard to match. Hello, show-stopping 7 ft chandelier, hanging plants, & antique decor! The doorman and our server were both very friendly too. This little Pittsburgh cocktail bar is located just around the corner from Lorelei in the alley behind a nondescript black door with a light over it. If you need to wait for a table, Lorelei is the perfect spot to do so. read more
Summary: If you're in PIT for a drink/apps, this place is hard to beat. Service 5/5 - friendly, make great drinks Servers: Aaron (a TX man), Alicia, Ryan were great a personable and very skilled at what they do! Ambience: this place is a Speakeasy - go through alleyway and go in through nondescript black door. Free street parking after 6p. Pretty dramatic difference between the alley and what's inside. Great Ambient light in the evening with a partial skybox. Two floors, intimate but spacious. Great place to hang. I came here on a Thurs (no line) but it looks like weekends are a diff story, so fair warning. Food: Had the olive tapenade and shrimp cocktail. They do not have full-on meals, but the apps they had were solid. Drinks: top notch. I love that they have the "tempting fate" option - where the bartender makes you a surprise. I had them name their drinks while I was here, and they were pretty clever about it. Overall: Well worth the time/money. The Commerce Bar is pleasantly situated Speakeasy right on the edge of East Liberty. As soon as you walk in, your transported into a place out of Gatsby's imagination. The high center piece chandelier give off the grand feeling of being in a real life speakeasy in the roaring 20s. I've been telling myself that I'd be popping in, and finally got the opportunity of a calm rainy Saturday. For me, there really wasn't that much of a wait to enter. Must have been a slower night, but I was able to get seated in around 5 minutes. Seated right above the bar, I was able to really take in the spectacular view amongst the dim ambiance. It was really a beauty. As far as drinks go, I ordered a Roller's Choice which is puts your order in Lady Luck's hand with a roll of the dice. Luckily, for an extra 2 dollars you can "Bribe The Bartender" to swap the drink. I ended up getting my go-to base which is whiskey. I also ordered a chicken sandwich to-go. Being able to drink fine spirits, and eat good meals made for a perfect Saturday night. read more
