    Beers beers and beers

I live only about 2 blocks away from this bar but have never thought of stopping by until this past Friday. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by it. By no means, is this a fancy bar but it surely is carries like one when it comes to the selection of craft beers. Being a dive bar, I assumed most of the patrons are mostly locals and pretty friendly. And it does have that cafeteria feel to it especially in the seating area. There's a separate pool table room, couple slot machines and an electric dartboard across the bar area. So, we spent most of our time just playing darts and by the time we had few drinks - the place was pretty packed. The beers are very reasonable priced - and majority of them drafts were 8%+ ABV. I had couple pints of Guiness and Yards' Thomas Jefferson which I believe was 8% as well. Definitely, well worth the visit again.

The service is always above and beyond. The ambiance is phenomenal, especially on Fridays with karaoke or a band. The drinks are very good!

Conveniently in the heart of Mt. Lebanon with delicious selections of pastries and coffee…read more Stop #3 on our Pittsburgh Coffee Passport We were headed to South Hills Village and this cafe was right along the route. Orbis is well known for its dirty chai, so we grabbed an iced dirty chai latte and a vanilla oatmilk latte (our constant to rank the passport cafes). We couldn't resist the display of pastries, so we also grabbed the quiche of the day (chicken & mushroom quiche), an apricot white chocolate oatmeal cookie, and their also well known.. chocolate cinnamon bread pudding. The coffee was solid. I love that they offer to serve it in real glasses and mugs... there is something so relaxing about not drinking out of paper and plastic. The food will make us come back. The quiche had such a flaky crust and they heat it up just right. The cookie had chunks of dried apricot with white chocolate chips and the rolled it in sugar for the extra crunch. The flavor combinations were original and that BREAAD PUDDDINGG. Unless you are allergic to flavor and fun.. you should do whatever you can to go get this! They have two unisex bathrooms down the back hallway. Trust me.. choose left lol. The seating is spacious with lots of room and all sorts of options from cozy couches, posh bar area, and what felt like laptop row of professionals enjoying a coffee and doing work. This place gets a solid four beans in our passport. Yes, we will stop by when we pop in and out of South Hills too!

The Apple Chai Latte was so incredibly delicious, could not ask for a better warm drink for the winter than chai with apple cider. Great staff, great spot, one of the favorite in Mount Lebanon!

They're located in Dormont, which makes this a walkable brewery for me (thanks to having friends and family in the area!). A friend and I did indeed walk over to catch up on a recent Friday. The place was surprisingly quiet - my friend mentioned that they get VERY busy during the summer, when people attend events across the road and want to buy beer to go with their market and/or food truck purchases. Speaking of food trucks, Hibachi Lou was parked out front on this particular Friday. So my friend and I got our hibachi orders at the truck out front; ordered our beer and/or cider from the bar; and took everything to a table in Back Alley's dining area to enjoy. While the place wasn't packed it wasn't empty, either; families and groups of friends were playing board games at every other table or so. So, what did I think about the drinks? I'm really glad Back Alley had Arsenal Cider on tap - I ordered a glass as my "sweet treat"/dessert after dinner. First though, I decided to try a beer. Back Alley, if you see this: I'm a BIG fan of sour beers and would order those if they're on the menu in the future! As of now though, no sour beers, so I ordered a "Snowed In" - Back Alley's spiced winter ale. It was a dark beer with a blend of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, hence the "spiced" moniker. While not something I normally seek out, I really enjoyed it and am glad I tried it! Altogether, it was a 10/10 experience - I'm so glad my friend and I came here for our Friday together. I'll be back!
