Sweet Potato Latkes - A dish featuring green beans, a fried egg topped with chopped chives, fresh lettuce, and a dollop of sour cream, served on a white square plate.

First time visiting Orbis Caffe last most and will definitely be back! From the unique food and coffee offerings to the welcoming atmosphere, this place is different from a typical coffee shop. After the employees kindly answered all of my questions, we tried the Sweet Potato Latkes and two coffee drinks - all were great! From the posters and information hanging around the store, it appears there are lots of community events and different offerings at the space, such as trivia nights. There is a ton of seating, and the vibes were chill as we visited early on a Sunday afternoon. I look forward to visiting again for some of the full bar offerings, more of the menu, and to take advantage of all of the workspace available for patron's use!

The coffee here is solid and does the job! Things you should know: I. PARKING There are various options. Street parking, public parking lots and a nearby public parking garage. All easily accessible ~ the only hold-up is that they're paid parking spots, costing about $1/hr. Not bad. II. SERVICE Timely and really patient at taking my crazy beverage orders. They offer sugar free syrups for my friends who like guilt-free options for their drinks. III. QUALITY I'm a snob about my coffee, but their cold brew passes the test. My grandmother, who cannot have caffeine anymore, really enjoys their decaf lattes. The atmosphere is inviting and well designed. It's a great place to camp out at and knock out some work/studying. IV. Fair amount of available seating during weekday late-morning. Seems to be a good time to camp out.

My new favorite place for Sunday brunch!! Not overwhelmingly crowded, great food, drinks, and employees!!!

When I first started coming here many years ago, even before I actually lived in Pittsburgh, it was my go to coffee shop. The owners really took pride in the shop, it was always clean and the owner and employees were always smiling and knowledgeable about the coffee - not your typical "I'm a barista, so I know better than you" that one experiences in many coffee houses these days. And the coffee was always top notch, obviously the most important point. Fast forward a few years later and it's become a true cafe. A very good menu that changes depending on the season and even day to day. Decided to stop by for brunch because Croque Madame was on the menu. There aren't a lot of tables so it can go fast, but luckily we found a spot at the bar. Even though the cafe was at capacity, it wasn't noisy, and it felt comfortable. I'd usually a great image to come and chill with e coffee. Yes, one can chill with a hot coffee! The main attraction - the Croque Madame - really was amazing. The quality of the cheese and the preparation/cooking were just right. Very much like the time we ate it in Paris many years ago. Full disclosure - I am biased as I've come here for years, except not as much recently, and this is the first time I've actually dined here - always just a latte either to go or sit and read. Been making too since they added a cafe menu, but better late than never! If you come to this cafe you won't be disappointed. I recommend checking the menu first as it does change. But if you see something you typically like, I feel confident you won't be disappointed.

While staying in the area I stopped in here one weekday morning for breakfast and a coffee. I think this might be the only breakfast joint open on a Tuesday morning near the Springhill Suites in Mt. Lebanon. The staff was friendly. They have a nice coffee menu. As for their breakfast menu, it's limited to what's in the display case and I opted for the breakfast wrap, which was fresh and pretty tasty. Coffee was nice too. Definitely would recommend!

Very reasonably priced coffee shop. They have a food menu but not a lot of options. Just small items (bagels, cookies, scones, etc.). I got a Lavendar latte. It was good but I barely tasted the flavor. They have a lot of seating. People were working on their laptop. There is free WiFi.

I had the most wonderful date here tonight. We ordered the cheese board and it was a fabulous assortment of cheeses, crackers, dips and snacks. I was shocked how quiet and empty it was for a Friday night- truly the perfect place to start a night out with appetizers and drinks- such a huge selection! The music and lighting were delightful- perfect for conversation. I will definitely be back for some daytime pastries and a tea!

We were looking for a quick bite while we were in the south hills and stumbled into Orbis caffe. The place was cute and quaint, and seemed like it was divided into two rooms - one for the bar and other for the coffee shop. There was plenty of seating. Although we didn't order anything at the bar, I love that they had a variety of cocktails and beers. The coffee, service, and ambiance was excellent. The food was just on par with any standard cafe, but the prices were shockingly low. The salmon bagel and wraps were only $6-$7 each!! This place is definitely a great to stop by if you're on the go or if you want to sit and relax.

Nice selection of baked goods, and great coffee bar. Indoor and outdoor seating, beautifully decorated. We tried the breakfast sandwiches this time around, they were pretty good. The quiche that I ordered was fresh, and very tasty. Little pricey.

Orbis Caffe exceeded my expectations! I was looking for a quiet spot to grab a quick bite and get some work done and Orbis was perfect. I placed my order at the front desk then grabbed a seat by the window and waited for them to call my order. There were a few fresh quiche to choose from, as well as a variety of other baked goods and savory options. I ordered a slice of quiche and a vanilla latte. Both items were served up quickly and piping hot. I loved the quiche and would definitely recommend; it seemed to be freshly baked and included some unusual ingredients as opposed to your typical slice of quiche. I enjoyed the flavor of my beverage, as well, and loved the added touch of the design on top.

Picked up a nitro cold brew and a vegan blueberry muffin, both were good and highly recommend. Saturday morning was no joke by the way, pretty crowded and busy. Definitely going back for a brunch next time!

They do not take reservations and we joked about there being a line. Well, when we showed up 10 minutes before opening, there was indeed a line. However, we went on Valentine's Day to one of the only GF places in the city, so that was to be expected. They were able to accommodate our party of seven no problem, and the staff were so friendly. Our server was amazing. One of our party members is hard to please, but our waiter was on top of it! We ordered a variety of apps for the table - wings, brussel sprouts, and fried provolone. All tasted fantastic. My husband and I agreed we would come just for the wings alone. Perfect smokey flavor. We got the hot buffalo garlic and they weren't super spicy. The marinara with the fried provolone was creamy and delicious. The Brussels were your standard side that every place has with the balsamic glaze. Not mushy at all and the garlic aioli was the best touch. We saw the food coming out and had to make room... the portions are huge! I could only finish half my burger and took the rest home. It was juicy, full of flavor, and easy to handle. Sometimes when you get a massive burger it ends up so sloppy and the toppings just slide off. Not with this! Perfectly stacked and ready to be devoured. The fries were a little greasy but still crispy. They earned my crisp seal of approval! The drinks were strong and everybody loved them. I got the blushing lady and it was sweet but not overly sweet and I could actually taste the spirits. Fantastic bar food options for people who are GF. We visited for the first time because someone in our group was GF and we would definitely go back!

When we walked in, the host greeted us right away, asked for our name, and seated us pretty quickly. There were actually a good amount of open seats, so I am not sure reservations were completely necessary, but it was still nice to have one. I honestly expected the inside to feel more extravagant and space themed, almost like an outer space vibe with more visual elements and atmosphere. I was hoping for something more immersive and futuristic. It was still cool overall, just not quite as visually dramatic as I imagined. We ordered an espresso martini and the Kiwi Nova. I really enjoyed my drink, especially after talking with the host who explained that they use scientific processes for their cocktails along with fresh purées and fresh ingredients. That is something I really appreciate because I am not a fan of drinks made with a lot of simple syrup or fake additives. He loved his espresso martini and said it was one of the best he has had. My drink was definitely on the sweeter side and I feel like too much of it might lead to a hangover, but it was still really good. Our server was attentive at first, but later on we ended up waiting a while to order another round. After sitting for a bit, we decided to order through the hostess instead and she got us taken care of right away. Overall, it was a cool experience mainly for the drinks. The cocktails were definitely the highlight. Service was okay, and I am not sure if we will return, but I am glad we finally got to check it out.
