Orbis is well known for its dirty chai, so we grabbed an iced dirty chai latte and a vanilla oatmilk latte (our constant to rank the passport cafes). We couldn't resist the display of pastries, so we also grabbed the quiche of the day (chicken & mushroom quiche), an apricot white chocolate oatmeal cookie, and their also well known.. chocolate cinnamon bread pudding. The coffee was solid. I love that they offer to serve it in real glasses and mugs... there is something so relaxing about not drinking out of paper and plastic. The food will make us come back. The quiche had such a flaky crust and they heat it up just right. The cookie had chunks of dried apricot with white chocolate chips and the rolled it in sugar for the extra crunch. The flavor combinations were original and that BREAAD PUDDDINGG. Unless you are allergic to flavor and fun.. you should do whatever you can to go get this! They have two unisex bathrooms down the back hallway. Trust me.. choose left lol. The seating is spacious with lots of room and all sorts of options from cozy couches, posh bar area, and what felt like laptop row of professionals enjoying a coffee and doing work. Absolutely love this cafe! It's such a nice, warm vibe inside, great to meet up, chat, or get some work done! The Apple Chai Latte was so incredibly delicious, could not ask for a better warm drink for the winter than chai with apple cider. First time visiting Orbis Caffe last most and will definitely be back! From the unique food and coffee offerings to the welcoming atmosphere, this place is different from a typical coffee shop. After the employees kindly answered all of my questions, we tried the Sweet Potato Latkes and two coffee drinks - all were great! From the posters and information hanging around the store, it appears there are lots of community events and different offerings at the space, such as trivia nights. There is a ton of seating, and the vibes were chill as we visited early on a Sunday afternoon. I stayed at the hotel nearby so I could walk here to get my oat milk lattes. Prime location, quick service, cool vibe.

The coffee here is solid and does the job! Things you should know: I. PARKING There are various options. Street parking, public parking lots and a nearby public parking garage. All easily accessible ~ the only hold-up is that they're paid parking spots, costing about $1/hr. Not bad. II. SERVICE Timely and really patient at taking my crazy beverage orders. They offer sugar free syrups for my friends who like guilt-free options for their drinks. III. QUALITY I'm a snob about my coffee, but their cold brew passes the test. My grandmother, who cannot have caffeine anymore, really enjoys their decaf lattes. The atmosphere is inviting and well designed. It's a great place to camp out at and knock out some work/studying. IV. Fair amount of available seating during weekday late-morning. Seems to be a good time to camp out. read more

When I first started coming here many years ago, even before I actually lived in Pittsburgh, it was my go to coffee shop. The owners really took pride in the shop, it was always clean and the owner and employees were always smiling and knowledgeable about the coffee - not your typical "I'm a barista, so I know better than you" that one experiences in many coffee houses these days. And the coffee was always top notch, obviously the most important point. Fast forward a few years later and it's become a true cafe. A very good menu that changes depending on the season and even day to day. Decided to stop by for brunch because Croque Madame was on the menu. There aren't a lot of tables so it can go fast, but luckily we found a spot at the bar. Even though the cafe was at capacity, it wasn't noisy, and it felt comfortable. I'd usually a great image to come and chill with e coffee. Yes, one can chill with a hot coffee! The main attraction - the Croque Madame - really was amazing. The quality of the cheese and the preparation/cooking were just right. Very much like the time we ate it in Paris many years ago. Full disclosure - I am biased as I've come here for years, except not as much recently, and this is the first time I've actually dined here - always just a latte either to go or sit and read. Been making too since they added a cafe menu, but better late than never! If you come to this cafe you won't be disappointed. I recommend checking the menu first as it does change. Truly one of the rudest places I've been to. I go and am super nice to the workers and they are rude. I came in with my mom before and she ordered and they asked her if she wanted it for here or to go. When it was my turn they didn't ask me any of that and just gave me my stuff to go. So I sat with my mom who had her food nicely plated and here I am with a bag of food. I'm constantly trying to give this place a good try but they are just the rudest and I would never recommend a place like this to others. read more

While staying in the area I stopped in here one weekday morning for breakfast and a coffee. I think this might be the only breakfast joint open on a Tuesday morning near the Springhill Suites in Mt. Lebanon. The staff was friendly. They have a nice coffee menu. As for their breakfast menu, it's limited to what's in the display case and I opted for the breakfast wrap, which was fresh and pretty tasty. Coffee was nice too. I had the most wonderful date here tonight. We ordered the cheese board and it was a fabulous assortment of cheeses, crackers, dips and snacks. I was shocked how quiet and empty it was for a Friday night- truly the perfect place to start a night out with appetizers and drinks- such a huge selection! The place was cute and quaint, and seemed like it was divided into two rooms - one for the bar and other for the coffee shop. There was plenty of seating. Although we didn't order anything at the bar, I love that they had a variety of cocktails and beers. The coffee, service, and ambiance was excellent. The food was just on par with any standard cafe, but the prices were shockingly low. The salmon bagel and wraps were only $6-$7 each!! Orbis Caffe exceeded my expectations! I was looking for a quiet spot to grab a quick bite and get some work done and Orbis was perfect. I placed my order at the front desk then grabbed a seat by the window and waited for them to call my order. There were a few fresh quiche to choose from, as well as a variety of other baked goods and savory options. I ordered a slice of quiche and a vanilla latte. Both items were served up quickly and piping hot. I loved the quiche and would definitely recommend; it seemed to be freshly baked and included some unusual ingredients as opposed to your typical slice of quiche. I have had Orbis Caffe on my list of places to check out for a while now. I was in Mt. Lebanon for a meeting and stopped here after. It is totally not what I was expecting in the inside. It's so big for a coffee shop!! Not only do they have every kind of coffee you can imagine, but they have a small food menu, lots of treats, and wine/cocktails! I already can't wait to go back for happy hour. I worked at Orbis from 11am-1 pm and it was a relaxed atmosphere. Some people were chatting, others working, others on the phone. When I walked in I told the man working that it was my first time there. He showed me the menus. I ordered a slice of quiche (asparagus, artichoke, mushroom, feta) and a soy latte. I know everyone is on the oat milk trend, but I love a soy latte. Not many places carry soy milk anymore, so I was pleasantly surprised. My latte was ready right away and the quiche was warmed up and brought to my table. It was so rich yet fluffy inside. I will definitely order it again next time. I also plan to try their pastries next time too. I follow them on Instagram and see that they serve a Sunday brunch that looks incredible! Their happy hour is from 4-6 pm and they have an awesome wine selection! They also serve small plates on Saturdays and Sundays from 5-9. Wow!!! I don't know how these people do it, but I am so blown away. They have food coming out of their kitchen from morning till night, but the owners never seem to stop smiling and even stop to treat you like family! I have been here twice, and both times the food made my taste buds go wow!!! It's both a cafe and evening wine and snacks bar. I love the combo of items they use to bring you fresh idea menu options. 5 star restaurant quality food without the huge $$$ price tag. I am so happy we had the honor of eating here and I can't wait to try more on their menu. Came in to grab a chai before a local appointment. It's a great little coffee shop that seems to be able to support the taste of morning coffee or a brunch mimosa and ice cream for dessert. I was only in and out quickly, but the service was fast, and the price was fair. I did have a chocolate croissant, which was rich and delicious. The Orbis brunch is so unique and always amazing! They change their brunch menu all the time and there's so many original meals. It's a coffee shop that does brunch but also serves alcohol... my three favorite things! I got a pea scotch egg and I am praying they put it back on their menu one of these weeks because it was so delicious. I also got crab cake eggs Benedict and it was so good. I've been visiting this coffee house location since I was a high school student - so I've seen it under different names and enjoyed its offerings many times over the years. As of late, as much as I hate to say it, Orbis has stopped becoming a go-to spot for me. The biggest reason for this, is that their offerings don't really "do it" for me. The ingredients don't feel as fresh, truthfully. For example, I thought a plate of quiche I ordered recently tasted stale; and a mocha seemed somewhat "flat" and lacking in that delicious flavor that separates a mocha from a standard espresso. It really pains me to write a lower star review about a family shop, because I always want to see the little guys do well. And Orbis has always been a cute, cozy little place, perfect to meet with friends, to curl up with a book, or get some work done on a laptop. I won't pretend to know the intricacies of their behind-the-scenes process, but if I had to take a guess, a few more checks and balances on when product is shipped in - and regarding how long it's left out in their display case - might be a quick fix to my comments above. For now, Orbis is an a-ok place that I visit on occasion. But I do still visit it, so I'll be back, and I'll be sure to write an updated review when the right time comes! read more

This place is awesome! So trendy and cute inside. We came from breakfast, but they offer an evening menu with an alcoholic bar as well. I also saw an advertisement for Trivia night! The food was surprisingly delicious! We expected a small piece of salmon on the bagel but were pleasantly surprised by very large amount! The quiche was seriously mouth watering good, so flavorful. The breakfast wrap was also pretty phenomenal. One thing to mention- the price points are also shocking- but in a GOOD way! I wouldn't call it cheap by any means, but the quality & quantity of food we received was well worth the 25 dollars! We are big fans & we will definitely be back. 10/10- highly recommend if you like a vibey cafe atmosphere. read more

Very cool coffee shop to check out. Lots of options on how you like it made. Example, pour over, French press, others I didn't know existed, etc... Price wise, lattes start around $3 and go up. In line with the prices of mainstream places. Located in a plaza with lots of stores near by and limited street parking. My latte was pretty good. They had soy and almond as milk alternative which I really appreciate. The quality of the coffee seemed good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to drink coffee here. I went to this coffee shop expecting a really cute and unique cafe. While it was pretty cute, there were some things I did not like much. To begin, there is a very awkward entrance that is narrow with tables everywhere. There is another side to the cafe, but the way that it is divided, creates a bit of chaos when the cafe is crowded. The atmosphere and organization of the shop flows a bit oddly, and it just wasn't to my taste. Furthermore, the cortado I ordered was not that great-- the espresso tasted burnt and flat as if the beans were over roasted. I'm not sure who the supplier is. So all this time Starbucks had me thinking a macchiato is a reversed latte meaning espresso is poured on top, rather than the milk poured over the espresso. I never understood the actual difference, except for "aesthetic" purposes. With that being said, I can tell Orbis is an authentic Italian/European coffee shop because the macchiato they served me was a shot of espresso with a dash of milk, how it should be. They sold a variety of coffee machines like the Moka pot and pour over. They also offered a variety of pastry items for sale! I will definitely be back. The employees were so nice! read more

It is simple. I have been buying whole beans from Orbis Cafe for years probably purchased over 75 bags. I purchased whole beans yesterday and the blend was fruit fermented. I used 43 grams of it and brought the beans back. I expressed to the person at the register (The owner) that the beans were not good. She looked at me and said OK. I stopped by here today with my girlfriend in an attempt to get out of the blustery weather. The inside of this place was comforting with lots of earthy colors between the dark brown wood color and blacks. I decided to have an Americano to warm up while my girlfriend went with the jasmine green tea. The tea came in a cute little red teapot for my girlfriend to pour herself and she enjoyed the flavor. My Americano was both smooth and strong which was nice. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again. I loved the comforting atmosphere and warm drinks on a cold day. read more
