I'm a Starbucks aficionado, almost always going to the chain when I want a coffee. I've been grinding their beans every morning for years. I was looking for a Starbucks, couldn't find one, and then Yinz Coffee appeared! For those of you not familiar with the 'yinz' term, it's a Pittsburgh word for 'you all', 'you guys', 'y'all', etc. Ex. "Are yinz going to the Steeler game". It's great they have a coffee shop named after the unique phrase. I ordered a latte and immediately noticed the difference in coffee flavor from Starbucks. It's a delicious refreshing change - so good in fact, that I bought a bag of the House Blend (Columbian beans)! I don't visit my hometown very often, but when I do, I'll be looking for the Yinzer Nation's coffee shop!!

I would not get any beverages from here unless it's sealed. The hours fluctuate often. I have made one too many trips during the weekday, weekend, daytime or afternoon to find the door locked. And I'm not aware that there's communication given ahead of time about their fluctuating hours for the given day. If you need to get your fix from a book, just buy it because there's no guarantee you can read it the next time you plan to.

This place has a very apparent and pointed purpose for existing. Not necessarily to convert everyone into being anarchists, but more so wanting to encourage free, critical thinking. It was uncomfortable enough that I would have left , had my food not just arrived. The owner was around and seemed nice. This would have been a great experience were it not for the waitress being so unprofessional. If she'd apologized all would have been fine. Everyone has bad days or comes on too strong sometimes. The shakshouka was excellent though. I wish that I'd been more able to enjoy it, rather than leave feeling bad about myself.
