I really liked this little coffee shop. It's bright and the barista was welcoming and friendly! Seating available inside and outside. I ordered their drip coffee (courtesy of de Fer beans), egg bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich, and a couple baked goods to go. The breakfast sandwich was great, aside from the fact that the inside was cold. The egg on it was big, square, and fluffy. The bacon was thick and very good! They also have bag lunches with sandwiches to go. The beer fridge had a decent looking selection too. I had to try this vinegar pie after seeing it on the menu and reading reviews. Think of pecan pie without the nuts. Very sweet and slightly tangy almost. The top has a sugary chewy topping. The coffee toffee scone was also very good. Very strong coffee flavor in it and the texture was perfect. Highly recommend this cute little cafe!

It is very cute and vibey in here!! I love the decor and furniture in here. They have a lot of homemade pastries. I got their signature vinegar pie but it really wasn't my thing. They had a lot of other amazing looking pastries though. Definitely need to come back and try more things. Service is pretty quick and staff was nice. They also sell alcohol here too in the fridges. Looks like a nice place to work from.

Was not a fan of the breakfast sandwich but one of my favorite cortados in PGH! I recommend topping it with their homemade marshmallows (oddly delicious).

Very vibey corner coffee shop vibe. Modern disco vibe. Princess cold brew is cold brew with sweetened condensed milk which is sweet but not too sweet, came out in like 5 seconds. Got a seat right away and sound is at like a murmur level and music isn't that loud. I see like 60% of the people here studying and 40% yapping so def can do both. Would be a regular if I lived in the neighborhood, lowk might be the best study coffee in North Oakland area. Came here with an absolute cutie to grind out some work and we had a good time, kept getting distracted by his good looks but worth it.

This spot always has the nicest baristas. House made syrups. Tasty custom crafted drinks. And delicious pastries and snacks. I go out of my way to visit here as often as I can. I have never had a bad experience!

Nice spot with window seating and ample table seating. Plus some outside seating. Prices are comparable to other coffee shops in the area. The espresso in the lattes is slightly bitter, but the chai was a favorite. Small selection of baked goods. Service was very friendly.

With my girlfriend Polina who also likes good eats

Yesterday I stopped in for some breakfast treats. The apple nut muffin sounded good and I bought three. This morning I ate half of one. Wowzers. It was truly delicious as are many many things I buy at sidecar. I'm so grateful to have a bakery and restaurant [Butterjoint] in my neighborhood, keep on baking !!!

After walking around the neighborhood, this one had seating, so we went inside. First, I'll say the coffee we tried was pretty good - a cappuccino and a brown sugar cinnamon latte. The barista asked "for here or to go" and the drinks still came in a paper cup anyway despite us saying "for here". I really enjoy having a coffee in an actual glass/mug when I say "for here". The ambiance was a bit confusing... not really sure what they were going for in the space, things were a bit choppy and thrown together. Kinda felt like you were in someone's garage with cluttered items on rickety shelves behind the counter. Our barista was very nice, but an awkward moment occurred when they were ringing us up - barista asked for a tip but then told us not to put the tip on the credit card because the owner steals from them. We felt this was a little uncomfortable and gave some unwelcoming energy. We also tried a Nutella croissant, which was very good! I think this shop has a lot of potential with some changes to service and decor.

Constellation came highly recommended from a couple very reputable sources but I've now been twice…read moreand very disappointed both times. The first time I ordered an espresso beverage with the light roast option and what I received did not taste anything close to light. Both visits, staff were cold and acted annoyed with the questions I had about their beans/coffee offerings. I would recommend klvn and ghost coffee as superior alternatives. Was really hoping to like this cafe.

Constellation is one of my two favorite cafes in Pittsburgh, along with Espresso a Mano. While I…read morethink Espresso a Mano has the better espresso drinks,* Constellation has fantastic pour over: You won't find a better selection of high-end coffee beans anywhere else in Pittsburgh, and no other cafe in the city comes close. The bean offerings are always excellent, varied, and carefully curated. Selecting among them may feel intimidating, but the baristas are very knowledgeable and helpful. If you don't have much or any experience with pour over coffee, you should make sure to ask them for suggestions, and they will guide you towards a good selection. If you are coffee snob with a rotating selection of extra-light beans on your kitchen counter... well you should still chat with the baristas and they can tell you all about what they offer, what tasting notes to expect, what they are excited about, and so on. I am in the latter category, and I always enjoy chatting with the baristas here and learning about their coffee. I also appreciate that, in the summer, you can choose to have a Japanese-style iced pour over (the one that's brewed hot directly onto ice). You don't find that often in cafes, and certainly nowhere else in Pittsburgh. Besides coffee, the ambiance is great. There is not much traffic, so it's a pretty calm place to sit down and work or read a book. I love sitting at the large table in the back room for a few hours and working from there, while enjoying a cup or two of different pour overs. Overall, we are lucky to have Constellation . While Pittsburgh can't compare with the "third-wave" coffee scene in cities like Seattle or Vancouver, Constellation can certainly compete with the best cafes in such cities. *The espresso here is also great, don't get me wrong, especially when they offer a light roast. But I just like the one at Espresso a Mano better. I do wish Constellation offered an espresso flight; given the variety of beans they offer, that would be a unique coffee-drinking experience.
