It's a nice restaurant with very less vegetarian options. I tried this falafel sandwich which tasted decent 3.5/5 but the service is too slow. Atmosphere is chill and relaxed.

Very yummy spot for brunch in the heart of squirrel hill!! Place is very spacious and the menu has a middle eastern / european flair to it that sets it apart from other brunch spots. Food is delicious! And they had good coffee

Delicious food and attentive service. I came on a Sunday morning. Brought my dog and they allowed us to sit on the outdoor patio. The menu has a bunch of nice sounding items for brunch. Sweet, savory, healthy. The coffee was good but they were lacking in flavoring syrups. Still, very much enjoyed my meal. Inside the restaurant and the bathroom were clean and comfortable as well.

All around nice brunch destination. We ordered takeout, and everything was fairly well packaged (though bringing along some reusable bags for transport was helpful). The salads were well-presented with fresh ingredients and nice pairings of specific dressings for each salad. The various pita-with-toppings combinations are filled with a good blend of ingredients but somewhat awkward to work with: is this intended to be eaten as a wrap or with a knife and fork? Unclear. Neither option seemed optimal. The omelettes are good but seem more like a mini-frittata than an omelette (which is more of an observation than a problem). The shakshuka is an easy win with plenty of spiced tomato sauce and good flavors. I definitely suggest ordering the harissa sauce on the side (for just about everything). In terms of the experience, I didn't spend much time in the restaurant but it's a nice space in a convenient location. My order was ready exactly when it was supposed to be, and the staff were completely on top of the takeout situation. All told, it was a good experience with good food.

We loved the outdoor patio seating area since the weather was nice. It is a much more casual place where you find your own table but the server came by and the food came quick. Each dish was affordable and came with a good amount of food.

SERVICE: I wish to offer transparency that this is not my genre of food. The restaurant offers a European menu, I went with the most Americanized item on the menu for breakfast. Nice vibe inside and outdoor seating is also provided. Server seemed fine, a bit blank in the face, but polite. Upstreet was selected because it appeared clean, reasonably priced and close in walking distance. FOOD: I went with the French toast which was a bit rough. Basic loaf bread. Too sweet. As a breakfast chunky, I could have made that at home and wasn't impressed. My mother on the other hand enjoyed her chicken shawarma bowl. WELL: I don't see myself returning

I was looking for a place to grab brunch after a run and I found this spot. It's very cute and spacious. I got to seat myself as it was not super busy the day I went. I ordered the monte Cristo which had some apricot spread. It was better than I expected and I would order it again. The staff was very friendly throughout my time there.

Very nice place! They predominantly serve breakfast food, but they also have some more substantial meals they offer for lunch, as well as salads and such. Predominantly a Mediterranean and American place. I got to try out their chicken pita. The chicken pita was essentially a chicken shawarma with a pita. The food was super fresh, especially the vegetables. So crisp and light. The sauces they used also added a ton of flavor, with some creaminess, a little sweetness, and overall just adding that extra punch. I especially like the red sauce they use (although I'm not entirely sure what it is). The chicken itself, though, was not as good. It was too fatty and also didn't seem anywhere near as fresh as the vegetables did. The pita they served it with was pretty great and helped mask the slightly below par chicken. All in all, a nice place to get a healthy breakfast or lunch. I would want to come back to try some of the sweet items or the classic breakfast dishes.

Had a nice family lunch here the other day. My 3-year old enjoyed a halloumi sandwich (part of the Cyprus plate) in one of her first restaurant meals. Service was pretty quick which also helped her not become too impatient. I got the salmon omelette which was huge (with salmon on it but not in it; interesting take). The side potatoes are very crispy and delicious. They pay a nice homage to Pamela's which used to occupy this space.

Came back again for family reunion. The meal was so delicious that I forgot to take pictures before I started eating. Their service is lovely. They do play some music inside but it wasn't too loud.

Solid brunch spot in Squirrel Hill. Same owner as Cafe Moulin in Shadyside, so they use a lot of the same ingredients! There are a ton of options on the menu, so there's definitely something for everyone here. I love that the menu is middle eastern / mediterranean inspired so there are options like pita and falafel and labneh. This is the first time I've ever seen halloumi on the menu anywhere in Pittsburgh, so I was so excited when I saw it. The Cyprus comes with grilled halloumi on a croissant bun, with a side omelette and Israeli salad (tomato, cucumber, some seasonings). It's a flavorful and satisfying meal, and the side salad tastes very fresh. I've also ordered the pancakes with strawberries, and their pancakes are honestly really good! They add cinnamon on top which is such a nice touch. Their Shakshuka is also delicious. Honestly not too expensive either for a filling brunch! The interior is decorated like a classic diner, and I love the black and white checkered look of their plates -- it gives it that nice retro vibe. Ambiance is very casual. Service can be pretty hit or miss here; it really depends on the day I think. There can be a bit of a wait on popular brunch days, so just be prepared for that.

Just had farewell breakfast with son, daughter & son-in-law. So wonderfully blessed to have this time together!

Upstreet Diner is a delightful culinary gem in Pittsburgh, nestled in Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill neighborhood, around the corner from both my son and daughter. We all met here for our final breakfast after a week's visit and it was a treat with outstanding food and staff.  They offer a unique and inviting atmosphere, a fusion of American and Turkish cuisine, and an array of mouthwatering dishes. Since its opening in 2021, this cozy establishment has quickly become a local favorite, attracting patrons with its great breakfast, brunch, and lunch options. Upstreet Diner was founded by chef and owner Emre Ozen, whos goal was to create a welcoming eatery that combined his passion for food with his love for the Pittsburgh community. After obtaining degrees in hotel management and culinary arts, Ozen brought his extensive experience to the Steel City, ultimately choosing Squirrel Hill as the perfect location for his first restaurant venture, and he nailed it.  Upon entering Upstreet Diner, we were greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that reflects the restaurant's friendly, neighborhood vibe. The space has cozy seating arrangements, natural light streaming in through large windows, and tasteful decor. Indeed their menu is a testament to Chef Ozen's diverse culinary background, offering a delightful fusion of American and Turkish flavors serving breakfast, brunch, and lunch seven days a week.  While every dish we had was a delight, some standout items, according to others, have become fast favorites: * Deluxe-shuka: Two eggs, cevapi, and potato in house-made tomato sauce, topped with sheep feta, green onions, and harissa, served with a side of toast. * Avocado Toast: A flavorful combination of avocado, pickled red onions, and feta cheese atop toasted sourdough bread. * Salmon Omelette: A delicate and satisfying omelette filled with smoked salmon, spinach, and cream cheese, served with a side salad. On our visit my daughter really enjoyed the Ben-eddict-ive with eight layers of thin dough cheese pastry topped with mortadella overeasy egg, and hollandaise aioli, side of Israeli salad. My son-in-law thought the Deluxe-shuka with two eggs, cevapi, and potato in house-madetomato sauce, topped with sheep feta, green onions, and harissa side of toast. My honey very much enjoyed the Spanish feta omelette with baby spinach, sun-dried tomato, and sheep feta omelet, topped with horseradish & chive cheddar cheese, she remarked on how light and fresh it was. My son and I had the simple Scramble which is scrambled eggs, green onion,  side of Sujuk which is a mildly spicy breakfast sausage that's%100 beef, and amazing, with  homefries and toast. It was tasty and fresh but the was the star!  Bottom line: This place is very trendy, clean, and comfortable with a very attentive and delightful staff that serve up some 5 star fresh food at a reasonable price that is a great spot in Squirrel Hill. Highly recommend!!!!  Upstreet Diner is open seven days a week:  Monday - Sunday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Visit their website at www.upstreetdiner.com for more information, or connect with them on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/upstreetdiner.

It was a typical retro-vintage stop inside, and I was forewarned by the veteran waitress they were open only for the next half-hour. I reassured her I was not planning to stay long. It must've been the end of a long shift for her because she was grumbling to the busboy about the other waitress who decided to leave early. This other woman, clearly the 'Kiss Mah Grits' type, alienated me by calling me Mr. Miyagi and cackling about it to the rest of the staff. I thought I might be expected to recite lines from "The Karate Kid". Instead I ordered the $11.25 Grilled Meatloaf Melt, which came with quite a slice covered in fried onions and melted Swiss cheese barely held together by the toasted rye bread. It was on the greasy side, and the fries were dried out (Photo 10). What would Mr. Miyagi say?
