Smashed Waffle is a small restaurant chain that serves..you guessed it...waffles! The waffles are small in size and come in several flavors such as bacon/egg/cheddar, chicken/honey, honey/cinnamon, chocolate chips, and many others. The menu also includes hash browns, coffees, lattes, sodas, juices, milks, etcetera. So far, I have been a customer at the location in Pittsburgh a couple of times. I used a kiosk to order several waffles, one hash brown, bottled water, and a latte. All employees promptly and courteously served me, and I appreciated the several tables and chars for dining in. The O.G. waffle was topped with honey and cinnamon-cream sauce (5 stars). The Cereal Thriller waffle was topped with Fruity Pebbles and vanilla-cream sauce (4 stars). The Pitt Waffle had blue and yellow sprinkles (4.5 stars). I also ate the John Lemon waffle (4.5 stars), the seasonal Lemon-Blueberry Waffle (4.5 stars), and the Smashed Browns hash browns (4.5 stars). The Full Moon Latte contained white and dark chocolates, and I rate it as 4.5 stars.

I wasn't a fan of the coffee, but the waffles were really good. If you're craving something sweet, it's definitely worth stopping by for those alone.

Delicious and quick, the perfect breakfast! I really enjoyed everything about The Smashed Waffle Company. We got coffees, breakfast sandwiches, and a few different waffles to try. I love a sweet and savory option for my meal and the iced coffee was a cherry on top. Everything we got was absolutely delicious! We ordered the John Lemon, Swirly Sin, and Cereal Thriller for our sweet waffles and the Chatty Patty for our sandwiches. Really cute space with the vibrant yellow all over and very modern. Very kind staff and they were super quick! We came on Monday morning and it was fairly busy but we didn't wait long. It's a smaller space but they have chairs and tables to sit for a few. The pizza box style to go box was really cool and practical! We were visiting from out of town, but I would definitely come back when we are in town again and would recommend everyone to stop in and try it out!

The waffles and service were great. Everything came out fast. My favorites were the John Lemon and the waffle of the month, strawberry pretzel salad. There is milk for kids, a bathroom, seats to eat in and street parking. We tried their sweet and hot sandwich and tater tots and they were delicious too! You can order on the app and get it to go as well.

I love the waffle creations and coffee/latte choices they have. They introduce new flavors and fun things added each month. The staff are very friendly and the location is super convenient and close to the Pitt campus, Point Park campus, and multiple hospitals in the Oakland neighborhood. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend Smashed Waffles!

Great spot for a quick breakfast in Oakland! I tried the Quilted Pig sweet waffle with maple sauce and bacon crumbles. The texture of the waffle was spot on and the sauce was the perfect sweetness. I also had the Hazy latte that has nutella and hazelnut - so good! The service was quick and friendly. There are a few seats but I saw more people taking their items to go. Would definitely return!

Insanely delicious waffles and waffle sandwiches!  Artisan waffles that are made daily from scratch.  Located on Forbes Ave in the heart of Oakland.  Small but so tasty and comes in several flavor options, I tried the Swanson, which is a waffle sandwich, with bacon, cheddar & Swiss between two waffles and a side of syrup! So good!  They also have coffees, lattes and more! Tried the Honey Bun latte which totally hit the spot, honey, cinnamon cream and brown sugar butter! Super friendly staff and a warm welcoming spot- love their logo! Can't wait to try more of their menu!!!

Aesthetic little waffle place in Oakland! They have so many creative smashed waffle options, both savory and sweet. The waffles are basically belgian waffle style and they load on a bunch of toppings. They also serve drinks/coffee. The interior is really brightly decorated and colorful, and they have a fair amount of seating inside. Although if it's a popular day and there are big groups dining in, it can be hard to find a spot, and the tables won't be the cleanest since so many people come and go. The vibe is super casual, not really a sit down brunch place. More like a cafe. I got the fall seasonal special which was topped with pumpkin and crushed graham crackers. It was very sweet -- definitely satisfied my sugar craving! Service is quick and efficient and all the workers are really friendly. The waffles are a little pricey but they're really filling bc they're loaded with toppings :)

Tried this place for the first time after a run and it def was a sugar rush that i gladly needed ! We ordered the cinnamon waffle and the chocolate chip, which were more of their classic flavors as you can't always go wrong with cinnamon and chocolate. I was afraid the toppings were going to be overwhelming on the waffle, but i think the ratio was just right. Waffle was warm and fresh, and our drinks paired with them. it is in a very busy area of Oakland, so the place may get packed. overall, this was definitely a cute lil shop to grab a snack and some coffee!

Pittsburgh has a variety of food spots in walking distance from Carlow University, Pitt, and Carnegie Mellon. Your kids will not go hungry. There is something for everyone. My son took me to Smashed Waffles. I will definitely be going back. You can park on the street. We went on Sunday and the parking was free. When you walk in, there is a menu between 2 tablets where you can place your order. You can also order at the counter. I ordered the Swisskey sandwich along with the Trouble maker Latte with no cinnamon sauce. Not big on cinnamon. The Swisskey comes with turkey sausage, egg, and cheese between 2 small waffles. My son got 2 Chatty Patty's sandwiches. Same as mine but with pork sausage. We also got 3 sweet waffles, Chip chip Hooray of course. Trouble maker Latte is a must try. Definitely order again. I removed the cinnamon sauce and added whip cream. My Swisskey was delicious. My son, of course, enjoyed his food. I left full but not stuffEd. The staff was so friendly and engaging. The place was nice and clean. Simple but eye pleasing decor and color scheme. I'll be back to smash more waffles!!

Easy ordering process, mobile app, friendly great staff, and a nice breakfast menu for those who like waffles eggs and sausage at 2pm like a weirdo (hey that's me... guilty as charged). I don't always get to Oakland and PITT area, but when I do, it's a nice quick stop if you feel waffley ....

They had such an amazing energy when walking in! The staff was absolutely amazing explaining what is popular and their personal favorites! It was our first time and I will most definitely be back after the amazing staff and amazing food!!

Toppings include whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, Nutella, Speculoos, Belgian chocolate, caramel, dark chocolate shell, and the business's small-batch flavors of ice creams. During my recent visit, an employee promptly and politely served me. I ordered one Ghent waffle for $6.31 plus tax and tip. The employee made the waffle fresh in a reasonable time. Some indoor tables and chairs were available, so I sat down to eat. My Ghent waffle was nicely chewy and was topped with delicious Speculoos/Biscoff shortbread spread and slices of bananas.
