I've been to Geppetto twice now. First of all, this place is cute. They took an old timey kind of run down Pittsburgh building and made it look like it should be that way, with books and Pinocchios all over the place. It's small and homey and playful and inviting. We had both savory crepes and sweet crepes here and they were all good. For savories, we had the Bonjour and the Love Hate Thing. I liked the Love Hate Thing better. The maple syrup on the Bonjour didn't do anything for me. There was just a lot going on. The sweet crepes were delicious; both the Banoffee and the Cookie Monster were tasty, but Cookie Monster wins--the crunchy bits on there were clutch. The crepes themselves have a really nice texture and flavor, not gummy or tough, and they complimented both the sweet and savory fillings nicely. Next time I go I'm going to try a waffle or French toast, as all the plates around me looked great and I think sweet might be my way to go here. Coffee is Lavazza, espresso is LaPrima.
I have been coming here since they opened in 2016. It instantly became my favorite place. It's a Lawrenceville staple now. When people ask me what my favorite restaurant is I say "well it's actually a brunch place, but Geppetto Cafe! Trust me!" Great atmosphere, food, and people. There are few places I'm a regular, and this is one of them. Their iced black coffee is my all-time favorite too. We just had our engagement party here, and they were so flexible and accommodating. It was really special, and many of our guests said "you WOULD have your engagement party at Geppetto". They loved it. Everyone thought it was super cute and that the crepes were delicious. Highest recommendation for brunch, coffee, or a special occasion!
Such a cute place for breakfast or lunch. We got lucky and didn't have to wait at all. All the employees are very friendly and attentive. We each got a savory item (the caprese panini and a savory crepe) and then got the Geppetto Signature crepe to split as "dessert." It was the perfect amount of food. The Geppetto Signature crepe was delicious, with excellent caramel sauce. The interior is also decorated beautifully. Books hanging from the ceiling, nods to Pinocchio throughout, and overall very charming. Because it is cozy inside, if you have a large group you may be split across multiple tables.
Great experience with third-party delivery from Geppetto! The food arrived fresh and still pretty warm (out of their control anyways). I love the Nutella French toast! The bacon was cooked perfectly. My mom enjoyed her Monte Cristo sandwich too. Would definitely recommend!
What a sweet little spot that we just happened to pass by and stop on a whim. Once we sat, I realized that a coworker of mine had raved about his place. Personally, I love the intimate vibe, attentive service, and great food! I appreciate a good selection, particular for folks like me who don't eat meat. The other meat eaters in my group enjoyed their meals as well. It seems to have a family-owned feel and that's something that feels rare and special nowadays. I highly recommend!

While in town for Picklesburgh, we decided to walk to Geppetto Café one morning from our Airbnb before starting the day--and we're so glad we did! The atmosphere is charming and whimsical, with tiny Pinocchios tucked into the cracks of the brickwork, adding a magical touch to the space. We all ordered a mix of coffees, teas, crêpes, and paninis, and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot-on, and the food was clearly made with care. The only downside -- if you mispronounce something while ordering, you might get a look from the waitress. It was a little off-putting, but thankfully, it didn't overshadow the experience too much. Overall, this café is a delightful spot with great food and a unique vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

The owner is truly the sweetest human, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I've tried so many menu items and have been blown away by every single one. For savory options: The Bonjour savory crêpe is a perfect sweet-and-savory combo with two scrambled eggs and brie cheese wrapped in a crêpe, topped with applewood smoked bacon and maple syrup, and served with fresh fruit. The Sunny Side savory crêpe features two sunny-side-up eggs with turkey bacon, avocado, and grande mozzarella, served with a fresh side salad. The Croque Madame French toast is a total showstopper--sunny-side-up egg, Canadian ham, Gruyère cheese, and béchamel sauce layered on French toast. OMG, wow. The Prosciutto egg & cheese panini is packed with flavor: Italian prosciutto, a fried egg, honey aioli, and grande mozzarella. Say less. For sweets: The Raspberry Goat Cheese French Toast was a standout--French toast topped with raspberry compote and goat cheese, with whipped cream on the side. So dreamy. The Nutella Classic is a true classic: a homemade crêpe filled with Nutella and topped with fresh strawberries and bananas. The Dubai crêpe is decadent and unique--pistachio spread, kataifi, Nutella, and pistachio crumbles. So rich and satisfying. My favorite sweet might've been Le Pistache--made with pistachio spread, banana, and pistachio crumbles. Absolutely divine. And last but definitely not least, the Merry Berry waffle--a homemade waffle topped with seasonal fresh berries and Nutella. Pure happiness on a plate. Pair any of these with their house coffee, mocha, chai latte, or their brand-new pistachio latte. I also had a strawberry milkshake that totally hit the spot. If you're looking for incredible food, a unique and cozy atmosphere, and the kindest people running the place--this café is everything. Can't recommend it enough!

I ordered the sunny side crepe which was super fresh, filling, and balanced. The eggs needed some seasoning and I would've liked a bit more avocado but otherwise this was very yummy and satisfying. The crepe alone was fantastic! We also shared the Dubai crepe which genuinely left us speechless. It was so rich and full of amazing textures; adding on strawberries and their fresh whipped cream took it to the next level. The service was great, highly recommend trying! Especially the Dubai crepe, it was such a treat.

We both got crepes, I think she got one of the veggie crepes (I don't remember which; I didn't try it) and I did a build your own with brie cheese, caramelized onions and caramelized apples, spicy sauce, and walnuts. I felt like I might be taking a risk trying to do a sweet-savoury thing but it came out pretty tasty. The base crepe was well-made and I liked the dressing on the side salad. I also got a nice lavender tea. My mom enjoyed her crepe too. The decoration is very fun, I thought the books hanging from the ceiling were cool and the art on the walls was fun (some of the pieces were for sale). The staff was welcoming and the service was pretty quick.
From the moment you walk through the doors you notice the décor. Books hanging from the ceiling and Geppetto puppets hanging on the walls. The menu offers a delicious mix of savory and sweet options. There are plenty of French toast choices, creative crêpes, paninis, and a few classic breakfast favorites. They also have an excellent selection of loose-leaf teas. My brother ordered an Americano coffee - it was so good he had two cups (additional fee). The service was top notch. Also the wait staff shares all tips. Although this was my first visit - the restaurant is celebrating its 10th anniversary. They also have a second location in Bloomfield. read more
Nice, quick food with a cutely decorated cafe and a nice ambiance! Service was quick and we got in even on a busy day with barely any wait, love the decor here with so many knickknacks and the books hanging from the ceiling too! They gave a lot of options, but the crepes are definitely what they are know for. The Sunny Side was a great sweet and savory crepe, with fruit, crispy bacon, eggs and cheese with the crepe, definitely would recommend and make sure to ask for hot sauce as they make their own. Only problem was that some other plates with salads had spotty and not so fresh greens. Overall, nice place for a quick crepe and would recommend for their fun crepes! read more

Geppetto Cafe is such a hidden gem in Pittsburgh. The café has this cozy, whimsical atmosphere that makes it feel completely different from your typical brunch spot, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming the entire time. Their crepe selection is honestly one of the best parts of the menu, with so many unique options to choose from, but the House of Crepe was definitely the standout!! It was packed with flavor, perfectly balanced, and tasted just as good as it looked. If you're looking for something sweet to balance the savory, the mixed berry crepe is delicious! Geppetto is a classic cafe for brunch in Pittsburgh. The cafe has a Pinocchio theme, with lots of interesting decor. Menu offers a variety if crepe and French toast options, with my favorite being Croque Madame French Toast Sandwich and La Pistache. Nothing that left an outstanding impression, but nothing bad either. It does feel like the menu items all taste the same, so it just depends on what you are craving for. Service is fast and friendly, and I especially like how it doesn't get too busy so that it's more of a chill and casual brunch experience. read more

The crepes were sweet and light, not greasy, with a delicious sweet and salty taste. The place had a lovely storefront, and even newcomers in Pittsburgh loved it. I highly recommend it to everyone. In the photos, you'll see the Bonjour Crepe and the Chicken and Gruyere Cheese Crepe. Both were tasty, but my favorite was the second one with its sweet and salty flavor. read more

Really aesthetic little brunch spot in Lawrenceville! They have such a wide variety of items on the menu. Their plating is so pretty and very Instagrammable. Lots of sweet options if you're a dessert for breakfast type person, but also lots of savory options too! They serve all the typical brunch things you'd want -- crepes, french toast, etc. There will probably be a long wait since it's a popular brunch place, but from what I can remember the line moves fairly fast. Once you're inside, the service is quick and efficient. It doesn't take too long to get your food. The interior decor is really cute and quirky, and they also have a nice back patio with some outdoor seating, which is really nice in the warmer months. Would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area! read more

This is just a fun place to have breakfast. The staff is friendly. The menu is big and varied. Everything is fresh. I had a sweet crepe, the La Pistache (Pistachio). Incredible. So good. I'd like to return for a savory crepe. I love this place! Just go. read more
We had a very good meal at Geppetto Cafe. The food was great, the place has a super cute ambiance, and wonderful people. They were pretty busy on a Sunday but seated our party of 4 right away. Everyone in the group enjoyed their food. You can order from the menu or build your own crepes or waffles. They have a large selection of both sweet and savory options. Plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. They offer hot or cold coffee, many flavors of tea, and they even serve milk shakes. No negatives here, really enjoyed everything! read more

The food was good. I went with a friend and we both ordered panini's so my review is pretty limited. The panini wasn't the best I've ever had but it was good. Chai latte however and the service were both great. Ambiance is very cutesyyy! read more

Got a chance to make it to Geppetto's after seeing it on tik tok and it did not disappoint. The crepe was delicious and the fruit tasted fresh. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes here. read more
I've enjoyed visiting this small cafe numerous times over the years. I typically order crepes, and if I'm especially hungry, I'll get both a savory and a sweet crepe. They do get quite busy on weekends around brunch, but they have a good system for requesting a table when you walk in and they will send you a text when ready. For my wife and I, we never wait more than 10-15 minutes. On my last visit, I ordered the bonjour crepe which is loaded with savory goodies and quite delicious. I have a major sweet tooth, so I was happy to finish off the meal with one of their Nutella classic crepes. I am huge Nutella fan and this thing is loaded with it, along with some fresh fruit and whipped crème. The decor is kind of rustic, but it has a charming effect. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. Good usually takes around 10-15 minutes or so to come out after ordering. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for great crepes in the Lawrenceville area. read more
If you have a sweet tooth this is the BEST place for breakfast, lunch or brunch. While visiting town I found this hidden gem and stooped by for lunch. All the ladies were really welcoming and nice. It wasn't busy so service was great and fast and I had great luck and got a street parking spot right out front. I had their AMAZING & DELICIOUS "Nutella classic" crepes with banana and strawberries with Nutella on top and I also ordered a side of scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. Excellent place to grab breakfast in Lawrenceville. Went with a friend on a Sunday at 11am -- prime brunch hours -- and we were seated immediately. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, but we sat inside and enjoyed the decor. Polka dot table clothes, colorful tableware, local art on the walls, books hanging from the ceiling -- it was like having breakfast in Zooey Deschanel's daydream. A server took our orders quickly, and several stopped by to keep our coffee cups full throughout our meal. My friend ordered the Bonjour, and I went with the Italian Job -- a crepe roughly based off a caprese salad, with lightly dressed salad on the side. I've never had such delicious breakfast from a restaurant that didn't make me feel like I gained 10 pounds over the course of the meal. Balanced, filling, tasty. I left very satisfied. Great experience. Overall, I'd highly recommend! It is a French cafe-style breakfast and brunch restaurant, so take a peek at the menu before you visit if you're craving something in particular -- a couple reviews down, a Yelper seems absolutely scandalized that they didn't find hash browns on the menu lol read more
Lots of hype about this one so couldn't wait to try it out. Overall I'd say it was ok. Adorable place, with lots of fun pictures on the walls. I had the Gone Fishin' crepe and hubby had the Sunny Side. Mine came with dressed greens. Fair warning, it tasted like a salty mustard vinegarette, which I wasn't a fan of. Fruit accompaniments were ok (very cold, felt frozen then thawed). Not much flavor to them. Fruit smoothy was very watery and sweet. My crepe was quite good, hubby's was fine but warn that it is a mozzarella filled crepe with a fried egg on top. Service was friendly and attentive, earning the overall 4th star. read more
