Highly recommend!!! We sat at the bar and it was fantastic. Friendly awesome service, food was great and tried a specialty shot that was crafted to taste like a loaded baked potato. It was interesting but fun to try. The historic building it is in is gorgeous. Staff was super nice and engaging and really made the experience fun. Definitely go if you are looking for g for breakfast.

This place was the first place me and my partner stopped at for brunch, while visiting Pittsburg for the first time ever. The food here was so good and felt very home cooked. It's really hard to find that nowadays. The staff were also extremely friendly, welcoming and interpersonal. The watermelon drink was so refreshing, I finished it within 2 minutes haha. I think the french toast was best i've had in a while and it was a good entree to balance with the side of sausage I ordered which has more of a maple syrup sweetness to it. The restaurant is located inside of a building alongside other restaurants. It's super cool inside, as I included the ceiling after one of the staff asked if I, "looked up yet?" Ready to come back next time we stop by the city! :)

Overall, not a bad place. A pretty small dining area located in a large billing which I'm currently not remembering the name of. The host was very nice and sat us down and offered suggestions for places to visit and how to get there in the Pittsburgh area, so that was very much appreciated. Our waitress was pretty decent, but I wish she would've came by more often because I really wanted to catch up which I never ended up getting before I finish my order. The mail that I got was a little dry to the taste with all the potatoes and I needed some Hines but it happens. Overall, a decent place just needs more attentive, weight staff, and a little larger seating area.

What a lovely little breakfast spot in a stunning building. The food was great and service spot on. The ambience even better. I highly recommend it for a great breakfast while you're in downtown Pittsburgh.

This place is inside a building with multiple other businesses. It's kind of weird because it's inside its own area, but also pours into the lobby. If you are sitting outside of the restaurant, there are people coming and going through the lobby. Kind of interesting. The staff was extremely friendly, and the food came out quickly. Everything was pretty tasty and reasonably priced.

This was my first time going to The Speckled Egg. It's right in downtown Pittsburgh and the moment you walk in it's super cute. It's small but cozy and honestly feels like the perfect brunch spot after a night out or if you're just meeting up with friends to gossip over breakfast. We made reservations which I definitely recommend. I ordered the I Am Kazzam and I'm gonna be real... it was not for me. I love trying new things and convincing myself I'll like them, but my taste buds were like girl please. Meanwhile my boyfriend had the patty melt and it was amazing. I took one bite and immediately regretted my entire existence because that should have been my order. We also got the Aloha Pudding because the ingredients gave beach vibes. And let me tell you that thing was so good I almost got emotional. I'm kidding... but only a little. I could eat that all day. The chia seeds with the fruit and granola were such a perfect match. They really put their foot in that one. I'm definitely going back because this place seems awesome and I just know I need a second chance to order something I actually like as my main dish.

Came here for happy hour. The That's My Jam cocktail was delicious! Not too sweet and a great deal for happy hour. Just as a warning, the drink was pretty strong. The pimento cheese and pickles were pretty good too, but a little misleading as it came with pickled onions, cauliflower, and beans, along with the advertised pickles and crackers. It was pretty good, but I would've preferred more crackers and pickles to the other pickled vegetables. Overall a great experience and would love to come back and try the brunch food. It's also conveniently located around many offices, so it's perfect for that post-work happy hour!

I had a very nice experience at The Speckled Egg in Philadelphia. It's a small, cozy spot located on the main floor of the Union Trust Building, right in a busy part of town. I walked here, so I can't speak to the parking situation. The food was simple, organic, and very tasty -- fresh flavors with a clean presentation. It's definitely a place I'd recommend to anyone staying or working nearby and looking for a good local breakfast or brunch. That said, it's not necessarily somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit again -- not because it wasn't good, but because once was good enough for me. Overall, a solid spot for a local or someone passing through the area.

I've been to the southside location but I think I like the ambiance of this one more. I got the special, country fried steak, which I've only ever gotten from IHOP before. This one was fancier with the chimichurri and cheddar grits but the steak itself was very chewy. My friend got the avocado toast with lox and said the lox tasted particularly good here.

We made reservations for three for brunch on a Saturday at 1pm and good thing we did because I heard the staff quote people a wait time of about 30 minutes. It's located inside the Union Trust Building and there's seating "outside" in the main halfway of the building, inside, and at a small bar. My Tea with the Bees cocktail was sweet but excellent and tea forward. Our food was also pretty good and I have no complaints there. They did give us one check for the three of us as an FYI which wasn't a big deal since we all had Venmo.

You have to love the ambiance of this Speckled Egg location especially if you get seated outside in view of the beautiful decor. At this location, they've previously made us wait when one person in our party was late. However, this time they did seat me while my friend ran late. I've hunted down the Shakshukas all over Pittsburgh; the one here regrettably now falls at the bottom. The "I am Kazam" had a serious issue with spice levels. I could tell the issue: someone put in too much cumin either on its own or as part of a curry powder blend. It came out with with too much latent low heat aftertaste. Kinda ruined the dish :-( Would be really hesitant in ever ordering it again. My friend had a simpler omelet, which had no issues. They were out of the juice I wanted. Friendly server but had trouble getting coffee refills. This visit was not as successful as my previous visits.

We dropped in to the Speckled Egg for breakfast as it was conveniently located across the street from our hotel. It sites in the lobby of a lovely old Pittsburgh bank building and it looked like it was going to be a good place for us to get a quick bite. The staff were young and attentive. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't that great. My wife ordered the biscuits and gravy, which she described as tasting like pot roast and gravy, not what she expected for a breakfast meal. The bagel I ordered wasn't very good either, just lackluster and flavorless. When we asked our server to split the bill with our friends, the items we ordered were mixed up and my "half" of the bill was over $50, very pricy for a mediocre breakfast.

Cute place and busy! The food was great, the service was also. The coffee could have been better however the fresh Turmeric shot made up for it. The building where it's located is stunning.

When we walked in, the host greeted us right away, asked for our name, and seated us pretty quickly. There were actually a good amount of open seats, so I am not sure reservations were completely necessary, but it was still nice to have one. I honestly expected the inside to feel more extravagant and space themed, almost like an outer space vibe with more visual elements and atmosphere. I was hoping for something more immersive and futuristic. It was still cool overall, just not quite as visually dramatic as I imagined. We ordered an espresso martini and the Kiwi Nova. I really enjoyed my drink, especially after talking with the host who explained that they use scientific processes for their cocktails along with fresh purées and fresh ingredients. That is something I really appreciate because I am not a fan of drinks made with a lot of simple syrup or fake additives. He loved his espresso martini and said it was one of the best he has had. My drink was definitely on the sweeter side and I feel like too much of it might lead to a hangover, but it was still really good. Our server was attentive at first, but later on we ended up waiting a while to order another round. After sitting for a bit, we decided to order through the hostess instead and she got us taken care of right away. Overall, it was a cool experience mainly for the drinks. The cocktails were definitely the highlight. Service was okay, and I am not sure if we will return, but I am glad we finally got to check it out.

I've heard so many mixed things that I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed every aspect of my experience. It kind of has dive bar vibes but the food and drink options are definitely on the elevated side. They open at 4 on Sundays and I got there around 4:15. It was already pretty busy (and by the time I was leaving, every single table and bar stool were occupied). They have standard booth seats along the windows, hightop tables in the middle and bar seating along the bar that curves along the back of the restaurant. I chose to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I was promptly greeted by the bartender. They don't hand you copies of the menu, you have to scan the QR code to access. It is easy to read and follow with sections for drinks, specials (this time they were Wicked themed as a nod to the show at the Benedum) and a sushi section. I ordered the street corn dip. The chips were a bit overcooked and the dip was just OK. I thought it was pricey for what you got. The star of my meal, though, was the patty melt. It had the burger, a bacon jam, caramelized onions and was absolutely delicious! It was served with fries. I considered ordering sushi but wasn't sure what to expect. The patrons sitting on either side of my ordered rolls and they were a nice size and looked delicious, so that is something I would consider ordering in the future. It was a place I'll likely be back to because of the proximity to the theater (although their prices definitely reflect that). Just note how crowded it always is and give yourself plenty of time if you plan on heading here for dinner before the show.
