Waffle of the day: blueberry crumble I believe it was called
    Elliot G.

Quaint hole in the wall, family owned diner with lots of funny signs and decor everywhere. We went twice on our trip because we liked it so much the first time. The Yinzer scrambler and the bluberry crumble waffle were my personal favorites but it was all delicious! I believe the owner was waiting and they were very nice and answered all of our questions about the menu. They even cooked up a pierogie for us to try before ordering since we had never had them and didn't know what they were like. Will definitely be back when in Pittsburgh again.

The kindest people working here! I had such a nice brunch and enjoyed every minute. The decor made me laugh a lot, and the menu also had some personality ‍ The maple cream and bacon waffle was the perfect blend of salty and sweet. The veggie scramble was huge and overflowing with feta. So fresh and tasty! Good food and even better company. Highly recommend.

Went up Duquesne Incline, great view but no real town. Drove to Eggs & Moore where the Monongahela incline is - so got to check out both. Restaurant cozy, friendly ambiance. Shared the waffles with hubs and some cheese grits. Both were good - waffles airy (not dense), grits perfectly creamy. Coffee hit the spot with free refills. Portions were generous, good prices - a hidden gem.

Mt. Washington is all fun and games... until the next morning when you need a recovery mission. Enter Eggs & More. Even on an early weekday, the place had a solid crowd -- which I took as a good sign that people trust it with their fragile, post-fun-time mornings. I went with the Sausage Gravy & Biscuits and, let me tell you, it hit like a warm Southern hug. Service was quick, the place was spotless, and my food showed up before I could even regret my life choices from the night before. I also spotted a BLT with Tomato Jam on their board (Specials) -- intriguing enough that I've already made a mental note: if it's still there next time, I'm ordering it. Pro tip: it's cash only. So bring some bills or risk doing the walk of shame... not from the bar, but to the ATM. Great spot for good food, fast service, and a little morning redemption.

I brought my youngest brother and his wife for breakfast on a summer Sunday morning after riding the incline up from Station Square. We were afraid there would be a wait, but we found a table as soon as we walked in, were served immediately, and got our food quickly. The coffee is good and limitless. I had a glass of orange juice. They went savory with various combinations of eggs and meat; the home fries were just okay, but toast is still superfluous. I went sweet with the daily special of a peach waffle (turkey sausage on the side). Everyone left satisfied. Also, the staff were friendy, and the decor was entertaining!

    Sums it up pretty well

2.5 stars. I don't understand the fuss about this place. As far as diner breakfast goes, it's mid. First, nothing irritates me more about a restaurant than a cash only sign. IT'S 2025: NO ONE FREAKING CARRIES CASH. And I'm old. I still dont carry cash. I almost left when I saw the sign. But because an ATM was right at the end of the block we went in. The place is cramped. I knew that; we used to come here when it was Micro Diner (which we liked a lot). The decor is Americana-wooden-sign trash - a mix of "eff you" meets Jesus core. I came for breakfast, I don't need religious inspiration and I don't need to be told in writing that they have contempt for customers. The humor isn't cute; it's stupid. It was frigidly cold in there. A small, no frills breakfast sandwich served with nothing else is $10+. They use the ethnic slur "dego" on the menu. I almost never leave a negative review (you can verify this) because I feel like every restaurant has a bad day from time to time, but idk, this place just left a bad taste that barely had to do with the food.

$7.99 2 eggs, toast and choice of meat. Just what I needed!

Looking for a cheap breakfast we turned to Yelp. We wanted to come up to mount Washington so Eggs and more fit the bill. Quick service, good food at a reasonable price. We like reading the signs hung in the room, very clean here! Thank you eggs and more.

The best French toast I have ever had.

This place is at the top of the mountain. Nice little mom and pop joint. Cash only! Great value. I think the French toast was the best I have ever had. Will visit again in a heartbeat. Keep up the great customer service.

    Cinnamon Roll Pancake

This has quickly become one of our favorite weekend breakfast spots. Everything we've had is delicious, but the cinnamon roll pancake is amazing. We typically each get some kind of eggs for breakfast and then share a cinnamon roll pancake. They can get pretty busy on the weekends. If the tables are full you can usually find a spot at the counter. Also, they are cash only. But, there is a PNC ATM right across the street.

Best service, best breakfast, best coffee, best Italian toast I ever had in a restaurant. Although we don't live here in Pittsburgh or visit much I will make it a certain place to come when we return. Great!

FYI- cash only (there is an ATM in the back)! Super cute spot! We were looking for a place to eat before heading back home (VA and IL) after attending a concert the night before with friends (Kesha!). We picked this place based on reviews and the ability to sit and eat. There is a parking lot directly across the street, which is nice! There is limited space/seating in the restaurant, so there is usually a little wait for a table...But there is a bakery next door that we got a pre-breakfast snack at. Our party of 4 was probably in and out in a little over an hour despite the wait and busy time. We loved all the decor and funny signs/menu. We loved the family dynamics and staff was great. Food was good and we all left stuffed. We each had meals with multiple sides and drinks and it was $80 for all. 9/10 overall for sure!

The Speckled Egg provided the upscale and elevated breakfast, that was a nice contrast to the rustic and local breakfast we had the next day. Our waitress was friendly and professional. After some deliberation, I went with a bowl that included eggs, chicken sausage, sweet potatoes and a nice garnish of dill. The dill surprisingly elevated the whole dish. My wife enjoyed an omelette. Coffee was also quite good! Nice start to a day of sightseeing! (The restaurant staff gave great advice about the nearby tourist attractions)

He was courteous, well spoken and friendly. We sat there for about 10-12 minutes. No one approached the table. We looked over to what appeared to be a bar area and we saw two servers standing there talking and showing each other their phones. My wife said, "With our luck, one of those two is our server." Sure enough, when they were finally done talking, one came over to our table....no smile and a big audible sigh. She asked what we wanted to drink, we gave our order and she returned with our beverages. After another 10 minute wait she came back to take our order. When asked about a certain dish, came another big sigh, eye roll and and a rote description of said dish. The food arrived and one of the orders was wrong. Another wait to get her attention. We asked for the item to be redone as we had ordered it. And she even asked how we wanted it! You got it...another eye roll and a big sigh. At least she was well oxygenated! The dish came back with the very same results. On that issue we gave up. Then came the wait for the check. Once again the two servers were chatting, no heads turned to check on their tables. My son went over to get the check. When the check arrived, it was attitude city. She accused us of picking on her because she was only a server. It's obviously how she saw herself. We then asked for the manager who was quick to side with the server. She said that nothing seemed to satisfy us and that we had a problem. IN SHARP CONTRAST. I have been to the Speckled Egg on the South Side many times. From the Host/Hostess to the servers to the bus staff, everyone had a smile, chatted with their customers, laughed and it was always a great experience. The manager came over since he recognized me from being there many times and we chatted for a minute. We are talking Night and Day. Completely two different experiences from server to management styles. To me there is only one Speckled Egg and one complete waste of time (Downtown).

The cool vibe restaurant is tucked away up a short flight of stairs on Filbert Street. It gives the place a cozy, hideaway feel with brick walls and murals. It's pretty popular, so you might have to wait a few minutes for a table, but it moves pretty quick. The menu focuses heavily on crepes and French toast, and they do both very well. I went for a savory crepe that was loaded with eggs and topped with a rich sauce and diced vegetables. It came with a side of fresh fruit which was a nice touch. We also ordered a sweet crepe to share. It was beautifully presented with chocolate drizzle, berry sauce, and a massive pile of whipped cream. The coffee is solid too. But the star of the show for me is the Shakshouka. I have gotten it the last 2 times I went. You also have to try their Dirty Chai. My only critique is the hostess at the front. She appeared overwhelmed by her role and was not warm. We were actually told by the waiters that "she is serious about her list". Which would be great if she managed it effectively. When I brought concerns that we had been pushed down the list 3 times for other parties. She responded "well, how do you know that" to which I responded "we watched you take their names down after ours and sit them before us". Her response was to shoo me off and tell me to go find a table myself; to which I did. But what a poor way to manage your stress, responsibility, and consumers. On the bright side my waiter/waitress was awesome per usual.
