I have had a few friends recently describe this spot as a hidden gem and now that I have visited I fully agree. I frequently go to places on the same block and somehow never realized this was here. It is a charming little family diner, with one sister serving and another cooking when we were here today. Truly the definition of a family run business. My friend had a classic breakfast with eggs, potatoes and toast, while I was very interested in the vegetable grilled cheese sandwich that was piled with vegetables in addition to the cheese. You just don't see that every day. They mentioned they had ordered more hoagie buns than they needed so in addition to the specials, which included a pistachio fluff homemade waffle that definitely had my attention, you were free to dream up any hoagie combination you like. So I asked for the vegetable grilled cheese on a hoagie bun and it was incredibly delicious. Paired with super crispy tater tots, it was the tastiest, low-key brunch I've had in a while. Note that they are cash only, they mention this on the door but I completely missed it and pulled out my debit card. She kindly reminded me about the policy and mentioned they have ATM in the shop, but there is also a PNC ATM across the street. I ran over there and got cash and it was all good. Quaint hole in the wall, family owned diner with lots of funny signs and decor everywhere. We went twice on our trip because we liked it so much the first time. The Yinzer scrambler and the bluberry crumble waffle were my personal favorites but it was all delicious! I believe the owner was waiting and they were very nice and answered all of our questions about the menu. They even cooked up a pierogie for us to try before ordering since we had never had them and didn't know what they were like. Will definitely be back when in Pittsburgh again. read more

I brought my youngest brother and his wife for breakfast on a summer Sunday morning after riding the incline up from Station Square. We were afraid there would be a wait, but we found a table as soon as we walked in, were served immediately, and got our food quickly. The coffee is good and limitless. I had a glass of orange juice. They went savory with various combinations of eggs and meat; the home fries were just okay, but toast is still superfluous. IT'S 2025: NO ONE FREAKING CARRIES CASH. And I'm old. I still dont carry cash. I almost left when I saw the sign. But because an ATM was right at the end of the block we went in. The place is cramped. I knew that; we used to come here when it was Micro Diner (which we liked a lot). The decor is Americana-wooden-sign trash - a mix of "eff you" meets Jesus core. I came for breakfast, I don't need religious inspiration and I don't need to be told in writing that they have contempt for customers. The humor isn't cute; it's stupid. It was frigidly cold in there. A small, no frills breakfast sandwich served with nothing else is $10+. They use the ethnic slur "dego" on the menu. I almost never leave a negative review (you can verify this) because I feel like every restaurant has a bad day from time to time, but idk, this place just left a bad taste that barely had to do with the food. read more

We were looking for a place to eat before heading back home (VA and IL) after attending a concert the night before with friends (Kesha!). There is limited space/seating in the restaurant, so there is usually a little wait for a table...But there is a bakery next door that we got a pre-breakfast snack at. Our party of 4 was probably in and out in a little over an hour despite the wait and busy time. We loved all the decor and funny signs/menu. We loved the family dynamics and staff was great. Stopped in for the first time after watching a bit of the marathon, expected it to be busy and it was. Luckily, we were able to sit right away at the bar. I seemed to have sat right under a vent that was blowing nonstop. I was fine but keep that in mind. Decor is your typical family owned diner decorations. Nothing special but fits the part. Our server was very nice and our waters and coffee were constantly being filled. Food was good, could use some more seasoning but the portion was huge! It did take a bit for it to come out, there's only one cook on the grill. It did suck to have my friends come out 5-10 minutes before mine. Have I had better diner food? Kind of a Mom and Pop type place and pretty small. Total seating inside for maybe 20. We went for Brunch on a Sunday late morning with 7 people and waited for 15 minutes for a table. They do not take reservations. Food is very reasonably priced and pretty good but not great. Thus the 4 stars. Wish I could recommend this place, I truly admire the small independently owned places as opposed to the corporate chains. However, it felt cramped and uncomfortably cold. Our waitress was fine and friendly but I made a mistake of engaging in conversation with another employee who then talked my ear off. The decor is an overwhelming, overstimulating, hodgepodge of stuff. The food: I requested home fries with my omelette and was given hash browns instead. The omelette and hash browns were cooked in a ton of oil/butter, quite greasy. My son said his breakfast sandwich was fine, it looked a little lonely without any sides and I seem to recall other reviews specifically stating that these things were served with unexpectedly large salads. Our morning plans were to take the incline and find breakfast. So happy we found Eggs and Moore! Coming from the Rocky Mountain states, the area reminded me of some of our little mountain towns, as did this little gem. We were a party of 8 that they were able to quickly accommodate. There were only two waitstaff working and they were very efficient with seating people, taking and bringing out hot orders. Our coffee cups were never lacking. We had a combination of biscuits and gravy, steak and eggs, French toast, FT casserole, and basic eggs, bacon, and toast plates. Everything was amazing. My eggs were overdone but it did not take away from the biscuits and gravy....at all! Some people negatively commented on the "cheap wooden sayings" on the walls. This dinner location and the cheap rip off signs in the interior was a plus, but that is all I would recommend. I ate here recently and was stunned with my experience from the staff, who is owned by three adult sisters. Two of which are on the front lines of your dinning experience. The food was the same as any dinner, nothing to rave about just same ole dinner food. The staff was like watching a reality television trailer trash show. The waitress served us coffee twice, once while on her cell phone and once in the middle of conversation with the cook, which they were using a wide range of profanity. The staff was airing their unstable family drama while cooking breakfast for tables. I thought they were gonna fight it out right in front of morning patrons. It's pretty obvious, this family should not work together. I also observed staff handling cell phones and cash money and then immediately handing food. Gross. Though I was entertained by the family drama and use of poor language, again the food was subpar. I won't be back. read more
