The staff here is our of this world! They are so helpful and this hotel has so much to offer. The style is great, they are dog friendly and have a free happy hour! It is my first time staying here and the location is great and the staff has been wonderful- seriously from the valet, bellboy & front desk.

My stay is ALWAYS 10/10 at hotel Monaco. It is my favorite hotel in the city and I always have to make a stop at the commoner. The hotel is always beautiful and more than clean. Service is great and I always look forward to my next 'staycation' when I'm able!

Loved this hotel. Very unique. Only drawback was no coffee in the room and no small bottles of toiletries ( not a fan of big bottles to share). Coffee was served downstairs in the morning, for free, but it does require getting dressed. Happy hour with free wine and beer in the evening. Comfortable rooms. Great service. Good location.

Pros -very comfy bed -good location -food at the restaurant was very good -staff is very friendly -the room was very clean -the social hour was very lovely as well, we got a nice glass of wine and a beer. Opportunities -no coffee machines in the room -no laundry bags in the room -no water bottles in the room -the shower head is small and tiny and not good, water pressure is not good as well -unsure of why the glass is a half a wall, hard to turn on the shower. -get new TVs, they are old and small and slow. Park across the street in the city of Pittsburgh authority garage. It was $16 for the entire weekend, after 4pm on Friday. Valet at the hotel was way too much.

My wife, two sons (17 yrs, 15 yrs,), miniature poodle, and I stayed here for one night during the return leg of a long road trip to the Midwest. This is a lovely high-end boutique hotel with delightful colors and a "birdcage" theme. Valet parking is about $42 per night and the complimentary happy hour (for a drink) and morning coffee are great. It's a dog-friendly hotel that does not charge an additional pet fee. Although it is a bit pricey, we found it was comparable to staying at nearby hotels which had a pet surcharge. But the Kimpton Hotel is unique and delightful. This is a very urban section of the city with limited green space for dogs. That said, I would recommend the Mellon Green (about a block away). it's open in the mornings, but they close the gates at night. Overall, this is a memorable place to stay in downtown Pittsburgh if you're here for one night!

We continue to be impressed every time we stay at a Kimpton. We only stayed here for one night while we were on a long road trip, but we found this hotel to be delightful and relaxing... exactly what we wanted. Like all the other Kimptons, the hotel is decorated in fun, bright, bold colors. There were a lot of fun little touches, from the flower murals in the hallways to the bright aqua doors. Also, the fact that the Kimptons are all pet-friendly and do not charge you to bring your four-legged family members still amazes me every time. This hotel was super dog-friendly. Everyone we met was really excited to see our dogs and treated them like special guests. I was delighted when the bellman offered to have a loaner dog bed brought up for us and bowls for the dogs. My only complaint is that there is like nowhere for the dogs to go potty. My husband said there was a dog relief area but I never found it. There are a couple of offices with lawns a few blocks away but the grass is all fenced off. I saw one guy holding his pet's leash from the sidewalk while his dog went on the grass. I also want to give a shout out to the staff. They were super friendly to our dogs, and they were overly helpful. When we needed silverware because our Door Dash order didn't have any, they brought us real plates, full silverware sets, cloth napkins, etc. We would definitely return.

Amazing hotel! It really gives that old school unique style to it. Will visit again soon.

Great location. Very comfortable accommodations. I'd give it five stars but they don't offer room service nor was there a mini bar in the room. Also, the restaurant closes pretty early. They have morning coffee/tea service as well as a cocktail hour but we never took advantage of either because we were too busy exploring the city. The room is nicely appointed and a good size. The bathroom was amazing. The beds are comfortable and the staff is nice. The room was very quiet especially considering it is right in the heart of downtown. There is a church next door and we did hear the bells at 9 am but really nothing much else. I'd consider staying here again but will probably find a place with room service and a restaurant that stays open later.

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh is definitely a one-of-a-kind hotel. It has the most stunningly beautiful and unique decor of any hotel I have ever stayed in. It just reeks of modern classiness. It is proof of what real interior designers can do. The service is top-notch professional and when you are in your room, you are in the lap of luxury. There are plenty of great amenities such as the rooftop Biergarten Bar with its outstanding city center views. Also, the Commoner restaurant which is anything but common with its vibrant design recalling Pittsburgh's industrial past and complements a kitchen that excels at adding modern flourishes to classic comforts.

Perfect downtown hotel for a weekend trip or staycation. We visited here for a birthday staycation downtown. The rooms are bright and quirky. The hotel staff is so friendly and I loved the cocktail hour from 5-6pm. The rooftop Biergarten is perfect for a summertime cocktail, with great views of downtown.

Great location, friendly staff and very clean rooms. Really enjoyed our stay, the hotel and the rooms were very much detailed-out and kept-up with. There is no parking lot, but there is a garage adjacent from the hotel. The Commoner (restaurant) is below the hotel and it's a great complement to the hotel. Two complains I have, very minor and possibly just specific to our room: the mattress was a bit worn, where certain parts of the bed has a bit more "give". Don't need to know what happened to it, but just an observation. The other one is the lack of a door on the glass shower. The water pressure was so strong, the water was splashing against me and spilling-out of the walk-in shower. Other than that, I'd love to stay in this hotel again. Great location and amazing hotel experience.

I stayed here one night because I thought the trendy Bloomfield neighborhood would provide a nice change-of-pace from the more established downtown area. I was also planning to drive to upstate New York and thought this would be a convenient location for a faster getaway. Well, a sudden winter snowstorm forced me to cancel the side trip to New York, and I ended up spending very little time exploring Bloomfield because I took a long nap in my room after a sleepless night in the previous hotel. Even though it was bordering on pointless to shift to this hotel, I still enjoyed the studio I reserved for $152. There was a comfortable king bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a corner sofa, and a 360-degree swivel flatscreen TV. It was a lot of amenities I didn't need, but hey, it was freezing cold, so the apartment set-up made it feel cozy. One other advantage was a sizable lot to park my rental SUV. Even though they offered a happy hour and continental breakfast, I skipped both. Instead I braved the cold and just strolled on Baum to find a decent greasy spoon for dinner and a quiet gay bar for a drink. Not a bad stay, and I'd consider a return to explore Bloomfield. Here's our experience. 1) Check-In: One unique aspect of this hotel is that the check-in is on the top floor with a beautiful view of Pittsburgh. Take the elevator to the 10th floor and two check in stands are right when the elevator doors open. The entire check-in experience took about five minutes. The woman helping us was efficient, personable, and even gave us a walking map of the area. She also gave us two drink vouchers to use on house beer, wine, or a mocktail at the hotel bar. 2) Rooms: Our larger room was on the 4th floor with two queen sized beds. The room corridor was wide, making it look much larger. There are plenty of outlets everywhere, lights, a TV, a Keurig machine, a fridge, and more. The bathroom was spacious with a toilet room with a closing door inside, a large shower, and Le Labo shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The beds are semi comfy and come with lots of pillows. 3) Amenities: There's no pool, but there is a gym with machines and weights. There's also a small rooftop terrace with a view of the Cathedral of Learning, work areas, and more. There's valet parking and a cheaper parking garage not connected to the hotel across the street. One interesting aspect of the hotel is that it's on the site of the Syrian Mosque, a large music venue. A recording studio, guitar, etc. inside the hotel are all nods to the music venue. 4) Service: The staff were very friendly and helpful. After a day of exploring, our room had a nice card with chocolate, macarons, and raspberries, and nice water for us. My wife forgot her toothbrush and the front desk gave her a free one from behind the desk! 5) Neighborhood: It's next to a number of museums and monuments and the Cathedral of Learning, which is worth a tour to see their Nationality Rooms.

I was immediately blown away with the foyer! At check in, there is fruit infused water to quench your thirst. The hallways were incredible! And still had their old charm! I even picked up the old fashioned telephone and it rings the front desk! You can use it shall you need something ... if for some reason you cannot enter your room, just pick up the black phone in the hallway and they will come to you (this didn't happen to me, but just a tip if it does). I stayed in room 1470 and absolutely love my view of the gothic architecture of the Union Trust. I looked out my window a million times! The size of my room was huge! I could have done cartwheels all over the place! The WiFi is complimentary for guests. There's cable TV. Maybe other options too but I didn't have my tv on much to know. The water pressure deserves its own special shout out! Holy moly it was heaven! And the brand of washes they had was nice! It is not good for the speakeasy ... and yes, it's a real speakeasy that existed in the 1920s you could access thru tunnels under the city! So cool! On checkout day, the event I attended was going to start early and finish after checkout time. Since I was up late the night before, the front desk said I was welcome to bring my bags down now for bellhop to hold, but they also put me for a late checkout at 1pm so I could come down late the next day too. So partway thru the event just before 1pm I brought down my bags and they held them for the next 90 mins I was there. I parked across the street at the Mellon square parking garage ... Apple GPS marks the garage in the wrong place FYI ... it marks it about a block away but it is directly across the street from the hotel, with the entrance to it being on the cross street. I paid $44 to park there from Thursday around 5pm to Sunday around 3pm. Not bad. They do have valet parking at the hotel too but that is $55 per day I believe. Leaving was sad. I would have liked more time to enjoy this place. I would love to come back sometime! I have nothing bad to say about this place. Wonderful staff and incredible hotel!
