Popped in here on a Sunday evening before dinner. It has a cute interior setup. I went with their twist of an espresso martini.. the rum in it made all the difference, along with the other ingredients. Staff was attentive and friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Service was meh. This was our first time here...and visiting Pittsburgh. The server could have explained more about the different drinks or gave a recommendation. She was more concerned about just starting a tab. Did the decor was very nice and the drinks were good.

Five of us got tickets to Space Bar's Valentine's Day cocktail experience! The three drinks are meant to mimic a meal but with cocktails! They were all delicious and I appreciate the advanced cocktail techniques used.

This place was cool, but it was way smaller and more tame than I expected. with how much it's hyped up I was expecting more. The drinks were good and they were cool, but I didn't think the flavor profile for the one I had really matched the super detailed description. I had the rainbow road, and it definitely just gave chocolate no other flavors pulled through. (And Im not an Emile Im a Remy, I taste everything). I really loved that they put a lot of thought into crafting the cocktails, but i felt very let down by the one I got. We also got sat in a really awkward spot of the bar, which made it hard to really enjoy the experience (we got sat at tiny 3 seat near the door) Other than that the service was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. I just...if Im in the mood to try something cool and crazy, I want it to be hype, not super chill, low music, tiny space, i would have went on a weekday instead. It's definitely an experience and I would recommend going, just expect more of a relaxed environment and a smaller space

I am not what you would call a bar person. I haven't really been into the bar scene since just after I turned 21, which was over 20 years ago. However, I have been to this spot several times now since discovering them at a recent mocktail event. There I learned that they not only have a whole bunch of fun, space themed cocktails with special effects like dry ice, they have a dedicated nonalcoholic menu as well with a bunch of NA options. I stopped drinking alcohol earlier this year due to a brain injury and the inclusivity of this brings me so much joy. The space is a really cool lounge vibe. Groups of people from across the age spectrum seem to come here. There are lounge tables that can seat several people, high tops that seat two and a bar. The staff, from host to servers to the owner who is hands-on and frequently stop by to chat, are all so incredibly nice and welcoming. I have yet to have a drink that disappointed me. From the NA menu, the Tartooine Sour is the star but you can't go wrong.

I was looking for a unique bar and I found it! This place was super fun. It was pretty empty but it was a Wednesday so that's to be expected. They had a lot of interesting drinks. I got the 'Kiwi Nova' and my husband got the 'Darth Vapor'. It smoked and it was really cool. He really enjoyed that drink and I really enjoyed mine. They had a decent amount of seating, we sat at a hightop. All the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend for a good time.

It wouldn't be winter without a trip to my favorite out of this world bar. This year's seasonal pop-up theme "Snowglobe" changed the bar into a winter wonderland. The bartenders are masterfully skilled in the art of gastronomy. My wife and I tried their two seasonal drinks, the Spiced Pearseus and Nebula Noir. Highly recommend both!!! Nebula provided earthiness with the smooth finish of the Angel's Envy (a terrific bourbon in itself). The Pearseus had a wonderful natural pear flavor with the bright citrus complemented by the sweet orange, black tea and vanilla foam topper. I may miss their amazing New Years celebration, but every time I'm there, Space Bar always transports me in time and space.

4.5 stars. Space Bar is a spaced-themed molecular-mixology bar that serves a rotating selection of alcoholic beverages (e.g., cocktails, beers, wines, ciders, and liquors), non-alcoholic beverages (e.g., cocktails, beers, and sodas), and some foods (e.g., snack mix, chips and salsa, and cheeses). Please see my attached photos for the menu in February 2025. My husband and I visited this bar one time. We had no reservation, but you can make one. The owner met us at the front door, seated us at a comfortable table, and made friendly conversation when she later checked in with us. The space-themed interior design created an "out of this world" atmosphere. We ordered two drinks through our phone, and minutes later our server brought the drinks to us. Later she brought our bill to us for payment. The Skywatcher drink cost $15, and it consisted of Haku vodka, Giffard strawberry, yogurt soju, hibiscus cordial, lime, tea, and strawberry popping boba. It came with one piece of Hi-Chew candy. I enjoyed the fruity flavors. The Starship cost $16, and it contained gin, lime, pomelo, grapefruit, lemon, orange, hibiscus, dandelion root, gentian root, lemongrass, rosemary, cardamon, allspice, clove, and cinchona bark. Its dry ice and a flashing light looked fun. Space Bar's website lists some events such as astronomy, karaoke, costume nights, bingo, trivia, book clubs, comedy, and movies.

Really far out bar! The owners are really knowledgeable and super friendly. The space design is awesome! We ordered a few of the drinks and they tasted great. They always have new drinks so it's a new experience each time.

I love Space Bar! The vibe is so cool and so different from anywhere else in the city. The staff is lovely and I have an amazing time every time This trip I tried the Falling Whale and Kiwi Nova and both were amazing. All the flavors went together impeccably! I know I will be back soon!

The Fifth Ele-mint + Tart-ooine Sour

My BFF and I spent a long weekend in Pittsburgh while coming to town for a concert. Space Bar was a short walk from our hotel and it was such a delight! The cocktails are all very interactive (whether it's glassware, dry ice, changeable lights, smoke, etc) and oh-so tasty! We had 2 rounds here before walking to a nearby spot for dinner. For my first drink I ordered the Li Shen's Bazaar Pho and it came out like a little miso soup which was so fun. It tasted slightly savory, but was nice and cold and had a basil/cilantro jelly snack that was incredibly refreshing. My friend ordered the Radio Galaxy as her first beverage- it was served in such a cool glass and had a very delicious whipped cream topping. For our second round I decided to stick with gin and got the Tart-ooine Sour that came with a changeable light underneath the glass (the neon, slime green was my favorite out of the colors, so I kept it that way) and it was so good I had to stop myself from drinking it too fast. My friend got The Fifth Ele-mint as her second drink and the cucumber and mint made it so invigorating. It was a little spectacle to behold with the dry ice bubbling out underneath the glass. We sat at the bar while we were there and both bartenders working were friendly, kind, and not pushy about ordering. They asked if we had ever been in before and explained the menu/the preparation behind the drinks to us before ordering. It is a really cool spot in downtown Pittsburgh that has a lot of other great spots within walking distance, so you can pop in for one or 2 drinks along the way to or from somewhere else. I definitely recommend stopping in for a creative cocktail if you're visiting the area!

Whenever I tell people that it's basically a pub with great sushi they are truly befuddled but everything here works (and is extremely delicious) I've had numerous things from the menu but I always go back to the steak sandwich. There are a few staple drinks but I love to have a bar tender make whatever they're feeling. I've had some fun nights with complete strangers while watching Pen's games. This is the place to be.

I've heard so many mixed things that I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed every aspect of my experience. It kind of has dive bar vibes but the food and drink options are definitely on the elevated side. They open at 4 on Sundays and I got there around 4:15. It was already pretty busy (and by the time I was leaving, every single table and bar stool were occupied). They have standard booth seats along the windows, hightop tables in the middle and bar seating along the bar that curves along the back of the restaurant. I chose to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I was promptly greeted by the bartender. They don't hand you copies of the menu, you have to scan the QR code to access. It is easy to read and follow with sections for drinks, specials (this time they were Wicked themed as a nod to the show at the Benedum) and a sushi section. I ordered the street corn dip. The chips were a bit overcooked and the dip was just OK. I thought it was pricey for what you got. The star of my meal, though, was the patty melt. It had the burger, a bacon jam, caramelized onions and was absolutely delicious! It was served with fries. I considered ordering sushi but wasn't sure what to expect. The patrons sitting on either side of my ordered rolls and they were a nice size and looked delicious, so that is something I would consider ordering in the future. It was a place I'll likely be back to because of the proximity to the theater (although their prices definitely reflect that). Just note how crowded it always is and give yourself plenty of time if you plan on heading here for dinner before the show.

The atmosphere alone is worth a visit. The drinks are definitely crafted with care and have a lot of complexity, but with only two bartenders working, it took quite a while to get ours. Not the place to go if you want quick service or are grabbing a drink before another event. My biggest downside is the price point--most cocktails are around $17. They're good, but at that price I can really only justify having one. Note: They do not have food, just snacks like peanuts. Overall, amazing ambiance and well-made drinks, just expect slower service and a higher bill.

Very impressed by their craftsmanship and experimental flavors. There's not many places in this area that even attempt to do that. I love the speakeasy vibe. Super cool entrance and fun comfortable lounge upstairs. It's a fantastic place to go as an intimate group. But it's kind of small to take a group of more than 4 friends. Cocktails were made surprisingly quick even on a busy night. Everything is just really great about this place. Except for maybe the price lol but at least you're getting what you pay for in a good way

Right in the heart of downtown, this place makes a strong first impression. You walk in and immediately notice the high ceilings and overall vibe--modern, but still warm. We headed upstairs and lucked out with a window table, which made for a great brunch atmosphere. Our waitress was super friendly, and once I spotted a mimosa on the menu... yeah, that decision was made instantly. Gotta celebrate draft weekend properly We started with the smoked salmon appetizer--perfect portion, super fresh, and a great way to kick things off. Then came the toughest decision of the morning: blueberry lemon pancakes or cherry cheesecake French toast? Both sounded like they belonged in the brunch hall of fame. But in the end, the brunch favorite called my name--the cheesy tater tot waffle. And let me tell you... absolutely worth it. Crispy, cheesy, and topped with over-easy eggs that brought it all together. One of those dishes where you just sit there for a second after the first bite like, "yeah, I made the right call." Wrapped it up with a hot coffee, refueled and ready for another full day of draft energy. Here's to Pittsburgh draft weekend and a brunch that delivered. If you're into photo-worthy spots, come here. We started off with the ratatouille flatbread and the crab fondue. Both yummy. For my main I had the teriyaki salmon and it was fine. I also got the sweet potatoes as a side and they were lovely. I tried to re-create them at home. For dessert I had the strawberry pretzel salad and as a native Pittsburgher, I was expecting something very different. It was good and unique, but it was not at all what I expected. I would definitely recommend the valet. It was cheaper than self-parking in a nearby lot.
