While still much better than many coffee shops in the Pittsburgh area, their espresso seems to lack flavor and their milk didn't have the quality/texture I was looking for. However since I ordered a latte, espresso flavor is often overshadowed/diluted purely by the nature of the drink. I LOVED this place last time I came. They had skilled baristas and very unique flavors and decent espresso. Perhaps I came on an off day. However this time the milk wasn't the same silky texture as before and the espresso flavor was very subtle. There was no latte art, which is okay, but for the artisanal branding and pricing I was hoping for that same experience I had last time. I would recommend this spot since it's very cozy and fun to explore menu-wise, though I left wondering if something changed.

Not too friendly, yet also not rude, I think maybe just a bit shy. I went here in particular because I saw they had gluten free everything bagels & vegan cream cheese, so I was sooo excited to order it, but unfortunately they did not have any gluten free bagels at that time. I looked around for another GF & DF option, and landed on a couple of hard boiled eggs. Can't go wrong with a hard boiled egg, hehehe! I ordered a cold brew with the sugar free hazelnut & asked for extra syrup, which I soon determined was not necessary. That's a great thing though! It was an amazing sugar free syrup & if you get the SF hazelnut I'd suggest just keeping the amount as is. Their cold brew itself was really yummy too (well from what I could tell because I accidentally asked for too much syrup, hahaha). It is so stinkin' cute inside this shop and I wish I had more time to look around a bit. I definitely plan to go back, and fingers crossed I can try the GF everything bagel next time! I'd love to look around more inside & actually dine in, because it felt wicked cozy! I also love that they offer glassware options for those who dine-in, plus they use compostable items for take-out. We stopped in here one morning before visiting the zoo. It's in a small neighborhood on the outskirts of the city. Walking up, we were greeted by locals sitting out front. It seemed like a usual meetup and they were super nice. Cute place. They have a ton of options... when I found the Orange Freshpresso on the menu, I knew I had to have it. It's an orange juice-coffee/espresso concoction that is quite frankly... to die for. If anyone knows anywhere in Louisville where I can order anything similar, let me know. It riles me up thinking that I can't have this menu item unless I visit Pittsburgh. I'm sure I could try my hand at making it but I just know it wouldn't be the same. If you're near Pittsburgh, drop into this place. On my next visit, I'll definitely go back for that Freshpresso. I'll likely order the freshpresso and something else just to try more of their menu.

It's located on Stevenson Place in that weird triangle where East Liberty, Friendship, and Shadyside meet. Even though I'm very familiar with the area, I didn't even know there was a street there. Parking was tight and at a premium, even early on a Sunday morning, so my wife jumped out and ordered for both of us while I circled the block. For our drinks on this morning I ended up with an iced salted caramel date latte while my wife got an iced coconut Americano. Mine was described as "organic dates, maple syrup, and a pinch of sea salt," and I couldn't find a description for my wife's drink. It only took a few minutes before she was back in the car with both of our coffees. Mine ended up being really good. From the first sip to the last, the coffee flavor remained front and center, which isn't always easy to accomplish with an iced drink. Even the foam on top had a strong coffee flavor. Beyond that, I picked up a pleasant sweetness, which I assume came primarily from the dates, although the maple syrup likely contributed as well. On the finish I could definitely taste both the sea salt and a subtle dryness from the dates. I was also able to sneak a sip of my wife's coffee, and the coconut cream on top was delicious. When combined with the espresso, it reminded me a bit of an affogato because of the contrast between the creamy coconut and the bold coffee. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our drinks, and I would love to come back and try more of their specials.

I couldn't finish the drink because of that weird taste. The matcha itself is good though. Definitely will come back to try the non-fruit drinks though and I'm sure they are better!

Where they really stole my heart was having a full nonalcoholic bar with complex drinks like takes on an espresso martini and old fashioned made with NA spirits. So so good.
