Super great vibes and worth coming to get some chat in, studying or work done. I got a lavender latte and it was a great latte. They have a bunch of cool seasonal syrup flavors and other beverages that coming back would lead to a new adventure each time. It does get super packed on the weekends, so it was hard to find a table and we took our drinks to go.
I'm on a quest to find the best coffee shop to study/do work in in Pittsburgh and this place was next on my list. For the purpose of this task, I give it a three out of five. The ambience is calm and somewhat cozy, there are couches to sit on and tables to focus with. I went in the morning/early afternoon, the lighting from outside was not great, typical Pittsburgh fashion. The light fixtures inside were way too dim. I found myself tilting my notebook to try to catch some natural light. Outlets also aren't easily accessible which is huge for being able to do work of course. The coffee was great, I tried the hibiscus cold foam latte, or something like that. I paired it with a bacon egg biscuit sandwich which was very filling. Definitely satisfied with the food products. Customer service was also fine, the women behind the counter were cheerful and pleasant.
I love a good coffee shop. And with that good shop is good coffee. And this place was not a disappointment. I will walk into any coffee shop because I like trying new places out. And I'm thinking you should as well. Sometimes it's great. Sometimes it's good. And sometimes it's poor. But you won't know till you try. And this place was great. Good luck in your coffee adventures.
While visiting Pittsburgh, we walked from our accommodation to Inkwell coffee shop two of the mornings we were in town. On the first morning, I ordered a spiced maple latte with oat milk, while my husband ordered the blueberry pancake latte. My dad ordered a classic chai tea latte. I loved all of the plants and large windows that allowed plenty of natural light. We enjoyed our beverages before walking back to our accommodation. The following morning, I came by myself to get my morning latte and opted for an iced pumpkin spice oat milk latte. Both times, the lattes were delicious without being overly sweet. I appreciated that they had milk alternatives for those of us who have trouble digesting lactose. I did not end up trying any of the pastries or bakery items, but they did look delicious. A cool coffee shop worth checking out if you find yourself in the Pittsburgh area.
Inkwell is awesome, and they always have fun seasonal drinks. For example, I could not pass up the Pink Princess Lemonade this time. It was a rose flavored lemonade with sparkling water and glitter of course. It was really refreshing. This place gets super cramped on the weekends. People have to squeeze by you while you're waiting in line, and you might not get a table. It's really not that bad because the staff is nice, and they're fast, so you dont have to wait too long. I think it's a good spot for a to-go drink, but it's nice to sit and hangout if you're lucky enough to get a table!
Local coffee shop located on Butler St next to the food hall! I like how they do seasonal drinks (listed on a board outside). The inside is quite small tbh with only a few tables and a larger communities table at the back. The space inside to maneuver is also limited. I got an iced gingerbread latte, which didn't really have a gingerbread or cinnamon taste. Honestly a bit of a disappointment. I've heard good things about this place on the contrary. They do latte art for the hot drinks. The caramel latte was decent.
Really loved the pumpkin cookies iced latte on their fall menu! This would be a really cute coffee shop for WFH or studying'
I love Inkwell, but not for their coffee--I love their London Fog! (I haven't tried their coffee, so I can't speak to that). To me, a perfect London Fog is sweet, creamy, and has lots of foam. This one fits the bill! There is usually a line, but it moves quickly. They always have seasonal decorations, and the last time I was there they had a candle collab with Mix Candle Company that smelled delicious.
On a gloomy, gray and slightly chilly morning, we stopped at Inkwell for some coffee. We tried a flat white and the special, a horchata latte. This coffee turned our slightly gloomy morning right around! The horchata latte was nicely done, a nice sweetness balanced with light cinnamon. Very cozy inside, we were able to grab a table and enjoy our drink. Quick and friendly service! Latte art is always a nice touch.
Our barista was so kind. She recommended a delicious spicy maple latte and it was delicious!! I'm pretty particular about my coffee and this place was a WIN! Super cool vibes in there also. Highly recommend!
Just moved to Pittsburgh and I've already become a regular at Inkwell in Lawrenceville! It's a great coffee shop with a strong neighborhood vibe. My go-to orders are the vanilla or caramel latte -- the espresso flavor really shines through, but never too bitter or overpowering. The flavored syrups are just right: noticeable, but not overly sweet. Drinks come out super quick, even when it's busy. It's a popular spot, especially packed on weekends, and it can get pretty loud -- definitely more of a place to catch up with friends than to study.
Saw Inkwell as I was on my way to the French bakery down the block and decided to get some coffee on my way. I'm a coffee girl, but I've been wanting to try matcha. The ladies behind the counter told me to try it and if it didn't work out, they'd just make me something else. Well I didn't love the matcha, but not because of any error on their part, I just don't think it's for me. However, they kept their promise and made me a salted caramel latte which was delicious. I'd visit again.
Really nice vibe and one of my favorite coffee shops in Lawrenceville! The seasonal drinks are always on point, and the Hibiscuis Cloud Latte was delicious, especially love how you can see the vanilla bean specks in the cold foam, their flavors are unmatched! Not that much seating but definitely a nice vibe to study and do work there! read more

My tried and true Lawrenceville coffee shop and one of the few places that a 16 oz cold brew is only $5! I love how friendly the baristas here are and that the coffee is consistently good. read more

This place is always packed. Sunday at 1pm, not a seat available in the place. So unfortunately, had to take my muffin to go. It was okay, a bit dry, but did the job. The latte was tasty but could have had more flavor. Will definitely try again because I think I caught them at a bad moment. read more

Coffee here is wonderful--love it. Breakfast sandwich wasn't our favorite. Very mushy vibe if you know what I mean. The coffee is one of the best in the area so I will continue to try new coffees especially their specialties there! read more

I got a large of the seasonal strawberry foam cold brew with extra strawberry foam and it was quite tasty. The wait was short and the drink came out very quickly for a Saturday morning. A small cafe but with a little wait, a table opened up. This was the perfect place to meet up with a friend for a chat over coffee. A large cold brew with a personalization for less than $6 gets two thumbs up from me! read more

Cutest local coffee shop! The iced spiced maple latte was perfect - not too sweet and the right amount of spice for a comforting fall drink. Love the tin ceiling, brick walls and iron base under the wooden tabletops. Cool and relaxing vibe! read more

Great aesthetic, super cozy and inviting looking space. I was there during the summer, and I noticed they had 2-3 tables so you could sit outside. Coffee was really good, I ordered mine black to go, which they got to me really fast. They weren't super welcoming or friendly, but everything else was great so it really didn't matter. read more

Inkwell is a cute little local coffee shop on the main drag of Lawrenceville with a nice selection of beverages, minimal pastries and a great remote workspace backdrop. Pet dogs appear to be welcome in the shop, which is always fun. I had a mocha latte and a scone and they were both enjoyable. Staff was friendly and our purchases were ready fast. read more

Probably one of my fave locally owned coffee shops. It's quaint, warm and welcoming with rustic/industrial decor. They also have a mini gallery of artwork setup from local artists. Get a drink and a painting all in one stop. The coffee flavors and treats are original, creative and delicious. You'll never want to visit a corporate coffee shop again after a stop at Inkwell. Friendly and talented baristas that present you with a drinkable work of art. Support local business; especially now during this pandemic. PS: hours listed on Yelp and Google are NOT accurate. Check their actual website. read more

After months of only chain coffee and staying home during the pandemic I ventured to Lawrenceville And here is Inkwell looking fresh and new The shop is bright and shiny with a silver color tin ceiling In the olden days I could see my self relaxing with a cup of coffee and a slice of their delicious looking pound cakes they had lemon &carrot plus muffins Alas their comfy seats and table are a no go I ordered my iced caramel coffee from the lone friendly knowledgeable barista Wished him well and took my coffee to the car Delightfully caramelly and the coffee really shown through a perfect cup I'll be back read more

I came here with my sister and my mother because we wanted to get some coffee before we got some snacks for breakfast. I've been wanting to try Inkwell for a while now because new coffee shops are always good places to do work if the setting is good. And being a work from home person at least twice a week it's nice to have different but local spots to go to. When we walked in I really enjoyed the art that they had on the wall. The flowers were beautiful. Large scale paintings and art like that really appealed to my sense of design, is that it, or something. I thought that the art really set the mood for the entire place. There's not a ton of seating on the inside but there is enough for groups to sit down and to converge. I like coffee shops that have larger tables so that maybe you can meet someone while hanging out for the morning. While the tables weren't huge you could put them together if you came with a group. We ordered an iced coffee, the Turkish elixir, and a mocha. The lady behind the counter was super sweet and nice and got our orders ready right away. The only thing that I took one star off of was that she handed me a drink and said this is the mocha and when I gave it to the person once we drove home who wanted a mocha it was not a mocha. Not a huge deal the drink was fine, no idea what it was, but still slightly disappointing. Someone at the house still drank it, but I did feel bad for the person who wanted the mocha and didn't get it. The Turkish elixir my mom got and she said it was amazing. She's going to try to make it at home once she heads back to Erie. She was very impressed by it. The iced coffee my sister liked and said it tasted like it should. I look forward to coming back again with my work stuff and maybe spending a little bit of time doing some work while sitting there admiring the artwork. And then when I go again we can see about that extra star to for a new updated review. What we got was good and I think that this is a good place to go if you're just looking to get a cup. read more
