I tried their cinnamon muffin which was yummy just a bit dry. I think you need to go earlier in the morning to have the most fresh pastries. Came here for breakfast and coffee. The shop is small and a bit dark and old looking for my taste, but it was fine. Some additional lighting would serve this place very well. The food was definitely 5 stars. We got their "best of the burgh" breakfast sandwich. And if it's not truly the best of the burgh, it's darn close. The slaw and crispy bits of sausage take this one over the top. We also really enjoyed their homemade cinnamon rolls. Top notch. As for coffee, I got an Americano and had to order an extra shot since it came with only 2. A no no in my book. But they use 19 Coffee Company beans, which I like, so it ended up being a good cup. My wife got the "Caffeine in a jump suit", but ordered it decaffeinated oddly enough. She had no complaints. They do seem to have some interesting latte flavor combinations for people interested in that sort of thing. read more

This coffee shop has been on my "to try" list for quite a while. Finally took the time to visit today and am so glad I did! I knew this place didn't have street parking, but fortunately I went on a Sunday afternoon, so parking was free and I found a spot quickly. Granted, since I went on a Sunday afternoon it looked like they had run out of a number of baked goods. Not a problem though - what I really needed on this hot summer day was iced coffee. I ordered a lavender latte because I always order a lavender latte if a coffee shop sells it (I love my local one but they unfortunately don't keep that syrup flavor in stock). I loved it! They absolutely hit the perfect mix of coffee and flavoring, I.e. neither overpowered the other. 10/10, would order again. I didn't stick around too long but I did take some time to explore the shop once I spotted the photos on the walls; there were six photos featuring old streetcars running through Dormont. I also happened to be in the shop when one of PRT's LRVs rolled by. Clearly the owners have fully leaned into their name and location (which is RIGHT by the T stop) and I love it! While parking in Dormont will remain my biggest barrier to getting here in the future, I'm very glad I made my little trip here today. I'll absolutely come back for a good cup of coffee sometime - and I'd love to try one of their sandwiches or pastries when I do! read more

A great coffee shop in the heart of Dormont. I have visited a few times since discovering the shop, and I have had a positive experience each time! Potomac Station Coffee is a cute neighborhood shop located right along the T line in Dormont. The store is a fair size, and has outdoor and indoor seating. It would be a great place to complete some work or come to socialize. The staff here is always very friendly and accommodating. They are quick with the service and helpful each time I visit. Anytime I visit, I am usually getting a drink off of the monthly specials board. This time, I got the Fort Pitt Latte, which was very good! The flavor combination was familiar but something a little out-of-the-box for a coffee. Also, my dog got a Pup Cup. They are so big and one of my favorites to get for him. Though I have yet to try them, they make their baked goods in the cases. I enjoy seeing the different offerings on their Instagram when they have something new or different out. They all look delicious, and are very generous sizes. In terms of value, I think the pricing is fair. The specialty drinks and monthly specials seem to be more expensive, but I believe you are getting a fair value for the price. I know I will be returning soon, and I hope to try both the baked goods and some of the food options. Plus, they have punch cards for drink purchases, where when you buy 10 you get the next one free. Potomac Station Coffee in Dormont, is a find!! Located right at the Potomac Sation trolley stop. Super cozy café that serves- breakfast, lunch, homemade pastries plus delicious drinks! They have a seasonal menu that is seriously incredible. Since September is National Library Month- they went with "Pies & Pages"- super cute!! Had a hard time picking from their six featured drinks but went with The Scarlett Apple and am so happy with my choice. This latte is made with homemade syrup and topped with whipped cream and crust crumbles- served hot or iced! I also tried a pumpkin cinnamon roll which is made fresh in-house... wow! Both were fantastic! The shop itself offers many seating choices. When I went in it wasn't super busy, so the place was quiet. In addition to bagels and sandwiches, they also have fresh baked goods (the cinnamon rolls and banana bread with strawberry cream looked delightful). The decor is cute and the atmosphere is friendly. I love this little gem near the light rail tracks on Potomac in Dormont. They have live music sometimes on weekends, outdoor tables as well as indoor seating, just a really nice neighborhood vibe. They also have constantly rotating selections of special drink creations and really delicious food and pastries. It's a great place to stop if you are hungry or just looking for a little treat. Follow their social media to stay in the loop on their current specials so you know what's new before you stop by! I stopped by here a couple of Sunday's ago with my wife and our twins for our morning coffee. Every Sunday morning we try to hit up a new local coffee shop and on this morning we decided to go to Potomac Station Coffeehouse. This coffee shop is located on Potomac Ave right next to the T station there. The inside is good sized with seating at both high top and regular tables. The area to order your coffee had a couple of pastry displays as well. For my coffee on this morning I went with a large brown sugar cinnamon latte while my wife went with their Ube iced macchiato special and then we also ordered our twins a specialty brownie to share. My coffee here ended up being quite good as I was able to taste the deep and rich coffee flavor throughout. Then the brown sugar added a good sweetness to the drink while the milk helped soften any bitterness. The only item that I felt was missing was the cinnamon, but I still enjoyed it. My wife really enjoyed her Ube macchiato and I was able to taste it and thought it was a unique and tasty creation. Finally my twins devoured the brownie and so i assume that was good as well. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I loved that I could taste the coffee in my latte and also that they had some innovative flavors. read more

I'm recently new to the area and just opened a hair salon, I've been trying new coffee places to enjoy and this one has really hit the spot. It has the cutest decor and very friendly welcoming when entering. The menu special items are highlight and the FOOD PORTION SIZES ARE HUGE! The new owner Andrew I had met with on my first trip and I just really loved the service I received. Each time the coffee has been really good, and the food over the top amazing. Breakfast is stopped at 1300 (1pm) and at 1305, there are no exceptions. Frankly, at that time, you might as well serve breakfast all day. My panini was not cooked as requested. They definitely didn't deserve my 30% tip. The floor eclectically creaks under anyone's weight and the staff was.....adequate at best. Everything is narrow especially for wheelchairs. This time it was Gilmore Girl themed, how cute!! I got the Schnickle Fritz, which was a sweet potato latte. Came in for the first time on a rainy Saturday morning around 10:00. I ordered a rosemary vanilla latte (special) and a chocolate biscotti. All of the staff were super friendly and quick with the order. There were about 5-10 other people in the cafe, but it didn't feel crowded at all. They don't have any music playing so it's definitely on the quieter side. I saw a few people working from their laptops. They have high top seating, low tops, couches, etc. They also had a nicely decorated Christmas tree up. The rosemary vanilla latte was amazing. Not too sweet and just the right amount of rosemary - it didn't feel like you were drinking the garden lol. The biscotti was soft, but still crunchy. Very tasty. I came in to grab a drink after going to the book store down the street. They have a special bookstore drink every month and this month was a Chai latte concoction that was fabulous! I sat outside at their sidewalk tables and read a book for an hour while enjoying my drink. Then I was surprised by a puff pastry by them bc they were closing early and it was delicious! Restrooms and indoor dining room was clean and comfortable. Outside was awesome and had traffic entertainment including city busses stopping on the train tracks for a period of time to take a break (?).... i will be back! And recommend! read more

So I was so excited to go here when I first heard about this place. (I'm new here) and there were two guys making the drinks behind the counter. They made me feel like they were judging my husband our friend and I and who ever else they wanted to. It was so obvious and made me feel uncomfortable the whole time. So they were so busy doing that that they messed up my order. They gave it to someone else and gave me that persons. Not only did they look up at me to see if I noticed they just said f it and continued to make and give me the wrong drink. I was watching the whole time. And my food took forever. This coffee shop is one of my favorite spots to get some work done. There's plenty of seating available, and it has a relaxed atmosphere. I typically get an iced coffee and a panini, both of which taste great. It's conveniently located by the T station and among other great spots in Dormont. Employees are generally friendly, and they patiently don't rush me out when it's near closing time. There was once I met an unfriendly worker behind the counter, but it happens. A slight negative is that it can get warm on a hot day when no air conditioning is on. Also, through no fault of their own, it seems like someone lives in the above complex who occasionally plays the drums (bongos?) very loudly, but it's intermittent and only on some days. Love this spot. I walk here with my 3 year old all the time. He likes the cookies and muffins and I like the coffee. Their lunch wraps are great too. I've enjoyed the turkey gouda with spicy aioli and I will be coming back. I believe it also had arugula on it. They had a wonderful Valentine's Day drink- a spicy hot chocolate. My fiancé and I just moved to Dormont within the last 6 months and this is one of our favorite spots. We go almost once a week. Both the drinks and the food have all been great. We love the Mayan Mocha and the chipotle sauce that comes with the paninis. I don't think the menu says it but they can do cold foam made with any of their latte flavors. Delicious!
