I stopped by here a couple of Sundays ago with my wife and our twins for our morning coffee. Every Sunday morning we try to hit up a new local coffee shop and on this morning we decided to go to Coffee Tree Roasters. I actually used to go to all the Coffee Tree Roasters locations quite regularly as they were the standard for coffee for me. For whatever reason though, I had stopped going and so I was interested to see how it stacked up. The inside of this shop is clean with a bunch of different tables to sit at, some merchandise on the back wall and then a refrigerator case near where you place your order. For my coffee on this morning I didn't see any of the holiday specials that I was looking for and so ultimately decided to go with a peppermint latte while my wife went with a peppermint mocha. My peppermint latte here left a lot to be desired unfortunately. The peppermint syrup was too strong and so my coffee sort of tasted like toothpaste with an aftertaste of coffee. Even if the coffee tasted good, which it did, as you might imagine the whole drink itself wasn't ideal. The one good thing is that my wife did enjoy her coffee drink here. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. While I wasn't a big fan of my coffee here, I know they definitely have better stuff. read more

Very good coffee, nice little coffee shop on the Shops of Beverley road. Service is usually almost always good-clean. Welcoming.

The hours get shorter and shorter. The coffee gets dumped out earlier and earlier before closing time. The pastry case is great but it can be nearly empty with random mostly dry pasties on Sundays. They are not consistent with coffee choices. So if you are looking for the favorites no guarantees on any day. After 11 they go to one single style coffee. I used to go every day and sometimes twice. Now maybe once every few weeks because it sucks. read more

The previous woman owner did a poor job of managing this business. Now it has new owners and was hoping for a big improvement. What the heck is going! Place is dirty and they had to remake basic coffee twice and I just left and threw it away. It was coffee - plain coffee. I seriously can't believe what a gem location going to epic waste. read more

Seems to of changed ownership based on changes around shop and employees now working there. Had a middle aged man not know how to make their "cold brew"... I Used to buy their cold brew by the gallon out of the front cooler. Now when asking for it the employees just look at you like you're the one speaking a different language. read more

cute lil coffee shop in mt. lebanon area ! good place to study and do work as they have free wifi that works well, outlets, and a decent amount of tables to sit at. the baristas today had great music taste so i def enjoyed the background music as i studied :-) i ordered an iced lavender latte and they def made a great ratio between the flavor and the latte itself so i highly recommend their lattes with any flavor of your choice. they also had a great selection of pastries and snacks so you def couldn't order a drink without a snack on the side ! read more

Brody's was rude to clerk and she totally forgot to add our lemonades to our order. Very annoying because I wanted the lemonade more than the latte I ordered, they were out of that flavor too btw. NOT a good experience this morning. Don't particularly like any of these coffee shops, but today I was super annoying. I'm surprised that I haven't reviewed Coffee Tree Roasters yet! This local business has multiple locations throughout the Pittsburgh area. I'm not sure offhand how long this particular location has operated, but it's definitely been a good number of years now. Even before I began enjoying (some) coffee beverages, I was a fan of Coffee Tree Roasters. Tea and pastries are also available here, as are flavored water and juice. The specific beverages and snacks rotate and change, of course, but the products have consistently been good ones in my experience. Once I began drinking lattes I also made sure to stop by and order those on occasion as well. I've never been disappointed. Their London Fog latte is quite good, and most recently I took a chance and got a latte with the peach flavoring from their syrup menu. It was even better than I expected, and I might have a new favorite iced beverage to enjoy this summer! Coffee Tree Roasters is overall a sizable coffee shop that serves up great drinks and snacks (with the added bonus of also selling various coffee beans and coffee-related items - don't be afraid to browse the shelves and see what's for sale). And whether we just need a small caffeine boost or we need to "stock up" before hitting the road, my family and I are always glad when we swing by. read more

My thing this summer is going to coffee shops & reading. I'm glad I tried this place out because the coffee is absolutely amazing. Probably my favorite independent coffee shop coffee so far. I ordered an iced cafe caramel and it was so so good. I sat outside to read for a little but it was a Friday evening so the street was pretty crowded and it got kind of loud. Stopped in last Friday while on the hunt for caffeinated goodness. Being new to the area it's been rough finding a coffee shop open past 6pm Mon-Fri. I stumbled across Coffee Tree Roasters. Located in an uptown strip of Mt Lebanon this place is a gem. Service was great and super friendly. I ordered a S'mores Mocha and my wife ordered a rooibos tea. We sat there and enjoyed it as the shop was quiet and cozy. Parking can be a pain, but it's worth it for a stop at this place. read more

As silly as it sounds, we moved to the neighborhood a year ago and my goal was to walk to the Beverly business district and back. Well, one pleasant day the whole family made the mile walk there (I know, not that far BUT THE HILLSSS!). They had a system down for COVID times and everyone properly socially distanced while in line or waiting for their coffee. It's fairly large inside so it's easy to do so. I've never actually been inside here. The baristas were nice and answered my many questions. I'm a total chai snob and hate a really syrupy sweet chai concentrate. They described it as earthy and spicy, which it was. It was a tad too sweet for me, but I added more milk when I got home. I'd just ask for light syrup next time. I will say, I have celiac disease and I think the drink bothered me. Sometimes chai mixes do that, it's no ones fault, just a weird downfall of the disease. Not the businesses fault. I love Italian sodas and was excited to get my son a peach one. He loved it. All baked goods were individually wrapped and ready to just be bought and enjoyed. The Coffee Tree Roasters is the local Pittsburgh coffee chain that spreads joy and caffeine around the Steel City. The shop is small and quaint and cozy. There's plenty of room to sit and relax. They have wonderful gender neutral, all inclusive bathrooms. There's plenty of merch to browse including bottles, mugs, treats, syrups, etc. They have a lot of pastries to choose from. Any type of bread, croissant, sweet, savory, anything. All look delicious. They have some great coffee and tea options. I went with the frozaccino. I've had the mocha and the caramel. Both of them are flawless. So delicious and so refreshing and creamy. I highly recommend. The staff is so kind and helpful. They made us feel welcomed and right at home! read more

They have enough seating inside and a few tables outside as well . Nice and clean. There is a parking spot just behind Bados- the Italian restaurant ( which seemed to be packed on a Saturday night) if you don't find street parking. They have decent choices of hot and cold beverages. We got the cappuccino, the chai latte. a cold pressed (bottled) OJ and a blueberry muffin. The cappuccino was alright - too much froth. The chai latte was the worst we have ever had - like warm and insipid. The muffin was really good - moist and soft . One negative was that they have nothing to warm it up. Stopped in to our local coffee shop on Saturday morning for a Mocha and realized that they sell Oram's Donuts. The Mocha was good and the donuts (and cinnamon rolls) are amazing. So good we had to make a trip all the way up to Orams in Beaver Falls. Great little coffee shop within walking distance on Beverly Road. I've gotta get there more often. This is the second time I have been in this Coffee Tree location. It's in a great location sandwiched between restaurants and cute boutiques. The place has been very clean both times I have been there. They have outdoor seating when its actually warm out. They have a nice display of pastries and friendly staff. I had my usual go to which is a chai tea latte with soy milk. It was tasty. Parking is metered along the street. They look like old meters but you can use coins or a credit card. Since it was a warm day I decided not to opt for coffee but have a ginger green tea instead. I glanced at the desserts in the cold trays and inquired where they were from. I learned that some of them come from Nancy B's in Homestead. Yes, they have their famous chocolate chip peanut butter cookie if you want it. I was full from my lunch so just settled for a drink. They have free WiFi here if you are working. In the back they sell Chemex, various coffees, and various apparatus for pour overs. The tea was very good and i enjoyed it. Next time I'm in the area will sample one of their coffee blends. read more

Coffee is my splurge on a daily basis since I've been WFH over the past few years. We live in the hood and started coming on a regular basis as soon as we settled in. Now I only have tried the iced coffee and drip, but I really like it. This was our intro to Nancy B cookies and the cinnamon scone is really good. I think staff is handling Covid well. read more

I love the coffee tree. I used to work across the street and would pop over daily to get my fix-I miss it so! Making your own coffee in an office building isn't quite the same pick me up. The coffee is delicious and in my experience, the baristas are friendly and always know what they are doing. I would usually get an almond milk latte and it was always so! good! It is really, really difficult to get almond milk to foam properly like cow's milk does, and it usually just comes out full of bubbles and disappointing. (I used to work at starbucks, and I have an espresso machine at home, but I cannot get the almond milk to cooperate, ever.) Here, it comes out rich and creamy every time! I'm jealous of their skills. The chai lattes are good as well, but can be a bit overpoweringly sweet if you go with almond milk, as the milk itself is sweetened. Love the bran muffins (fresh) and oatmeal cakes (packaged) available for sale. The atmosphere is great too, and the location on Beverly Rd makes for a nice outing when the weather is good. read more

I started going here more because when I came a week ago or so, the guy made an absolutely perfect latte (appropriate parts micro foam, steamed milk and espresso). Very recently I came and received my small latte that was mostly all foam and turned into a big ball of foam in the middle and once it was mostly settled, it was only filled half way or so. I am sad to report, there is an insect problem. The muffins and sweets in the glass case are crawling with fruit flies or something similar. When my colleague brought this to the attention of the employee behind the counter, he said "we are doing all we can." So they know about this problem and are still selling these items? CTR has always been one of my favorite coffee shops in Pittsburgh. The coffee is always fresh and strong. Plus they have some cool unique brews from around the world as well as a plethora of teas. The atmosphere and service is always great, but the one thing that puts this place over the top is the hours. Unlike many shops that close at 5-6pm, CTR is often open until 11pm, making it a place I frequent for late night work or meet ups with long lost friends. I live close to here and it has so much potential to be an awesome neighborhood coffee place. The quality of the coffee is always good but literally every time I have been here over the last few months the staff has been unpleasant... apathetic at best and plain rude at worst. It almost seemed like a vibe they were trying to cultivate, and I just don't understand it, as Mt Lebanon is generally such a friendly, family-oriented and welcoming neighborhood.
