This has become one of my favorite coffee shops in the area. Obviously it has to start with great coffee. They get theirs from La Prima Espresso and it shows. If you're not starting with a quality product you're not going to get a quality end product. If I'm treating myself, I really like when the drinks are special and thoughtful, and they are always thinking through the menu with a rotating selection of interesting, often themed drinks that offer something for every taste. I love how they partner with other local businesses including 19 Coffee Company, Pastries A La Carte, and Becca Bakes. In addition to these pastries there are some light bites such as sandwiches available. They have space to feature some local makers of things like jewelry and once I even bought a little painting created by a dog here to support the dog's medical treatment. That's the kind of local establishment you're dealing with and it's why I love them. All of this and I haven't even gotten to how cozy this place is. The decor is thoughtful with lots of room to sit and work or relax. There's a little book nook area, an outdoor patio, and spaces by the window where you can people watch out Brookline Blvd. The people are always super nice. It's a great choice for your neighborhood coffee shop. read more

This place looks small but actually is way bigger than meets the eye. They have probably 5 tables inside as well as a couch seating area right when you walk in. They have some merch as well as La Prima beans for sale, as that's what they sell here. Then they also have a back patio which was a fun cute surprise with a few tables! As far as standing room goes, it's cramped while you wait for coffee so I couldn't imagine if this place was super busy. The coffee is good quality, as La Prima is. But it wasn't real strong. Could be the espresso machine itself or how they grind/brew here. Personal preference I guess. I got an iced latte, with caramel and oat milk. It had a little too much ice in it, which watered it down quickly but overall still way better than a chain place! This is a solid choice if you're in the neighborhood and always nice to support the little guys! There is street parking right on the boulevard. read more

We went here on a Saturday morning and had a great experience. The barista was very friendly and made great recommendations. We got speciality lattes and breakfast sandwiches. Both were very good, but the breakfast sandwiches might be some of the best in town! The place was clean and the atmosphere was really nice. The drink was good, and I especially loved the porch area. The welcome wasn't very warm but not bad either. I plan to visit again and update my review after my second experience. I have visited this place three more times, and unfortunately I noticed a clear difference in how customers are treated. The friendliness and attitude of the staff seem to change depending on the person. In my last visits, no one even greeted me, while many other customers were warmly welcomed. I've been to most coffee shops within 20 miles of Pittsburgh and most of them I would have no problem with a return visit, but I won't be going back here. To make sure I compare all coffee shops the same I get a 12 ounce latte with whole milk everywhere I go. That way you can't hide behind the sugar. Their sugary drinks could be really good. One of my new fav coffee places in Pittsburgh! I love their lattes. I recommend their homemade honey latte. It's a settle sweetness that I really enjoyed. This coffee shop also serves food. There are plenty of tables and couches for seating and free WiFi. When it's nice out, check out the back patio! They also sell jewelry, art, and books from local small businesses. Since this place was rated among the top 5 coffee places in Pittsburgh, I decided to give this place a try. Needless to say, they have a great selection of drinks to choose from and their coffee is great. Plenty of street parking along the coffee shop and if you're up for a stroll, there's stores up and down the strip. Staff are extremely friendly and the ambience is chill. It's so spacious inside and they have outdoor (front and back) seating as well. Unfortunately, there's an incident here w/ previous customers and their dogs so they do not allow dogs on the back patio nor inside. If you have furry friends, you can only sit in front of the shop. Bummer. Other than that, will be back here the next time I'm back in PA. read more

I saw great reviews of this place so I wanted to give it a try. The first great thing-parking. There was parking right in front and there are multiple spots available. It is a quiet, cozy shop. There are tables for studying and a few couches. There's also a printer you can use. The shop is filled with books to read as well as some local custom jewelry, some hot sauces, mugs, and glassware to peruse. There is whole bean coffee available for purchase. I was greeted immediately and my order came out quick. I ordered a regular latte and it was good! Strong enough, not too milky. I also ordered the chorizo, potato, egg, cheese burrito which was hot and delicious. Overall, I'm a fan! Definitely would come back to study or get work done. read more

I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for our morning coffees. Every Sunday we try to hit up a new local coffee shop and on this day we decided on 802 Bean Company. Since this location isn't open on Sundays we have actually been here twice, once on a Saturday and then today, a Wednesday. 802 Bean Company is located right on Brookline Blvd and is decent sized inside. They have a lounge type area with comfortable seating and then 2 four tops and 2 two tops as well. Finally there is a sign for their outdoor patio but I have yet to see it. For our drinks on this morning I decided to go with one of their holiday specials, a large eggnog latte while my wife went with a small gingerbread latte. Then we also ordered a Madsen donut since we really enjoyed it on our last visit and then a croissant bacon breakfast sandwich to split. After about a 5 minute wait we had our food and drinks and were out the door. I first tried the latte and was happy with it. It really did taste like eggnog, so basically some cinnamon and nutmeg. After that I tried the donut which was as good as I remembered. It was a cakey donut which was light and fluffy and then the icing on top was good without being overly sweet. Last but not least was the croissant sandwich which was solid. It was warm and had great flavors from the croissant, cheese and bacon. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and i enjoyed our lattes as well as the food. read more

On a scale of documentaries to novels, 802 Bean Company is a Sophie Kinsella chicklit book -- delightful in every way. 802 Bean Company offers the feeling of casual luxury with its high and gold ceilings, cozy seating, and thoughtful decor. While it's clearly a coffee shop, they also offer a decent menu of savory and sweet items. I ordered a specialty drink (written on their chalkboard outside): a butterscotch cold brew with vanilla cold creme, and it was the perfect indulgence from my normal black coffee. Paid parking is available along the boulevard; however, you could probably park on the street that runs parallel if you don't mind a short stroll (there is an uphill involved). read more

Such a cute place! This place has a local feeling too it, almost like a Luke's fro Gilmore girls but the coffee shop version. All barista are so sweet and helpful. I went to 802 Bean Company a few times now and I have never been disappointed. I can easily make coffee at home but now more than ever we should be supporting local businesses especially when they make coffee this delicious. During my last visit I got an iced caramel latte and it was perfectly sweetened by the flavoring so no need to add sugar/sweetener. The iced lattes come in one size which was perfect for me. They have altered their doorway to accommodate walk up orders which you can do or you can just pick up an online order. If you want to sit and enjoy your coffee, there is a bench right outside of the shop. I have been inside prior to the pandemic and it is a very well kept, welcoming environment. I am glad local businesses like 802 Bean Company have found ways to continue to serve the community and stay open during difficult times. read more

This is a really cute coffee shops right I. The middle of Brookline Blvd. There is plenty of metered parking right in front and a number of businesses in walking distance (and the library). I got the gingerbread latte, which had a great gingerbread taste but was missing any sweet flavor. They have bagels and small bites available. I will go again to try a different flavor. read more

Decided to finally stop in during a cold morning walk and I am so glad I did! I am not one for flavored coffees or fancy drinks and generally stick to an easy peasy americano (espresso and water). Well... The espresso at 802 Bean Company is either amazing or there's something in the water. My americano was perfect. It didn't taste 'burnt' like some large chain coffee shops. The shop itself is cute with small tables where I saw several patrons sitting and reading papers or having coffee with friends. There is a small selection of baked goods and grab and go items. The coffee selection is impressive with several types and flavors of both hot and iced coffees. I was surprised to even see a cortado on the menu! (Shout out to my Tampa friends!) We were back in town during the holiday after being gone around 20 years. Walking down Brookline Blvd, on a snowy cold Saturday - we decided to stop at 802 Bean Company for a coffee to warm up. We couldn't have picked a better place! We walked in close to closing time, but the hostess (which we found out was the new owner) was most gracious and accommodating. It is a homey & comfy place, free WiFi & great selection of coffees & teas. We found out they are adding to the food menu after the first of the year. It was great to see a new business in the "old neighborhood " doing well. The next time we're in town, we will make it a point to stop back in to enjoy a latte & reminisce about our old stomping grounds! read more
