This is the spot. At the corner of Bigham and Virginia, high atop Mount Washington neighborhood of Pittsburgh sits the cute independent small neighborhood business of Café Cravings Gourmet Coffee Shop-Pittsburgh Stop by for a seasonal beverage - the espresso and lattes or drip coffee, smoothies, frappes, or something from the cooler. Have a biscotti, pastry from the case, or a treat from the shelf. Order a sandwich: breakfast, deli, or panini. There's several on the menu, and it's customizable! It's a warm friendly welcoming place to visit!! Tip: maybe carpool or walk this little business area can be booming!

Nice stop in mount Washington by Chatham village. Service was quick and breakfast options were good. This was a busy place and you can tell it's a preferred place for congregation and drinks locally. Walkability is great, I'd drop by again.

Very good coffee and expressive-based drinks, hot or cold. Very cute, bohemian decor. Cozy neighborhood coffee house!

Very cute full-service coffee shop. Excellent customer service. Very large selection of offerings, both food and beverages. At the corner of Virgina and Bigham. You might drive right by it because the outside blends in to its surroundings. That would be a mistake. Stop and give this independent some love!

First of all the ambiance the people and young lady that works up front not sure if she is the owner but she obviously cares about her patrons the coffee and service. We came in from out of town for a festival and felt very welcomed . The specialty drinks ( Banana Foster and Creamy Caramel) some of the best coffee drinks I have had in a long time . Too bad I had to go 700 miles to get it lol

A quaint, neighborhood coffee shop. The green tea chiller is absolutely fantastic and the women who work there are great people. When I come back to Pittsburgh, this will definitely be a stop. Thank y'all!

Sometimes extraordinary service prompts an updated review. I have loved Cafe Cravings over the years, but during the Pandemic, their service and sense of community shines even more. On top of that, the food and drink are the best, they use the freshest ingredients. I tried their Sunday Dinner yesterday, and it was delightful. Make sure you RSVP by 11 am on Saturday so they can plan. Over the years they have been so friendly and welcoming, I hope you get more chances to visit, too.

Adorable little coffee shop in Mount Washington. We stopped here before heading to brunch because I was craving a crafted coffee. The shop's menu is impressive considering the cozy size. The atmosphere is very beatnik meets eclectic. The brick exterior and tree lines sidewalks reminds you of simpler times in a small town neighborhood. It's so perfect it should be in every town. I ordered a French Vanilla Cappuccino. The pricing was in line with large chains but I am much happier spending it at a shop such as this than any of those establishments. We sat and sipped our coffees and people watched. Seems they have their fair share of regulars. One man came in with his French Bulldog and enjoyed his coffee while studying the morning paper. The dog was well behaved and oh so cute. I was a little surprised he was allowed inside but it certainly didn't bother me. They had many food items that looked and sounded quite good, but we were going to brunch afterwards so we just enjoyed our drinks. My only, and small complaint, would be I wish they had mugs to drink from. The paper cups are great if you're on the go, but to sit and drink there I would have preferred a mug. However, great shop, love supporting local shops such as this.

Great little coffee shop that serves bagels, breakfast sandwiches and sandwiches or paninis for lunch. The sign posted indicated Boars Heads meats. It was late morning and just stopped in for a tea and bagel. Fresh bagel was great and tea was wonderful on a cold snowy morning.

Charming neighborhood gem for breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon drink. If you're a regular, the staff will know your name and order. Come early if you want a baked good, as everything but the croissants and biscotti seems to go quickly on the weekends. Can recommend the paninis as hot and filling (the potato chips that come with them are thicker than most but otherwise unremarkable). Fair prices and friendly staff. Flat entrance if I remember correctly, but the bathroom is not wheelchair accessible.

Really cool little neighborhood coffee place where you can get breakfast and different types of yummy coffee. Hung out for a little while to warm up and enjoy my chai latte. This place is dog friendly which is a huge plus

You like traditional goto, must have, sandwich from Pittsburgh? If you do, this place is for you…read more This place was started by Joe Primanti in 1933 to feed shift workers from the local warehouses (coal and iron) and railroads. They are known for big sandwiches which now includes fries and cole slaw. The sandwiches provided value to workers...who were looking for a place to feed themselves to keep their energy up for a long shift. When you sit at the bar and you can only imagine the workers that sat here to feed themselves with what little they had. They found a sandwich between two pieces of soft Italian bread with a good balance of meat, cheese, cole slaw and fries...think energy and value. The history here is real and intense. Would I rate this as a culinary destination? Not particularly but I would say it's a must see to be part of US history as the town righted itself and came to life. The sandwich? I had the pastrami with cole slaw, egg, fries and tomato on Italian bread. Remarkably, the sandwich was light...despite it sounding heavy. The cabbage and tomatoes bring a great balance to the sandwich which makes it messy and remarkably light. Be prepared to get messy..so eat fast! I am probably talking too much about the sandwich...just go try it. The food is probably a 3.5 but it gets the extra .5 for the amazing history there. The service was great...well educated on the product, accommodating in every way. If you are in Pittsburgh, this is a must try.

I had to go across the street to use the restroom because theirs were nasty. It required going down a steep set of stairs, and the women's bathroom floor was wet. There was also a bucket catching brown water dripping from somewhere, which was pretty concerning. The wings and onion rings were just average and didn't really stand out. There are newer locations of this restaurant that I'd recommend instead. Based on my experience, you'll likely have a much better overall visit at one of those locations

The pastrami and cheese is very solid, especially for $10, where you get a fair amount of meat and fries. Of course, most of it is coleslaw, but again for the price, I'm not surprised. You have to try one of the signature sandwiches (various meats topped with coleslaw and fries and amazing, thick bread). Something to note is that this isn't a creamy coleslaw. In fact, on its own it doesn't have much flavor (mostly just pepper) but it somehow pairs well with the sandwich. The downside to this location is that they aren't exactly the best at table turnover/cleaning tables and the restaurant itself doesn't feel spotless (like some other locations do). But in a way, it kind of adds to the vibe of the place. There are several parking garages and also on street parking nearby. Nice that it has late hours most evenings (since a lot of downtown restaurants seem to close fairly early). Definitely worth a visit.

We stopped by while walking around the Strip District looking for a quick lunch. During lunch service, you order at the kiosk, find a seat, and clean up after yourself, which makes for a casual and easy experience. Food: The tomato sauce here is probably some of the best red sauce I've had in a long time. We ordered the Caprese Panzanella, meatballs, crispy potatoes, and spaghetti with red sauce. Everything was delicious, but the salad completely stole the show for me. It was packed with fresh ingredients, bright flavors, and so many different textures that worked perfectly together. Every dish tasted fresh, simple, and executed well. Service: For lunch, you're mostly taking care of yourself, but the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming whenever we interacted with them. This is one of those places that doesn't need a long review because you really just need to try it for yourself. I'd absolutely recommend stopping by if you're visiting Pittsburgh for either lunch or dinner. Fresh ingredients, great flavors, and a fun atmosphere. Now, I am going to take you on a journey just like the books Belle read so strap in. We had a 5:45 PM reservation, and even arrived a few minutes early. The hostess/employee (I don't want to assume positions) took me upstairs for a table right by the window, which will be an awesome view when the construction finishes. It was also a beautiful sight of that part of the city as-is. When I was seated, I was one of a few tables seated. It was not full or even busy at that time. Also, as we were seated, we were given waters. My friend joined me about 5-7 minutes after the reservation time. We then ordered our drinks at about 6:00/6:05 PM. From there, we waited and did not meet our waiter, who will be referred to as sweet baby angel Max from here on out, until about 6:20 PM. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees at around this time. Our orders had some modifications but nothing major. By this time, many more tables were seated upstairs and others seemingly received their alcoholic drinks and even appetizers by the time we received only our drinks around 6:30-6:40. Our drinks were big, too, which is great, but that also meant we had to drink them a little more quickly due to the time constraints with the show. We were enjoying ourselves but noticed multiple more tables receiving not only their drinks and apps but also their entrees. Once 6:55 came, we had to tell sweet baby angel Max about our predicament. I will be honest and say we suggested for our drinks to be comped at least - not only for the wait and lack of courtesy with everyone else receiving their items before us despite our arrival and reservation time, but for the fact that we would have maybe 15 minutes to eat, finish our drinks, pay, take our food back to our cars, and make curtain time. What sweet baby angel Max did next flabbered our gasts -- he said not only will our drinks be comped but our whole meal will be comped. He also helped pack our food and kept it in the back so we didn't have to worry about going back to our cars. We made sure to tip him with all we had! We are so glad we did because when we returned after the show, he had the kitchen remake the food and kept it warm for us. When you go to The Eagle, ask for sweet baby angel Max and you will not be disappointed with him, the service, or the food. Because even when they may mess up? The Eagle gets it right with their classy attitude and positive treatment of their customers. You definitely have multiple return customers just from this encounter. Thank you!!!
