Cutting through Morningside, we stumbled across this small cafe. Saw a lot of locals around so I thought it might be worth a try. I didn't get coffee but got a couple of croissants. The pistachio one was delicious. Looking to come back and try the Crepe Cake in the future.

We stopped by Ka-Fair because they were open late yesterday for the Boonseek food truck. It's an adorable little spot located in Morningside. The inside is on the smaller side and very cozy. There's a couple of small tables, a couch with a couple of chairs, and a long bench on the right side of the wall. Their logo features an owl and so there's cute little owl decor everywhere. We opted to get a couple of smoothies along with boba and Thai iced coffee. It was all really good and I loved my mango smoothie and tasted so fresh. I really want to come back soon and get some of their food. Their crepe cake looks tasty and delicious! The staff seem to know everyone and are very friendly. You order at the counter and they bring everything to you.

The crepe cake was delicious and the ladies that work there are very kind! Would absolutely recommend!

Food Glorious Food is a neighborhood bakery that makes all foods from scratch and offers breakfast,…read morelunch, sweets, and catering. The menu includes savory foods (e.g., quiches, sandwiches, and pizzas), sweet foods (e.g., cakes, pies, cookies, muffins, and strudels). I was a customer here one time. An employee promptly and kindly greeted me, took my order and payment, and handed over my foods. Some indoor and outdoor seating was available, but I took my foods home. Here are my ratings for them: Sour-cream apple pie - 3.5 stars - This pie was mini-sized. I liked the crust. Neither my husband nor I liked the sour cream. We prefer plain apple. Derby pie - 4.5 stars - This mini pie contained dark chocolate and walnut. I liked the crust and the filling. Pecan pie - 4.5 stars - I liked the crust and the pecan filling of this mini pie. Asparagus-Swiss quiche - 3.5 stars - I bought one slice of this quiche. It tasted alright. Snickerdoodle cookie - 4.5 stars - This snickerdoodle cookie tasted pretty good. Cinnamon roll - 4.5 stars - This cinnamon roll was a large size, and I liked the amount of cinnamon and frosting. The total price was $32.

Staff is super nice here too, we caught them on a baking day and they still let us grab some goodies. The inside is super cute. I definitely need to come here regularly.

Honestly nothing too special, and quite a bit more expensive than at other places in the city and in the area. The frosting was pretty good, pretty rich, but the brownie itself was fairly dry. Nothing really special about it. Portion was pretty good though. I may come back to try a few other items, but I just didn't find this place all that special.

My husband got the smashburger and I got the Yinzer salad. The burger was probably one of the best ever, seriously. My salad was delicious & I loved their ranch dressing. However, after yesterday's experience, it is doubtful that I will be returning, nor will the friend who joined me. When ordering the "Hotlicks" sandwich, I politely asked if it could be grilled, as the last two times I received it as a cold sandwich, which was still good. The young man taking my order looked perplexed, so I explained it would be like a grilled cheese sandwich with the addition of the veggies. Later, while sitting at our table, the owner-Brian Perkarcik, approached to ask about the order. When I mentioned that my lunch was very good and previous orders were served as a cold sandwich, he argued with me, raising his voice, and stating that these are always grilled. I explained that the past two times they were not. I actually thought he might be joking and giving me a hard time. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and inquired if he was having a bad day. He responded in a raised voice while walking away from my table "What I don't need is someone telling me how to make a grilled cheese sandwich!" I was absolutely dumbfounded by the interaction and how ridiculous the situation was. Confronting and raising your voice at a regular customer over a simple request is unacceptable and deeply disappointing. Please note that the restaurant was very busy so I would think that this was uncomfortable for other nearby patrons. I hope they take this feedback constructively to improve how to communicate kindly with their customers in the future. I have always found the staff to be lovely, but this experience with the owner was not. It was a very unpleasant experience and quite unnecessary. The saying "It's not what you say. It's how you say it" holds true in this situation.
