Shibam is a favorite repeated spot for me. I love this spot for a grab and go coffee or to sit and chat/ get some work done. The service is quick, and they are super kind and attentive. They are my favorite spot for a brown sugar shaken espresso, and their pastries are truly one of a kind.
Shibam is the meetup place for me! Meeting someone for the first time? Shibam! A friend is visiting from out of town? Shibam! They've never missed. From the coffee to the tea to desserts, they're all worth a try!
Went to see what all the hype about was, and can happily say it's worth it! The pistachio latte, though expensive, was absolutely delicious. The pistachio flavor was nice and strong, a great balance of nuttiness and sweetness. Make sure to mix it up a lot, and try not to finish it in five minutes like I did! Pastries and cakes are also really good looking. These style of pastries are traditionally quite sweet, so make sure to be aware, but the flavors are some of my favorite so still try them! Overall great spot and I want more late night coffee shops like this one with a nice, relaxed atmosphere.
Wonderful reasonably new coffee shop! I think there's a chain of these spots up in Michigan, but the first one in the Burgh. It is Yemeni/Arab style coffee as well as many great sweet treats. I got to try the milk cake, muffawar coffee, and cherry Danish. All of it was very nice. The milk cake, which I'm pretty sure is not the most traditional, was still quite good. Definitely very sweet and it balances well with the coffee. Nice caramel type topping as well. The cherry Danish was also really nice. The dough was so good. Loads of cherries and super super sweet. Definitely a nice treat, a good portion, although again, not the most traditional. Finally, I got to try some of the coffee. It was excellent. The muffawar coffee is traditional Yemeni coffee. It's pretty smooth, tiny hints of spice but balanced by sweetness. The price was excellent for the portion and quality. I would very highly recommend trying it, or any other authentic Yemeni coffee they make!
I am so sad to give this a 3 star as every time I have visited here, it was so great and lovely. We ordered a mango matcha iced and a pistachio latte iced with oat milk. I don't understand why the pistachio has so much hype when it was so meh tasting and definitely more milky than I thought it would be. I feel like it just sat in layers and didn't blend nicely. The mango matcha is such a sad situation that I don't understand why it tasted like a nasty Dunkin matcha. It wasn't mixed properly, it was chalky tasting and the mango puree was probably the saving grace for this drink. I definitely won't be back in a hurry here as I was so disappointed and I'm still questioning why the drinks costed so much more than I could have gotten from another coffee shop. It is expensive but why is it much more than when I was there there? I skipped the food this trip but I will definitely be checking out other coffee shops near by instead of going here which saddens me as I really did love this shop. For the price you pay, unless it's your first time there or you don't care for the prices, I would skip here. Service was lovely though and it's pretty inside but that's about it.
Very cool Yemeni coffee shop in Oakland. The indoor decor is pretty and includes some interesting facts about Yemen - very cool. I got the Mufawar coffee and it was a delicious. Coffee and cream with a subtle cardamom flavor. I did not try any of the pastries, but they looked delicious in the case!
This is a beautiful coffee shop! Clean and expertly designed with tons of seating. There are a shortage of outlets so plan to arrive early to grab a good spot. There's also no parking so you'll need to brave the streets of N. Oakland. Plan ahead. I ordered the adani chai, which is a traditional Yemeni tea iced with half sweetness. Super tasty and unique from traditional Indian chai. Much more mild and subtle profile but just as refreshing. The drinks are the tip of the iceberg here, the cheesecakes and pastries look to die for! Staff was friendly and responsive to auest
We stopped by on Sunday in the afternoon and had no issues getting a table. The inside isn't super big but it's bright and really cute. There's a bunch of small tables available. You order at the counter and get a buzzer that lets you know when your order is ready. My pistachio latte was delicious. I thought the date bread was fine but loved the saffron milk cake. I do wish they had some savory options for food because everything I saw was sweet.
Nice shop close to campus with middle eastern amazing coffee/bakery/pastry. They have a bunch of fresh-made pastries and other items for quick grab and go, but they make drinks fresh to order. Very knowledgeable staff and prices are reasonable. It's a nice place to study or just enjoy a pastry and coffee.
I stopped by here a couple of Sundays ago with my family for our morning coffee. Every weekend we try to hit up a new local coffee shop, and on this morning it happened to be Shibam Coffee. We had actually noticed this coffee shop before while getting takeout nearby but had not had a chance to make it back until now. The inside of this shop is bright and interesting, with white tiled floors throughout and lots of light fixtures. Next to the counter where you order, they have a large display cooler filled with delicious looking baked goods. I noticed that many of them featured pistachio, so when I ordered my coffee I made sure to go with a pistachio latte. My wife chose a cookie butter latte. When we arrived, all 16 of the two top tables were taken, so the shop was incredibly busy. Because of that, our wait for coffee was a bit longer than usual, but it was completely understandable. My coffee ended up being good, with a bit of sweetness up front, followed by the earthiness of the pistachio, and finishing with a smooth coffee flavor. My wife also enjoyed her cookie butter latte, especially the cookie butter flavor itself. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our coffees, and I would definitely be interested in trying some of their baked goods as well.
literally the best cafe spot for ambiance and flavor that i've been to in my 2 years of living in pittsburgh. this cafe recently opened up this year and i finally got to try it. i'm not lying when it took me about 15 minutes to pick my order. i walked in with my friend on a busy Tuesday afternoon with all the tables and chairs occupied by people studying, reading, and working on their laptops. i just knew this was the spot to be doing all of that. we ended up with an iced pumpkin spice latte and a brown sugar shaken espresso. both were sooo flavorful on top of the rich espresso used. i wanted to try everything on the menu! the place is well lit with cute decorations, signs, and historical decor about Yemen culture which is super cool.

It was lovely and aromatic, with the cinnamon coming through well. It came out quite hot, so I let it sit for a while beforehand. Seeing the milk cakes others posted, I caved and ordered one. While I saw others post of pistachio and other flavors, they had the Biscoff only on my visit. It's a sizable piece and runs $8. Lovely spot. Definitely recommend and a good spot to do a bit of work or catch up with friends. Plenty of space.
Shibam latte was abundantly spiced and tasted coconutty to me. It was $8.67 tho The coffee flavor blended well and wasnt too milky

This place is a national chain. That should tell you everything you need to know without going any further. Nonetheless, I will list out the ways in which I think you might have a better experience going to another national chain ANY other national coffee chain, take your pick. I came here for the first time since the Pittsburgh location is within walking distance from my apartment. I was hoping to order a coffee and sit with my laptop for the afternoon on a weekday. In checking out the online menu before my visit, I discovered that Shibam is a national chain with many locations and its own app for ordering. In the app, the iced drinks appear to be served in glass, but in-person, they are not. Their house-branded plastic cups are hard to sip from. I couldn't get a decent sip of my iced latte without sounding like a wet-vac. How is the price? Is the quality worth it? Quick answer: no and no. I paid $8.67 for their flagship iced latte, The Shibam. It was prepared quickly since the shop was not busy. I couldn't even contemplate a pastry because except for the $3+ croissant, every offering was pricey. Add those numbers together, with an iced latte and a $8.10 "milk cake," for example, that's over $16, not to mention the app shoves the tip option in your face every step of checkout. My latte was weirdly separated (see photo) and took awhile to come together as a cohesive drink. Lastly, my lid was not fully applied to my cup when it was left on the pick-up shelf at the back of the shop by the barista. What can I say about the shop's interior? Too bright, too loud. I would describe it as hospital-chic. The floors are white, the tables are fake Carrara marble, and most of the walls an antiseptic gray with a handful of cultural motifs thrown in for good measure. Only the caning on the chairs add the only form of visual interest; everything else is as special as a mini-mall. The place echoes like the Grand Canyon. In other words, it's not a discreet spot to hold your spy meetings with your cadre because every word can be heard 'round the world. Yeesh. Final verdict: save your money and go elsewhere. I couldn't finish my $8 iced latte. read more

Shibam has one location in PA and it's right here in Pittsburgh. Don't let the shy corner fool you. Come inside and let your eyes drink in the white tile with gold decoration and smell the delicious scent of coffee and spices. Then take a long look at the dessert case. They have honeycomb (cream cheese bubble bread), cakes, savory hand pies and more. I finally tried their honeycomb and it really is delicious warmed up with honey drizzled on top. In Ohio, I tried their house iced latte and it's so good. read more

My friend and I went for a cafe time at 9pm on a Friday night and I found out the that the food is over the top. I haven't tasted such a delicious coffee in a long time. This hit the spot. I also loved the Pistachio Milk cake. It's self service, so it's pretty fast! Ambiance is cool & makes you feel like you are in a different country! It is usually busy and that's because of how awesome it is! Only complaint is parking when it's super busy. I highly recommend! read more
This new shop is very busy but also worth a visit! It just may be better for takeout. The coffees are typically light or medium Roasted and the iced drinks are inventive. The desserts are also very tasty, and I recommend the milk cake! read more

Nice bright space right on centre with late night hours Beautiful looking creamy cakes and pastries And they have Dubai chocolate bars If you don't know or have not yet tried this crunchy chocolatey treat it's all the rage these days. This cafe is an amazing place to work in with plenty of natural lighting and comfortable seating. The drinks were on the sweeter side and not to my taste but I enjoyed the desserts. The workers were kind and the overall experience was great. read more
This cafe is great! They're serving coffee and tea that is new in PGH! Their pistachio latte and cookie butter/lotus latte are so so good! They also have a lot of delicious teas that have beautiful cardamom flavor. Their menu is so big, I want to try everything. I went when they first opened and didn't try the sweets but I definitely want to come back. The inside is really beautiful and newly renovated. The staff is also super fun and nice too. Their tea and coffee come in a variety of sizes, offering both single and kettle servings, which is unique, but also really cool for a group setting, can grab a kettle and all share! In addition to their hot drinks, they have a refresher menu with cool flavors!!! They also have pastries like their signature honeycomb and sabaya pastries! Tried... This is hands down the most delicious coffee I've ever had in my life, incredible food options as well - the atmosphere is STUNNING and serene with beautiful seating options but most of all - every single employee of this establishment is the KINDEST individual, every single day. The service is stellar and it really feels like a home away from home for me when I need a place to get out of the house (newly post-partum over here) - thank you, Shibam, you are amazing. read more

Such a nice little cafe in north o! The matcha late tastes like a good quality matcha. I liked how you could do any flavor combination for the mojito. The honeycomb pastry was good as well! There was a large selection of milk cakes that I would love to try another day. Very nice interior and great for a study spot as well. read more

The inside is so stunning with its huge windows and appliqués everywhere. I order the lotus latte because I'm obsessed with cookie butter and it was delicious. Be aware that it is very sweet as is the nature of cookie butter. This is a great spot for meeting friends or doing work. They have their wifi password on the counter. read more
Checked out this space and I am OBSESSED. Not only is it so bright, welcoming, chic, and stunning, but the service is amazing and the drinks are incredible! They offer a list of authentic Yemeni options, as well as classic coffees. My favorite was the pistachio iced latte and dragonfruit refresher! read more
This place has some really good coffee drinks and has Dubai chocolate. The Dubai chocolate was really good and very sweet! The space is big and open and has plenty of tables. The service was quick and easy. The parking isn't that great since it's street parking. read more
I was so excited to finally be able to try this business one Monday morning! Parking is available on the street and isn't too difficult to secure, depending on the time of day. The inside is decorated beautifully with warm wood tones and lighting, plenty of seating, and a large case of baked goods. I went with the signature Shibam latte iced and a Ferraro milk cake to go. At first, I thought the latte was a little pricey, until it was presented to me. The drink was served in a large glass and was absolutely stunning. I really appreciated the fact that you have the ability to customize the sugar level of the drink. I opted for less sweet and it came out perfect. The milk cake was also a little expensive (~$8) but definitely delivered on taste and quality. It reminded me of tres leches which is one of my favorite desserts! The staff here are friendly and they work to get your order out quickly. They have public bathrooms available that are clean and spacious. Can't wait to make a stop back when I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Good place to stop and take a break. I was unfamiliar with Yemeni drinks/everything so I decided to give it a try and see what they're all about. They had great looking milk cakes, I got the Ferrero one, and since I'm not a big coffee fan I went for the iced adani. Honestly I didn't like it at first but by the 10th sip it tasted better and better lol good service, nothing wrong with my order, as for ambiance if one person is talking, everyone will be able to hear their whole conversation but with everyone chatting it's no big deal. Clean and cute, would come back. read more
