round 2: gets a little loud but such a cute vibey date place. holding hands with the most beautiful girl in the world, drinking our coffee in very pretty tall mugs, i couldn't ask for anything more in life. this moment was very very very happy and i love my girlfriend so so much.

Wonderful cafe in squirrel hill perfect for a drink on the go or a space to get work done. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside on the patio. The tables are arranged for two people per table but there was lots of availability even when I went on a busy Saturday. There were also several outlets in case you needed to charge your devices. The menu had lots of drink options including smoothies, coffee, and teas. There was also more food options than I expected! They had pastries, cookies, bagels, scones, and more. The staff was very friendly and made nice small talk while I was ordering my drink. The drink came out quickly tasted wonderful. I got the cappuccino mocha which was sweet and had lots of foam. Overall a great cafe in squirrel hill!

I can't believe I haven't been in here before after so many years of living here! I always thought it was a restaurant but it actually is a cafe. They have a large menu of drinks. I had a chai latte with oat milk and my partner had an espresso drink. He said it was ok. I think my chai latte was ok too, nothing to write home about. It was overly milky and there wasn't a strong chai flavor. It's cute and rustic inside here and is a good place to have a chat or do some work during the day. I'm not quite sure if they have food though. Service was fine but it seemed like only one person worked here.

We only grabbed a quick coffee to go, but the space was very cute and I appreciated the outdoor patio seating.

Carrot juice and strawberry smoothie (half-gone)

Stopped in to this long-time Squirrel Hill favorite for a smoothie the other day. Who knew the had smoothies?! It was a hot afternoon so I was excited at the prospect of something fruity and refreshing. Alas, the told me they they were out of all juice options aside from carrot. Then they were out of blueberries, so I went with strawberry. A carrot-strawberry smoothie with a touch of yogurt? Can't say I have ever seen or drank something like this before. It was pretty good actually, not very sweet but refreshing still. They also put real carrot and real frozen strawberries in it. A bit small for $6 though. I was definitely intrigued by the novelty but likely will go elsewhere the next time I crave a smoothie because this cafe was not well stocked.

If you want a really good cup of tea with a delicious pastry 61C has what you want. Coffee lovers rejoice as well because this is coffee brewed as it's meant to be. Relaxing little spot in the heart of Squirrel Hill. It's kinda small and cozy so sometimes it gets packed and cramped. When it's busy, it's worth the wait

We have been going here for over 20 years and it's still awesome and the coffee is so good - always consistent. Rose latte is a must try.

The "barista" is a complete jerk who berates you for a simple order. Never again. And the coffee wasn't too good.

BEST SMASHBURGER IN PITTSBURGH…read more It would be hard to convince me otherwise. As soon as you step into the unassuming, corner burger spot, you feel instantly teleported into a retro spot. The colors, dining furniture, even the menu transports you back in time and feels so cozy. Order at the front with the cashier and drinks are bottled in the cooler next to it. Very small dining room but they are some tables outside. Street parking is pretty available outside and fries are a must. You truly can't do better than this!

I even talked to one of them while he was on break for a while. They seem like they really like to be there and enjoy their job. I ordered a cheeseburger with everything minus pickles, chili cheese hotdog with mustard and onions and some french fries and a chocolate shake..... don't judge me lol. It's a smash burger so if you're hungry, maybe get a double the onions that come with it are grilled, which was a nice surprise and the sauce they put on the burger was really good. The hotdog had a nice snap to it which I don't care either way, but I know some people are big on that the chili had no beans which is the only way to have it when it comes to a hotdog or french fries and it's made by the local restaurant up the street brothMonger. Everything is made fresh to order even the fries. And the chocolate milkshake was made with actual chocolate ice cream same with vanilla and strawberry. I'll definitely be back to try the onion rings because they looked delicious and served with ranch from a local spot.

There was a friendly gal at the door taking names and numbers. I could hardly believe the wait time but decided to put down my name and do a little window shopping during the wait. We were eventually called and texted to let us know our table was ready. Our table was in the very back corner, next to a group of girls loudly talking about their drunken escapades the night before. It was entertaining to say the least. Our server was super friendly and accommodating to dietary restrictions/modifications. I ordered a Turkish Benedict on gluten free toast.... So. Good. Amazing flavors. My daughter got the croissant avocado toast which she loved. I also got a pistachio latte and was pleasantly surprised to see the used pistachio butter and not a syrup. It was lovely. I had to keep my child from drinking it all! While the wait was long, it was definitely worth it. The space is smaller than I imagined. The food came out fast for how packed it was. The restaurant was crowded, which says a lot about how good the food and service are. Everything we ordered was fresh, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious. I'd happily come back again.

Everything from the sandwiches to the scones to the sweets were tasty. They weren't the fanciest I've experienced at afternoon tea but they were good! That being said, they advertise it as high tea which is NOT correct. That's an entirely different thing (more of a supper) and is not interchangeable with "afternoon tea." What they have here is afternoon tea and I wish they would advertise it as such. Aside from that pet peeve of mine, using the wrong terminology, it's a nice spot and I would recommend it if you're in the area.

You get a perfect 19th century setting, which makes for the perfect ambiance. For the tea, I had green tea and hot cinnamon, and both were excellent! The cinnamon takes the cake for best tea with excellent flavor, especially with the hints or orange. Our food was delectable. The pimento cheese sandwich and crostini were fantastic. The chicken salad stuffed gouger was divine. The scones were the best I've had. Crunchy on the outside, while warm and fluffy in the middle. I could have eaten ten of the cinnamon scones. Excellent cheesecake and cream puff. The star of the show was chocolate mousse on a pecan crust. Just yum!!! Phenomenal service, tea, and food made for a wonderful afternoon high tea!! We will be back.

In truth,…read moreit's such a favorite of mine that I headed there straight from the airport on my most recent visit. The cool vibe restaurant is tucked away up a short flight of stairs on Filbert Street. It gives the place a cozy, hideaway feel with brick walls and murals. It's pretty popular, so you might have to wait a few minutes for a table, but it moves pretty quick. The menu focuses heavily on crepes and French toast, and they do both very well. I went for a savory crepe that was loaded with eggs and topped with a rich sauce and diced vegetables. It came with a side of fresh fruit which was a nice touch. We also ordered a sweet crepe to share. It was beautifully presented with chocolate drizzle, berry sauce, and a massive pile of whipped cream. The coffee is solid too. Verdict: This is a consistent and reliable brunch spot. It was the perfect way to kick off my trip. I will definitely be back next time I am in town.

But the star of the show for me is the Shakshouka. I have gotten it the last 2 times I went. You also have to try their Dirty Chai. My only critique is the hostess at the front. She appeared overwhelmed by her role and was not warm. We were actually told by the waiters that "she is serious about her list". Which would be great if she managed it effectively. When I brought concerns that we had been pushed down the list 3 times for other parties. She responded "well, how do you know that" to which I responded "we watched you take their names down after ours and sit them before us". Her response was to shoo me off and tell me to go find a table myself; to which I did. But what a poor way to manage your stress, responsibility, and consumers. On the bright side my waiter/waitress was awesome per usual.
