round 2: gets a little loud but such a cute vibey date place. holding hands with the most beautiful girl in the world, drinking our coffee in very pretty tall mugs, i couldn't ask for anything more in life. this moment was very very very happy and i love my girlfriend so so much.

Wonderful cafe in squirrel hill perfect for a drink on the go or a space to get work done. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside on the patio. The tables are arranged for two people per table but there was lots of availability even when I went on a busy Saturday. There were also several outlets in case you needed to charge your devices. The menu had lots of drink options including smoothies, coffee, and teas. There was also more food options than I expected! They had pastries, cookies, bagels, scones, and more. The staff was very friendly and made nice small talk while I was ordering my drink. The drink came out quickly tasted wonderful. I got the cappuccino mocha which was sweet and had lots of foam. Overall a great cafe in squirrel hill!

I can't believe I haven't been in here before after so many years of living here! I always thought it was a restaurant but it actually is a cafe. They have a large menu of drinks. I had a chai latte with oat milk and my partner had an espresso drink. He said it was ok. I think my chai latte was ok too, nothing to write home about. It was overly milky and there wasn't a strong chai flavor. It's cute and rustic inside here and is a good place to have a chat or do some work during the day. I'm not quite sure if they have food though. Service was fine but it seemed like only one person worked here.

We only grabbed a quick coffee to go, but the space was very cute and I appreciated the outdoor patio seating.

Stopped in to this long-time Squirrel Hill favorite for a smoothie the other day. Who knew the had smoothies?! It was a hot afternoon so I was excited at the prospect of something fruity and refreshing. Alas, the told me they they were out of all juice options aside from carrot. Then they were out of blueberries, so I went with strawberry. A carrot-strawberry smoothie with a touch of yogurt? Can't say I have ever seen or drank something like this before. It was pretty good actually, not very sweet but refreshing still. They also put real carrot and real frozen strawberries in it. A bit small for $6 though. I was definitely intrigued by the novelty but likely will go elsewhere the next time I crave a smoothie because this cafe was not well stocked.

If you want a really good cup of tea with a delicious pastry 61C has what you want. Coffee lovers rejoice as well because this is coffee brewed as it's meant to be. Relaxing little spot in the heart of Squirrel Hill. It's kinda small and cozy so sometimes it gets packed and cramped. When it's busy, it's worth the wait

We have been going here for over 20 years and it's still awesome and the coffee is so good - always consistent. Rose latte is a must try.

The "barista" is a complete jerk who berates you for a simple order. Never again. And the coffee wasn't too good.

We tried: Cereal Thriller Quilted Pig OG Happy Go Lucky Smashed Browns (get the sweet & spicy sauces on the side & mix them together.) ya welcome! Troublemaker (with cold foam) Honey Buns (with cold foam) And listen... everything was amazing but if I had to pick (which I don't want to, but if I had to...) #1 Happy Go Lucky #2 Cereal Thriller (If you want to be a big back like me,try them both together. Thank me later! ) What really made the experience even better than just having great waffles, was the people. General Manager Sharon and Assistant Manager Kelsey were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed excited to help. The owner Len was EXTREMELY responsive to my email & text inquiries (which honestly is rare these days.) As a small business owner myself, I notice and appreciate that kind of effort immediately!! This place is absolutely underrated. Between the amazing staff, the aesthetic Instagram/TikTok worthy storefront, and food & drinks that are ACTUALLY delicious (because sometimes places only nail one or the other ), they've got the full package! Plenty of seating inside & out. clean bathrooms, self-service kiosks but they also have a register if you are lazy like me. Parking can be a little challenging, but there are several nearby garages that make it manageable. 10/10 experience. So grateful we got the chance to try smashed waffles. I ordered a coffee, a savory waffle, and a sweet waffle, and everything was delicious. I especially loved the glaze on the cereal killer waffle and the "secret sauce" served with their savory waffles. The cinnamon roll coffee I ordered was also fantastic and a very smooth and sweet drink. Everything was fantastic, and the owner was extremely kind and welcoming. I will definitely be back!

Everything from the sandwiches to the scones to the sweets were tasty. They weren't the fanciest I've experienced at afternoon tea but they were good! That being said, they advertise it as high tea which is NOT correct. That's an entirely different thing (more of a supper) and is not interchangeable with "afternoon tea." What they have here is afternoon tea and I wish they would advertise it as such. Aside from that pet peeve of mine, using the wrong terminology, it's a nice spot and I would recommend it if you're in the area.

You get a perfect 19th century setting, which makes for the perfect ambiance. For the tea, I had green tea and hot cinnamon, and both were excellent! The cinnamon takes the cake for best tea with excellent flavor, especially with the hints or orange. Our food was delectable. The pimento cheese sandwich and crostini were fantastic. The chicken salad stuffed gouger was divine. The scones were the best I've had. Crunchy on the outside, while warm and fluffy in the middle. I could have eaten ten of the cinnamon scones. Excellent cheesecake and cream puff. The star of the show was chocolate mousse on a pecan crust. Just yum!!! Phenomenal service, tea, and food made for a wonderful afternoon high tea!! We will be back.

In truth,…read moreit's such a favorite of mine that I headed there straight from the airport on my most recent visit. The cool vibe restaurant is tucked away up a short flight of stairs on Filbert Street. It gives the place a cozy, hideaway feel with brick walls and murals. It's pretty popular, so you might have to wait a few minutes for a table, but it moves pretty quick. The menu focuses heavily on crepes and French toast, and they do both very well. I went for a savory crepe that was loaded with eggs and topped with a rich sauce and diced vegetables. It came with a side of fresh fruit which was a nice touch. We also ordered a sweet crepe to share. It was beautifully presented with chocolate drizzle, berry sauce, and a massive pile of whipped cream. The coffee is solid too. Verdict: This is a consistent and reliable brunch spot. It was the perfect way to kick off my trip. I will definitely be back next time I am in town.

But the star of the show for me is the Shakshouka. I have gotten it the last 2 times I went. You also have to try their Dirty Chai. My only critique is the hostess at the front. She appeared overwhelmed by her role and was not warm. We were actually told by the waiters that "she is serious about her list". Which would be great if she managed it effectively. When I brought concerns that we had been pushed down the list 3 times for other parties. She responded "well, how do you know that" to which I responded "we watched you take their names down after ours and sit them before us". Her response was to shoo me off and tell me to go find a table myself; to which I did. But what a poor way to manage your stress, responsibility, and consumers. On the bright side my waiter/waitress was awesome per usual.
