Stopped here right before leaving the city & I am glad I did. Tiny coffee bar with counter seating. Amazing espresso machine. Cortado had perfect crema and foam. Friendly barista. Everything you need in a walk-in city coffee shop. Again... The foam was perfect!!

I stopped by here this past Sunday with my wife and our twins for our morning coffee. Every Sunday morning we try to hit up a new local coffee shop and on this morning we decided to go to convive coffees north shore location. I honestly didn't even know it was there until recently whenever I ran by it. It's located right near PNC Park on North Shore Drive. The inside isn't too large with seating for 6 or so with two tops and then a couple of coffee bar seats. It was bright inside with their lighting and white countertops and felt cozy and clean. Interestingly there was also a coffee cart in the corner with a grinder and two espresso machines that it looks like they could roll outside on game days. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a 20 oz latte while my wife went with a 16 oz iced coconut mocha latte and then we got a sausage and egg breakfast burrito to share. Total cost before tax and tip was $22 which for Pittsburgh was definitely on the higher side of things. I first tried the burrito and thought that it tasted good. The filling mostly consisted of eggs with some tomatoes and a smattering of sausage and black beans. It was tasty, especially with the hot sauce that they gave, but felt a little small for the price. After that I was able to taste my latte. You could tell that the coffee was freshly roasted from the taste and it was somewhat bitter for the first few sips before my palate settled down and it became good. The whole milk paired well with it and there was a nice ratio of milk to espresso. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. While I thought that everything that we had was on the good side of things, the prices definitely would make me consider.

Stopped in for an iced coffee on a hot Saturday morning. This is a new location and it's bright and fresh! The decor is vibrant and inviting. They have plenty of merch and coffee beans on site, along with some pastry and breakfast options. The staff were super friendly and fast. Only one person appeared to be working and she took orders and made the drinks all within a few minutes. There were a few seating options inside, but none outside.

We tried: Cereal Thriller Quilted Pig OG Happy Go Lucky Smashed Browns (get the sweet & spicy sauces on the side & mix them together.) ya welcome! Troublemaker (with cold foam) Honey Buns (with cold foam) And listen... everything was amazing but if I had to pick (which I don't want to, but if I had to...) #1 Happy Go Lucky #2 Cereal Thriller (If you want to be a big back like me,try them both together. Thank me later! ) What really made the experience even better than just having great waffles, was the people. General Manager Sharon and Assistant Manager Kelsey were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed excited to help. The owner Len was EXTREMELY responsive to my email & text inquiries (which honestly is rare these days.) As a small business owner myself, I notice and appreciate that kind of effort immediately!! This place is absolutely underrated. Between the amazing staff, the aesthetic Instagram/TikTok worthy storefront, and food & drinks that are ACTUALLY delicious (because sometimes places only nail one or the other ), they've got the full package! Plenty of seating inside & out. clean bathrooms, self-service kiosks but they also have a register if you are lazy like me. Parking can be a little challenging, but there are several nearby garages that make it manageable. 10/10 experience. So grateful we got the chance to try smashed waffles. Pittsburgh needed this spot.

I ordered a coffee, a savory waffle, and a sweet waffle, and everything was delicious. I especially loved the glaze on the cereal killer waffle and the "secret sauce" served with their savory waffles. The cinnamon roll coffee I ordered was also fantastic and a very smooth and sweet drink. Everything was fantastic, and the owner was extremely kind and welcoming. I will definitely be back!

Everything from the sandwiches to the scones to the sweets were tasty. They weren't the fanciest I've experienced at afternoon tea but they were good! That being said, they advertise it as high tea which is NOT correct. That's an entirely different thing (more of a supper) and is not interchangeable with "afternoon tea." What they have here is afternoon tea and I wish they would advertise it as such. Aside from that pet peeve of mine, using the wrong terminology, it's a nice spot and I would recommend it if you're in the area.

You get a perfect 19th century setting, which makes for the perfect ambiance. For the tea, I had green tea and hot cinnamon, and both were excellent! The cinnamon takes the cake for best tea with excellent flavor, especially with the hints or orange. Our food was delectable. The pimento cheese sandwich and crostini were fantastic. The chicken salad stuffed gouger was divine. The scones were the best I've had. Crunchy on the outside, while warm and fluffy in the middle. I could have eaten ten of the cinnamon scones. Excellent cheesecake and cream puff. The star of the show was chocolate mousse on a pecan crust. Just yum!!! Phenomenal service, tea, and food made for a wonderful afternoon high tea!! We will be back.

In truth,…read moreit's such a favorite of mine that I headed there straight from the airport on my most recent visit. The cool vibe restaurant is tucked away up a short flight of stairs on Filbert Street. It gives the place a cozy, hideaway feel with brick walls and murals. It's pretty popular, so you might have to wait a few minutes for a table, but it moves pretty quick. The menu focuses heavily on crepes and French toast, and they do both very well. I went for a savory crepe that was loaded with eggs and topped with a rich sauce and diced vegetables. It came with a side of fresh fruit which was a nice touch. We also ordered a sweet crepe to share. It was beautifully presented with chocolate drizzle, berry sauce, and a massive pile of whipped cream. The coffee is solid too. Verdict: This is a consistent and reliable brunch spot. It was the perfect way to kick off my trip. I will definitely be back next time I am in town.

But the star of the show for me is the Shakshouka. I have gotten it the last 2 times I went. You also have to try their Dirty Chai. My only critique is the hostess at the front. She appeared overwhelmed by her role and was not warm. We were actually told by the waiters that "she is serious about her list". Which would be great if she managed it effectively. When I brought concerns that we had been pushed down the list 3 times for other parties. She responded "well, how do you know that" to which I responded "we watched you take their names down after ours and sit them before us". Her response was to shoo me off and tell me to go find a table myself; to which I did. But what a poor way to manage your stress, responsibility, and consumers. On the bright side my waiter/waitress was awesome per usual.
