Highly recommend this place and highly recommend getting there early! Limited seating in this trendy gluten free friendly bar/lounge. They do not take reservations and we joked about there being a line. Well, when we showed up 10 minutes before opening, there was indeed a line. However, we went on Valentine's Day to one of the only GF places in the city, so that was to be expected. They were able to accommodate our party of seven no problem, and the staff were so friendly. Our server was amazing. One of our party members is hard to please, but our waiter was on top of it! We ordered a variety of apps for the table - wings, brussel sprouts, and fried provolone. All tasted fantastic. My husband and I agreed we would come just for the wings alone. Perfect smokey flavor. We got the hot buffalo garlic and they weren't super spicy. The marinara with the fried provolone was creamy and delicious. The Brussels were your standard side that every place has with the balsamic glaze. Not mushy at all and the garlic aioli was the best touch. We saw the food coming out and had to make room... the portions are huge! I could only finish half my burger and took the rest home. It was juicy, full of flavor, and easy to handle. Sometimes when you get a massive burger it ends up so sloppy and the toppings just slide off. Not with this! Perfectly stacked and ready to be devoured. The fries were a little greasy but still crispy. They earned my crisp seal of approval! The drinks were strong and everybody loved them. Date night at Mullet's last night! It was so vibey and everyone was so nice! We got the provolone cheese wheel to start, and it is so crispy and good! Then, we both got a fried chicken sandwich, one of them being buffalo style. I got the brisket fries as my side, and they accidentally made us a whole appetizer plate, but they were so nice and just gave it to us anyways! The BBQ sauce on the fries was so light and yum! I've never had sauce like that before. Then she got a side of sweet potato fries that were so good! To finish, we got the homemade GF olive oil cake that had a blood orange sauce, and they should definitely be proud of it. It was so good! We liked the regular chicken sandwich over the buffalo! Not bad, the sauce was actually really good. It was just messier and took away that nice crunch that the chicken has. I wasn't super hungry so I was looking for light options. The brisket crostini was light and seasoned perfectly-- the combination of flavors was savory and perfect. The salad was crisp and the dressing (homemade) was tangy which paired well with the brisket. There was a bit of pepper or some spicy seasoning in the dressing that was powerful but not to the point that it disappointed or amended the flavor. I had heard good things about this place so I wanted to check it out. When I browsed the menu online I found out the ENTIRE menu is Gluten Free with the option to not get gluten free which is opposite of what it normally would be! The food was amazing! I love that they also have Gluten Free beer which is nice. The servers were really nice! And very knowledgeable. The restaurant itself is really cute and quaint. This is one of my favorite places in the South Hills. The cocktails are nothing short of incredible. The staff are all amazingly friendly and super skilled at what they do, which is evident by their incredible and creative rotating cocktail menu. Food is stellar as well. If you're gluten free this is absolutely your place as everything is either already GF or can be made GF eith substitutes. I would highly recommend the crispy pork belly, the brisket crostini, and the crispy brussels sprouts. As for the sandwiches, you can't go wrong. The smashburger and Bahn mi are two of my favorites. Sub a cup of the chili as your side...you won't regret it (well, the fries are great so you may have fomo). The one tip i have is that the place is small so go early, especially if you're rolling 4+ deep. Fridays and Saturdays always have a wait so please be patient. Mullet's was an unbelievable experience. Being gluten free, I was so happy to be able to have anything on the menu because that's never the case! We started with the onion petals which was their weekly special and can't get over how good they were. The breading and sauce were amazing, and they used red onion which we thought was so different! The chicken sandwiches were unbelievable and they give you so much food. They also have really good gluten free buns (that's not always the case at other restaurants). Started a new job this week at an adjacent business and popped in for a cocktail and a burger after work and this place is really good. For one thing, the smash burger was huge! The fries were also really good. Superb. The bartenders were very busy but very good at staying on top of service demands. They made it look easy... just hustleing'. The restaurant was packed and the staff handled the rush like pros; seamless service. The old fashioned was spot on. One of the owners was working bar and was very good at his craft. As a lifelong restaurant guy I could tell that the team was just on top of things. Perfect neighborhood/family owned/operated spot. Really glad I stopped in. What a great spot! My friend and I found it on a whim and decided to go. They were very busy for a Saturday night but we were able to find seats at the bar! I met the painter of this venue before it opened in the paint store across the street when he was buying the gold paint for the splatter on the back well. Wings were just ok - 5/10. They have a Smokey flavor which is not my favorite. The fried chicken sandwich was bad - 1/10. The piece of chicken was extremely small, most of it was fried breading on a bun with coleslaw and a pickle, barely any meat and cost $19. Came in on a Wednesday for dinner right around 530. We were lucky enough to get a table, as the space is on the smaller side and tends to fill up quick. They were crispy, thinner, and properly seasoned. The cauliflower needed salt, but otherwise was great. The brisket crostini had a nice crunch and there was a good amount of brisket and asiago on top. The smashburger was cooked perfectly. It had crispy edges and was juicy in the middle. The bun was a little thicker/dense than I would've liked. I ate half the burger with the bun and then ditched the bun. The bathroom is down a flight of stairs and is unisex, but was clean. read more

I found out about Mullets from my local NextDoor gluten free group. I am so happy that I did! I was in disbelief that they were a gluten free kitchen, it seemed too good to be true. Service was amazing, and the food was some of the best food I've had in a while. I almost cried when the fried provolone wheel came out, it was so beautiful. There were gluten free croutons! I wish I lived closer, because I would be there every day for dinner. There are a lot of options to try. My mom and I came here on a Friday night. It was a decent crowd. Although we had to wait a bit to be seated, we had no problems ordering a drink while we waited. We both got the 'Meter Maid which is definitely my new favorite summer cocktail-absolutely divine! Such a great mix of tequila, mango, and jalapeño. We ended up grabbing a couple of seats at the bar to eat. There is a tv and we got to watch some of the Pirate game. We ordered the brisket crostini, Cajun dry rub pub wings (spicy!), and the brussel sprouts. While we enjoyed everything, our favorite was the brussel sprouts. We had the honey hot wings and hummus plate along with French75 (gin and champagne) and the Jungle Bird (rum cocktail). Wings were not overly greasy with good flavor and the hummus was super smooth. I was surprisingly happy with the food and experience here! Don't let the name fool you, this restaurant has a classy feel and the food is elevated to a higher level. It was packed when we walked in; however, we were able to get seats at the bar right away. Service was quick and the bartender gave us his recommendation for drinks and appetizer. I ordered a local sour beer and the hummus veggie tray. The veggie tray had plenty of cucumbers, carrots, pita, and celery for dipping. The hummus was smooth with a subtle garlic flavor. It was more than enough to share between 2 people, very filling. The menu isn't very large and prices are higher than expected, but very much worth it since they put a lot of effort and fresh ingredients into creating each dish. As an entree, I ordered the smash burger. It was the best smash burger I've ever had! The double patties were extremely juicy and had layers of cheddar cheese in between slices. Even without the fresh tomatoes and lettuce on top, the meat and grilled bun were very flavorful. The garlic aioli on top blended perfectly with all the flavors and added an extra punch of taste. This place is VERY NEW, so my husband and I went to Mullet's for the first time a week ago. We loved everything about this (Mullet) family-owned cocktail bar. Even though they were quite busy, we were immediately greeted very warmly by staff and took seats at the bar. This establishment has a very chic, urban vibe. We ordered a few different cocktails and five small plates, all expertly prepared and delivered quickly. Their specialty drink, El Camino, is a new favorite (made with mezcal, whiskey, Benedictine bitters, and orange). The classic Corpse Reviver was also delicious, and their weekly special cocktail, The Bomb, was... dare I say "da bomb"? The Bomb was made with Kraken rum, lemon, aperol, and amaro. The food? Yummmmmm... The menu was so good, we had a hard time deciding what to order. EVERYTHING outstanding. They had a fried pickle special I wish they'd add to their regular menu (don't judge unless you've had well prepared fried pickles before). Lol. They blew the ones made at Primanti's out of the water. I like the ones made at Primanti's, but Mullet's has the best I've ever tried anywhere, even in the Deep South. The poutine at Mullet's is better than I've had in Montreal. My husband LOVED the Pork Belly Bahn Mi, and their Caprese was made with very good quality, fresh mozzarella and dressed with the best balsamic reduction I've ever tasted. I try wings everywhere that serves them. Mullet's does a great job with the wings, which came as no surprise. We didn't order the Smash Burger, but definitely will next time. We were covering the one somebody next to us was enjoying, but we were too full to even share one. The bartender and part owner, Colin Mullett, was warm, friendly, and a master mixologist. Nice small space with a few high tops, a few regular tables and a couch and seating area, and a bar. It was very noisy...so be sure to talk load and wear your hearing aid.lol. Bartenders seem to handle the table service for orders and a young lady brought out the food and cleared tables but did her best to not communicate. Service was almost nonexistent. Had to find someone to get salt and pepper and one was empty but the server noticed and replaced it. We started with the crispy Brussel sprouts which had some Asiago cheese a balsamic reduction. They were OK but the cheese made it a tad to sweet for me. We split the Bahn Mi handheld and it was very good with a very tasty pork belly. The wine list is limited in quality, could use one or two better quality wines. There are 3 TV's and two were on MMA, holy heck who wants to watch that crap while dining! read more

Had a great dinner at Mullett's tonight! Had apps and burgers and everything was absolutely on point. The best word I'd use to describe the food is flavorful. Service was outstanding too. Price was about what you'd expect in 2024 now but a good value I thought. I'm mostly disappointed anymore when we go out to eat-bad food, bad service, high prices or a combination of all of that. Everything about Mullett's was great-food, service and overall vibe. They need more space because it's small and increasingly popular.
