Single handedly the best cocktail bar in Pittsburgh. Easily a 15/10. Very intimate setting tucked away in the busiest drinking area in Pittsburgh. My absolute go to place for a drink when I want something good.
This spot is very cute and spacious! It's an intimate vibe with mood lighting. The server was nice. It's a speakeasy in the south side which is fun since the outside is very discrete. The menu has a limited number of cocktails on there, 6. Our group tried a lot of the drinks. Many of us got the perfectly spring and it was very strong. I think it's a drink that is made basically with all alcohol. The sailors say drink was really good albeit spicy. Someone said it tasted like an Italian sausage and I could see it. Friends liked the suntory time a lot. The coffee cocktail on the menu was also really good. It's a cool spot to check out if you're in the area! They are pretty creative with their creations.

Phenomenal cocktails and knowledgeable bartenders! It is a small space with a back room that is sometimes closed to public for private events. Stop in for a cocktail!
This is the best place to get a cocktail in the south side! The bar is small and hidden, so it is very easy to walk past without even realizing it. The staff are amazing and super friendly here. My friend and I were greeted the second we walked in on a busy Saturday night. The bartender gave us water right when we sat down at the bar and continued to fill it throughout the night without us even asking. The drinks they made were also very good. They have an apple cider punch on the day we went for $6 a glass. Very reasonable price for a great cocktail, definitely the best price I've seen at a cocktail place.
This is a traditional speakeasy in every sense: from the windows shrouded in newspaper so passerby's cannot see inside, to the dimly lit interior, to the excellent mixologists who can whip up anything your heart desires. The drinks are all excellently crafted and reasonably priced. If there is something you have as a "go to" - share with the bartender and they can put a spin on it. Like gin but not sure how to make a cocktail (other than a G&T) with it? Let them wow you with a lemon/lavender concoction. Like it simple? They have an amazing selection of bourbon, whiskey, and amaro. Pro tip - if its DEAD in there (rarely), ask very nicely and they will make you a traditional Ramos Gin Fizz (all 12 minutes of shaking!).
Acacia has the coolest, low-key, speakeasy vibes... darkly lit with the windows boarded and an entire wall of liquor bottles above the bar. Their cocktail menu is creative and thoughtful. My husband loved the Old Fashioned, and I really enjoyed The Architect. The bartenders are very attentive and knowledgeable, too!
I LOVE ACACIA!!!! They make some of the best cocktails in the city. They also have an amazing selection of hard to find liquors. There's always a fresh cocktail menu but they have no problem going off menu to make you exactly what your craving.

They always have about 4 featured cocktails on their menu and can make any other cocktail you can think of. Acacia also has a highball machine that makes amazing highballs. All of the servers and bartenders are really helpful. If nothing on the featured cocktail list is peaking your interest, they will recommend a drink for you to try. The bar really does feel like a speak easy. It is a very easy place to miss if you have not visited before. The lighting is also pretty dim. This is a fantastic date night spot or place to have a relaxed night with friends.
This is a really great cocktail bar with cool speakeasy vibes! My fiancé and I went on a Friday around 8:30 pm and it wasn't as busy as I was expecting! We easily got a seat at the bar. (Sitting at the bar is the best!) We started with Bartender's choice (which is always a good idea if you're at a specialty cocktail bar), and we both loved what we got! They made me a Juliet & Romeo, which was gin, cucumber, mint, etc. they made my fiancé a Safe Return, which was bourbon, pineapple, cinnamon, etc. (didn't write down the ingredients so can't remember it all lol) I also got the classic Last Word, which was great! They didn't include the maraschino cherry garnish which made me sad, but I lived lol. I also tried the Euro Trip from their specialty menu, and it was delicious and very spicy from the ginger. They also had their own barrel select of Knob Creek, which my fiancé tried - so cool! The bartenders were super chill and the ambiance was great! A little pricey but worth it. read more
We did some research before heading to Pittsburgh. This bar came up under speakeasy and we wNted to give it a try. While technically not a true speakeasy in the sense of hidden doors and secret codes, it is amazing. You do have to "look" for it. From the street not an easy spot. But you will be so glad you found it. True craft cocktails with knowledgeable, accessible staff. We had wonderful conversation and superb drinks. I am sorry to forget our bartenders name but she was a professional (I hope she enjoyed Detroit) Not a pretentious place, just good people. read more

Excellent cocktails. This is the bar that bar people come to. I guess that there are other quality cocktail bars downtown, but Acacia stands alone on the South Side. This is a Bourbon Sour. These guys are for real. 10/10. read more

Small little speakeasy in Pittsburgh. It's was kind of hard to found at night since they have any crazy lighted sign. The atmosphere is pretty chill, and calm for a Saturday. The place had a medium amount of people. I ended up ordering the smoked black bean dip and a couple of beers. The Igor's Dream RIS and Honey-spot Road IPA were tasty. The black bean dip was good. The staff was kind and friendly. Overall it was a cool place. read more

Not sure what all the rave reviews are about. What I really liked here is the service which was prompt. We were a party of 2 and checked in at 5:20pm. The bar seating was fully occupied, where as a couple of booth were empty. We sat at a booth and I really liked the cosy feel of the place. Surprisingly, the cocktail list was minimal. I ordered the falcon and my friend got the orange flip. She really didn't like her drink at the first sip and when I tasted it, it seemed watered down. Albeit somewhat little in volume, I liked my drink. But, I was expected the cocktails to look somewhat fancy, which they did not. My friend expressed her displeasure for her drink and ordered another drink with gin and apple brandy. She liked this one, but she remarked that it was too strong for her palette. I next got the botanical bouquet (don't remember the exact name) and the cocktail was overpowered by the basil flavor. I would say it was okay. I checked out this place based on a local's recommendation and I would say it wasn't up to the hype. It was okay, but not fantastic. read more

I've visited this bar twice and both times I have has exceptional service and drinks. The second time I was here I was a designated driver so they made me a delicious mocktail with sparkling water with fresh lemon juice. Lucky is so personable and makes the most delicious drinks.. we will be back for his Ramos Gin Fizz very soon! The ambiance of the bar is very romantic (I LOVE the mirrors here!) and inviting. I would recommend this bar as a date or somewhere you should bring a friend from out of town. read more
This little speakeasy bar has been in the back of my mind for months and I can't believe I didn't come here earlier! I am in love with the vibe of this place. * Drinks: 10/10. I wish I remember what cocktail I got but honestly everything on the menu sounded good. They change it up every once in a while so it's hard to find what they were serving that week. There will always be a drink that suits your preferences. * Cost vs. Worth: Their cocktails averaged between $10-$14. $14 is a little on the higher side in terms of Southside cocktails but the whole experience of the place makes up for it. Will I come here again? - Yes! We sat at the bar and the bartenders that were there were very friendly. One of them made us her own random mocktails and it was some of the best drinks I've ever had. read more

Was recommended by a friend who lives in the area, absolutely great experience. Cozy & fun "speakeasy" vibes. The bartenders know their drinks! And are just great humans having fun making the cocktails. I tried a holiday special off the menu, then my favorites a paper plane & a boulevardier. Then I wasn't sure what to try next, and after talking through some flavor profiles they made me a sazerac - which was perfection. If you like to talk to strangers and have a great cocktail, this is the spot. read more

If you like cocktails you have to come here and try this place out. The drinks are remarkable and not like any I've had before. Most drinks aren't even on the menu and are more from word of mouth. The whole bar is set up as a speakeasy and it really goes above and beyond to give you that experience. You can barely notice it if you're just walking by on the street. Every bartender there is extremely knowledgeable though and make amazing recommendations. Try everything it's all delicious. Each drink has different complex notes that come together to give you a whole new experience. They also have a machine for making highballs that gives you the absolute best highball you've ever had. Highly highly recommend the vodka highball. read more
Second visit for us and we are big fans! The cocktails are excellent- classic, well thought out and creative. I enjoyed my bourbon drink- a twist on a classic old fashioned. Had to try the C&C Music factory- a shot of Old a grand a Dad and a pony of high life! Thoroughly enjoyed. My better half enjoyed a French 75 (done quite well) as well as the daily punch- Bourbon and Rye with apple and berries. I had a taste- super good. The only thing that I don't care for is that they don't serve wine- beer and liquor only. Even if the selection were limited, it would be a slight improvement. read more
We stopped at Acacia for some pre-dinner cocktails and boy did they deliver. The first step is finding Acacia - they're serious about their speak-easy vibe. Don't be afraid to open the suspicious looking door! I ordered the No Money in our Coats and sat back to enjoy watching them craft my cocktail. Not only is it like living art to watch, but the drink tasted perfect! On top of a great cocktail, the staff was very engaging and helpful, offering suggestions and constantly checking in on us. It was empty (we were there early), but I can definitely see why this is a hot spot! read more
From the outside, this place is sketch AF... but that's what I love about it! It has a true speakeasy feel to it, although it would be cooler if there was a doorbell or a secret knock something and someone to open the door. I know, now I'm just asking too much. Anyway, my friend and I went on a Thursday night and there were a few people at the bar. The place was rather small and nothing fancy but it was cozy. We took a booth and the bartender served us. They have an overwhelming yet amazing selection of whiskey, and the bartender was extremely helpful when picking them out and helped guide us dependent on our tastes. Sadly, we didn't catch his name but we will the next time we drop by. I was between two drinks - the nori by nature and hot sharwood, which the bartender described as either getting "sushi" or "curry". (Are their drinks a replacement for their lack of food?) Ended up getting "sushi" and it was refreshing; very gingery with a hint of sea... weed. I would give more stars if I could to this place. read more
