What a shame. I've heard mixed things about this place's wings. I've heard they're the best and I've heard they are overrated. We were not fans in the SLIGHTEST Was dead in there around 3:30 on a Monday. Great dive bar feel. Drinking here would be good First off the fries are actually insane. Should've just gotten plates of those with the wing sauces The wing sauces were pretty solid but if the chicken itself sucks that won't make up for it. We got the Honey Cajun which didn't stick to the wings well and had to keep rubbing in the sauce. Still tasted solid and dipped the fries in a good bit. The PB&J which I always will get whenever a place offers because PB flavored wings SLAP. The Hot Garlic which is close to my go to Hot Parm Garlic, so we put the parmesan side for the fries on them If you like mainly skin/crunchy wings or a classic yinzer dive bar then check it out but we won't be returning Also I forget our waiter's name but he gave us his opinion on every sauce he did and didn't like. Very nice

Went here with a few friends and had a good time! Drinks are super cheap and food was really good! The food did take a while to come out and we were sat by the back door so it was a constant breeze which wasn't great, but overall would go back.

Worth every ounce of hype that I have heard!! Classic Pittsburgh dive bar but with an awesome food menu and incredible wings! Some of the best wings I've had in Pittsburgh! If you love bar food, great wings, and lots of cold beer options- add this spot to your list! Service was also very attentive and kind and all of the patrons around us were very friendly and outgoing as well. Great little gem!

I can't remember the name of my burger but it was the one with pepper jack cheese, jalapeños and banana peppers plus a spicy mayo.

This was my first visit. My friend suggested it for a quick lunch. The service was really good for a small neighborhood bar. We were greeted right away and given menus for both food and drafts on tap. I ordered some wings and a burger I couldn't decide on what I wanted. The wings were well cooked and flavorful. They come with a side of dressing or celery for a small fee. My only complaint was I ordered my burger medium well and it was more towards the medium side. I still enjoyed it as it so well seasoned. The burger comes with fresh cuts fries which was a treat. Very reasonable priced.

Food: I had the wings, which is why I went there in the first place. They were the best wings I've had in a good while. They had a variety of sauces, including an "extra hot" I believe they called insanity that was a solid balance of heat and flavor. Service: A little on the slow side, so don't go if you're in a hurry. Bartender was nice enough Ambiance: Bar vibe, not fancy at all. It was fine Overall: Went on the basis of a reddit suggestion. Best wings I've had in like 5 years. Will be going back many times over

So I found this joint on Reddit when I was searching best wings in Pittsburgh. Oh my, it does not disappoint. By far my new fav wing spot in Pittsburgh. Since mid-October, I've been 4 times and brought friends. The hot garlic bbq sauce is a killer sauce and I can't get enough. I also had some fries that had curry ketchup and bratwurst on em which were so so good. The beer selection is proper and prices are where they should be for the quality you get. These wings are crispy yet saucy fresh and are perfectly cooked. I can't sing the praises enough for sidelines. Keep it up friends!

My friends and I had a great time at Sidelines! The service was friendly and efficient. We went to satisfy a wing craving, and the wings definitely did the job! I tried the bourbon blaze boneless wings, which were made of real chicken pieces that were lightly fried. The sauce was generous and delicious, and definitely on the sweeter side - I think the mild sauces are all very mild at this spot! While there, we noticed their Saturday hot dog deal - 2 for $11 with a side of fries and couldn't resist. We tried the Texas and Arizona dogs, which had a good variety of flavors between the chili on the Texas and chipotle/pico on the Arizona. Finally, we got garlic palm and cajun fries to share with the table, and we were pleasantly surprised by how big the portions were as we definitely could have gotten away with just 1. The cajun fries were well coated in the dry flavoring. The part was very generous on the garlic part fries, but we did not really notice much garlic flavoring on them. We were also happy to see that despite ordering fried/bar foods, nothing was overly oily. Overall, we were really satisfied with the quality and quantity of food. I'd definitely be back if I lived locally!

2 major issues here. 1 the price point even on a wing night special is almost the same as a regular night anywhere else in area. It's not really a deal more than one night a week becomes down to the competition. Bigger issue is the beer list. No prices so it's game of chance as to what applies to $4 happy hour. One would think a 3.8 Untappd rated rivertowne pumpkin ale would apply. Not only does it not...but a $9 price point when strange roots has 13 percent barleywines for $7.50 down the street. That feels like a money grab for a dive bar as a craft beer snob who travels the country for craft beer.

Visiting Pittsburgh to watch our beloved Steelers has become a tradition for my son Kevin and myself :)) What a great city. I have a family joke that goes like this... " I have 4 sons, Kevin is the only Steeler fan, he is my favorite and they all know it!" We visited this neighborhood place twice, enjoyed the wings and fries, the cheesesteak was pretty darn good as well :) They have some fun traditions for the regulars which in my opinion sets certain Mom 'n Pops apart from being ordinary. Prices are right, bartenders are nice, some better than others. Cheers Sidelines and thank you for the memories! You can trust me, I was in the business for years ;D

Wings are my favorite bar food, ever! This place is the perfect sports / dive bar feel with great food and great service. Located in Millville there is a small parking lot around back but plenty of street parking options too!. Sidelines wings are hands down in my top 3 places! I had the ranch buffalo (10/10) & he got the traditional buffalo and Jamaican jag off. The crispiness of the wings allowed for the perfect crunch. My husband can handle all levels of spice and heat and said that the JJ wings were some of the hottest he's ever had! I definitely recommend this spot for anyone craving wings!

Just a side salad and wings!? Yes. You all know the wings are great. But seriously. Best side salad ever! Even if it is takeout.

    Fit to be Thai wings
    Tracy C.

The reason for the 3 stars is the the Fit to be Thai should be removed from the menu. It is that awful. I literally just got my order and it is nothing like the picture that I saw, no sauce yet soggy. There is no seasoning, salt or Thai flavor in these wings. On the other hand the Garlic BBQ (hot or mild) wings are delicious! I'm so disappointed in the Thai wings.

I hate that I'm asking this but does anyone know if they bread the wings at all with any flour or if they're just fried?

It's been a while that I've moved out of Pittsburgh; I've found other bars that I like, but nothing has quite replaced Gooski's in my heart. I make a point to pay my respects every time I return here. Hardly anything has changed on the interior in the last 30 years. And I hope it never does. It's dark, it's grimy, it's smoky, it's quintessentially Pittsburgh. Crowd has always been an effervescent mix of ages and walks of life. The beer selection is wide and affordable. And the food is just right for intoxicated palates.

First, I wish I would have bought a Gooski's shirt. I have no idea if they had them when I visited but I totally forgot to check when I was there. It feels like the kind of place that if you're wearing this shirt in your hometown a Pittsburgh native would stop you on the street to tell you, "Gooski's is legendary." I wish I was there for the cheap ass drinks and edgy vibe when a band was playing as I love a punk rock vibe, but I think I was there too early in the day for that. The staff was cool, the drinks were exactly what you'd expect, and it's the kind of place that I'd spend way too much time in if I lived in Pittsburgh.

Let's get the one problem out of the way: Our only issue was that the host was incredibly cold and seemed very irritated with us, which we were not used to. We tried to joke and interact in an upbeat way, but they almost seemed to be repulsed by us and annoyed that we were talking to them. We had a reservation, so we really didn't have a choice. I suggest Spirit find a different position for that host, as good of a person as I am sure they are, they don't seem to like people at all. I am taking off a star because of the host being a complete buzzkill to the beginning of our experience. Who you hire matters! Where is 3D Mark or someone who loves to play and makes you feel like family? As for the food, five stars. We loved Chef Raf's pop-up! We loved that it felt like a beautiful combo of Spirit's pizza kitchen with Raf's high quality filipino flavors! The drinks were good. We were delighted at the vegan options and all of the cool nonalcoholic drinks. LOVE. The atmosphere was also super cool. Lots of plants, a moose horn, a bear head mascot mask thing, windows with natural light that slightly look out onto the street. It's not that big of a space in the room we were, but there's one big booth in the back that can sit maybe 7 people if you squish.
